Should I remove the sim before selling old samsung galaxy s3?

I am preparing to sell an old Samsung galaxy s3.  I did a factory reset but the SIM still shows an old phone number when booting up.  Is there any way to remove this information from the sim, or should I sell without the sim card?

    janspad, you got it! You would need to remove that sim card from that device before selling it to a 3rd party. Did you know that you can trade devices in to our device recycling team too? http://vz.to/1cbRAbP

    That is how it connects to a cell provider. If you are using your iPhone just as an iPod you will need the nanoSIM if you ever update or have to restore that phone.

  • Should I remove my SIM if selling my Verizon iPad?

    I got an iPad Air last weekend, so I've found a buyer for my iPad 2. I've used it with Verizon on my family data plan, but will reset everything tonight before giving it to the new owner. Should I remove my SIM and let the new buyer go to a Verizon Store to get set up or does it matter once my iPad is wiped?

    Well, I called Verizon and asked them. They said that if I removed the device from my account, it really didn't matter.
    If you have cancelled the service on that device or replaced it with another one, the SIM will no longer be connected to your account. However, it only takes seconds to remove it.
    Best of luck.

  • Selling my iPhone 4.  Should I remove the SIM first?

    Is there a problem with letting the SIM go with the iPhone 4?

    There is no personal information stored on the iPhone SIM.  What you will want to do is go into Settings->General->Reset and run Erase all Content and Settings to wipe all your personal data off the device (basically, restore it to how it was when new out of the box).
    The SIM is pretty useless once you cancel service, or transfer it to a new device.  As mentioned, the new owner wiil need to get their own SIM and service anyway, so there is no real point in including the SIM.

    You can turn iMessage off on your iPhone.  That's relatively easy.  Since iMessage is an Apple product/service, I have no idea how a Samsung phone will deal with an incoming one.  For that answer you should probably contact Samsung support.

  • If I'm selling an iPhone 3G, do I need to remove the SIM card?

    I'm putting my old iPhone 3G on ebay.  Other than resetting and wiping it clean, do I need to remove the SIM card as well?  I haven't used that phone in years and there is nothing on there I need.  I'm just concerned that the new owner would get my personal information.
    Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

    Must people would sell a phone without a simcard

  • Should i remove the old one fully

    Hi,
    when having this - 'jdevstudio11112install' should we remove the previous version 11.1.1.1.0 completely? should i uninstall Oracle middleware fully or not?
    Bst rgds,
    HuaMin

    This table is created during creation of schemas in RCU Setup, when installing Oracle SOA Suite. If you are not installing Oracle SOA Suite do the below steps:
    You might have selected "Oracle WSM Policy Manager" while creating your new Weblogic Domain (If I'm not wrong, this option was not available in ver 11.1.1.1.0). And you might have already been using an existing database that does not contain the table "schema_version_registry". All it is trying to do is testing the database connection and because there is no table in the database, you are getting this error. I got the same error and here is what I did:
    1. Created the table:
    CREATE TABLE schema_version_registry(owner VARCHAR2(10), mr_type VARCHAR2(10), version VARCHAR2(50));
    2. Get the user by running the below query:
    select user from dual;
    3. Insert the expected values into the table:
    INSERT INTO schema_version_registry VALUES (user_name,'MDS','11.1.1.2.0');
    COMMIT;
    4. Go to your Configuration Wizard and the Test the connection again.
    5. If the test is not successful, then there's some problem with the database connection settings.
    6. If the test is successul, drop the table and proceed with your Configuration.
    DROP TABLE schema_version_registry;
    I hope this helps.

  • When changing transferring to an existing iphone should i restore the phone before or after activating it

    I'm giving my son my old iphone 5 should I restore the iphone before or after activating it to the new number.

    Hey Shells1,
    Thanks for the question. The following resource outlines the sequence of steps you should take before giving away your iOS device:
    Before you sell or give away your iOS device, make sure that you've removed all of your personal information. Follow these steps to protect your data and get your device to its factory default state for the new owner:
    1. Back up your device.
    2. Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings.
              - This will completely erase your device and turn off iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and other services.
              - If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, your Apple ID and password will be required. After you provide your password, the device will be erased and removed from your account so that the next owner can activate it.
    3. Contact your carrier for guidance on transferring service to the new owner.
    When the device is turned on for the first time by the new owner, Setup Assistant will guide them through the setup process.
    Important: Do not manually delete contacts, calendars, reminders, documents, photo streams, or any other iCloud data while signed in to your iCloud account, or the content will also be deleted from the iCloud servers and all of your iCloud devices.
    What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • When i send a imessage it sends it from the number that was on the sim before i transfered my number how do i change it to my number?

    when i send a imessage it sends it from the number that was on the sim before i transfered my number how do i change it to my number?
    ive tried to change it in message settings but the number is grey so im unable to de-select it ?
    any ideas?
    cheers Dan

    Hello joinerdan,
    It sounds like you are unable to change the phone number that Messages is sending messages from because it is grayed out. I recommend the steps outlined in the following article named:
    iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5538
    Unlink a phone number
    To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
    Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
    Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
    This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
    Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • What all necessary action should i have to take before selling my iphone 3gs?

    What all are the necessary steps should i have to take before selling my iphone 3gs??

    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content & Settings. You can leave the sim card in the phone if you like(assuming it's deactivated), as the iPhone stores no data on the sim card. Hackers(potential buyers) like purchasing a locked phone with the sim still installed. Makes it easier to hack the phone.

  • After update to IOS 4.3.5 my Iphone incoming and out going calls is not working properly and I have to remove the SIM regulerly to conduct or receive a call

    after update to IOS 4.3.5 my Iphone incoming and out going calls is not working properly and I have to remove the SIM regulerly to conduct or receive a call
    It is not practicale to do this always any one faces the same problem

    There may be a problem with the SIM card. Get a new SIM card from your carrier - there should be no charge for a replacement.
    If no change with a new SIM card, the standard troubleshooting steps in order are:
    Power your iPhone off and on.
    An iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
    Restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
    Restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
    If no change after any of these steps in order, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

  • MOVED: Should I remove the battery?

    Agree with RX8, the battery had been designed inside the machine, not an easy job to take it off.

    Hi there,
    this is my first post here so I may have picked the wrong section for this thread.
    Yesterday I got my first MSI laptop, a GS60 2PE (the full HD one..had a very good deal). I don't plan to carry it a lot but more about staying at home and doing 3D modeling and videogame, so I think I will stress it a lot. Should I remove the battery and keep going with the AC adapter?
    I read a lot of review before buying it. Some of them thought that the hot temperature was due to cpu,gpu AND the battery, so maybe removing the battery will give a bit of space for air ventilation without having another component getting warm.
    Doing this will mean turning off the hybrid system. Is that worth it?
