Should i restart the OAS 10g2 to show the new modifcations in the reports

When i deploy a new version of a report [rep] to the application server 10gR2 the new modifications on the new version does not appear , the old version still valid until i stop and start the application server again .
so is there any way to show the new version modifications in the reports without stop/start the application server.
Thanks

When i deploy a new version of a report [rep] to the application server 10gR2 the new modifications on the new version does not appear , the old version still valid until i stop and start the application server again .Shouldn't be so. Of course the report has to be reread... We make modifications continuously, and we never restart AS.

  • Too high TimeDataRetrieval(15 mins) of a report is making us restart the reporting services

    Hi,
    We have an SSRS report which is taking less than a minute to open on development server. Same report on production server is taking more than 15 minutes to retrieve the data; rendering and processing time is very small comparatively which is not an
    issue. When we restart the reporting services on the production server, retrieval time is reducing from 15 minutes to less than a minute.
    Please help us in rectifying this critical issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Simple Living, High Thinking.. :)

    Hi RamukNarik,
    Sorry for my delay.
    In SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), TimeDataRetrieval is includes time spent opening connections to the data source and time spent reading data rows from the data extension.
    If a report has multiple data sources/data sets that can be executed in parallel, TimeDataRetrieval contains the duration of the longest DataSet, not the sum of all DataSets durations.  If DataSets are executed sequentially, TimeDataRetrieval contains
    the sum of all DataSet durations.
    If the TimeDataRetrieval is high, the data source could be a bottleneck, or the queries retrieve lots of data.  If the there is a high RowCount, lots of data is being retrieved - we might want to review the dataset queries.  If high volumes of
    data are grouped, sorted, and aggregated, high EstimatedMemoryUsageKB values for Processing are very likely. More detail information you can refer to these articles about
    Analyzing and Optimizing Reports and
    Troubleshooting Report Performance.

  • Line item PO should disply in the report

    Hi,
    As per the business requriement i need to display the line item PO discritpion into the  report.
    Currently we have one existing Z report and we are developing new Z reprot by copying that exisitng report by adding the line field.
    The PO number field is same for both header and line item ( the reason could be since header PO number header data which is copied to all the line items). the field name for both is VBKD-BSTKD
    Sales order:
    we have developed one new Z report as per the above requirement, below is the output of it. it is showing both line items are HEADER PO only. But our requriement it should display the 2nd line item as ITEM PO1 which was manually changed by the user in sales order.
    So what is the field and table i should give to the ABAP er so that it would display the line item PO details of Sales order into the report.
    Please let me know if you need any further details?
    thanks,

    Hi Lakshmipathi Sir,
    Thanks for your reply. Could you please let me know how exactly i need to mention the logic to ABAPer.
    I can see two fields are giving from VBKD table with line item wise it is displaying.
    1. BSTKD
    2. BSTKD_M
    thanks,

  • Should I restart the migration from my iMac to my new MacBook Pro?

    Hi everyone,
    I've been a Mac user for many years now but I'm stuck with my current situation.
    I've just received my new MacBook Pro 13" 2.4Ghz and it's the first Mac I've owned for many years without Firewire. In the past transferring everything to a new Mac was simple but with this current migration I'm stuck.
    My MBP is connected to my iMac via my wifi network and everything seemed to be going to plan, albeit with a long estimated completion time (88 hours & 33 minutes for I guess approximately 200 or so gig of data). Now I'm over 24 hours into the migration and both computers are saying the same message ("Transferring documents for the user Elliot Pearson") and still with the 88 hour remaining time. The 'candystripe' bar is still moving on both but there's no way of seeing if anything is actually happening.
    What I want to know is whether it is worth, or indeed dangerous to, disconnect the transfer and start again potentially leaving incomplete or corrupted files. If the above seems normal and I just have to wait it out then I don't want to have to start again from scratch!
    Is it possible to connect the two via ethernet to do the transfer as I only remember being given the option for wifi which will inevitably be slower.
    Any advice you can give me will be much appreciated!
    Elliot

    The MBP has a Firewire port. There's no need to migrate over a network nor would I recommend it.
    Use Target Disk Mode - Transferring files between two computers using FireWire. Boot the computer from which you are migrating into TDM. Boot the MBP normally after which you should find the hard drive icon for the other computer on the Desktop. Open Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder, select "Another drive" as the source then select the drive of the iMac.
    You can abort the transfer which will mainly leave the MBP in an unknown state for what has already been migrated. In this case I would simply locate the /Users/ folder and delete whatever is in there so you can start fresh with the migration.
    Of course you can leave everything alone until it's completed. I don't know how many GBs you are migrating, but using wireless is extremely slow - even at 802.11n speed it's 1/4 the speed of a USB drive connected directly.

  • U201CValid Tou201D date set before the date that the report is run u2013 print u201Cnullu201D.

    Hi Experts
    I had a requirement for  the Query, when we executing the through slection screen we will be giving 0fiscyear "from and to" dates. the "Valid to" (0date)  has to check the relation of the Client partner and contract of relationship, if it is within the current date it should dipslay the report with values , if it is out of current date, it should display in the report as "null".
    Logic : This report is based on the u201CClient Partneru201D and the u201CContact ofu201D relationship. If any of these relationships have a u201CValid Tou201D
               date set before the date that the report is run u2013 print u201Cnullu201D.
    Could anyone of you provide the inputs on this.

    Hi Ychinnari,
    I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
    Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
    Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible,please also not specify this account:
    This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
    When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
    When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.
    Execution Account (SSRS Native Mode)
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

    Hi Vivek,
    In Reporting Services, values for LogonUser, LogonDomain, and LogonCred are created when the report server connection is configured to use a domain account. As to the error that “The encrypted value for the "LogonCred" configuration setting cannot be decrypted”,
    we can know that it relates to the domain account for report server connection.
    To fix this issue, we can refer to the following steps:
    Log in to SQL Server Database Engine in SQL Server Management Studio.
    Under Security folder, give sufficient permissions for your domain account.
    Open your Reporting Services Configuration (go to Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration Tools -> Reporting Services Configuration)
    Navigate to the Database Setup tab, select ‘Service Credentials’ as the Credentials Type, then type your domain account and password in there. Press Apply.
    Restart the Report Server services.

  • In the report getiing two lines per each service order

    Hi Experts,
    when I drill down callouts on back reporting level by Component code, Reason code, and action code. I see two lines per service order. I have two records in MP for the same service order. Is there any possibility that I get only one record in report without changing the data at multi provider level?
    Example:
    Report Output
    S. no     Equipment     Calender date  Order type       Service order        Action code             Order count
    1     30000074     18.02.2009              ysm1           62704142            004/#                      1
                                           004/#                      0
    2     30000275     03.08.2009              ysm3      9AHK40218030         004/#                      0
                                          004/20                      1
    3     30042305     02.07.2009              ysm4      9AAU70443928        002/70                     0
                                           002/80                     1
    Could you please see the below scenarios and suggest.
    Scenario 1
    For the S. no-1) for the action code 004/#  and the order count 1 should displayed in the report and action code 004/#  and order count 0 should not be displayed in the report.
    Scenario 2
    For the S. no-2) for the action code 004/20  and the order count 1 should displayed in the report and action code 004/#  and order count 0 should not be displayed in the report.
    Scenario 3
    For the S. no-3) for the action code 002/70  and the order count 0 should displayed in the report and action code 004/80  and order count 1 also should be displayed in the report.
    Regards,
    Sita

    Hello,
    THis can be achieved with foll two ammendments:
    1) Restrict Action Code in the filter to exclude # values.
    2) Create condition on Order Count to display where it is GT 0.

  • Changes in the RDF are not affecting the report

    Hi All,
    Greetings.
    I have D2K which is working fine from a couple of years. we had encountered an error recently and we have found the cause of it in the formula column of the RDF and made changes accordingly. We are sure that the changes we made in the formula column will resolve the issue.But, the changes are affecting the output.What could be the cause for it?
    The report is called from the form and the RDF is in the report server which is being called on pressing the button. We are sure with the location of the RDF file in the sever path.
    We encountered the same problem with other report which is having the layout problem.
    Do we need to restart the report server every time we made changes to the RDF ?

    Hi Rick,
    The issue usually happens when the following conditions are true:
    • You have a 64 bit Operating System.
    • You install a 64bit instance of SQL 2005 Reporting Services.
    • You also install Exchange 2007 on the same server.
    In order to solve it, please change the legacyImpersonationPolicy in the aspnet.config from False to true. More detail inforamtion, please refer to the document below:

    this happen after i did remove the server from the domain and re-join it again to the domain
    please help

    Hello,
    The best method to diagnoze this kind of problem is to activate the Reports Server trace
    Edit the file $ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf/<reports server name>.conf
    Modify it in order to have a line :
    <trace traceOpts="trace_all"/>
    Then, restart the reports server.
    The trace files will be generated in $ORACLE_HOME/reports/logs for Reports 9.0.2
    or in $ORACLE_HOME/reports/logs/<reports server name> for Reports 9.0.4

    The reports in our application generated by our Forms application used to be generated very well by the Oracle 10g R2 AS.<br><br>
    But now, <b>when the user wants to generate any report, it hangs, the report doesn't open in the browser. When I checked the status of the jobs in the report server, they are all in "Opening the report" status.</b><br><br>
    I restarted the Reports server. I also tried to re-start the Process Manager process, with no luck!<br><br>
    I enabled the Trace in the report server, the generated code didn't help me or give my any hint.<br><br>
    Any hint or guide line is highly appreciated.

  • ACS Report - User_Usage_Logon - not returing any data and the report never finishes

    Hi,
    i'm trying to run the User Usage report, but not getting any data output.
    i tried to open the report in the report builder to check the query,, but the query is in XML format and i'm not able to figure out the actual query that pulls out the data.
    i need help on the below :
    1. way to check , if the ACS database , does actually have any data.
    2. to pull out the actual query from the  XML data.
    thanks,
    Sameer

    Hi,
    As we only have one report experienced this timeout issue. Given this situation, we can try the following steps to narrow down the issue:
    1.Run the report directly through SSRS report manager URL to test if we still get this issue.
    2.If yes, increase the timeout limitation for this single report.
    3.As for further investigation, we can enable SSRS verbose logging by referring to the following steps:
    Enabling verbose log in Reporting Services Instance :
    To enable the verbose logging for the Reporting Services instance you have to follow below steps.
    Go to location
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
    Find the ReportingServicesService.exe.config
    file, make a copy first, and then open it in editor and change the below configuration.
    <system.diagnostics>
        <switches>
          <add name="DefaultTraceSwitch" value="4" />
        </switches>
      </system.diagnostics>
      <RStrace>
        <add name="FileName" value="ReportServerService_" />
        <add name="FileSizeLimitMb" value="32" />
        <add name="KeepFilesForDays" value="14" />
        <add name="Prefix" value="appdomain, tid, time" />
        <add name="TraceListeners" value="file" />
        <add name="TraceFileMode" value="unique" />
        <add name="HttpTraceFileName" value="ReportServerService_HTTP_" />
        <add name="HttpTraceSwitches" value="date,time, clientip,username,serverip,serverport,host,method,uristem,uriquery,protocolstatus,bytesreceived,timetaken,protocolversion,useragent,cookiereceived,cookiesent,referrer"
    />
        <add name="Components" value="all:4,reportrendering:4,http:4" />
      </RStrace>
    You have to restart the Reporting Services from Reporting Services configuration manager.
    4.After enable the verbose logging, reproduce this issue again by running the report, record the timestamp when we start the report, when the error popped up.
    5.Then check SSRS log files at the following path, in the file which contain the issue time, check if there is any error message.
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles
