Should I save the Project Data in iMovie or iDVD??

Hello,
After creating an iMovie and an iDVD project, I'm interested in saving the digital info in case someday I want to edit it.
WHat's the difference in saving an iMovie project vs. an iDVD project archive? Should i save both?

Hi,
One thing that you should be aware of is the need to edit in the past versions of iMovie. As new versions become available it becomes more difficult to work with projects created with older versions.
I considered saving my projects some time ago but as the software becomes more progressed the original project becomes more obsolete. I now just keep a disk image of the DVD which of course isn't editable and the raw DV footage in case I need to recreate the project again.
I also keep the project for about 3 months before deleting it just in case I notice any problems with the final version on DVD, but after that it goes in the bin.

  • After bringing in the movie from (a Canon) video camera in iMovie and finishing a Project where do you save the project and make DVD using iDVD?

I am trying to burn DVD of the movie I have taken using a Canon and/or aSony video camera. I brought in the movie in iMovie. Enhanced  the movie adding titles and various transitions and completed the project.  Now how do I make a or several DVD of the movie using iDVD? please help.

You can either share it directly to iDVD by choosing Share > iDVD or you can export it using your favorite preferred settings by choosing Export to Quicktime. With the former method, iDVD will open automatically, with the latter method, open iDVD and drag in your movie. With both: choose a theme for your menu (what people will see when the DVD first starts playing) - you should play around a little to learn how to use iDVD. In any case, when done, you can burn directly from iDVD.

Is it wise to keep the Nikon camera files "DSC's"  after downloading them and converting to DNG files via Adobe converter for lightroom use. In other words do the DNG files have all the raw data I would ever need in processing or should I save the camera's DSC files?

DNG files do not contain some metadata supplied by the camera, which can be used by the manufacturer's software. Thus, if you don't keep the original Raw photo, you will lose this information.
If your 1000% sure you're never going to use the manufacturer's software, then this isn't a problem. But who can be sure what software you will be using 10 years from now?

  • I imported an hour of video into iMovie HD and cut it down to a 33 sec clip, and emptied the trash.  When I save the project, the file size is 20Gb.  How can I save just the 33 sec clip?

I imported an hour of video into iMovie HD and cut it down to a 33 sec clip, and emptied the trash.  When I save the project, the file size is 20Gb.  How can I save just the 33 sec clip?

Non-destructive editing is an important feature of iMovie HD 6.
iMovie preserves the entire copy of every clip you place into your movie in case you change your mind at a later stage.
So, if you have cut out one minute from a 45 minute clip, iMovie will have stored two complete copies of that clip. This is why is helps to set import as 3-5 minute clips rather than one huge chunk. As DV runs at 13GB per hour your project files can get very big.
One workaround is to complete the editing of a section of the movie, then export that to Quicktime: highlight the clip/s, choose Share-Quicktime, turn on Share selected clips only, and choose Full Quality from the pop-ip menu.
Once you have saved the stand-alone clip to your hard drive, you can re-import it into your project using the File/Import command, and delete the original long clip/s from the project.

  • Adobe Reader XI did not save the form data (unlike previous versions). Any way to recover file?

Adobe Reader XI did not save the form data (unlike previous versions). Any way to recover filled form with data from temp locations?
I was not aware that ctrl+s no longer works in reader and closed the PDF after savign it(with ctrl+s). However ,the data is lost and there seems to be no way to recover it.
I cannot find any temp files created by Reader on my system.
Also to my surprize(and shock), the reader did not even show a warning before closing the PDF. Does anybody know if/where can I recover the file from?
Guys, Please reply ASAP if you have got any sort of solution!

    Hi Pat,
Are you using Adobe Reader XI? And not Acrobat. It does not ask me to save the form if there are unsaved changes.
I have used previous versions of reader for saving this form data and it did allow me to save it with ctrl+s. And those versions did prompt me to save the changes before closing.
I guess I should not have updated the reader.

  • How to save the form data into adobe db?

    Hi All,
How to save the form data into adobe db?
I have designed one xdp file.
Through processFormSubmission(), I got the submitted form data as Document obj.
Then I have called the workflow kickoff program.
    code:
InvocationRequest request = myFactory.createInvocationRequest ("myprocessname", //Specify the long-lived process name
    "invoke", //Specify the operation name
params, //Specify input values (HashMap obj)
    false); //Create an asynchronous request
It successfulyy started the workflow, but the submitted form data is not saved anywhere.
And also, How get the form data from tables?
Please provide the solution for the above.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Saravanan G

You need to create a process variable of type IN if you want to be able to pass data to your process. Then the params parameter (HashMap) contains a list of all the IN variables with their content that you want to pass to your process. They key is the name of the variable and the value the content. That way you should get it in your process.
Now LiveCycle will create a column in the database for every process variable, so the content will be saved in the database just by creating that process variable.

  • Where should I save the camera calibration profile for Lightroom 2?

I created some DNG Camera Profiles by DNG Profile Editor. For Camera Calibration in Camera Raw, I save those .dcp files in C:\ Administrator\ Documents and Settings\ Application Data\ Adobe\ Camera Raw \ CameraProfiles. However, I could't find such a subfolder in Lightroom folder, does any one know where should I save the dcp files for Lightroom 2? Thank you

It's the same install folder for both Camera Raw and Lightroom (i.e., a .dcp installed in the folder you described will be readable by both CR and LR).

  • Confirm a bug: preview file generation when save the project

Hi, please could you confirm this bug?
    Windows 8.1, Premiere CC 7.2.2
Concise problem statement: Premiere CC generates new preview of all files in Media Browser each time that the project is saved.
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Create an empty project
    2. Open a directory with video files in Media Browser. Preview are generated
    3. Save the project (ctrl+s)
Results: ALL preview files are generated again
Expected results: preview files should not be generated again
This does not happen with auto save (preview files are not generated again).
It is really frustrating when we have a lot of videos in the same directory.
    Can you replicate this bug?
    Thank you

    Hi Jim,
    thank you for your test.
I'm saving an empty project just for test. However, the same happens even if the project is not empty.
So It is not OS / version problem. What could it be? What could I try?
It is a real performance problem for me.
    Thank you

  • I want to use Get Panel Image in Labview 5.0.1 and need details on how to save the BMP data generated

I am trying to generate an application that saves a copy of its front panel on completion. This is easy to do using an invoke node with Print VI to HTML but this does not work in an .exe format. I have seen elsewhere that you have to use the Get Panel Image method, but no details are supplied in LV 5.0.1 documentation of how to use the "image" data (1-D Unsigned Byte array) that is generated. I want to save this in a format that can then be read as a bitmap in any standard graphics package. Any assistance?

    Hi,
If you'd upgrade to LV5.1 or 6 you could use the 'standard' vi's for this.
You need a VI called "Write BMP File.vi". It's not shipped with LV5.0.1.
This vi only uses 3 subVI's, so perhaps someone at NI can convert it and
send it to you (sorry, I won't, it's copywrited).
If you cannot get this VI anywhere, you'll need to figure out the BMP file
format yourself. It's not too complicated, but still could take some days.
Perhaps someone figured it out before LV5.1 was released.
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

  • Save the input data of single WD4A screen

    Hi All,
I am interested to know, whether as in the case of the ABAP report screen where we can save the input data as variant, is it possible for us to save all the input fields into a variant in WD4A.

  • Save the session data in the database !

    Hello everybody,
I read an article on JavaWorld website about saving the session data of an application in the database instead of mantaing them in memory.
In this way, the web application is more scalable and in case the application server crashed the session data can be taken by another application server.
I was sure that this was a good motivation of writing a class to save the session data of my application in the database, but i read another article where a good methodology to
create a scalable web application was to save the session data in more application server so if one application server crashed another application server can take the control of the entire application.
I think that at the moment i have just a bit of confusion in my mind.
    Any suggestion ?
    Cheers.
    Stefano

What you've read was a method of "load balancing" where "state" is maintained by a backend server instead of the web servers themselves. Yes, if done properly, this would achive true web server independance, and if one crashed, another would pick up where it left off. Of course, you'll still need an HTTP load balancer in front of the web server farm, so it can dynamically shift the load.
From an architecture standpoint, it's a good way to go, but only IF you really need 7x24 with zero downtime. Reason being twofold. 1) It's a huge performance hit, becase each GET/POST requires a trip to the DB, because it's holding state. 2) It's a lot of work, because you're now taking on the role of "managing" sessions (e.g. when to expire, reading the cookie/URL for session IDs.
I was once responsible for a 7x24 Intranet that ran core business applications. My service level agreement with my customers was 7x24 alright, but with the risk of a possible "blip" (meaning, if one server crashed, simply reconnect and continue your work). Worst case, one lost just that one page worth of work.
    I hope that helps explain!

I'm using a MacbookPro so can't right click to highlight (as was suggested in this forum for the same problem) and can't seem to highlight that area. What do I do?

When using the Clip Trimmer, you click DONE to indocate that you are finished.
The Trim To Selection is a great tool and I use it all the time, but you use it in the main project timeline, not the clip trimmer. Just select the frames you want so that the yellow border is around them. Then right-click and select Trim to Selection.

I'm editing in FCS 5.1, but when I try to save the project, it says "File error: file unknown."  Any advice?  Thanks!

have you tried doing a save as to a different location?  If that doesn't work, do a search here.  I seem to remember people having the same problem.
You could also try doing an xml export (I think 5.1 has that capability).
