Should i store all emails in archive

should i store all emails in archive.  will that free upn "other"storage?

Ok I've sussed it out on my own. In case anyone else is having the same problem, go to the archive folder you created (and can probably do it exactly the same from the inbox) select ALL messages (or just the ones you wish to forward) then either right click and select or select from the forward menu option at the top "Forward as attachments". Check the title/subject of your email and change as applicable as it seems to use the subject from the first email you select before choosing select all, and insert the email recipient you're forwarding the emails too. BINGO or Hey Presto or Abracadabra or whatever word you like for "Yessssssssssssss!" lol
And that's all the lady wrote. :) Hope it helps.

  • Where should i store all my pics

Hi Guys, I am new to apple and am importing 18,000 photos. Where should i store them. I will use Aperture 3 for editing. Should i put all pics in Aperture and use there library or should i store my pics on the Hard Drive and then import to aperture as need be. If i do this, do i need to then export photos after editing back to sub folders on hard drive. ANy thoughts??

Read up on and use a *Referenced-Masters Library.* Put originals ("Masters") on external hard drive(s) and separately back them up. Then (very important) when you go to import into Aperture select +"store files in their current location"+ on the right hand side of the import window. If you do not select "store files in their current location" Aperture will default to putting the Masters in the +Aperture Library+ (which would then be called a +Managed-Masters Library+ ) instead of just referencing them, and sooner or later your iMac's internal hard drive will become overfilled and you will need to reconfigure to a Referenced-Masters Library.
Do this a few times with test images to be sure you fully understand the process before you go after the 18k images. Aperture will treat each import batch as a Project so best will be to break your 18k images into individual Projects (e.g. "Mary Jones Wedding" or "20091219," etc.) to import them.
If i do this, do i need to then export photos after editing back to sub folders on hard drive.
Unlike Photoshop, Aperture is a non-destructive editor. The Masters themselves are never actually changed. Aperture instead stores your edits in the Aperture Library. You only export when you need edited images for some usage (like delivery of copies of edited images to a client).

  • How can I send all emails in archive folder to someone else?

I have a friend who wishes to see all the emails from a business account (info@) that we were both involved in and which I have been administering for a few years. I have therefore selected the info account, selected all messages and used archive and it has created 2 new subfolders called 2013 and 2014 under an archived folder. No problem with that at all so far.
The problem I have *NOW* is how do I now send these to my friend? I thought they would have been archived as a file which I could have attached to another email but no. I thought there would be an option to save these now as a file of some kind perhaps on my hard drive or within Thunderbird that I could have attached to an email but once again no, there doesn't seem to be that option anywhere.
SO my question is, how can I proceed from here. Yes I *COULD* select each message individually and forward them but that would be ridiculous. He is using SeaMonkey which as you probably all know uses Thunderbird for the email client so there's no problem with compatability.
Am I making sense to anyone? Please can you point me in the right direction/give me an answer and solution to this and then I can get on and sort this out and move onto something else. :)
    Thanks, Nick

  • Archive all email in iCloud to mac (even those in junk and sent)

This might seem to be a lame question to ask but read on...
I created a simple 'Rule' in Mail on my mac wherein all emails in my mailbex with [email protected] should be copied to Archive mailbox 'On my Mac'. When I apply the rule it only copies those in my Inbox and not those in my sent items or Junk. I would like all of them to be copied. I can't manage without the junk mails but i do want 'sent' mails to be there in the archive.
Also, I want this to happen in real time for all new emails received (at least in inbox) and sent.
sometimes i end up getting needed email in junk. when i drag it to inbox it should also be copied to archive.
please help me set this up.
    Thanks
    Neerav.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
You will need to show patience with the procedure and be prepared to demonstrate without question that the account belongs to you. Don’t expect access to be restored immediately and if you aren’t the owner of the Apple ID registered to the device the account won’t be reset.

  • Long Time Archive of all Emails

    Hello,
I need to archived all emails going through the ironport gateways. For this purpose I'd like to use an linux dedicated archive box. This box needs to receive a copy of all email going thrue ironport. My question is :
How on ironport can I duplicate the mail to 2 mailhost. (Putting to mailhost on smtp route doesn't work because it's treated in a round-robin fashion.)
    Thanks for your idea.
    Regards.

You can configure a filter following something like this
    http://tinyurl.com/ylrrjcf
to bcc to a remote mta with a fixed mailbox. You just need not to include rule with specific rcpt.
But in my opinion, you should just archive it and let your linux box to scp the archive file regularly. They are nicely stored in mbox format and rotated. As long as you copy the archive soon enough, you wont miss any mail.
    i.e.
    Log-Alan-All-Mail:
    if (recv-listener == "InboundMail"){
      archive("all-outgoing-mail");

  • How do I keep an archive of all email in Apple Mail on my computer for one year?

I operate a small business, and need to keep an archive of all email on my computer for at least one year (not on the cloud, as I live on a small island and our internet service is sporadic). I prefer to manually delete all email after 12 or 13 months. It seems like Apple Mail no longer allows this?

What type of account(s)? (POP, IMAP, Exchange)
You can move messages from the sever ( IMAP or Exchange) to a folder under "On My Mac" to save directly to your computer.
When you drag a message it copies. Use the Move icon to move off the server to "On My Mac" folder.
You can select to delete any email at any time by selecting messages then click on Delete.

    Hello!
Please check in the Mail preferences if you have any mail rules activated: "mail > Preferences > Rules"
If so, uncheck the rules and test if your issue is resolved in the future (perhaps by sending yourself a few mails)

  • How should I store and handle all my photos?

I have an iphone and ipad. I take all my photos on my iphone. Is there a safe way to store all of them? In the past I had a desktop and stored all photos on a cd. Now I think that's a bit outdated perhaps and I don't have a desktop anymore.

I wish to second the other two replies you have received so far in an effort to show how right they are.
Neither the iPhone nor the iPad are good place for long term storage of your photos.
My suggestion is to get them to a computer as quickly as possible and then backup them up from there.
Only after that is you want them on a mobile device, you can move them back again.
As to all of the rumors that you hear about the death of the computers, I think it is a lot of hype. The devices like the iPhone and iPad are nowhere near ready to replace then yet.

  • I DON'T want to store any data on my MBA. I want to store all data or 90% of it on a NAS

All I have is a 13inch Macbook Air mid2011 128gb flash storage. And the expertise from you guys able to reply to me *
My goal is to set up a NAS ( how do I do this?)... as of writing I am intending to buy an airport express 802.11n.
Will the airport express allow my MBA and any other device for that matter to print wirelessly?
Can I connect sub/sound systems wirelessly to Itunes library through airport express.
Next I want to buy an Imac to act as a desktop but also as Server. I don't want to rely on my MBA to hold data as I want it to be purely for carrying out task optimally. *So for your answers sake please reply as if I'm ignorant to computing as I am largely hoping to learn almost step by step method to carry out this endeavour of mine.
Should the IMAC be connected to a NAS- buy a DS411j or DROBO FS? ---> and the NAS be connected to the airport express---> and the airport express is the gateway for any device including my MBA to pick up data (like to print), store away data (resumes, essays), play data (movies, music), act as a backup (imac holds storage, NAS holds a copy of storage in case imac fails or vice versa.
this might give current context: linksys router (lounge room) ---> macbook air (m/r). my room = m/r
    this is dream context: linksys router (lounge room) ---> macbook air (m/r) --->airport express (m/r) --->nas (m/r) ---> imac(m/r)
\--->brothers laptop (his room,he can now also print wirelessly, watch                                                                                                                                           movies wirelessly from the nas, save resumes/essays to nas etc)
That is ultimately my desireable outcome, but I am stupid and want to make sure it 100% correct and functional! Now.. is this just a pipe dream?! Can I do it with just the replys or email from you guys?Should I get someonelse to do it for me? Or is it going to be bottlenecked and this scenario won't work at all?
If I should chop and change the supply chain management of devices, please educate me. I am not claiming to know much. But I am totally here to learn from you 5x,10x more than I wrote. Maybe it's easier if I contact you through email.
Sorry if I wasted your time, If any one would like to help me take this challenge; break all this down to where to begin and how to move on to next step. Should I buy all of this at once. or step by step.
Even if you read thru all this and don't have time to reply huge amounts, please just redirect me with links.
    Finally thanks

There is a world of information in these forums if you use the search function near the top right of this page. Just type in NAS for example and you get many threads on the subject (marked with a green checkmark if it solved the question) another example would be Airport Exterme and sound system. Once you formulate your ideas better then specific questions can be addressed one at a time. You may find that a less expensive choice for a server might be a mac mini. Good luck with your project, ask more specific questions and update you systems profile.

  • How Do I Sync All Email Accounts and Mailboxes (including those I create)?

How do I Sync all email accounts in the OSX Mail Application and mailboxes(including those I have created), all using the .mac sync application . . . or is there a better way to sync information from my powerbook to my imac?
The problem: I am reading and sorting/organizing my emails on my powerbook when traveling, and then I come home to my imac and end up having to manually duplicate the work I just completed. Any easy way of truly syncing the information between computers? Pleae let me know. Thanks
What is meant by mailbox structures? For example: On my powerbook, I have 2 unread messages in one of my IMAP email accounts. I read both messages. I choose to move message A to a client mailbox that I created in the OSX Mail APPL and the other message B I leave as read in the inbox & respond with a sent email . Now I use the .mac sync app on the powerbook. Then I use the .mac sync app on my imac . . . . will the application not sync the same information/sorting/organizing/sent responces into the appropriate mailboxes? I'm so confused.
Also, what "mailboxes behavior" & "advanced" preferences should be checked with IMAP email accounts. All sorts of misc. mailboxes keep being created in the OSX Mail APP. when choosing different preferences. When selecting store on server (mailboxes created indicate: stored locally on computer). Again very confused.

The benefit of using an IMAP is keeping server stored messages synchronized when accessing the account with an email client such as the Mail.app on different Macs.
Messages in the Inbox mailbox for an IMAP type account are stored on the server by default which cannot be turned off.
With an IMAP type account, you can also store Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages on the server which is available under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences.
If you want to keep Sent messages synchronized with Mail on both Macs, you need to select "Store sent messages on the server" under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences in Mail on both Macs.
I choose to move message A to a client mailbox that I created
in the OSX Mail APPL and the other message B I leave as read in
the inbox & respond with a sent email . Now I use the .mac
sync app on the powerbook. Then I use the .mac sync app on
my imac . . . . will the application not sync the same information
/sorting/organizing/sent responces into the appropriate mailboxes?
    I'm so confused.
Was this client mailbox created as an "On My Mac" location mailbox? If so, an "On My Mac" location mailbox is stored locally on the hard drive, not on the server so messages moved to such a mailbox will not be kept synchronized with Mail on both Macs. Transferring a message from the account's Inbox mailbox or from any server stored mailbox to an "On My Mac" location mailbox stores the transferred message locally on the hard drive and removes the message from the server at the same time.
When creating a mailbox, the default location is "On My Mac" which is stored locally on the hard drive. If you are accessing an IMAP type account, you can select the IMAP account via the location selection which will create the mailbox on the server and be available in Mail on the other Mac. Messages placed in a server stored mailbox will be kept synchronized with Mail on both Macs.

  • All Emails Sent to Verizon Email Addresses Are Blocked - Please Help

    Hello,
Email messages that our company sends to Verizon recipients are being blocked by the anti-spam system. I have copied a sample failure message below. I have submitted whitelist requests several times, but get automated messages in return saying the IP is dynamically assigned (see below). Our IP address is static, not dynamically assigned. No spam is going out from the system, and we are not on any of the blacklists. Our emails to [email protected] and [email protected] are also being blocked, so I have found nowhere else to turn for assistance.
Can you please help or assign an agent to help us in this matter? We have many customers who are not receiving their online purchases or responses to their requests for assistance from us because Verizon is blocking all emails to them from our servers. We certainly don't want to have to post to our online store that we cannot sell to or assist anyone with a Verizon email address.
The mail server in question is: *******

    Hi TraciG,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

  • Email Campaign Archive List

Client wants an email newsletter archive list on their site for users to refer back to should they want to. Wondering if there is a clean and easy way to execute this? Anyone know where to get the links to the campaign mailings to list out on their site?

    Hi Mauro.
We already have tried to use CRM_MKT_ADR_SEARCH Badi. We have implemented CHANGE_SEARCH_RESULTS method but with this it's only possible to choice between diferent Addresses Numbers.
But, we have the same Addr. Number with more than one email address in ADR6. All this email address are in the same Adrress Number and Person Number.
About your question, we are storing the newsletter emails into a Z table. This email adresses are already in BP address.
    Thank you for your idea.
    Do you have another way?

  • Lost all email gmail deleted by mistake need help thank you

lost all email gmail messages deleted by mistake need help thank you.

Mail 2.x doesn’t store mail in standard mbox format. The only way you might find Mail messages in a “recovered” mbox file is if it was a Mail 1.x file that Mail 2.x left there after the conversion to the new *.emlx format when you upgraded from Mac OS X 10.3 or earlier to Mac OS X 10.4.
If you’re running Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and don’t have a backup, what you should have tried to recover are as many *.emlx files as possible. Data Rescue II may be able to do that, but the documentation doesn’t say so. The only data recovery utility that I know for sure can currently recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage.
That said, you may still try to import those mbox files as Other (not as Mail for Mac OS X), and hope that they don’t contain garbage that causes Mail to crash — you may look at their contents with a text editor first to check whether there are actually any emails there.
Beware, however, that anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted *.emlx files to be overwritten if you don’t try to recover them first.

  • Where does Mail store its email files

hi there, I'm having a bit of an email crisis.
background: I have a MacBook Pro circa 2012 running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 with over 28 or 29GB of free space.
For email, I have a primary address through Cox Cable and some secondary Cox Cable email accounts for junk mail and the like.  Recently, there was some recurring difficulty retrieving the Cox emails.  The Mail program would open up and look for the Cox Cable email accounts and variously fail to connect with any of them.  The Mail program would tell me that it was unable to access the account and suggest I enter my password.
I decided to delete the accounts and set them up again to see if doing so would grab the most current SMTP settings, etc..  Doing so, I may have accidentally deleted from local storage (on my computer) my old archive of sent and received mail (going back to 2006).  More on that later.
When establishing the settings in Mail for the cox accounts, I left the feature on where Mail would leave the the emails on my Cox email server (which only uses 7% of its space currently).  This seemed to correct the retrieval errors I was getting before.  Something else strange happened.  Sometimes when I would send mail, it would send, I'd hear the whooshing sound, but it would not store a copy of it in my sent email folder.  In most cases, the recipients confirmed receipt.  This would only happen with some sent mail.  Others would be deposited into the Sent mail folder in Mail as usual.
    Questions:
    (1) Where does OS X store the Mail email files?  I can't find any folder with an xbox file or any other file.
    (2) How can I find out if my missing email archive doesn't exist somewhere else on my laptop right now and my Mail program can't find it.
    (2) If I well and truly deleted the archive not only from my Mail program but also from my laptop, am I able to import my email archive from my external hard drive where it was backed up?  I'd like to leave the archive in an archive folder in Mail so that I can see it and search it when necessary without having to plug in my external drive and also so there are two copies of this email archive.
Any advice you can provide will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    ed

hi.  update.  I found the hidden Library folder where the mbox email files are located as follows:
click on your finder to open it
click the GO command from the drop down menu and before clicking again press and hold down the option key.  that reveals in the Go drop-down menu the hidden Library folder.  Click on that Library folder to open it.
from there, look for a sub folder called Mail
click on that and see a sub folder called V2.
click on that and you'll find subfolders for the email accounts you've established, inside which are the .mbox files that represent those email databases.
however, once inside there, I found no .mbox files for the old archived files and so I think that I goofed and well and truly deleted the old POP emails when switching from POP to IMAP about two weeks back.
the good news is that I was backing up somewhat regularly via Time Machine to an external drive.  So I recovered the old POP emails into an separate INBOX and SENT MAIL archive that now sits again on my Mac in my Mail program, somewhere below the active mail folders I use daily.
The POP email protocol was lately prone to these 'unable to access' and 'please enter your password' messages and that's what prompted me to try to change my settings.  When I did, I must have found that Cox email now supports IMAP for residential customers and made the switch from POP to IMAP, inadvertently deleting the old POP email.
The IMAP protocol resolved the 'unable to access' and 'please enter your password' messages that Mail used to give me under the POP protocol.  But left the problem of certain sent mails not being stored immediately in my local sent mail folder on my Mac.
    unresolved questions are:
i generally liked switching from POP to IMAP because my email on my phone and laptop are more apt to be in sync and coordinated, and it resolved the connection/password problems I had with POP.  I'd like to keep on IMAP.  I have experienced the occasional missing sent mail.  So far as I can tell, when sending the email from my laptop, I hear the swoosh of sent mail and the recipients do receive it but a copy if not always delivered into my local sent mail folder.  a copy of it is stored on the Cox email server, however.
any workaround that issue?  It leaves me wondering sometimes whether the mail was sent or received and I also need a record of all email sent on my laptop for future reference.
is it possible this missing sent mail only happens when there are attachments?  it doesn't happen every time.  I've noticed it has happened when I've sent emails with attachments.
any help you can give is appreciated!
    ed
