Should I switch from a Ipod Touch 4th gen. to an Ipad?

Hey i'm in high school now and i'm looking if I should switch from a ipod touch to an ipad (or stay with ipod and possibly upgrade to a 5th gen.), seeing as our school is allowing us to use ipads and laptops. That means I need all the nessacary tools for school.
     What I'm looking for:
1.Speed and performance
2.portable "laptop" (i like the pocketness of ipod,
   but i dont walk around the city that much, but
   would it bother with an ipad?)
3. Latest (if possible)
4. i am on a budget (or could i sell my ipod? or have both? - might take awhile)
5. music (5 gb +/-)
6. photos (not too much photos)
7. camera (I do have alot of sibings and my parents like me to take pics so i need a good camera, maybe flash?)

Your only hope is to contact a data recovery company. When it shows the connect to iTunes screen the iPod is essentially deleted.

Can I watch videos from my iPod touch 4th gen on my tv

I have purchased a composite video AV cable to TV RCA cable to watch my videos from my iPod touch through my tv. The lead apparently works with all ipod touch and iPhone 4, and all software updated, but I can not change my video settings to play through the tv as I don't have the option to change to tv out.
Does anyone know how to get around this?

Ok, I have music videos on my iPod, purchased from iTunes and I want to view them on my tv. I bought the cable as I was told this would work. If you can't view a video bought from iTunes on a tv, what can you view?
All connections are correct, the iPod states that the video is being played through a tv, but nothing shows up on my screen. And yes, I do know which channel to switch to. I just don't have the option on my iPod or iPhone to switch to tv out, whether the cable is plugged in or not. Every where I look for info it says I need to change my options to video out on my iPod settings, but it's not an option available. All I get on my tv is a plain screen as if nothing is connected.

How can I transfer music from my iPod Touch 4th Gen back onto my PC?

I accidentally deleted my iTunes Library file today and when I add all of my music back on it has music I don't want on it and none of my playlists are there (There are over 1000 songs on my computer and I only want about 200 of them). I thought that I could use all of the files from my iPod and put them onto my PC. After a while searching I couldn't find a way and have resorted to here. I'd prefer not to download separate software or redownload my files because my internet is painfully slow at the moment (0.8mbps). I just want a quick and easy way to put all of my stuff from my iPod back onto my computer. It's stupid how Apple make it so easy to put music onto the iPod but make it impossible to do the opposite. (Stupid industry standard safety, eBay and Amazon haven't even got this much security!). My iPod is running IOS 6.1.3 and my PC is Microsoft (much much much much.... better then Apple ) Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Thanks!

Unable to home share with iPod Touch (4th Gen) and iPad 2

Since I have upgraded to iTunes 11 I am unable to home share my HD movies to both my iPod Touch (4th Gen) and my iPad 2
I was able to home share all my HD movies before iTunes 11.
I know that the iPad 2 and 4th Gen iPod Touch can only support 720p, but by streaming/home sharing that was the work around.
But again, once I upgraded to iTunes 11... when I go on my iPad or iPod Touch I can no longer see them in my shared library.
Here is the crazy part though... if I go downstairs and get on my 2nd gen AppleTV... I can see all my movies in my shared library.

There are no setting on the iPod. Unlike the iPad wich morrors the iPad display, TV out on an iPod only displays TV out on apps that support TV out. The Video app is one such app.
Is that you problem?

Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings

Lost (possibly stolen) iPod Touch 4th gen. Any way to sever its ties to my account and other devices?

I need a way of severing all services (such as message receiving and connecting to my iPhone texts) from my iPod Touch 4th gen remotely as I'm concerned it has been taken and I did not activate 'find my iPod' before its disappearance. I have already changed my Apple ID passwords in the hope that it would require my new password to recieve any further messages. I tested it on my iPad and this is seemingly not the case. there is nothing you can do to find it if the find my ipod app was not activated if it was stolen all you can do is file a police report you would need to have the serial number when you file the police report, plus notify your celluar provider that your iphone may have been stolen and they can make a note on their network about the phone

The synch with my iPad didn't restore my Address Book, but when I changed the Contacts preference on my iPod Touch & synched it my Address book was restored. Thanks for the help.

Brand New Ipod touch 4th gen right earphone jack not working out of the box. Bought at Wal-Mart yesterday. Are we missing something in the set up or should we return it?

Backing up an iOS device will copy some data to a backup file within iTunes, but this excludes all media. You can also transfer iTunes Store purchases from the iDevice to iTunes but, without using a third-party tool, nothing else. As long as you do not sync the iPod with your new library, the media that's on it will remain ... for as long as it keeps functioning, is not lost, stolen, eaten by the dog, ...
You may also have an option to recover your previous library from your old laptop; as long as its hard drive isn't fried, a computer repair store or technician may be able to extract the drive, mount it in an external enclosure, and copy your data to another PC. Whatever you choose, there is no real alternative to having all your media on your computer, managed by iTunes, and regularly backed up to another device/location.

IPod Touch 4th Gen starts from the same song

I recently updated my iPod Touch 4th gen, 32 GB to iOS 6.1.2, from 5.1.1. I skipped iOS 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.2, 6.1, and 6.1.1. After the update, I noticed that when I play music from my "All Music" list, my iPod always starts on the same song, no matter what song I listened to last. Sometimes it starts at a song that's farther down the list, but I haven't been able to figure out what circumstances caused it to start at that song. To make things more confusing, once it chooses a different song, it always starts from that song.
I have confirmed that Shuffle and Repeat are both OFF. This issue occurs whether I have recently charged/synced my iPod or not. It also occurs after I perform a hard restart on the iPod. I have not tried restoring it, because I have not had time to dedicate the several hours it would take to re-install iOS and copy all of my stuff back onto it.
My computer is running Windows 7, 32-bit. My iTunes is version 11.0.2.26.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone has questions relating to this issue, I'd be happy to answer them.

I didn't mention this in my initial post because I didn't think it was relevant, but the Home button on my iPod doesn't work. I've been using the virtual home button provided by turning Assistive Touch on.
I did try the first solution you suggested, but nothing happened. I'll make another post when I try the second method.
On a side note, and if it makes any difference, the device in question is not a phone. It's an iPod Touch.

What may work is to restore the iPhone fom the backup of the iPod. However, if the two devices ahve different apps that come with the device, that may mess up some of the folders.
