Should i switch to Safari?

Im kinda stuck in between switching or not.. Im currently a chrome user, have been for many years.. But recently ive been looking into the memory usage and porfomance of chrome... Basically if you know anything about computers and how they run then this explains it all,
Id like to switch to safari but theres so many reasons i cant.. For one i use and have a chromecast and chromecast plugin isnt avilable for any other browser except chrome also other things like adblock. Another reason is for things like android devices... It easily syncs between my iPhone, Mac, and nexus 7 meaning if i switch to safari then i wont beable to easily bookmark or access webpages open on my other devices without a hassle.. If you have any ideas for me and can try to convince me to switch itd be great!

After updating to 3.1 my Mail application no longer displays .gif images correctly when composing emails. I have a gif in my signature and it's displaying larger than it should. Same thing happened to Mail on my MacBook Pro after doing the Safari update. I wish I hadn't done the update now.

It may be worth noting that the beta version is normally installed in addition to the stable release. It is also standard practice to setup an additional profile so that each browser version has a unique profile to use.

You are likely to run into problems with firefox if you attempt to run two versions with the one profile.
By having two versions on the computer you may choose which version to use, for instance you may choose to use 4 at work and 3.6 at home on the AOL ISP. IMO it has always been a good idea to keep manual backups of bookmarks, and with firefox 4 you will probably have noticed the Sync feature

Upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1 for Mac, constantly freezes and crashes, have to force quit, bad bugs. Switching to Safari.

I upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1, and it now constantly freezes, won't respond at all, and has to be force quit and restarted. Within less than 5 minutes of use, over and over and over... I'm assuming it is a bug in the Mac version.... Am switching to Safari as I can't waste this much time constantly quitting and restarting and getting my tabs all back up. Any suggestions on ways to let Firefox know about the bug would be greatly appreciated. It worked fine until I upgraded :( Am running Mac OS X 10.6.7

Active tab appears inactive after switching to Safari

I've had this problem since I updated to Leopard.
When I switch to Safari, e.g. with command+tab or change space, the active tab of Safari seem inactive while the rest of the application seems active (the tab has a lighter gray).

This is not just ugly, I have to click on another application then switch back to get rid of it, and I can't use shortcuts correctly – if I press command+w Safari asks me if I want to close all open tags, and I can't use spacebar to scroll forward in sites.
I haven't found anything about this error, I'm getting desperate
ps. removing the plist file didn't work

You might want to try these steps:
-> Clear Cookies & Cache
• https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Template:clearCookiesCache
-> Clear the Network Cache
-> Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
• Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
• Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
• Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Check and tell if its working. Hope that helps.

I think Safari has the same keyboard shortcut as Firefox "command+F" on a Mac or "Ctrl+F" on Windows.
Look in the lower left corner for the Find. There are more likely to be differences in Find Next and Find Previous in the keyboard shortcuts, but continuing at the Find bar at the bottom doesn't matter what browser you use. There is an "X" there to dismiss the Find bar. In Windows the "Esc" key will dismiss the bar if you are within the find text entry area.

Switching from Safari

Hi,
I'm switching from Safari to Firefox (due to Google problems), and I have Firefox set up as a Startup Item (replacing Safari). However, while Firefox opens, the window doesn't show up. There is no startup window, or window of any kind, but the Dock shows Firefox open.

I figured out a solution to the problem. In System Preferences>Accounts>Startup Items, I mistakenly put a check mark on the Firefox choice. Then I read the Startup Items instructions and it said to check Items you want hidden at Startup. That's why I couldn't see the page.
I just assumed the check box meant to make the app. active.

You can't watch HBO using the Safari browser on the iPad at all. HBO has an app in the App Store called HBO GO. You must subscribe to HBO in order to use it

No automatic video card switching in Safari

I have a new MBP and there is no automatic video car switching when using safari. It's evident that while watching a streaming video (ie. CNN, youtube, etc) that when I manually switch from intel to the dedicated graphics card, that there is improved the performance. Why doesn't the video card switch automatically in this case? Moreover, I have never witnessed the video card switch in Safari at all?

A temporary fix is to do this;
1.) Remove the file 'QuickTimePlugin.webplugin', located in '/HD/Library/Internet-Plugins'
2.) Relaunch Safari
External Quicktime playback controls such as on the Apple website will not work but at least movies play, giving some functionality back.
I can only verify this workaround works on 10.4.11 G4 machine.
Guessing there is a compatibility problem with the .webplugin component and Safari rather than Quicktime as a whole - hope this fix works for everyone until the next major upgrade or bugfix.

You can leave your iPad locked without any problem. Furthermore, it's recommended instead of turning your iPad off.
Your iPad, when it's locked, can receive mails, updates..., but it doesn't take a lot of battery, so it doesn't make sense to turn the iPad off

Firefox won't let priting window to open, switch to safari ,printer works,

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F). 
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear. 
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.

Why should I switch my Nokia 1020 for an Iphone 5c

Ive been using an Iphone 4 for the last 2 year's and that phone never missed a beat ! when my upgrade time came the cost of new Iphone's was too much for me so upgraded to a Nokia Lumia 1020. It's a nice phone with some great feature's but I really feel the need to switch back.
Please let me know youre opinions. Why should I switch back.

Who do you want to be in email for support, etc.? Do you want to be kwarp on the internet and on a resume? What image do you want to project? Individual or business or phantom or...? How good are you at juggling both references? Which would you want on a business card?
I wouldn't want to strictly maintain two IDs (nick versus real), especially for the long term.
Pick one and stick with it. Let the other be incidental.
I also believe these are detailed when doing the contracts, with at least partial explanations of how they will be used, so you can ponder your way during the application process.
Developer ID/Name (as registered by you) shows up as 'seller' as I recall - different from the name version attached to the copyright tag. You could use 'kwarp' as seller with 'greg lieberman' after the copyright and at least for this example, use both.

The s3 is a great phone, yes the screen is huge, no more squinting to read anything and also feels good in the hand unlike the strange size of the iPhone 5. Nice thing about android in general is how customizable it is. If you don't like the keyboard use a different one, use widgets to get to data right from the home screen rather than opening the app, unlock your phone with a pass code, pattern or facial recognition, tons of other options.
Down side about it, like the iPhone it has a mechanical home button, which will wear out.

There is no such application named Lightroom CC . However, we have Lightroom 5 which is already a part of Creative Cloud.
So, in short, Lightroom 5 is available as perpetual product and as a part of Creative Cloud(as of now).
The advantage of having it with CC is that you get additional storage space and an availability to future releases of Lightroom.
