Should I trade my mac air ?

So.. I bought 2014 Mac Air with 4GB Ram and 128GB storage..
I found out 2.4GB of Ram is being used without using any other apps like Safari or documents
And if i use other features, then used Ram goes up to 3 or more
I'm kinda scary what if future os takes more ram than now? ....
I still have time to return or trade my mac...should I return this and buy another one with 8GB??
I mainly use for word/paper and safari..
I don't play game, photoshop and maybe one or two movies but I don't store movies anyway...
Do you think 4GB is enough??or 8GB will be better??
Another qeustion, If I upgrade Ram without upgrading CPU, is it ok or do i need to upgrade both Ram and CPU together ??

Do you see performance issues? It sounds like you do not.
You ask about "upgrading". You cannot upgrade your RAM or CPU. I guess you are talking about trading.
I don't think you should trade, unless you see real performance shortcomings.

my Macbook Air was just beeping 3 times with a pause of 5 seconds continously. I only just managed to get it to stop by hooking it to the power supply and holding the power button for 10 seconds. I was just wondering if I should still go to the apple store and get it checked out, eventhough I sorted it out.

That would probably be a good idea to see if something behind the symptom may be covered under AppleCare or other considerations should there be a hardware issue as a cause of this. Usually bad RAM may be the cause of three-beeps, in older Macs. Their product specialist or Genius should be able to help check it out and give you advice even if the unit isn't covered by AppleCare.
With those models with no user-accessible RAM, battery, or SSD, the Apple Store or Authorized Specialist - Genius, etc would be the go-to people.

Can anyone shed some light on how to run window based application on mac air? I must run Meta Trader 4 platform and MS Office.

Can anyone please shed some light on how I can run MS Office and Meta Trader 4 platform on mac air. I have been using Play on Mac and Wine for the past couple of weeks, but now suddenly it has stopped working, only crashing and giving me nightmares. Is it juts best to install the latest Windows or Parallel?

Meta Trader 4 is Windows only - Office is available for the Mac and Windows and are mostly compatible but given that you'll be doing online trading you may prefer the Windows version of Excel since there are financial spreadsheets with macros that only run on the Mac with some significant editing.
You can install Windows 7 or 8 in BootCamp or any version of Windows usting virtualization. VMWare and Parallels are commercial programs and VirtualBox is open source. VB may be all you need. Whatever solution you choose, you'll need a commercial version of Windows (or get an OEM disc from NewEgg).

Mac air locked on security update screen. What should I do?

Last night, as usual, I receive a message that I should install an update for my mac air (2011) for security reasons. So, I did it before I go to the bed, but when I woke up, I found my mac stucked on the software update screen. There's no option to abort ou take any action. The status bar is stopped at the same place for many hours. Any key that I press make a "this is not permitted" noise and I don't know what should I do.
Should I do a hard-reset? Is there any other action that I can take?
I don't know exactly what is my OS X, but I really think it is Mountain Lion.

Should my Mac Air stay plugged in to electric or should it be disconnected from time to time?

Can the battery be overcharged if its left plugged in to an electric outlet. Also, will keeping it plugged in overhet the computer? Some devices have a special circuitry that prevents overcharging. Is this true for the MAC Air?

Your computer stops charging the battery when it gets full, so don't worry about that. You can leave the computer plugged in all the time if you want, but make sure you make a cycle (disconnect, use your battery and charge it) at least once a month to keep it. Yes, some folks are having troubles (mostly because they didn't do any research or preparation). That's always true.
But rule #1 is, always do regular backups, and especially before doing major surgery on your Mac.

Apple does not take trade-ins; however, in the U.S., they do have a recycling program which offers Apple gift cards in exchange for older Apple computers.
You should be able to sell your older computer.
