firefox keeps crashing. I have 7 old versions of Java listed on the add on page, should I uninstall them
Do you mean multiple Java Console extensions in Tools > Add-ons > Extensions ?
You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension, you do not need them to run Java applets.

How do I get the old version of Java back?
A few days ago I was prompted to download the latest Java update, which deleted and disabled Java. I need it for several work-related functions, so I downloaded the latest version - but the latest version doesn't work. Applications I need fail to launch. I think this is related to the fact that the new version doesn't support 32-bit browsers, but it doesn't really matter - I just want the old version of Java back.
I know about the security concerns and I don't care. I just want the version of Java that I had a week ago.

Have Photoshop Elements from 2001. Got new computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. It won't run on my new computer. What version is MOST SIMILAR to the old version I have, that will run on W7P-64? Thanks for any help. Popjer
You should probably just download the trial version of pse 12 and see if you can live with it.

Do you have Internet Explorer 10 or 11?
Pse 1 can run on windows 7 x64, provided certain conditions are met. -
I have recently updated the new apps via creative cloud now photoshop and bridge no longer work, they open then say they have encountered a problem and close, I also tried opening the old version of photo shop but getting the same result
What OS version? What's the exact error? Exactly when does the error occur? What previous versions? What is on the screen when the error displays? Does Photoshop get fully open?

Although I have a new MacBook, I also have an older desktop Mac OS X 10.4.11 (which I still use) that just recently "stated" the older Java plug-in has been removed and the newer version needs to be installed. The Mac OS X 10.4.11 doe not appear to be compatible with the updated version of Java. Prior to this week, my grandchildren have been able to play some online early childhood games with this computer and I have been able to watch the occasional YouTube video. Can the older version of Java be restored to the Mac OS X 10.4.11?
I'm not familiar enough with the Mac to know where your history is. Hopefully another Mac user can chime in.

How do I recreate the Java plug-in that I deleted after I uninstalled my old version of Java?
I used to have 2 plug-ins for Java. Now I only have 1, the Java Deployment Toolkit, which was blocked by Firefox. I deleted the other, somehow, as part of my uninstalling of my old version of Java. After I installed the latest version of Java, I expected that the deleted plug-in would reappear and that it would have the latest version information. This did not occur. One of my favorite websites no longer works correctly. My current version of Java is the Standard Edition, Version 7, Update 45 (build 1.7.0_45-b18). Please help me recreate the plug-in and/or (re)install the appropriate version of Java. Thank you.
Hmmm, it's strange that Java isn't in the Control Panel. When you view by Categories, it's usually in Programs as Java (32-bit).
But my question was just whether the DLL file is in its customary location. Is it back there again now?

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit (either Firefox button > Exit or File menu > Exit)

Restart Firefox. (If you want to restore your previous non-private session, use History > Restore Previous Session.)
When you return to the Add-ons page, is Java finally there? -
Old versions have a down arrow next to the front and back buttons to show all the pages you have visiteed and can return to but the new version does not have this feature
( Windows) right click the arrows and the listing will appear. The change may well be documented somewhere but if so I do not recall where. Presumably other OS such as Mac's will also have the feature using some other shortcut.

When I closed Ff in version 3.*, Ff asked me if the open tabs should be stored to ben opened the next time. So I never lost my session.
In Ff 4.0.1 that question is not asked. So I lose all open pages in all tabs.
What can I do to get that possibility in Ff 4.*?Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.

have read the 'help' given for this question from another ipad owner --which was to download the current version and then might be able to get a compatable version --- but the new version will not download -- just tells me I have to upgrade to version 6 which is not possible on the 1st generation ipad! I had the trial version and now that I uploaded the 12 full version it well not let me in .
I had the trial version and hit Buy , than I hit full version, after downlaod it did not put on a new icon and when I hit what I hit to open the trial it will not open for me to put the serial # given after the download, I also still have the version 7 Icon still working I thought it took it Off at install .
