Should I uninstall?

I recently ha dot downgrade my computer from 10.6 to 10.5. I then upgraded back up to 10.6. In the process I have encountered a number of software issues. One is that Logic will not open at all. It'll bounce once and then nothing. I am wondering if I should reinstall the whole thing. If so should I do and uninstall and how?

I'm not techy by any means, but I can only thing of un- and re-installing to hopefully start with a clean slate.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

If you are on window Right click on the file which you wish to open and click on propeties.

However, now the program does not recognize CR files and Adobe bridge is not working properly. I get messages that CS5 needs to be updated, but the updates fail. What should I do? Transferring programs does not work well with Adobe applications. You should install them.
As far as having the program on different machines goes, you are allowed to have two activated installations so if it is working on the original machine there is no reason to remove it unless you need the space.

Most Adobe apps install into separate folders alongside other versions so you can safely have multiple versions installed.
In some cases, features in earlier versions have been dropped in later versions, most famously Photoshop:

If you don't use those features then obviously that won't affect you. But it definitely affects some people so they keep earlier versions installed to access those features.

I downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements about 6 months ago. I think I messed up from the beginning - perhaps I saved something in the wrong place. I tried making a shortcut on my desktop, but it didn't work somehow, so I've been going through the Organizer to open the Editer because whenever I click on the shortcut I get this error message: "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application."
Today I was fiddling around with things on my computer and tried to make a shortcut again by finding the "Adobe" file in Finder and dragging it on the desktop. That didn't work....it disappeared from Finder and I cannot open the Editer from the Organizer anymore - needless to say the shortcut I tried to make didn't work. I keep getting the same error message. So, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I would really like some opinions. Should I uninstall it completely and reinstall it? Can I since I downloaded it off the site?

It seems the install was not proper. Please uninstal the existing version, download the software again and reinstall.

It's recommended to uninstall the older version before installing the new software if you dont intend to use the older version.
But if you want to use both versions you can install and have both on the same machine.
