Should i update from 1.52 to 1.9 i think it is now?
Any reason not too?

If your system is stable and everything works then i can't see the point of updating bios, this will only fix known issues that if you don't have any off these issues then why risk a bad flash - dead mobo. But if you will gain from bios flashing then go for it, I would recommend going to 1.9 as this is alot more stable than any earlier bios.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

I want to update my computer to the newest software version I have 10.6.8 but I am not sure if all of my files will delete. What will happen if I update?

With any update/upgrade you should always do a back up first.
If you have files that have been done on a Clssic Mac platform, they need Rosetta to run, this only runs on SL.
So consider that, also some older versions of iWork...have some issues as well.
But your machine should be able to run Mavs.

Your phone is locked to a carrier. Only a SIM from that carrier can be used to activate the phone. Ask the "friend of your mom's" to which carrier the phone is locked. You'll then need to contact that carrier and see if you are eligible to have the phone unlocked. If not, the phone is useless to you.

Open Finder. Go to the "Go" menu in the menu bar. Press and hold Control and click on Library. Go to "Preferences". Find a file named, "com.apple.iTunes.plist" and delete that file. This won't delete your iTunes content. It will reset iTunes. Try it again.

i have a ms-7798
i'm using the internal sound card that it has
but sometimes there is a small crackle sound
and then sometimes my pc freeze for 4-20 seconds or so(first screen freezes, after a second or so the sound)
so what do you guys think ?
should i flash my bios or not ?
if so how would i go about ?

These issues don't particular sound like a bios issue. PSU or short right off the top, but updating may be a good first step after checking the ram.
Run memtest which is included with the forum flash tool:

I have also attached the latest bio, don't decompress the archive, just point the forum tool at it using mode 1 then at your usb flash drive.
saldy i dont have another PSU to test
i already did memtest before
sadly one of my two rams was damaged or what
so first i scanned both
then i took one out > got 4 errors or so
thn i took that one out and put the another in(in the middle it froze or something), so i did it again with no error
currently running on 4gb
i dont think a screen will freeze up though and then continue if it is the psu
in 1.5 > Update onboard Realtek PXE ROM.
in 1.5 and 1.6 > Improved PCI-E display card compatibility.

MS6309 V2 - Should I update my BIOS?

I am running Windows XP Pro SP 2 on a PIII 667MHZ system, 128MB of RAM, 20G Hard Drive.
The computer was used at my Father In Law's Doctors office and was given to me after being wiped clean. I had a hell of a time installing XP Pro, It would get part way through the install and it would lock up. Almost acted as if the CD ROM drive had trouble reading the CD. Finally got XP Pro installed after numerous attempts. During the installation I used the option to delete the old partition and created a new partition, using NTFS (non-quick) format.
My system seems to run O.K. but a little slow and will lock up every now and then when surfing the web. I suspect I need more RAM. I just ordered (3) 512MB PC133MHz Corsair Memory cards from New Egg which should help.
Motherboard has this printed on it:

So should I assume it is a MS-6309 V2.x or a MS-6309 Lite?
Widows XP shows that I have a SMBIOS Ver 2.3
On boot up the upper left hand corner reads A6309MS Ver 3.2, so I assume I have the Ver 3.2 Bios. Should I bother with a BIOS upgrade? I see that I could update to Ver 3.8. Would this help my system performance? I plan on upgrading the graphics card, adding a 16x DVD burner, and adding a larger hard drive (100G)
So, should I upgrade the BIOS? (The Live Update option will not work on my system for some reason)
I wouldn't want to srew things up if it is running fine now. Also if I do decide to update should I use the MS-6309 V2.x or a MS-6309 Lite update? I would also guess I would have to follow the procedure for "Flashing the BIOS for Users using NON FAT file system" - am I correct?

Well I ran memtest86+ with all (3) 512M DIMMS installed. And it passed 4 runs! This is after I played with my BIOS settings a little.
Here are the changes I made to my BIOS:
Disabled system BIOS cacheable and all shadowing. Enabled Cache Bus ECC. Disabled power management. Disabled SDRAM timing by SPD. Set DRAM frequency to 100MHz and CAS latency to 3. Disabled ClkGen Spread Spectrum. Set CPU Host / PCI Clock to auto. Changed CPU ratio selection from 5.0X to 4.0X. Changed CPU Vcore selection from Auto to 1.70V. I am really not to confident with messing with BIOS settings, but this is what I came up with from all the research I have done. There are still many functions in the BIOS that baffle me, and I can’t seem to find any information that can help me.
I am still looking into a new PSU, and I am trying to find out how to raise the memory voltage from MSI tech support (I guess there might be a jumper I can change).
It is sort of a trade off, more RAM (1.5G) less speed (100Mhz) instead of less RAM (1.0G) and more speed (133MHz).
Performance wise I wonder which set up is better? Will my system perform faster with the (3) 512M DIMMS [1.5G] @ 100MHz or with the (2) 512M DIMMS [1.0G] @ 133MHz? Will I ever really need the 1.5G of RAM? The main use of my computer is for internet, word processing, spread sheets, budget programs, digital picture storage, GPS / mapping programs.

My iPod will no longer turn on after attempting to update my iTunes to the newest version.

Pretty self-explanatory for the most part. I was attempting to update iTunes to the newest version because I have been putting it off forever. It's not currently the newest version..however when it was updating, my iPod went into recovery mode (the screen flashed to the iTunes symbol & the USB symbol) & then after a few minutes of trying to restart it (pushing the home & the lock button) it went completely black & will not turn on whatsoever. My iTunes STILL will not recognize it & I have done everything to try to turn it on/get it to work, but nothing happens.
Additional details that just happened: When I try to get it out of the black screen of death by holding the home & the lock button now, the Apple icon flashes for a few seconds, but won't fully turn on, which I don't understand why? Now it's back to the recvovery mode screen.
Any suggestions? It's fully charged, I know that for sure.
I would really appreciate the help though! I walk 20 minutes to class every day & always have it with me. It's a 4th Generation iPod Touch.

Apple is aware of the issue and is expected to release 7.0.3 next week to address iMessage issues.
In the meantime I have found that a good old fashion reset cures it for a while.

well yesterday i opened my new iphone 4 just arrived , i did download a direct link for ios 4.2.1 and just plug in with itune 10.1.1 latest version and i click Alt+Restore and loaded the Fw 4.2.1 and reaches to saying " restoring iphone software" about 60% and its stuck for about hour and a half . i tried other laptop on win 7 also latest itune same issue can't update to the latest and stuck in the Recovery Mode.i'v deleted so files as said in previous posts from library and deleted and everything and its not working please i need help ASAP . thx u all .

The latest iTunes ver is 10.1.2, try updating your iTunes to the latest ver and try to restore you iphone4 to "new" instead of from a backup.
