This is where everybody who has a problem comes. You cannot judge anything by looking at the place populated only by owners with problems.
Update it or don't. It's not mandatory. I do not believe it's "one of the worst updates" as I have applied every OS update Apple has offered me since 1984, and have yet to have a problem that was not caused by me.

Apple Universal Doc comes with iPhone, not iPhone 3G adapter??
Adapters for the iPhone 3G are sold separately (for those with an older universal doc I would have thought). But the list of five included adapters only shows the original iPhone not the 3G.
I'm considering the universal doc instead of the 3G only dock as it looks to have a bit larger base and thus might be more stable (which is one complaint some have had about the iPhone only docks). So I'm wondering if its only that the Apple Store description has not been updated, or if it really does not come wtih a 3G adapter.You are correct. The Universal Dock comes with adapters, but not the 3G adapters. The 3G adapters for the Universal Dock come in a package of three for $9. My Universal Dock is stable, but I can't compare it with the 3G dock. I bought the Universal Dock for a couple of reasons. One, I figure that I'll end up buying another generation something that needs to be docked. Two, I wanted a dock that not only could connect to my hdtv in my kitchen (via Component Cablel), be chargeable there (once I buy a surge protector and extension cord), but also has a remote--which comes with the Universal Dock. This little remote is handy when my hands are a little greasy or if I want to advance in a playlist without getting up and touching my 3G. The menu button on the remote doesn't do anything. I carry the iphone 3G from room to room, in the Universal Dock. I love this Dock.

I have an ipad 2, which is eligible for the ios 7 update. However, after reading several posts here and some reviews from other visually impaired people like myself, I have decided not to download ios 7 unless I absolutely have to (there are apparent issues with font being too thin even with bold selected and contrast issues-when are the idiots that design these things realize grey on white is a bad thing). Do I need to update iTunes if I'm not updating to ios 7? Also, has anyone downloaded the updated iTunes yet? The previous update had the same problems as ios 7 had regarding contrast issues with print. I can still read large print as long as the contrast is good (like black on white or white on black). Grey on white is almost impossible for me to read, no matter how big or thick the font is. And inverting the contrast doesn't cut it-you have to keep toggling it off/on depending upon what you are doing!
This is a technical support forum. The millons and millions of people who don't have problems do not come here. You don't go to an emergency room when you're not sick or injured, do you?

I came across this issue on my iPad and iPhone today. I did some research and it was suggested that you need to change your region to wherever in the world you originally purchased the app.
This worked for me.
I had tried signing in and out, deleting apps and resetting my devices; because I had never used any Apple ID except for my own personal one, I thought that those options would sort it. I changed my region to the uk (where the apps were purchased) and now they have updated with no other issues.

You can update iPhone software on any computer, what you don't want to do is sync if this is not the computer the phone normally syncs with. So, first disable auto-sync under iTunes>Preferences(under the edit menu if using Windows)>Devices. Connect the phone & hit the Check for Updates button. When finished, eject the phone, DO NOT SYNC. Updating iPhone software does not touch any user data or settings.
Now the warning: That's how things normally work, and it is rare that things go wrong, but if they do & this is not the computer the phone normally syncs with, you could lose ALL of the data on this phone. -

USB recovery disk was used to recover your system when it encounter problem. You can try to use it to fix your problem instead reinstall system. However, there is no method to keep your program whenreinstall system.

My iPhone 5s on ios 8.1.2 is stuck at Apple logo or recovery mode.. To fix this issue, i need to update it to ios 8.2 through itunes.. I want to ask that my data i.e. Photos and other personal data would be removed after updating it or not..?

Please help me sort out this issue..Recovery mode doesn't mean that all your data is already lost. You only lose your data if you restore it.
When you plug the phone is into iTunes hold down the home button. iTunes may then give you the option JUST to update the software first. This should not get rid of any data.
However, if iTunes is only giving you the option to RESTORE and update, then you will lose your data I'm afraid.

Ok, so a few years ago, I bought an iPhone 4 (I was in Zimbabwe, now in the US) that was factory unlocked from what I can tell. Reason why I "THINK" it's unlocked is because
1. It did not have Cydia installed when I got it, just stock with native apps only
2. Running on 02.10.04 Baseband (That cannot be Cydia Unlocked), I manage used several Network Providers and all Sim cards worked and still do, no problems. (Using T-Mobile Now)
3. Model Number is MC603B, and according to my research, it is a factory unlocked model.
Unless im mistaken???????
Here we go. The iOS 5.0.1 is out and I am now running iOS 4.1 (Jailbroken), which is really bakward, so loads of tweaks and apps cant run on my outdated iOS and i want iOS 5. I have heard people all over the internet complain that after the iOS5 upgrade, their phones locked-up and can't dowgrade or activate after the update, so if that happens im STUCK forever, and I really dont know what to do!!!!
HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS:
1. Is my phone really factory unlocked, based on what I listed above? Or is there any other way of checking???
2. If I DO update, do I risk locking-up my phone????

Thanks alot guysWell, since the iPhone is not officially sold in Zimbabwe, & that's where you purchased it, you can pretty much count on the fact that it was hacked to unlock it, regardless of what you think or see. Thus, you can be pretty much assured that if you update software your phone will be re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to.

10.7 update and now my iphones/ipod is not being recognized in windows 7 service pack 1. I have 2 iphones and an ipod 3G. I have to go into services and stop the apple mobile device and start it up again to get my devices recognized. Anyone else having the same issue? One of the iphones is not upgraded to the new iOS, the other phone and the ipod are updated.

You probably need to update to Snow Leopard10.6.8
Click Apple icon top left and click Software Update and keep doing that until it says software is up to date.
That should bring your itunes to the correct version.
