Should I use Adobe Dynamic Link to create my DVD?

I recently downloaded Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 from the Creative Cloud.  It included Adobe Encore CS6.  If I am producing a DVD without menus, do I encode the video first or use the Dynamic Link and let Encore do the transcoding?

Reason: more searchable title

There's a whole list of threads on using Encore to make DVD/BluRay discs. You can search for it, and there's also a couple blog/info posts on the Adobe main site about the techniques for doing this. Highly recommended that you look this stuff up.
Now ... for direct answer, you use the DVD/BluRay export preset to make the twin files, one video (mpeg-2) and one audio (wav), that you then import into Encore.

  • Why does my Premiere CC 2014 crash every time I use "Adobe Dynamic Link" and have After Effects CC 2014 open in the background?

    Here are my MacBook Specs:
    MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
    2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
480 GB Solid State SATA Drive
    750 GB SATA Disk
I use "Adobe Dynamic Link" mainly for typography and some animation, but not to the point where it would stress out Premiere CC 2014.

    Chris,
It doesn't crash for everyone.  A person could be forgiven for saying, in return, "Please sort out your **** system problems".
Trust me when I say many, many problems are caused by the computer system setup not being up to the needs of this cutting-edge graphics software.  Photoshop is heavily dependent on the GPU, and GPU drivers are notorious for having bugs (they're primarily written to run games).
However, that being said, recent driver releases from both ATI and nVidia do actually work pretty well with Photoshop CC 2014.
What video card do you have?
What display driver version are you running?
If you're unsure how to tell these things, go into Photoshop, choose Help - System Info, copy the data, and post it here.

  • Adobe dynamic link - ACROSS multiple boxes on one LAN?

Looking for help using ADOBE DYNAMIC LINK - But not one machine but between 2 different machines on one network - one AE, one Premiere CC: We need to be able to at least move between different motion graphics and editing machines.
I want the animator to stick her file on the server - i put it in the timeline - it needs work - she changes the file - keeps the same name - and it refreshes and updates.
To me - it is what Adobe is offering about working in the cloud, just is just a local cloud - so it should work?
This post DOES NOT cover our need but i assume it IS possible?

    Thanks.

No, Dynamic Link does not work between multiple computers.

  • PROBLEM - Adobe Dynamic Link - Premiere Pro to After Effects - CS5.5 Master Collection

To use Adobe Dynamic Link with After Effects is required Adobe Production Premium
How can I fix this problem? I have CS5.5 Master Collection

So after reinstalling all the Ap did it fix the dynamic Link issue? What was the solution. It appears that avanishdivya
gave some bad advice. I can't find any other threads that are discussing this issue except http://forums.adobe.com/message/5571320 and this didn't work for me either.

  • Adobe dynamic link-From after effects to Premiere

I have few sequences save in different After effects versions because my project was to big to work with one final after effect version.
I would like to use Adobe dynamic link to send all the seuqences into Adobe premiere to make a "one sequence" that I could export.
But when I am using Adobe dynamique link, I need to close and open the differents versions saved in after effects.
When I do it, the sequences appear offline in Premiere.
What can I do to see all the sequences online?Do I have to work with affter effects online all the time?
    Thanks a lot,
    Alice

First and foremost, running After Effects is not necessary so as to be able to work with dynamically linked compositions in Premiere Pro. PrPro invokes headless version of AE in the background so as to communicate with dynamically linked comps.
Second, while working with dynamically linked compositions avoid incremental numbers at the end of your AE projects names. Better yet, avoid incremental numbers at the end of your dynamically linked comps names as well in both AE and PrPro by giving them meaning names instead of default ones. If you really need to include incremental numbers in those names, insert them somewhere in the middle. The bug related to incremental numbers at the end of the names was biting strongly in CS5.5 (don't remember if CS5 was affected as well) and was claimed as fixed in CS6.

  • Encore locks up when using the Adobe Dynamic Link to import Bluray video.

When I try to import video into Encore by using either the Adobe Dynamic Link or by opening Encore and importing as a timeline,  Encore locks up during the "Prepare Transcode Settings" .  I have Adobe Master Suite CS5 which was a download version.  I've had this software since May 2011.  I have been able to use import video in the past, but there seems to be an issue with Encore now.  Has the program been corrupted? If I need to download Encore to repair it, how do I do this?
    Thanks
    Joe Miller

    Some other things to read...
Reset Corrupted Preferences = Press/HOLD Ctrl+Alt+Shift while starting program
As well as the below, right click the Encore icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

  • Does pages create pdf files or should i use adobe

I need to have software that can read and create pdf files.  Does "pages" do this or should I use adobe?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Pages can create PDF files. To do it, create a document and, when you have finished it, choose the File menu (on the menu bar) > Export > PDF, so you will be able to read this document with any other PDF software.
However, Pages can't read PDF files. To read PDF files, Mac OS X comes with Preview, so you don't need to get Adobe Reader to use PDF files on your Mac

  • How useful is Adobe Dynamic Link???

So I want to start using this dynamic link. I already own Premiere CS4 and use After Effects 7.0. In order to use the link i have to purchase the whole suite (upgrade) for $1,100 - I called adobe. The only program I want to purchase is After Effect CS4 and that will cost $299.Why don't they offer the dynamic link without having to buy the whole suite? I own CS2 for PS, InDesign and Illustrator so I don't see the need to purchase the whole suite. Is it worth it to spend $1,100? Anyone else use the new suite???

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

Thanks... yeah i don't really mind working the "old way" especially with this new machine that is shipping in the mail. It's suppose to render drastically faster then my current workstation, so I guess we'll see. I think i'll get the new AE and wait till later
This is your best bet for now.
In theory, Dynamic Link would be great.  But a Dynamic Linked After Effects comp in a Premiere timeline won't play back in anything close to real-time, which makes it very difficult to work with.  So I still render out from AE at the highest quality I can, then import the rendered file into Premiere.
Hopefully Dynamic Link in CS5 will be usable, utilizing GPU-acceleration.

  • With Adobe Dynamic Link do you have to buy a suite to be able to use it or can you buy just After Effects and Premiere?

The company I work for has me on Sony Vegas and After Effects right now.  I am working on getting over to Premiere.  On my personal computer I bought the suite and I have Adobe Dynamic Link and love it.  My questions is since they purchased After Effects already would Adobe Dynamic Link work if they just bought Premiere.

    > CS6 will only be available for purchase until May 30th and then Creative Cloud takes over completely.
That is not correct. We are still selling CS6 software for quite some time. Where did you see an indication otherwise?
Regarding Dynamic Link: In the current versions of the applications, no suite is required. For example, if you have the single-application subscriptions for both Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC, Dynamic Link works between them. Dynamic Link is still limited to working between applications that share the same major version (i.e., CS6 with CS6, CC with CC, and so on).

  • Issues with transferring CS5 project with Adobe Dynamic Links to CS5.5

    Hello all!
Has anybody encountered the issue with transferring CS5 projects with Adobe Dynamic Links to CS5.5?
When I try to do it the movie hangs on at some clips which are AE compositions...
    The CS5 project works perfectly.
All AE CS5 compositions are transerred to AE CS5.5 compositions.
All 'old' Adobe Dynamic Links in Pr CS5.5 project are changed to 'new' ones (I mean, links to AE CS5 composition changed to links to AE CS5.5 compositions)...
    Any help will be appreciated

Tried to play around. Realised that a solution should be somewhere around re-rendering, 'cos linked AE compositions were always displayed in yellow as if they were original footages - even I changed a composition within AE, just transitions, if they were, changed to red in Pr Pro sequence...
However, I was unable to re-render 'Entire Work Area' even after deleting all Render Files, just 'Effects in Work Area'...
Then I simply created a new sequence and copied and pasted all the clips from original sequence. Now I was allowed to 'Render Entire Work Area'.
    Voilà!

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence grayed out in Adobe Dynamic Link

I'm using PPro CC, and encore CS6. I have created a finished sequence in Premiere Pro, and I want to bring it into Encore. When I go to -> file -> adobe dynamic link, the premiere pro sequence option is grayed out. Why?

OK, well that explains it. Does that mean that if I import a PProCC sequence into encore,
It means you can't import the sequence itself. You must export a file of some kind from PR/AME, then import that. And yes, there is no way to get your CC projects to update automatically to Encore. You must export a fresh file. You can use "replace asset" and such to simply changing the file.
I went to the link above, and was somewhat distressed to see that the industry is moving away from physical media in favor of streaming. Won't happen in my lifetime, but a world without books and records and DVDs and CDs, etc.? Scarey!
Adobe needed some excuse, and that was theirs. There is clearly a very significant number of users that are a) event videographers/editors who must deliver DVD/bluray to clients and b) hobbyists who want the disk format for themselves and to share. My favorite guesses are a) that Rovio's takeover of Sonic/Roxio voluntarily or involuntarily squeezed Adobe financially or b) they don't want to invest the dollars in other aspects of fixing/upgrading Encore.

  • Adobe Dynamic Link

    Hey Everyone:
    Just curious about something.
When using the Adobe Dynamic Link feature in Encore, I import an After Effects project for a menu (or menu transition; basically whenever I use the AD Link). As with most any project I want to make a change to the AE project I imported so i go into AE and fix it, however my changes are not displayed in Encore. This is no big deal but I know the whole point of the Dynamic Link is so you can see instant changes when going from program to program.
The link works as it should when I'm using premiere, but it seems like the projects are not updating themselves in Encore when I change it in AE.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks!
    Tony

So is Pr Seq the file name I will look for?  And can I expect to find it in the default folders set up when I installed CS4?
When you are in Encore and import a Pr Seq , navigate to the Pr Project name and when you select that the sequences inside the Pr project will be displayed.    There are no OS file names associated with the Sequences because they arent rendered yet or need even to be rendered.
Take care to be patient when you click on the project name; it can take several seconds for it to lookup and display the sequences in the right pane.

  • Grey Adobe dynamic link

    Hi,
I purchased CS4 Web premium which comes with Soundbooth.  I later purchased Premiere Pro CS4.  When I try to use File>Adobe dynamic link>Import Premiere Pro Sequence, "Import Premiere Pro Sequence" is greyed out.  Also, if I go to import - it looks as if Premiere Pro files are not supported?
    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Randy

You need to create a multi-track file. File>New>Multitrack File (Ctrl+Shift+N). At this point, you will be able to import using dynamic link from either PPro or AE. If I may ask, why are you importing from PPro? You're better off dynamic linking from PPro to Soundbooth, that way you'll receive immediate changes applied to PPro when you change something in Soundbooth.

  • Does Adobe Dynamic Links slow down the rendering process ?

    Hello everybody,
I have a question concerning Adobe Dynamic Links.
    This is my problem :
I work on After Effects. I have a composition that is rendered quite fast. (almost in real time...)
But when I open the linked comp in Premiere Pro, it lags as hell. Maybe 2x, 3x slower.
So I'd like to know why Adobe Premiere Pro is slow, while After Effects is fast ?
    Is this normal ?
What can I do about it ?
    Thanks,
    Regards.

Because you wouldn't want After Effects to take over all resources from Premiere Pro when you are working primarily in Premiere Pro and just using After Effects as a helper application through Dynamic Link.
But I primarly see this when I'm exporting via AME. This pulls in not only PPro, but also AE, etc., all through DL. And everything comes to a halt whenever a lower third shows up to be rendered, because AE serializes the process. So my eight core processor becomes a one core processor until that seven seconds or so of footage goes by. And that, is silly. Sorry to have to call it what it is. And it's a serious performance problems that Adobe should address and fix. Truly.
I guess my "real" question is, why is this an Abobe problem in the first place? This is, or at least should be, an OS resource allocation and scheduling problem. Same as memory allocation should be handled by the OS's Virtual Memory system and not by Adobe. I was taught that problems like this were the whole point behind the a multi-tasking scheduler.  Yeah, I know -- back then we had Unix and VMS, and today we have Windows and OSX. This is... progress?
