2 MACs - Can I use .mac to sync POP emails from MAIL when traveling

I use Yahoo Business (POP) email with the MAC MAIL software. I use a PowerBook G4 at home and just got a new iBook G4 for travel. I want to set up the travel computer and MAIL to receive and send mail while on the road. 2 Questions:
1) In a perfect world: I want to sync the emails (both sent and received) I worked with on the road with my home computer so I don't have to re-do the work I just did on the road. Can I use .mac to sync my mailbox folders before downloading the messages at home or will this corrupt the library file and make me rebuild my folders every time? I know I can set up the MAIL account to leave the received message on the server for my home computer to download, but this causes a lot more work!
2) If (1) is not possible, how can I capture the files I sent on the road to my home computer SENT folder? I save all sent messages at home.

Via the .Mac website, you can have .Mac check the POP account's incoming mail server to download received messages from the POP account to your .Mac account's Inbox mailbox.
In the interim, send a change of email address to all contacts providing your .Mac email address and start sending messages with your .Mac account.
When creating a .Mac account in Mail - Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages are stored on the server by default along with received messages. If you want to keep all these mailboxes/messages synchronized with Mail on both Macs, make sure these settings for the account are the same with Mail on both Macs.

What should I use to clean the trackpad?

I bought iKlear to clean the screen of my MacBook and it works great. I have been using it for years on my iBook. I was reading the directions and it says not to use it on the trackpad. I had used it on my iBook trackpad with no problems. What should I use then to clean my trackpad? Why should I not use it on my trackpad? Anyone have suggestions or used iKlear on their trackpad despite iKlear's warnings?

A very slightly damped cotton cloth works wonders. Just be sure to wring it out as best you can so no liquid gets anywhere you don't want it to be.

Can I safely use mac clean?

I'm having trouble streaming video, specifically the video pauses and will not restart. Rebooting laptop helps for awhile, but not very long. I'm thinking I need to clean the temporary files, cookies, etc. Thanks for any help.

"Accumulated filth" is NOT the problem, and Mac Clean will not help you.
A failing Hard drive may be the problem, so top priority is to make adequate backups in case your drive stops working completely.
Not having adequate RAM is often the reason for performance problems. Quitting un-needed Applications and especially sync-ing Applications can help.

Using plastic film that came w/iphone as screen protector

I have been using the plastic film that was on the iphone screen in the box as a screen protector. Everything works the same with it on as off. I just cut the tab on the bottom off. The only problem is it covers the earhole and I just use my headphones or speaker on calls.

I use Preview on my MacBook Pro a lot to annotate PDF's. What app should I use on iPad that is the closest to Preview? I need to annotate pdf's on my iPad and go back and forth from my MacBook Pro with these annotations. Thanks

Why doesn't Apple just make a Preview app that works seamlessly for iPad and iPhone, just as it does on Mac's?

I'm a student and I use the app iAnnotate PDF all the time for many different things. I have it connected to Dropbox and can upload a document, highlight, annotate, etc...and then load the changes back into Dropbox. It's very helpful. Not sure if that's what you're looking for or not. I'm not familiar with Preview. This app was about $10 when I bought it, but it's been worth it. Very usefull app. Hope this helps.

How do I use a font that a user of my screen saver might not have?

I am trying to do a little experiment with fonts. I downloaded a font that was not previously installed on my computer, and am trying to make a "Hello, World!" screen saver with that font(which I installed).
The problem is that I can not even use that font. When I attempt to make a "Hello, World!" screen saver with that font, it uses the default font. Here's the code:

I think I solved the problem. I just put the font and the screen saver in a pkg file, and make the pkg file install the font. Or I guess I could keep the font in my screen saver and test it that way. Either way, I found the answer.

Should I use a keyboard cover with the new retina screen?

Someone in an apple store told me I shouldn't use a silicone keyboard cover on the new 13" macbook pro w/ retina because apparently theres not enough space for it when the laptop is closed and its been causing faults? Anyone know anything about this?

It also blocks the air intake.
I use the original thin foam packaging that comes between the screen and KB from the factory to reduce debris gettting in and the monitor getting impressions.
Since it's light and thin, lets air get in under it and into the machine throught the keyboard, deflects spills it's been great for the last few years.
I use a external keyboard and scroll wheel mouse to take the wear and tear, I hate trackpads anyway.

When hotsyncing Z22, all information was lost due to a "Fatal error" message that popped up on the screen of the Palm.

I clicked hotsync on the Palm, and everything was syncing. All of a sudden, the "fatal error" popped up on the Palm. The only button there was to press was a "reset" button. After clicking that, all my information was lost. Does anyone know how I can get this back. Please help!

What is this annoying gray square that popped up on my screen that has home device etc on it?

I have a small traveling square with a round dot in the center that goes from position 12 to position 3 to position 6 or position 9 or back to 12. Or stays at one of those four. When you click on it, the display says home, device, Amorites and Siri. How can I get rid of this obnoxious thing. How the heck did I get it in the first place?

That would be the Assistive Touch option. Check: Settings - General - Accessibility - Assistive Touch = Off.
