Should my file name be index?

Does my main page file name need to be index? Or can I name it something relevant to the page topic in hopes of being found more easily by search engines?

The home page, that is the page you want people to see when they type in your domain name eg: www.example.com does need to be named index.html (or default.html or whatever your host suggests it should be)... otherwise, people will have to type in the full path to the page if you use something else. eg: www.example.com/mainpage.html
All pages linking from the index page can be named anything you like, eg : aboutus.html; services.html etc,

How do i change my existing HTML file names for indexes. The Html file name is disabled when we click on properties.
Ex: Index Keywork : Architecture
Old HTML Page/URL =: Architecture.htm
I want to change Old HTML Page/URL =: Architecture.htm to architecture_new.htm

That's because you are looking at the Properties and that is not how you create index entries.
Highlight the Index keyword ("Paste" in this example). It shows below what is already linked. If you delete that, the keyword will be displayed in bold to show no keyword is attached. You can add further keywords by dragging them from the Topic List.

Frameset name and index.html

Hi:
I am new student taking Dreamweaver 8 at local college. We
have been working on frames and I am so very confused. I have read
via other resources that one should save a frameset as index.html.
The instructor did not offer this information, allowing us to think
we should have frameset page and an index page.
Today, we had hands on mid term and we were instructed to
make a frameset consisting only of 2 frames, which sounded easy
enough...we were asked to name the frameset by a particular name
and then to dowload an index.html. We were then asked to insert
navigation bar on frame page, which had no other content... I am so
confused now...Most of us did not finish the exam. Please, please
help me....Should the frameset name be index.html? Thank you so
much.

Apparently so is your teacher. This is inexcusable. Frames
are SOOO 90's.
There are MANY reasons not to use them and not to teach them.

did you mean
to UPLOAD something to the server? You can see that you have

How to Get Albums in File-Name-Order Photo

When I updated my iPod Touch to V4.0 and iTunes (V9 on Windows XP) re-synced it, I found that my photo albums were now in Picture Date order rather than PC file name order. I tried several things that didn't work.
What worked was using the Photoshop Essentials Organizer to change the picture date on all the photos in an album to the same date and time (this can be done to all selected photos in one operation).
I did the sync in two steps. First I moved the album out of the iTunes photos directory and then synced my iPod which deleted the album. Then I moved it back and re-synced.
Does anyone know of an easier trick? I’ve already submitted a feedback item to Apple that they should make file-name-order an option in iTunes

The trick that I used is to append the URL with the name of the file. So if your url is "http://domain.com/attach", use "http://domain.com/attach/filename.doc". IE and Netscape parse the URL to determine what the filename is, so by placing this text at the end, you essentially let the browsers know what the filename is. :)

I need to pop up a print screen as in excel or word.. like the pop up should include 'File Name, no of copies etc.'
Mainly it should ask for the file name....
I used the FM "GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS", but it is not asking for the file name....

ACH File name

Hi Gurus,
We have two payment methods for ACH file generation. One for currency CAD and another one for USD.
But variant which will be created in OBPM4 is not payment method wise, right? So what should be file name which gets saved in directory and how it will be differentiated with each other.

As I know, we can download ACH file with two ways.
First one is using F110 transaction.
When we go to the DME administration transaction, the system pops up the small windows for asking file name.
The second one is in SAPFPAYM program.
As you know, we can specify file path and file name.
We would like to use both of above methods with our new file convention ACRun DateRun ID.

File name vs. public class?

Could anyone tell me that why should the file name be the same as the only public class in that file? Is there any reason for this rule? Thanks in advance. I really appreciate it.

I have a requirement in PI 7.0 and the scenario is synchronous which is as follows:
- XI will read a flat file which has the naming convention Plant_100.txt where 100 is the plant number , after reading the file XI will trigger standard BAPI call to ECC system.
- ECC system will return an response message back to XI , XI need to need write this message in to a log file and the file name should be Plant_100_logs.txt.
- Here plant value 100 is neither passed to ECC system nor this value will be returend back from ECC system . So , is there anyway where we can make sure that plant value can be added to the log file without using an BPM in between ??

Using Dynamic configuration in Message mapping you can read the source file name and creta the target file name as same as source file.
For BAPI call in Mapping you can use RFC lookup.
So crete a scenario FILE to log FILE
In mapping using RFC lookup make a BAPI call.
And use dynamic configuration to set the file name.

File upload Name -- Attachment Name should be the same as the File Name!!!

Im trying to upload a file in my custom OAF page, I need to read the file that iam trying to upload and need to display that name.Currently its displaying as "view"
and I also need to disable clear button.
I have gone through the jdev doc ,forums and i have checked with some standard OAF pages and written the follwing code:

Till this point, s7 is printing correctly (i,e what ever file name im trying to upload its displaying correctly).
when i add the below line its giving error :

Can not find the variable "fileUploadData" the class ....
I have also tried the below one:

Even after importing all the required packages, still its throwing error:

Source and target directory file name should be same

Hi,
How can i generate the same file name in target directory without date and Timestamp.
for eg., Source File name : yeswanth.txt
and target File name also : yeswanth.txt
Note : here source side the file yeswanth.txt is constant and whenever it moves to target directory...should be overwrite.

But, here it should be overwrite the existing file.

I am working on file(NFA) to SFTP scenario with out mapping . I am getting file from AL11 folder with the name of XXXX_20150404033752.csv and receiver side (in PI) im getting file name as XXXX_20150404-040420-142.csv. But it should be 20150404033752_001_csv with out "-" and it should be sequence of 001, 002,... .
For example, if the files were given a name corresponding to a time stamp, the first file might be called 20150404040420_001. The second would be called 20150404040420_002. These files were both named after the date and time stamp April 04, 2015 at 04:05:02.
Without doing any mapping can I do this?

If you want to append a counter to the source filename
enable ASMA for file name in sender and receiver channels
Set the file construction mode in receiver channel to counter
under counter def, maintain "_" as prefix and counter to 000

Do you expect two files with the same timestamp? There should be some difference in the filename right as you can't have 2 files with samename.
If appending the counter doesn't work, either you have to go for a java mapping/AM to set the file-name as you want.

FTP adapter should take file path and name at runtime..

Hello All,
I have requirement of getting the file from remote machine into local machine..thinking FTP adapter should help me to do this..
I dont need to poll the remote directory. rather I will pass the exact path and name of the file to be fetched during runtime as an input to the bpel process.
How to configure the FTP Adapter to receive the file path runtiime and gets it to local machine.
Is it doable using ftp adapter..?
