Should my iCloud email work on Tiger?

My mail on OSX Tiger has stopped sending mail on my iCloud account via any of the following:
smtp.me.com
smtp.mail.me.com
p01-smtp.mail.me.com
p02-smtp.mail.me.com
p99-smtp.mail.me.com
it complains about certificate and then won't login to the server using my password.
Any thoughts?

Here's the current requirements for iCloud.
iCloud requires iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPad, or iPad 2; a Mac computer with OS X Lion; or a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Outlook 2007 or 2010 or an up-to-date browser is required for accessing email, contacts, and calendars). Some features require a Wi-Fi connection.

In the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete the account and re-enter it - sometimes that resolves this
Or IMHO the best long term solution is to set Apple Mail as the iPhoto e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences and use it - it has a number of advatages and has fewer problems

Should my iCloud email match my Apple ID

I am creating a iCloud email and am unsure if it needs to match my Apple ID email in order to work. If not, then I would choose something else. What's the scoop? Thanks.

It doesn't need to be the same. If you're creating a new account, you can choose whatever you want.

When will my icloud email work again?

Please, someone let me know when...and a fix is known, how I get it working again. Realy frustrating. Can't get it on iphone, web or Mail. Help!

ICloud email address creation - clarification

I have just downloaded iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows on my PC. It is asking me to create an iCloud email address that has a @icloud.com extension. It tells me that once I create this username, it can't be changed so I want to ensure I am understanding this correctly.
Example Only (i have no idea if this Apple ID and password belongs to anyone as I just made it up for the purposes of this example):
My Apple ID: [email protected]
Password: 123456
Should the iCloud email address I create be: [email protected]? And the password: 123456
Please advise because like I said, I want to ensure I am doing this right.

Your @icloud.com email address can be anything you want it to be, as long as it isn't already taken. (You will get an alert if you try to use an email address that is already taken.) The password will be the same as your iCloud account, as the email account is linked to your iCloud account.

Unusable icloud email

email on icloud is very very slow. It takes over one minute of "loading" before I can see the mail in my inbox AND everytime I go to a new folder it "loads" for 20-30 seconds. Basically icloud email is unusable. Is there a setting I need to check? or some fix to this?

I know absolutely nothing about your PC, without such information it is hard to make a suggestion.

ICloud Email not working with Outlook 2013

I'm trying to set up my iCloud email on my Outlook 2013, using this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864
But it keeps asking me for smtp password, even though the password is right.
Anyone help please?

I am unable to get my Iphone connected to iCloud because I can't verify my account. It says I should check an email (not my defaut e-mail account) for instructions which I can not find. I have the purchase confirmation, bu tnot instructions to "verify"

I have been trying to activate my icloud on my mackbook pro running the latest lion 10.7.3 for the last 2 weeks without any luck. It says verifiction e-mail sent check your e-mail, but I never get any e-mail checke all folders no e-mail from apple. Is somebody have the same proble? New iCloud email account not working - duplicate/ambiguous directory match error

I set myself up a new iCloud account this morning once I got iOS 5 loaded on my iPhone 3GS. I was able to create a new @me.com email address, but I think I might have stepped on someone else's existing address as when I send it email, I get a rejection immediately with "duplicate/ambiguous directory entry". iCloud email doesn't work on iCloud.com, and iCloud mail account on the iPhone tells me the user or password is incorrect.
Other than that, iOS 5 is working great so far!

Same symptoms - let's look at the "cause". I was digging in my iPhone settings and although I did everything as prompted in the iCloud setup here is what has actually happened under the hood.
First - What iCloud guided me to do.
•I had a @mac Apple ID I decided to use it for iCloud
•iCloud said I neeeded a new @me address to use mail and iMessaging and asked me to set one up
•I set up a new @me email address
Sencond - The Results
•I can receive email at my new @me address (expected)
•I can login to iCloud online with my old Apple ID (expected)
•I can not send outgoing mail - error on password (unexpected)
Third - Under the Hood (Settings that are a little odd)
On my iPhone, under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, etc -> iCloud -> Account,
At the very bottom under "Advanced" is the email info, now this should be the new active @me address but its NOT! It's my old AppleID with the @mac address - which of course no one can use for "real email" anymore.
iCloud on my phone is attempting to use my @mac address for outgoing messages!!!! ARGH!
WORSE is you can not edit this! You can click and see details, change the "name" but you can not change the address!
I think this might be the issue for all of us on this thread - check it out and see. If so it's something we will def. have to have a fix from apple for. :-( That or perhaps delete your iCloud account, your existing Apple ID and get a new @me Apple ID that will work for email as well. (PITA!) I hope we get a fix from Apple.

Icloud email stopped working with outlook 2010 after icloud 3.0 update.,

hope some one can help me out here...
I have had my icloud email set up successfully on my PC (Outlook) for many months, until the icloud 3.0 was released now it doesn't work. I have tried all the usual suspects, I have even gone to the trouble of uninstalling both MS office & icloud control panel then reinstalling them but to no avail. I have tried to manually configure the account in outlook but all I get is an error message "The server responded: 530 5.7.0 No AUTH command has been given"
please HELP?
my config is:
User Info     e-mail: @icloud.com - I have also tried @me.com
Server Info     IMAP
                    imap.mail.me.com     port 993 SSL
                    smtp.mail.me.com - also tried p06-smtp.mail.me.com port 587 TLS & SSL
Logon Info     User name - my primary @me.com - & i have also tried [email protected]
                    followed by my usual password, which i have not changed recently.
as you can see I have tried most of the usual combinations of problems & what others are experiencing but i still can not get it to work.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

ICloud email stopped working with Outlook

Unable to receive iCloud email in Outlook - was working perfectly for ages and suddenly just quit.
When iCloud email is on, Outlook disconnects so Comcast mail won't even work either. I get a continual pop-up asking for the password for the iCloud email address, even though the password is remembered. If I remove the me.com address and have iCloud Control Panel setup email again, outgoing server works but incoming server does not.
Calendar, Notes, and Contacts are all still working with Outlook and iCloud. All old mail stored in iCloud/iPhone/iPad is unable to be seen on computer now. Very frustrating and annoying since all my old email is in iCloud.
All iCloud is working fine with iPhone, iPad, and iCloud online. Just cannot get mail into my computer where I want to read it as I work all day and want to have a copy stored.
Have searched for an answer and been unable to find this addressed.

To tell me to mark it as spam is just not good enough. I do not want this rubbish cluttering my inbox.

Nobody want to receive spam, but it's a fact of life. Apple is certainly not selling your address on to spammers, and it's possible that the spammer has been guessing at possible addresses and has hit on yours.
A good third-party program for dealing with spam is SpamSieve - after a training period it's very good at identifying spam and shunting it to a Spam folder where you can check it and delete at your leisure. It works with iCloud.

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. icloud Email does not work. When running Connection doctor it indicates I must check or uncheck SSL. This has not fixed the problem

iCloud email addresses (@mac.com, @me.com and @icloud.com) require SSL. Is your address an iCloud address or someone else?

ICloud email no longer working on Window 7.8 Phone

I have been receiving my Apple emails on my Windows 7.8 Phone successfully for the last 2 years. About 3 months ago emails could no longer be sent or received and I typically get the following error codes dependant upon how I have my IMAP/SMTP settings configured; 800c2746 or 80072FA8.
Apple email is working fine from my Android tablet and also from my Windows 7 PC and I've tried replicating these settings on my phone without success. I've googled the problem and tried all the different set up options I can find but not have worked. I'm beyond frustrated now and I suspect Apple has broken something during the recent iCloud work for IOS or Yosemite as nothing has changed on any of my devices and it's only my Windows phone that no longer works.
Does ANYONE have a Windows 7 Phone (mine is a Nokia 800) that is successfully sending and receiving iCloud emails as of today, 2nd November 2014. If you do would you be kind enough to tell me what server settings you are using.

We have exatcly the same problem with Samsung omnia 7 (Windows phone 7.8).

We have this problem since mid september and no solution.
