Should optimize animation "actively" do anything?

i was just wondering, in an animated gif, should the optimize animation settings in cs5 (both bounding box and redundant pixel removal) "actively" do anything? by "active" i mean affect or alter the frames in any way after clicking "Okay" and prior to saving.
i was just asking because i saw this gif on tumblr and all the layers but the first have a lot of transparent pixels, which i feel is what photoshop should be doing with my gifs if i'm correctly understanding what the optimize animation settings do. all the animated gifs i've made thus far always lack any transparency even though some of the pixels are exactly the same.

Sorry, i should have made it clearer in my posting.
I am creating these animations externally (from another tool) such that they can be viewed using Acrobat.
I know it can be done with U3D because the format supports animation. I can create the u3d info from my application, and store it in a PDF container.
I was wondering if the same can be done for PRC - does the format itself support the concept of animated entities - i.e. parts moving (and perhaps other properties changing) over time?

If you are trying to use an animated gif in an application, that won't exactly work...you should break the image up into individual frames and transverse them on a timer instead.

Should Kombustor show activity on both cards in SLI...?

Running 2x GTX560Ti in SLI mode, and have had a handful of problems with these since I got them. I finally contacted MSI and had them send me a stock BIOS for the cards so that I could re-flash them, and that seemed to solve my problems. However, I just randomly decided to run Kombustor today for the first time since a system wipe, and I've noticed that only 1 of my cards is showing any activity during the benckmark. The graph for card 1 spikes, but card 2 is almost a complete flatline. Also, temperature climbs for card 1, but not at all for card 2. Is this typical...? I feel like both cards should be carrying the load evenly, but I've never built anything with SLI before so I don't know.

A top level menu item should display its active state if any of its submenu items are active

Example case: I'm designing a Muse site which is basically a portfolio of our work. We design books, doing page layout and covers. We have numerous book categories and sub categories which I put in a horizontal menu. When a given top level category menu item doesn't have a submenu, it is a hyperlink and it displays active state when the browser displays its linked page. But when a given page is displayed from a submenu link, its top level menu item does NOT display active state. I think it should.
For example, we have a "Nostalgia" category which has "Film" and "TV" subcategories. Because the menu item, "Nostalgia" has a submenu containing "Film" and "TV", the label "Nostalgia" is not a hyperlink. The submenu attached to it has the two hyperlinked items "Film" and "TV". When the browser is displaying either linked page, the submenu is hidden. So it would be nice if the top level item, "Nostalgia" would display in an active state.

As per the client requirement, we have assigned the three level status profile to in inquiry process like Block status, Review and approve status.
Block status-It is initial status. After save the document it will be in block status
Review status u2013It is the 2nd status. After review of authorized person, it will be changed as review status.
Approve status- If everything is correct, then higher authority will give the approval for same and will change the status.
Here client requirement is after approval of same inquiry document, it should not allow to anybody to change anything (quantity, material, any addition) in same document with va02 Tcode. Need your support if anything possibility is there for same requirement.

Extreme Optimization trial Activation

hi all,
I want to use extreme optimization library version in a C# solution of mine. I downloaded its trial version from its webpage.Apparently I have to activate it using Extreme.licenseManager. But when I enter my name and activation code, there is an error "The
username,organization or serial number is not valid."
Where can i get my serial number?
I already filled the form in the website and clicked on the activation link.
Can anybody help me?

Job should be "always active"

Hi...
I need to create a report that runs as a always active job, and use something like a queue, to run some specific functions in a regular time period...
But, I can't use a job that runs in a regular time period to do it... I really need a job that be always active.
How can I do this?!

Well... Actually, I need to create a report that simulate a queue... almost as a schedule, but I need that this job still always active... but we can't use a standard job schedule, because we need to maintain, for examplem, some object locks...
We have an example of it, on standard jobs of SAP GRC / SLL-NFe...

Resignation date should be active

When i am doing a resignation or leaving action for an employee on today's date, he is an active employee till the end of the day.tomorrow onwards he should be considered as Inactive emp.
any config setting is to be done so as to maintain like i can give todays date as the start date of resignation action but still it should considered as active on the start date and the next date onwards inactive,

Hi Sikander and others, my requirement is similar to his with a little variation.
Actually when i check the t-code pc00_m40_term, there is a column for notice date and the relieving date.
Suppose i give it 01.12.2011 to 15.12.2011 for a particular employee.
Then i check pa0000, under action type 01, the ending date is 15.12.2011. Now this is the relieving date.
But where is this notice date stored???? that is 01.12.2011.
Actually i want to calculate the notice period days , so that will be 30 - (15.12.2011 - 01.12.2011), so please help me out.

17 Hrs and still no activation, should I reset my iPhone?

I just read on another thread that if you were a verizon customer and entered a dash with your account number, this may be the issue.
Do you think I should reset the activation process / phone? If so, how do I do this?

Animated gif doesn't work with IE7

Jdev 11g, TP4.
I use af:statusIndicator to show activity to the user. If there is communication with the server than gif should be animated.
Therefore I have following skin defined:

problem is solved.
I have installed IE7 on a Windows 2003 Server Edition and used remote desktop client to test the application.
It seems that either a setting on W2003 or the remote desktop client avoid to see the animation.
On locally installed IE7 animated gif's works fine.

Animated GIF files in SWF

I have an FLA file that is utilizing numerous animated GIF
files the files themselves are also rather large. I was hoping that
when rendering the SWF file it would simply render to the
resolution stated and the individual components within the FLA
should not matter. For example, a SWF file of 100 X 100 playing for
10 Seconds would be half the size of the same thing running for 20
seconds. And the number of GIFs or other elements within the FLA
should not matter. This is obviously not the case... however I
would like to know how I can effectively integrate animated GIF
files without hugely impacting SWF file size.

If you are web deployed you can put an animated gif as the image to an iconic button.
Image items cannot display animated gifs.
Anything else you can do through a JavaBean if you need to.

Slow Mavericks and Activity Monitor Uselessness

The recent Mavericks update may have improved performance to some degree, but I'm still experiencing unusual slowness of apps often. One of the most irritating things is that the one app I except to help me shed light on the cause of the slowness, Activity Monitor, typically shows NO unusual heavy system load when I observe apps being slow.
For example, I click on + in Safari to create a new tab. I expect immediate response, an immediate new tab being open. Instead, it takes maybe 5 seconds, perhaps even 10 seconds. So, I immediately switch to the Activity Monitor window to see if I can identify what might have caused the slowness. I think that maybe the CPU become extremely overloaded during that brief period. But I see nothing in Activity Monitor to clue me in as to what the problem was.
To me, this means Activity Monitor is not monitoring relevant activities. I don't know why Safari is slow opening at tab, but whatever it is doing should be an activity that Activity Monitor monitors, since it obviously is something that takes the machine a lot of time to do.
Could a knowledgeable person in Apple's software department respond here and say something about why opening a new tab in Safari takes so long?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

I got the error message:
The document could not be printed
I googled this error message and used the following
solution that worked i.e. it then printed successfully.
Edit > Preferences
Category: Security(Enhancement) 'Enable Protected Mode at Startup'
It was checked, changed it to unchecked.
Category: Documents 'View documents in PDF/Mode'
It was set to 'Only for PDF/A'
Set it to 'Never'
Exited Adobe Reader and restart it. Then it printed.
I had a look on another computer system (Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.10
and MS Window 7) and on this different computer I could print
without doing the above two changes.
I'm a bit puzzled. Why preferences on one system were not
needed on a different system?

Here is an elaborate method of troubleshooting this problem. There may be a simpler method if anybody wants to suggest one.
There is a general technique that is helpful in this situation. I can't give you complete instructions here, and I haven't tested this with regard to bluetooth devices, but here's the gist of it.
Create a second log-on account for your music projects. Configure it so that when you log in to the new music account, the drivers needed for the Bluetooth devices don't load. You do this in System Preferences: Accounts.
When it's time to do music, log out of your usual account and onto the new one.
When you install drivers for any peripheral, you have the option of installing them "for all users" or only for the user account that is active during the installation.
This governs whether the drivers go in root/library or root/Users/your name/library.
If drivers are in root/library, they will load whenever the Mac is booted up and will run for all users.
But if drivers are loaded in root/Users/your name/library, they will only load if you log in as "your name". If you have a second account called root/Users/music account/, and you log in under that, the drivers in "your name" will not load. Get it?
To get this working right you need to be knowledgeable about moving or deleting files in the /library/ directory and subdirectories, and you need to be careful because you can unwittingly cause some damage if you are not careful.
There is also the root/System/library directory, and in general you should never mess around with anything in there or you might hose your system.
In summary, I would start by using the installer programs for your BlueTooth devices and DE-installing all drivers. Reboot. Log back in as your usual user account. Then RE-install each driver and see if the installer program gives you the OPTION to installl for all users or just for this user. Choose the latter. Then log on to your new Music account and see if the problems go away.
