Should PFI I/O Be Set To A Default Setting Before Use?

Hi everyone, I am using the PFI lines on my PXI DAQ Card (6229) for Counter Output frequency generation and Counter Input frequency readings.  I know these lines on power up of the PXI card are set to high impedance mode by default.  Should these lines be set to digital LOW '0' before setting them up for Counter Output or Counter Input use?  Is it good practice to set up the PFI lines to a default state before using them in an application?
Thanks!

Hello testdesign,
Thank you for your inquiry. You do not need to set the PFI lines to any specific value before setting up a Counter Input or Output task. The LabVIEW Example Finder has excellent Counter Input and Output examples if you have any questions on how to program or set up these tasks. These can be found by going to Help » Find Examples » Hardware Input and Output » DAQmx » Counter Input or Counter Output.

    With the Nanos, you should have no problem lending them loaded with audiobooks from Librivox, etc.
    As for the iPod Touches, I'm not sure the question is whether you should allow patrons to set up the device for personal accounts, but whether you can prevent them from doing so. Prepare to to a factory restore every time one is returned.

  • What level should my computer speakers be set at?

    What level should my computer speakers be set at while I edit in order so the final levels are good for DVD and Television sets?

    The best method for monitoring audio is much like the best method for monitoring video; externally. I would not rely too much on your computer's speakers if you're hoping for accuracy.
    It is highly recommended to monitor both video and audio on properly calibrated devices - a TV monitor for the video and nearfield or reference monitors for audio. Nearfield/reference monitor don't color the sound the way regular speaker do. And that's what you need in order to ensure the audio you're editing will sound as you actually want it to.
    As for the speaker volume, it's just as important to watch the meters while listening. Average levels should be around -12db with peaks up to -6 or even as high as -3 if it's something that's supposed to be loud like a gunshot.
    To calibrate the speakers (unscientifically), route the audio output from a TV with normal broadcast or cable channels to the speakers you'll be using. Set the speaker volume to what you consider to be a normal listening level while surfing the various channels. Once you've set the volume level, you'll know when editing that the audio levels you're outputting will be the proper volume for TV viewing.

    This bug figures out also when creating a custom spark ComboBox, then trying to programatically update the userProposedSelectedIndex property. The proposed selected index is selected, but does not apply the same skin as when mouse is on rollover or item is selected due to up and down keys.
    The issue seems like updating the status of the item renderer to rollover or selected to get the same skin applied.
    Please could you attach DropDow nList.as that you edited ?

  • What should the multicast rate be set at?

    what should the multicast rate be set at in the wireless options box?
    mine was set at the default of 6 Mbps but could be set higher: 9, 12, 18 & 24Mbps.
    Any care to explain what it does?
    Regards Simon

    That sets the minimum date rate which is valid for a connection. If a connection can't maintain that rate, the connection will drop.
    A side effect of setting it higher is that your usable range will decrease. You will need to be closer to the base station to maintain a higher data rate.

    Hey Apple Health,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities! There's an article that helps to resolve issues with wireless keyboards. I'd take a look at it, go through the troubleshooting steps, and see if that resolves the issue for you:

    I have pdf files in European languages and want to be able to enter non-English characters in the "find" function. How does one install other character sets for use with Acrobat Pro XI?

    Have you tried applying the update by going to Help>Updates within Photoshop Lightroom?  The update should be using the same licensing?  Did you perhaps customize the installation location?  Finally which operating system are you using?

  • Conversions between character sets when using exp and imp utilities

    I use EE8ISO8859P2 character set on my server,
    when exporting database with NLS_LANG not set
    then conversion should be done between
    EE8ISO8859P2 and US7ASCII charsets, so some
    characters not present in US7ASCII should not be
    successfully converted.
    But when I import such a dump, all characters not
    present in US7ASCII charset are imported to the database.
    I thought that some characters should be lost when
    doing such a conversions, can someone tell me why is it not so?

    Not exactly. If the import is done with the same DB character set, then no matter how it has been exported. Conversion (corruption) may happen if the destination DB has a different character set. See this example :

  • U201CValid Tou201D date set before the date that the report is run u2013 print u201Cnullu201D.

    Hi Experts
    I had a requirement for  the Query, when we executing the through slection screen we will be giving 0fiscyear "from and to" dates. the "Valid to" (0date)  has to check the relation of the Client partner and contract of relationship, if it is within the current date it should dipslay the report with values , if it is out of current date, it should display in the report as "null".
    Logic : This report is based on the u201CClient Partneru201D and the u201CContact ofu201D relationship. If any of these relationships have a u201CValid Tou201D
               date set before the date that the report is run u2013 print u201Cnullu201D.
    Could anyone of you provide the inputs on this.
    Thanks in advance

    Good, it shouldn't be there.
    For your Dock problem,

  • Wich Character Set is used in iWeb?

    My web-server uses utf8unicodeic (default). Symbols like ä, ö, ü or € cannot be displayed on the web-pages, written in iWeb 09 v 3.0.1 (9833). These symbols are essential part of speech and text in Europe, especially in German, these characters are necessary...
    Does anybody know which character set is used in iWeb?
    Can it be changed in iWeb. Ootherwise I can change the character set of the server - but I have to know where to!
    Thanks for your help!

    Does anybody know which character set is used in iWeb?
    Can it be changed in iWeb.
    All iWeb pages are in UTF-8 and this cannot be changed. If your server is really using utf-8, you should not have a problem. It is quite common for servers to force ISO-8859-1 and thus botch iWeb pages. Some fixes for that can be found in the Server Settings section of
    http://homepage.mac.com/thgewecke/iwebchars.html
    Also some servers cannot handle special characters in page names, even though having them in the text is OK. That requires different fixes.
    Another possible problem is when you use an old ftp app for uploading that doesn't do utf-8 right.
    If you will provide the url of your page so I can see what is happening, I can perhaps provide better advice.

  • Setting JMSMessageID using dynamic configuration

    hi all,
    I have a scenario where i need to set JMSMessageId with some value from the payload.
    I tried setting JMSMessageId  using the setproperty but the message id was not set in the jms message.
    If any one has tried the same let me know wat is the settings that needs to be done in the receiver JMS channel.
    Thanks in advance!!

    setStringProperty will work only for hard coded values as per my experience. So messageId will not work here..
    > If any one has tried the same let me know wat is the settings that needs to be done in the receiver JMS channel.
    I have never tried, you can try it under Adapter Specific Message Attributes by ticking the "Specify Additional JMS Message Properties".
    Here in the table under "Name" enter "DCJMSMessageProperty0" and "Java Type" as "String".
    Now in your mapping you have to write an UDF. The UDF should not have any input arguments, I mean while creating the udf just delete the default argument 'a'.
    UDF Code:
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key1 = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS","DCJMSMessageID");
    DynamicConfigurationKey key2 = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS","DCJMSMessageProperty0");
    String MyMessageID = conf.get(key1);
    conf.put(key2, MyMessageID);
    return "";
    Just map this UDF to any root/parent node to fulfil the mapping.
    Note: I have assumed that your sender channel is JMS. In your Sender channel also you have to tick "Adapter Specific Message Attributes" and under that select "JMS Message ID".
    Save and activate the changes.. Try it and let me know..

    Sarvesh

    i clicked erase content and setting before 12 hours but it is not processing till ie not completed till what can i do

    On a 4S the erase should take under 10 seconds. As it has taken longer there must have been data corruption on the phone. Reboot it by holding HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears. If it has not be cleared of all data connect it to iTunes and Restore it. Then erase again.

  • Clock set before 2-24-01 - WHY????

    When the mini was turned on this morning (out of town for a day, so turned it off before leaving) the clock was 2-26-94 with the wrong hour setting and a window that read Clock Set Before 2-24-01 etc. I turned on the automatically set clock date (was not previously on) and connected via ISP and it updated, but from using other Mac's over the past 12 years this usually meant the internal battery needed replacing although most lasted 3 or more years. So this happening in a Mini at one year puzzles me.
    This is second time this has occurred.
    Solution?
    It's Under Apple Care but I didn't get the "quick Reference Guide" that was supposed to be in the original materials or the Apple Care Protection Plan
    materials.
    Mini, 1GB, 1.42 GHZ, 80G   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    I would set the clock now.
    Then, after you have made sure that the date and time are correct, I would turn the computer off.
    Then, un-plug it from it's power supply.
    I would leave the computer un-plugged for maybe 5 or 10 minutes.
    Then, plug it in, and turn it on.
    Check the date and time again.
    If the date and time are incorrect again, then you know that either you're battery is dead or you're system has a PRAM problem somewhere.
    If the machine is under warranty, then I would call to arrange an inspection and have it serviced.
    If it's not under warranty, then you might try replacing the battery.
    The Mac Mini uses a coin-cell battery like the PC's do.
    So, you should be able to obtain a replacement battery at just about any local store. I haven't looked at mine, but it should be a CR2032 which is the same battery used by PC's and the iMac G5.
    You should be able to find a battery at Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, and just about any other place that stocks batteries. The CR2032 is a common stock item at most stores.
    As a side note, at least you're only goes back to 2001. I used to have a computer that would revert back to 1953 or 1956 when it's battery died. I can't remember which year, but I know it was in the 1950's.
    Strange since we didn't even have personal computer's back then (much less the digital timers used in computers). How weird. I know the clock in that machine was made by Dallas Semiconductors.

  • Declare, Set, and Use a variable in a SQL Developer Query

    I come from the SQL Server world and am trying to do something very simple: Declare, set, and use a variable in a query. For example:
    Declare @lastPeriod date;
    Set @lastPeriod = (select max(payperiod) from table 1 where payperiod < current_date);
    Select field 1,
    Field2
    From table2
    Where payperiod = @lastPeriod
    The variable is going to be used in more areas in the query which is why I am simply not using a Sub-query in the where clause. I appreciate any assistance.

    This forum is for issues with the SQL Developer tool. You'd get more response in the SQL And PL/SQL forum.
    That said, read up on bind variables and substitution variables.
    Whenever you can you should use Bind variables (e.g. *:lastPeriod* ), as they increase performance. In sqldev, there's no need to declare as you will be prompted to enter them on execution (F9), but you do if you execute as script (F5) (e.g. VARIABLE lastPeriod VARCHAR2(30);).
    Alternatively, Substitution variables (e.g. *&lastPeriod* ) will literally be substituted in your statement before the database parses it. In sqldev, there's no need to declare as you will be prompted to enter them on execution (either F9 or F5), but you can (DEF lastPeriod='TEST'; ).
    Have fun,
    K.

    Can start date be set before valid for date for an equipment?

    Hello,
    Generally when a asset/equipment  is purchased that is the valid from date and when commissioning done and it becomes operational then that date is start up date. So logically start up date should not before valid from date, it could be same.
    Can you elaborate why you want start up date before valid from date ?
