Should the "filter gallery" filters be displayed in CS5 64 bit filter menu?

I would swear I had the "filter gallery" filters available (artistic, brush strokes, sketch...) from CS5 64 bit. But tonight I realised I can only see them in CS5 32 bit, not in the 64 bit version. Is this normal?
Please note I'm *not* talking about them being grayed out due to the image being in 16 bit. It's just that they do not appear on the menu as they do in the 32 bit version. I've tried copying the filter gallery.8bf file from 32 version folder to 64 one, but it doesn't work.

Thanks, I was pretty sure they should be there, but since I don't use them often, I was in doubt.
I can't think of anything I did to remove the filter gallery - I'm really intrigued about how could it disappear (?). I supposed the 32 and 64 bit version of the 8bf file would be different, but wanted to give it a try just in case...
After wasting some time trying to find the 64 bit "filter gallery.8bf" online, I've decided to just reinstall CS5 and yes, just as you say, now the filters are there. It's a good thing that reinstalling CS5 somehow keeps intact your preferences, workspace and 3rd party plugins! I just had to run the Adobe updater and everything's back to normal.

Thank you for your advice. I followed your directions, but came up with the same results. However, I did discover that whenever I open up the iPhoto Library that is already existing on my MacBook a certain set of pictures shows up. But then when I open up the iPhoto Library from the Hard drive another set of pictures shows up. BUT not ALL of my pictures are showing up on the iPhoto Library from the hard drive. At least the last two years of pictures are not showing up?! Actually, it appears that all the pictures are there from when I started using iPhoto about 5 years ago up until around the time that I got my iMac desktop computer and started using that (2 years ago). I have noticed that more recent videos I have made are showing up in a folder on the hard drive, but will not appear when I open up iMovie?! Any ideas on how to access my pictures from the last 2 years off of the hard drive???

What's the maximum print (page) size supported by CS5 64-bit?

I'm using 64-bit Windows 7, Photoshop CS5 64-bit, and have 24GB of RAM. I've put together some panoramas - big ones, up to 20'-30' long. I know the 32-bit version of Photoshop on a 32-bit processor and OS had a page size limit of around 108" long or so. To print anything longer than that required the use of an expensive RIP.
Does anyone know if my 64-bit goodness will allow me to print panos that are 20 to 30 feet long, without having to purchase a RIP? I'd simply give it a try, but I hate to waste a ton of paper just to find out that it wouldn't print completely. Any ideas?

I think that some print drivers have a limit too, you might want to state what driver you are using.
Some printers do not use a driver, but an export module, that should alleviate all limits.
I remember a very old 30.000 pixel limit, that, I think has been lifted. you want to check the reference documents.

What should should the "Section Number" text variable display?

Regarding the updating text that comes from "Insert > Section Number" and is placed in a layout...
It seems that this text should always update with the section number, as the title states. However, each time I use it/test it, it displays the book title. Is this a normal occurance (and I am just confused by the name?), or should it be displaying something else?

Loading Textures in the Filter Gallery Texturizer

I created a few seamless tiles in PSD format to be loaded into the Texturizer filter under the Filter Gallery in CS6 on a Windows 7 machine.
In the flyout menu, there is an option to LOAD a new texture. I loaded four or five new ones, but only the last one is visible in the list. From all I can tell, I will always have to load a new texture there to be able to use it. The default textures are always loaded : brick, burlap, canvas & sandstone.
In the plug-ins section of the Preferences, there is a check box for : Show all Filter Gallery Groups and Names. What does that do?
Is there something I am missing that would allow me to add a dozen new textures and make them always accessible in the Texturizer plug-in?

It enables/disables the showing of all filter gallery groups and names.
Look at the Filter menu with the preference unticked. Then tick it and look at the Filter menu again - there will be more submenus of filters which are accessed through the Filter Gallery plug-in.

Unfortunately, you're not missing anything that I know of. The majority of Photoshop's filters need an overhaul to bring them into the 21st century, but I guess that'll always be shoved to the bottom of the "to do" list until Adobe hires a significantly larger Photoshop software development team.

Plugins aren't working. Not showing up in my Filter menu.

Ok...latest problem with CS5. I copied over my plugins from my CS4 folder to my CS5 folder and they aren't working. Nothing shows up in the filter menu. Yes, I have rebooted numerous times....and nothing. Any ideas?

Why do some of the filters in the Filter Gallery turn my image orange?

I've been trying to use some of the filters in the Filter Gallery, but most of the filters in the Sketch category inexplicably turn whatever image I'm working with orange. I've tried this with several images, and got the same results. They all give me an image which looks like this:

I may be new to Photoshop, but I don't think that's how it's meant to look ...

Many of the Filter Gallery filters use the foreground and background colors for their effect -- and you have one of those set to orange, and the other set to dark red.

Having trouble with my filters in the filter gallery not all working on the image.

Bas relief filter is not adjusting all the layers. It is applying the filter to a white screen. The underlying image does not show through. I did this successfully yesterday - can't figure out what went wrong.
The image is in RGB color, 8 bit, and I've tried to do this in both TIFF and PSD formats.
I have been creating images by opening the image and then immediately going into the bas relief filter and applying the filter. This time, when i do that, the preview image in the filter panel goes completely white. I can see very, very faintly that there is the design in there, as though the design is hidden well behind a thick layer of white. I adjust the sliders, and it doesn't help.
To make matters worse, it's doing this for a few of the filters! Some of them work just fine, and some don't!
Where I used to be able to go through the entire filter gallery and see how every filter would love on an image, now many of them just show a white screen when I try to apply them, so I know that it's not only the bas relief filter.
I have a job to turn out - so I need to figure out what I've done wrong!

It looks like the File>Info shows the process of changes, and I would love
to know what the settings were before the changes- what the settings were
when I opened the file.

Make sure you document is in RGM 8 bit color depth. Some Filters do nt support hings like CMYK or Lat or 32 bit or 16 bit documents. See it Filter gallery is available when you open a new document RGB 8 bit color.

IR Report Filters - Developer should be able to Label or Name the filter

Wouldn't it be great if a developer was able to Label or Name the IR Report filter and then have the actual filter syntax hidden behind the scenes.
Ex: os.status_id =1 would not show this way but as "Active Companies"

You can achieve this. It may not be exactly what you are looking for (you might want something more flexible from a users point of view), but in the SELECT statement create a column:
CASE os.status_id
WHEN 1 THEN 'Y'
ELSE 'N'
END active_companyAPEX uses the column label as the filter name, so change the column label to 'Active Companies'.
Now go to the report, apply a filter: Active Companies = 'Y'
The filter is not quite there because you still have the = 'Y' part showing
Go to the report definition and change the column's Display Type property to Hidden.
The filter won't be editable anymore and will appear as 'Active Companies'.

How to make a report to display next 18 months of data with when user select a particular month from the filter in power pivot tabular model.

i have a dimension table with month_key having values (201201,201202,201203.......202011,202012) and month name ( Jan 12, feb 12,......NOV 20, Dec 20) and a fact table with columns (month_key ,measure_types, Amount)
My requirement is to create a power pivot report in which when a user select a month from the filter, the report should display the (selected month+18 ) month's data against each type . when JAN 12 is selected ,the jan 2012 +18 = june 2013
, month name should be populated with months till june 2013 only .
i tried creating calculated column"END DATE " in the fact table with dax expression to calculate the 18th monh from the current month as below
month_key END DATE
201201       201306
201202       201307
and thought of filtering the table with month key <= ENDDATE but it is not working as expected. could you please guide me on this ? Is there any time intelligence function that serve the purpose . Iam using excel 2010
..hence could not do any calculation on the report side also. please suggest .

Do you need to show the measure calculated for those 18 months as a total on 1 row, or do you need to select a single month and then display on row filters 18 distinct rows?
The first is trivial as driezl has suggested.
The second will require a second calendar table.
I created this example workbook for a coworker who had a similar problem. You will have to use the disconnected table as your filter and pull your related table onto the rows.
Finally, the easiest way to deal with the sort of date arithmetic you need to do is to restructure your date table to have a series of "Sequential" fields. These fields should be the number of units of time since the beginning of your calendar.
For example, consider a calendar starting on January 1, 2010. For January - December 2010, [MonthSequential] = 1, 2, ..., 12. For January - December 2011, [MonthSequential] = 13, 14, ..., 24, and so on, incrementing by 1 for each sequential month in time.
Assuming you have this set up in your date tables (one related to your model - DimDate - and one disconnected - DisconDimDate) your measure would look like this:
18 Month Measure:=
CALCULATE( [Measure]
, FILTER( DimDate
, DimDate[MonthSequential] >= MAX( DisconDimDate[MonthSequential] )
