Should we be worried?

Question

Not sure if anyone's aware of this yet or not, but two articles published today

and yesterday
http://www.heise.de/english/newsticker/news/69862
are claiming a serious vulnerability has been discovered in both Safari and Mail on OS X, raising concerns over security. Are these issues that have been widely known for a while, or is this something new? Would very much appreciate some knowledgeable opinion on the matter. Thanks.

just add these lines to user .bashrc or /etc/bashrc
and no App would be able to open Terminal without permission.
