Show formatting characters

I am wondering if there is a way to view the formating characters or invisibles in a text box in keynote. There is an easy way in Pages I like that feature and would like it in Keynote as well.
Thanks in advance
Polyfaux

Hello,
Thanks for your post - and sorry for the late response. At the moment it isn't possible to show hidden characters in Buzzword, and I'm afraid I can't say whether it's high on our priority list. If it's a feature you would like to see in the service, I recommend posting it at our Ideas site (http://ideas.acrobat.com) where people can post, vote, and comment on ideas and suggestions for Acrobat.com functions and features.
Thanks again!
Rebecca

  • Formatting characters shown in SQL worksheet in version 2.1.1.64

    Hi,
    Using version 2.1.1.64
    When I type SQL in the SQL worksheet is it showing formatting characters - for example all spaces display as a light grey dot and a carriage return character appears at the end of every line.
    The formatting characters were not displayed initially when I started to use this version. Ì don't know how this setting got turned on but there does not appear to be a Preferences setting to turn it off. Any ideas?

    Tools -> Preferences -> Code Editor -> Display -> Show Whitespace Characters
    should take care of your problem.

  • When calling report in forms, only html format can show chinese characters

    To all experts,
    When I run report by calling run_report_object() in forms, only html format can show chinese characters. If I choose pdf format, garbage characters were shown instead of chinese characters. My settings on server are as follows:
    NLS_LANG=TRADITIONAL CHINESE_HONG KONG.UTF8
    FORMS60_REPFORMAT=PDF
    Do you know why? I hope to print report in PDF format as PDF turned out to be more regular in format. Is there any additional settings required?
    May experts here broaden my mind?

    Assuming that you are using version 6i, try using Oracle9i Reports it has support for multi-byte in PDF.
    By the way, Reports questions will get better response if you send them on the reports forum.

    You have two different ways of generating Japanese PDF files from Reoprts. One is font aliasing and the other is font subsetting.
    <font aliasing>
    You will need to have the following entries in uiprint.txt (example).
    [ PDF ]
    .....JA16SJIS = "KozMinPro-Regular-Acro"
    "MS UI Gothic".....JA16SJIS = "KozMinPro-Regular-Acro"
    You may need to download and install Japanese Font Pack from Adobe's web site (if your Acrobat is non-Japanese version).
    <font subsetting>
    You will need to add C:\WINNT\Fonts (or wherever your TTF/TTC fonts are installed) to your REPORTS_PATH.
    You will also need to have the following entries in uiprint.txt (example).
    [ PDF:Subset ]
    "Andale Duospace WT J" = "Aduoj.ttf"
    "Albany WT J"="AlbanWTJ.ttf"
    "MS UI Gothic" = "msgothic.ttc"

    You could just try changing your Input Sources under System Preferences>Language & Text:
    But I kind of doubt that's going to work. It may be a hardware problem or a system problem. If you take it into Apple they might be able to determine which and might advise a reinstallation of System software. I would take it to an Apple Store or an AASP but, first, make sure that you have a backup just in case they suggest a clean install of the system.
    Good luck,

  • How to show Greek characters in Italic style

    How to show Greek characters in Italic style
    Hi all, I'm tryng to resolve a problem with the Greek characters
    I need to display labels in two languages, english or greek inside my report.
    At the beginning of the report I have a placeholder with the xml code : *<?param@begin:p_language?>*, so I can understand inside my report if the user chose the Greek or English, and then I have many placeholders (labels) which have to be written in Greek or English.
    If the language chosen is English, I don't have any problem to show my labels bold or italic in every fonts
    Inside the placeholder I wrote the following code:
    *<?xdofx:if $p_language = 'Ελληνικά' then 'Οργανισμός' else if $p_language = 'Αγγλικά' then 'Organization' end if?>*
    I can chose font, style and bold/not bold directly from Word and when I run the report in pdf I see exactly what I chose.
    If the language chosen is Greek....I see always the label in Arial, NOT BOLD and NOT ITALIC...
    In order to see Greek characters BOLD:
    a) I added (under the ADMIN tab/Runtime Configuration/Font Mappings/ ) a font named Arial and I addeda target Font named Arialbd.ttf under the directory: D:\Oracle\Oracle_Homes\BIP_101341\jdk\jre\lib\fonts
    b) I changed the font (from word) to Arial
    Now, ONLY with tha ARIAL font I can see my labels in greek bold, but I can't still see them in italic style.....
    So, I tried to force these condition inside the placeholder with the following code:
    *<?if:$p_language = 'Ελληνικά'?><xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="inlines" name="font">Times New Roman</xsl:attribute><xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="inlines" name="font-style">Italic</xsl:attribute><xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="inlines" name="color">red</xsl:attribute><xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="inlines" name="font-weight">bold</xsl:attribute>Οργανισμός<?end if?>*
    ...but I continue to see the labels in Greek only bold, red but not in Italic Style......
    Also adding another font called Arialbi.ttf (Arial bold Italic)...I can't see my labels in Greek bold with Italic Style....
    Anybody had the same problem with another alphabet different from the latin one ???
    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    Alex

  • Type Show Hidden Characters doesn't display hidden chars, what to do?

    When I select Type > Show Hidden characters, the display does not change and the hidden characters stay hidden. Is there something additional that I need to do to see the hidden characters?

    Under View, change your Screen Mode to Normal. In any other mode, guides and hidden characters won't show.

  • Show hidden characters shortcut causes crash

    I'm running CS4 on Mac OS 10.5.8 (Indesign 6.0.4 which I believe is the latest).
    Lately, InDesign has started crashing when I use command+opt+I (the shortcut for show hidden characters), which I do A LOT for text design purposes. It doesn't crash every single time I use the key combo, but it's gotten to about 50% of the time, so that I'm afraid to use it. I'm very shortcut oriented rather than menu oriented, so please don't suggest I just stop using the shortcut (that's what my IT guy would suggest). It took me forever to even remember what the command was called that I was doing -- I ended up finding it by accident.
    Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone have any advice/suggestions?
    Thanks!

    I would start by Quitting Indesing, removing (putting on Desktop in case you have custom settings saved there) the Indesign Prefs;
    /Users/YOUR HOME FOLDER/Library/Preferences (Indesign Folder & .plist) and also removing the Indesign Cache folder;
    /Users/YOUR HOME FOLDER/Library/Caches.

    You are in command line mode on Windows,unfortunately a different characterset in NLS_LANG is required here. The characterset you specified works for Windows GUI only. Read this chapter from NLS_LANG Faq:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/globalization/htdocs/nls_lang%20faq.htm#_Toc110410555
    (I guess you need EE8PC852).

  • Problem with "Show Format" bar in Mail

    The bold, italic, and underline buttons are not working on my "Show Format" bar in Mail. NOTHING will make them work: clicking on a button before I type: selecting/highlighting and then clicking on a button after I type; choosing command+I, command+B before or after, etc. No problem changing font size there, or with any of the other features of the bar. I there a bug in Mail???

    Hello Audric. Try this first:
    1. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail and disable junk mail filtering.
    2. Quit Mail, then open it again.
    3. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk mail filtering, and configure it however you wish.
    4. Reset the junk filter database (Preferences > Junk Mail > Reset).

  • Mountain Lion's Mail doesn't recognize keyboard shortcuts for formatting characters.

    Usually in Mail you can press Command-I, and the characters you type are italicized. The same with Command-B (bold), Command-U (Underline), etc. After installing Mountain Lion, these keyboard shortcuts are no longer recognized in Mail. The only way to format characters is to select text, control-click the highlighted text, and from the contextual menu select Font, which lets one choose Bold, Italic, or Underline.
    How can I make Mail work with the supposedly built-in keyboard shortcuts?
    (I experienced this problem with Snow Leopard, but my installation of Lion corrected the issue. Now Mountain Lion brings it back agian. Sheesh.)

    (x-post) Ended up on a call with apple support. THey had me disable login items and go through system folder and dump a lot of extensions.  Kill all /library/launchagents and /library/launchdaemons  all of them.
    He said the likely culprits are /library/extensions... instanton and soundflower. I killed those.
    so my system has been given an enema, and the problem has gone away.

  • Smartform output not displaying, no formatting affected on output and shows formatting Error.

    Hi Guys,
    I am new to SAP and working in Smartforms now. I am facing an issue that the output screen is not showing any formatting done during the design phase. Not even font changes are displaying, instead only showing the default Courier font. No Bold as well as italics too. And borders also showing some problems.
    It was working properly till the last day and suddenly it gone faulty. Hence I cannot run the form and when  I try to run it, it displays nothing. I have been designing a Tax Invoice. When I tried to execute the smartform from the form itself, it was showing Formatting Error.
    What is the solution for this? I am using ECC 6. Please share your views.

    Hi Sanjeev,
    I've not made any changes to the formatting (Fonts and Borders) and I cross checked it many times.
    Everything is fine and Times used everywhere as Font. It is showing the same in the design too but in the output, it comes as Courier !! (May be default settings in case there is some exceptions, I don't know)
    I tried another report, pick list form, which too showing the same things. As we have developed only two reports, we cannot check more. The standard SAP forms are displaying as is, but the problem is with the newly designed ones.(Standard forms too are displaying in Courier font)
    I think it might be any problem related to the output graphical properties of the smart forms...!!! I am not sure but I need expert advice from you if there is any such scenarios...
