Show / Hide form elements

Hi...
I just want to know, how I can create the following in
Dreamweaver CS3:
Eg: I have 4 form elements: Active, Name, Surname, Comments
Now. When viewing the page containing the form, it should
only display the Active Tickbox. WHEN you have ticked the Active
tickbox, it should then UNHIDE the Name, Surname and Comments
elements.
Any Ideas how it could be done using Dreamweaver...? Even if
it can be done like except hiding elements, just make the other
elements "locked" or grayed out...?
Thanx...

  • Using an array to show/hide multiple elements?

    I have two elements that need to be hidden:
    "mov-imp"
    "mov-pim"
    Currently, I am doing this:
    var arr = ["mov-imp", "mov-pim"];
    // This is the onclick function
    sym.$.each(arr, function(){
                        $(this).hide();
    What's the best way to show/hide multiple elements/symbols in AE?
    Thanks!

    Hi Ashish, here is how you can hide all symbols in an array on button click. I'm not sure what you're asking in your second post, if you can clarify that.
    Example:
    www.timjaramillo.com/code/edge/arrays_hide_objects
    Source:
    www.timjaramillo.com/code/edge/_source/arrays_hide_objects.zip
    Code on button.click event:
    // if this button stays at root, you can just call sym.hideObjects();
    // this is in case you nest your button inside other symbols
    sym.getComposition().getStage().hideObjects();
    Code on Stage.compositionReady:
    var arr = ["obj1", "obj2"];
    sym.hideObjects = function(){
              $.each(arr, function(index, value) {
                        sym.$(value).hide();

  • Show/Hide AP Element Works Once

    I have an element on a page that is hidden.  I use a picture thumbnail to reveal it the element when clicked.  In the element I have a detail photo and some text that hides the element.  Once I have revealed and then re-hidden the element, I can no longer reveal it again.  Any ideas why this is.  Please let me know if you need any further info to diagnose the problem.

  • Show/hide /print element on multiple master pages

    Hi again,
    I'm continuing to have a problem with something that should be simple but I can't figure out.
    I have a large form.
    On one of the pages there's a button that says 'is there a non disclosure order in place' - radio button with yes/no.
    If the user selects 'yes' I want the words 'non disclosure' to appear on all my pages.
    I've gone about this by creating a text field (non editable) on each master page. It's down at the bottom middle and doesn't interfer with any other element. I've called each of these fields 'nonDis'
    Radzmar and Josh Geurian have been brilliant in helping me but I'm still not quite getting it.
    Back to the page that the radio buttons are on...
    On the click scripting event I have this code:
    var mp = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.CoreMaster[*].nonDis");
    var mp2 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.COREMASTER2[*].nonDis");
    var mp3 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.INFORMATIONSHARING[*].nonDis");
    var mp4 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.CHRONOLOGY[*].nonDis");
    var mp5 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.NATPRACTICEMODEL[*].nonDis");
    var mp6 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.ASSESSMENT[*].nonDis");
    var mp7 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.PLAN[*].nonDis");
    var mp8 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.REVIEW[*].nonDis");
    var mp9 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.PLAN2[*].nonDis");
    var mp10 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.SUMMARYESSENTIALINFO[*].nonDis");
    var mp11 = xfa.resolveNodes("#pageSet.OPEN[*].nonDis");
    for (var i = 0; i < mp10.length; i += 1) {
         mp10.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp11.length; i += 1) {
         mp11.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp.length; i += 1) {
         mp.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp2.length; i += 1) {
         mp2.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp3.length; i += 1) {
         mp3.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp4.length; i += 1) {
         mp4.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp5.length; i += 1) {
         mp5.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp6.length; i += 1) {
         mp6.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp7.length; i += 1) {
         mp7.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp8.length; i += 1) {
         mp8.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    for (var i = 0; i < mp9.length; i += 1) {
         mp9.item(i).presence = this.rawValue != "No" ? "visible" : "hidden";
    I've referenced each of the nonDis text fields individually but only the fileds in the master pages: CoreMaster, COREMASTER2, SUMMARYESSENTIALINFO and OPEN work. Despite their ordering in the code they happen to be the first four master pages that are used in order in the document. The actual order is: OPEN, SUMMARYESSENTIALINFO, CoreMaster, COREMASTER2 - these are then followed by INFORMATIONSHARING and contine down the list in order.
    I should mention that each nonDis field appears on the top level of each of the master pages (ie. not in a sub form). I have a feeling it's something perhaps to do with my above code maybe not being succint enough - or there being a better way to write it. It could also perhaps be something to do with the transition between the last page that does work (using COREMASTER2 masterpage) to the first one that doesn't (using INFORMATIONSHARING master page).
    There is also another big issue in that as soon as I click the print button all the nonDis fields revert back to their opening state of invisible and they stay that way despite the radio button remaining selected on 'Yes' - if i toggle yes/no they reappear on screen, but again disappear when printing. I can't let this happen as the form is meant to be printed.
    So please help... this is (I think) the last piece of the puzzle in a project that has taken months. If there's anything else I can provide you with to help please just ask.

    Hi Radzmar,
    Almost there... I think!
    It worked up to a point. As soon as I click/toggle yes/no the nonDis field does indeed appear on each and every page. However as soon as I send to print they all disappear.
    Doing a few tests it's because of several causes (I think). I have a number of tables which can grow when the user adds info (in fact most text fields have this ability). Also, I have text fields full of information for the user which I have scripted to disappear when sending to print (so the printed form contains user data rather than pages of background info). Finally I have a whole section whose content alters radically depending on which department the user belongs to.
    I've noticed that as soon as a page expands to effectively create another page the nonDis field disappears again (the radio button remains selected as 'Yes') - so my gut feeling is that the code above works only if the page count remains the same. Doing more tests I can see that as soon as even one text field adds another page to the form the nonDis disappears again.
    Finally, I've also done a test on my clean form - with only the radio button, the nonDis field (on a master page) and a text field and if I set this box to flowed and expand the height as soon as the field goes beyond the page to create another page the nonDis disappears once again even though the button remains as 'yes'

  • How to Show/hide the UI Elements in a WD Application

    Hi,
    I need to show/hide and control other properties such as required, readonly etc from UI.
    Can somebody please tell me how I can do that as I am able to save and retrieve the fields from another UI, now the need is to apply them once the Application starts.
    Thanks,
    Rachit

    Hi,
    To show/hide UI elements follow below procedure.
    1) define a attribute(VISIBLE in this case) element in the context of type WDUI_VISIBILITY
    2) in the UI element properties(Visible) bind the above attribute with the element you want to make visible/Hide.
    3) call below method to hide the UI element
        wd_context->set_attribute(
         EXPORTING
           name = 'VISIBLE'
           value = cl_wd_uielement=>e_visible-none ).
    4)     wd_context->set_attribute(
         EXPORTING
           name = 'VISIBLE'
           value = cl_wd_uielement=>e_visible-visible ).  for display.
    You have to call these method at the right spot.
    Thanks,
    Sree.

  • How to show/hide a form field?

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to programaticlly show/hide a from input field at runtime?
    best

    You can use javascript to achieve this and following is the code I'm using in one of the forms to hide a field when this form is being opened.
    ..after displaying page...
    declare
    v_id number(10);
    begin
    v_id:=p_session.get_value_as_NUMBER(
    p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_ID',
    p_index => 1
    If v_id is null then
    htp.p('<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    function get_index(p_name) {
    var i;
    for (i=1; i<document.forms[0].length; i++){
    if ( document.forms[0].elements.name == p_name) {
    return i;
    var j = get_index("FORM_NAME.DEFAULT.FIELD_NAME.01");
    document.forms[0].elements[j].style.visibility="hidden";
    </SCRIPT>');
    End If;

  • Hide / Show - Creating Conditional Elements Problem

    I have created a job application form that requires a 10 year history. The form has fields for 7 previous employers. All fields are required. I have a YES / NO Single Choice Field / Conditional Element at the end of all the fields for each previous employer. The question is: Does this complete the 10 year history?  If YES is selected for previous employer #1 I want the remaining 6 previous employers to disappear. If No is selected for previous employer #1 all the remaining previous employers should remain visible. If YES is selected for previous employer #2 the remaining 5 previous employers should disappear….Stick with me, I’m getting to the punch line……
    Using the Skip Logic Rules I can make previous employer #2 disappear if previous employer #1 is YES but previous employer #3 is still visible. If previous employer #1 is NO #2 & #3 remain visible. If #2 is YES #3 remains visible. That’s the problem.  In Show / Hide Items conditional element the 1st rule is to hide if #1 is NO. and the 2nd rule is hide if #2 is YES. And so on……..
    Additionally yesterday I spent a half an hour on Adobe support chat before I was disconnected with the solution still unresolved. Then I called Adobe support and logged over 2 hours between hold and remote support trying to figure this out. Finally I was told this problem would have to be sent to a “higher level”. That was at 3:00 pm PST. The “higher level” has yet to come down to my level so I’m hoping against hope this may be the place to get some insight.

    Hi;
    You could share your form with me and I could take a look, but what about having all additional employers hidden, then if at the end of #1 they answer "No" then #2 empoyer group of questions would show, then the same thing for the "Yes/No" at the end of #2, if answered "No" then the group for employer #3 would be shown?  That way the form would look cleaner, and requiring answering the "Yes/No" would force the user to either add additional employers or not until they were finished...
    If you'd like me to take a look at it share with [email protected] and please include a reference to this Forum post so I know what we are looking for, instructions for sharing your form: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2462

  • With a PDF Dynamic form using show/hide actions, how to ensure that when the completed form is saved, closed and re-opened, the form still show the fields as before it was closed?

    With a PDF Dynamic form using show/hide actions, how to ensure that when the completed form is saved, closed and re-opened, the form still show the fields as before it was closed?
    I have developed a form with fields hidden by default, that become visible based on box ticked or radio button selections.
    My problem is that, when I close the form and re-open it, it comes back to it's default presentation, regardless of the information already recorded in the form (including in the now hidden fields.
    How to correct that
    Thanks in advance for any hint you can provide.

    I've had the same problem. This solved it...
    Go to the "Form properties..." in the File-menu. Select "Run-time" to the left and in the box "Scripting" Preserve scripting changes to form when saved: choose Automatically (Script-based state changes are saved locally in an insecure fashion. This option cannot be used for certified forms).
    Hope it works for you to...

  • Is there a way to show / hide email campaign newsletter opt-in form based on current opt-in status?

    We have a secure zone with email campaign opt-in as both a part of the registration form and as a stand alone form for users logged into the secure zone.
    We want to only show the opt-in form to users who are not already registered for the campaign, but cannot find a way to do this via modules / tags / liquid / API.
    I have searched the forums and cannot believe this is not possible. If not possible, it should be put on the list of development requests.
    Is this possible and if not, any suggestions?
    The best workaround I can think of is to use a CRM field to track campaign opt-in status and then js/css or liquid to show / hide the form.
    Thanks.

    You won't be able to have a page showing 24 charts per host.
    I really think that it is a bad idea to create a group per host, just to have the ability to add many charts.
    The maintenance effort will be a big penalty.

  • Show-Hide element in Dreamweaver CS5

    Please can you tell me why when I validate a web page I get the following error when using the Show-Hide behaviour.  The error is only reported for the first use of the feature and no of the others.  I don't understand.
    Line 239,         Column 235:     there is no attribute "onload"…HideLayers('drive','','hide')" onload="MM_showHideLayers('drive','','hide')" /…

    You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the       document type you are using does not support that attribute for this       element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict"       document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use       the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or       by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this       is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).
    This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in       the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no       supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error       message for further information.
    How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute,        (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or        check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or       use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the        <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the        FAQ item on valid flash.
    Below is a copy of the relevant code -The code in bold is the line causing the error.  You will notice I have used it more than once, but I didn't get any other error messages.  Please help.

  • Show/hide elements in DW CS3

    I've just posted this question and got a reply from John
    Waller, thanks John, but what I mean is that I don't want to use
    layers, this has to do with the positioning in a table. I want to
    add images to a table which is in a layer so I can put margin-left
    and margin-right for the layer to "auto" so the whole table
    (including images) will always be centered. If I add layers to the
    table and add images to the layers (to get the mouse-over effect)
    the layers will not move with the table to the center of the page,
    I hope you guys know what I mean.
    Anybody knows if it would be possible in DW CS3 to do so, see
    the original question underneath to get the picuture:
    Thanks again.
    Hi
    In DW8 I often used the possibility to put several layers on
    top of eachother with images in them, this way I could show/hide
    layers so the images would be visible when having a mouse-over
    action on a thumbnail for example.
    Now DW-CS3 gives the option show/hide elements, however, I
    can not simply put elements on top of eachother, which is what I
    want.
    Am I stuck on using DW8 and the show/hide layers option, or
    is there a way to put multiple images (elements) on top of
    eachother in DW-CS3?
    Thanks, have a nice day

    You don't need to use a 'layer' for that, and I assume that
    you mean a <div>
    not a layer, since the latter implies absolute positioning.
    > If I add layers to the table
    I sure hope you are referring to just div tags and not
    layers, because you
    would never want to put an absolutely positioned element
    directly into a
    table cell.
    > I hope you guys know what I mean.
    Yes, I'm afraid I do. This whole scheme is just wrong.
    It would be much better to use the SetText behavior to simply
    dynamically
    write the desired image link into a named container on the
    page, much like
    you can see being done here -

  • Show/hide in an ADDT form

    has anyone successfully used a show/hide script of any kind in an ADDT form?
    What I'm trying to do is, I've got Yes and No radio buttons.  If Yes is clicked, a text box appears in the row below.
    If No is clicked, no change occurs.
    I had one that was working but now all of the sudden it is no longer working.  What happens now is when you arrive on the page, the text box that is supposed to be hidden, is visible.  However, when you click No, it disappears and if you click Yes, it reappears.
    Below is the code.  I'm thinking there must be a conflict between the javascript code below and ADDT.  Any help is appreciated!  Thanks!
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    function showhide1(id,str)
        if (document.getElementById)
            obj = document.getElementById(id);
            if (str == "show") //obj.style.display == none
                obj.style.display = "";
            else if (str == "none")
                obj.style.display = "none";
    </script>
      <tr><td align="right">Will anyone in your party require translation services at Open House?</td> <td> <input type="radio" name="translation" value="Yes" onClick="showhide1('display','show');">Yes<input type="radio" name="translation" value="No" checked  onClick="showhide1('display','none');">No</td></tr>
            <tr id="display"><td align="right" > In what Language? </td> <td> <font color="red">*</font> <input type="text" name="language"></td></tr>

    OK, I added a function that fires on page load so that the conditional row will be displayed if the Yes radio button has been checked.You should now remove the CSS rule for the conditional row. I tested the code with Firefox 3 and IE8 and it works but it is by no means complete.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    window.onload = showRow;
    function showRow() {
    if (document.getElementById("radioYes").checked)
    {document.getElementById("display").style.display = ""}
    else
    {document.getElementById("display").style.display = "none"};
    function showhide1(id,str)
        if (document.getElementById)
            var obj = document.getElementById(id);
            if (str == "show") //obj.style.display == none
                obj.style.display = "";
            else if (str == "none")
                obj.style.display = "none";
    </script>
    The HTML code for the two table rows should now be:
    <tr><td align="right">Will anyone in your party require translation services at Open House?</td>
    <td><input name="translation" type="radio" onClick="showhide1('display','show');" value="Yes" checked="checked" id="radioYes">Yes
    <input type="radio" name="translation" value="No" id="radioNo" onClick="showhide1('display','none');" >No</td></tr>
    <tr id="display">
    <td align="right">In what Language?</td>
    <td><font color="red">*</font>
    <input type="text" name="language"></td></tr>

  • Configure "Always hide forms document message bar" and "Do not show edit warnings" for all users?

    We need to do a mass deployment of Adobe Reader XI 11.0.3 with "Always hide forms document message bar" preference setting automatically set for every user so they do not have to go through the menu and set it manually.
    Is there a way to configure this for all users with the customization wizard or another method?
    We also need to do the same for "Do not show edit warnings"
    If these are registry keys, which registry keys set these options?

    Try http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Windows/DocumentStatus.html?zoom _highlight=message#idkeyname_1_5647.
    If that doesn't work and there's a configuration item in the preferences UI, do this:
    Get regshot.
    Close everything but Acrobat/Reader.
    Take a reg shot.
    Configure the setting via the UI.
    Tak another reg shot.
    Compare the two.
    That process will give you your answer.
    If there is no corresponding pref in the UI, then you probably can't do it.

  • Hide/show a form upon button click

    Hi
    I want to show/hide different form upon button clicks. Also I want to clear the data from a form upon button clicks. How can I achecive this? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Create one boolean variable in your datastore. Click of the button should set the value to false and you can bind the same variable to the visibility property so that you can hide and display accordingly. For making the values blank, you can put condition on the detault value formula IF(!<your datastore variable>,"",<value needed>)

  • Show/hide elements

    The functionality is identical in CS3, just the terms have
    changed.
    Layers (8) = AP Divs (CS3)
    Show/Hide Layers (8) = Show/Hide Elements (CS3)
    Go to the AP Elements panel (F2 or Window > AP Elements)
    and ensure that 1)
    all AP Elements are stacked on top of each other (ie there
    are no child
    elements which are shown by the name being indented in the
    list); 2) each
    Element has a unique Z index (if not re-number them manually
    so they're
    unique).
    Then apply the Show-Hide Elements behavior to each AP
    Element.
