Show in explorer

Hi
I've moved my Catalog on an other hard drive. Since then the option "Show in explorer" in the Exportation doesn,t work!
Thank for your help.
Francois

Did you use Lightroom to move your files to the other hard drive? If not, then as far as Lightroom is concerned your files are not where they belong. Lightroom just stores information about your files, not the files themselves. It has to reference them from the hard drive and it uses the file path from when the files were imported. If the files have been moved to a new folder (hard drive) location, then Lightroom doesn't know where they are currently, which would prevent it from showing in Explorer.
Double-check the information Lightroom is using currently. Select a photo, check its path in LR and verify that the image is in that path.
If you just moved the catalog file, and not the image files, to a new hard drive, this has no effect at all with Lightroom and should have nothing at all to do with the behavior you are seeing. Test a new catalog instead, import a couple files and try the Show in Exploerer command.

  • Sub folders not showing in Explorer view

    Hi,
We have a totally standard Sharepoint 2013 installation. We've noticed this week that in some document libraries when opening them up in Explorer view it doesn't display all the sub folders in that library/folder. It's a real pain when users have a folder
with 20+ documents and want to move them somewhere else and can't because one of the folders aren't showing up. Manually moving them one by one is pretty tiresome.
If I remove the subfolder in Sharepoint and then recreate the folder in Explorer view that works fine, so it's not that the name is too long. It's not a permission thing since I'm site collection admin. Same issue on Windows 7 and Windws 8. Tried different
logins. Just can't wrap my head around this issue or what's causing it.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Kristoffer,
I have seen an attribute for folder object which could control SharePoint folder hide or show in webdav explorer view, you can use PowerShell to output the problematic folder property, see if it the case, then use the PowerShell code to set it's property
with blank value to make it show in explorer view,
Use the PowerShell to get the folder object and then check the property value with this code line $folder.Properties["vti_winfileattribs"]
#folder can be site, library level and folder level
    $folder = (Get-SPWeb http://sp).Folders["shared documents"].SubFolders["folder1"]
    #hide folder
    $folder.Properties["vti_winfileattribs"]="00000016"
    #show folder
    ####$folder.Properties["vti_winfileattribs"]=""
    $folder.Update()

  • I/O error / and now it's not showing in explorer

    Hi!
My shuffle has always been acting really strange, ever since i bought it more than a year ago. It has always been bugging me by diconnecting itself while transferring files, and then re-connecting itself again..
This time, it did this about 5 times, and then it just froze. It couldn't be recognized by itunes anymore, but was still in the windows task-bar, and i could eject it and re-connect it. This wouldn't help though, and in the explorer it showed as I:, but if i tried double-clicking it, i got an I/O-error. Same thing with the ipod-restore-software, it froze - or simply wouldn't recognize the ipod. Now the icon in the task-bar has dissappeared and explorer can't find it, so i guess windows no longer recognizes it either. When i connect the shuffle to any USB-port (rear or PCI-card) it blinks: short blink amber/green - long green - short blink amber/green - long green and so on..
The question is: why!? why today? and how can i repair it? my first thought was that the shuffle firmware was damaged by too many disconnect-reconnects, but i can't even format it cos of the I/O-error...and now it doesn't even show in explorer...bohoo..please help me! thanks /carl
    Shuffle   Windows XP Pro

this what happen to me too. When i plug in it recognize as removable disk but can;t open. it froze. Itune won;t recognize it and can;t update bc it froze when initializing. I get a ipode service error and ipod manager error.

  • Show in Explorer option not working

Recently started using Lightroom. But I have a problem.
When I right click on a picture and select Show in Explorer nothing happens. Any ideas much appreciated.

You could create a small new catalog for testing, and I guess for XP the old standby of reinstalling the software might work. You are talking 1.3.1. Why not try it anew?

  • "show in explorer" don´t work?!

When rightclick on a file in the grid and choose "show in explorer" LR open a blank explorer window at the C: location. But all of my photos are at another location (D:\photos\..).
    Does anybody know a reason/solution?
    Thanks for any advice, kai

  • Visual Studio Community 2013 does not show database explorer

I am a Newbie who wants to learn web development. it seems in older version of visual studio, when you add a database item in solution explorer there is a database explorer.
but now in my visual studio 2013, if i add a database item, there is no database explorer to let me browse table or others below. Why? I installed SQL express and Visual Studio on windows 8.1 x64
Also any pointers to free tutorial on the internet that lets me learn and practise working with database in a web application?

    Hello Lenny,
Can you see Server Explorer in your VS? What about show us a sceenshot so that we can understand your problem.
I do not have VS 2013 Community right now but in my point of view you should have related components. I will also install VS Community later and share you some info.
    Best regards,

  • Shuffle shows in explorer, works on iBook, not in iTunes on XP

My wife has a shuffle, my iPod photo works/updates etc. on the PC, the shuffle shows up fine in Explorer and I can browse it. I also plugged it into my iBook, shows up fine there too and says it's linked to the other computer and shows it as formatted FAT32, I even updated it via the mac iPod updater, but my music library is on the PC.
I've updated the software, rebooted, reset the shuffle, etc. but the PC iPod updater and iTunes will not recognize it. I don't think the shuffle is defective, I think the software to recognize shuffles has bugs.
Can anyone help? Why won't it just let you pick the drive letter, why must it autodetect?

more weirdness, works in my other PC, this one has a ton of USB devices and drive letters taken up, I stopped every exe and service but the critical ones, and it still doesn't work in this one with all the songs.
winamp can send songs to it, I guess I'll just use that.

  • Need Help !  Can't see songs after importing from CD, but shows in explorer

Can you give me a little more information as to what you did?

  • "show in explorer" is very slow

I am running win 7 on  a workstation. The windows  indexing function is running properly.  If I enter a filename into the windows search box it is found instantly.  But when I am in LR CC and I select the option to show the file in Explorer, LR begins a slow search that can take 30 seconds or more, marked by a progress bar across the top of the screen.  Is LR not using windows own index tables but doing a tedious search each time?

    Hello Siggi!
the last x times we try to load we have time outs in ST22. I don't look in SM21. What I see in SM50 while loading, the process is very often reading on one dimension. So the time out is as accept one or two times always on this point. For example:
    From ST22:
    Out of FORM GET_DIMID_D6:
    SELECT DIMID FROM /BIC/DCRM_CCUST6
      up to 1 rows
      INTO L_S_D6-DIMID WHERE
      SID_CRMCMASTE =
      L_S_D6-SID_CRMCMASTE
      AND
      SID_CRMCUST =
      L_S_D6-SID_CRMCUST
      AND
In SM50 I also see that the process reads on this dimension.
I test different parameters and attributes of this dimension 6 in RSRV but found no problem.
The dimension has about 1 mio entries which is 4 % of the fact table with 30 mio entries.
    Any idea?

    Hi,
Have you make any change to your system before this problem occures? Especially install new program.
You can try to perform a Clean Boot to check whether this problem caused by 3rd program or service start with system. Refer to the link below for more details.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
If problem persists, try to use ShellExView to check if there is any 3rd extension of Windows Explorer that may cause this problem.

  • Server 2008 R2 does not show Internet Explorer 10/11 Group Policy options

    Hello,
I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 server that has IE11 installed. I am attempting to create a GPO to control Proxy settings for IE10/11 clients, however, when I go to User Config>Preferences> Control Panel Settings> Internet Settings and Right click,
I do not see an option for IE10, only IE5 and 6, IE7, and IE8.
I have downloaded and installed the Administrative Templates for Internet Explorer from
here, and followed the installation instructions, but still, the option does not show up. I have ensured that all the latest Windows Updates are installed on the server, and rebooted
    the server a couple times.
    What am I missing here?
    Thanks in advance.

This setting determines whether the Properties menu item is enabled, and thus, whether the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box is available to users.
If you enable this setting (and enable the "Enable Network Connections settings for Administrators" setting), the Properties menu items are disabled for all users, and users cannot open the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
Important: If the "Enable Network Connections settings for Administrators" is disabled or not configured, this setting will not apply to administrators on post-Windows 2000 computers.
If you disable this setting or do not configure it, a Properties menu item appears when users right-click the icon representing a LAN connection. Also, when users select the connection, Properties is enabled on the File menu.
Note: This setting takes precedence over settings that manipulate the availability of features inside the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box. If this setting is enabled, nothing within the properties dialog box for a LAN connection is available to
    users.

  • Images not showing in Explorer, Mozilla, etc

    Hi there.
I am still learning Dreamweaver CS4 and am a newbie with all the coding.
I have just uploaded a website but the images don't show up but are fine in Dreamweaver, and also fine when I 'Preview in Browser'.
In Mozilla the image box momentarily shows up (without the photo) and then disappears altogether.  In Explorer, the image boxes are there with a 'X' in top left hand corner.
An example of my code is:
    <img src="Images/KEG_photos2.jpg" alt="Galbraiths Gully" width="340" height="255" />
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
    Cheers.

    Thanks for all your help!
I have corrected all of my image names to lower case, and for some reason the 'images' folder name keeps appearing as 'Images' which also stops the photos from showing, so I have individually amended all of the photo names to 'images/..'
And I have created an 'images' folder in Filezilla, and uploaded all of the photos there, which I probably should have done at the very beginning!
So slowly getting there.  Thanks again.
I dunno what this Filezilla is.......an overly complicated ftp client most likely.
Perhaps get a simpler ftp client? All I do is connect to my host server using an ftp upload program and then literally drag the files and folders across form my local site folder to the correct place on the remote server. Because the server is open I can see exactly where the files and folders are.
If you rely on an automated process then its more difficult to troubleshoot.

  • The main menu does not show in explorer/PC!!

I have a problem that i hope somebody can solve. When i am publishing my site from iWeb directly to me.com the website is working fine. If i export the website and then preview it in explorer on PC the main menu does not appear for some reason. I would be greatful if somebody could give me an explination on what is wrong? Please!

Where are you "exporting" your site to?
The iWeb navigation menu will not show on a PC running IE if Java is turned off.
You can get round this by "hiding" the standard navigation using the "page" inspector and building your own.

  • IPOD Nano works fine in Itunes, but doesn't show in explorer or My Computer

When I first installed the Second Gen Nano, Windows explorer picked it up immediately as a drive and I could brouse all files on the Nano. My previously installed Itunes came up and stated I had to upgrade to a newer version for it to work.
After installing the newest Itunes, it works perfectly, but, the Nano no longer is found on my explorer or in My Computer. What happened?
My devices show the correct drivers and everything is working well. It is like Apple no longer wanted me to view the Nano outside of Itunes.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, the drive assignment and letter (P) initially used for the Nano is open and available, so there are no conflicts there. Further, Disk Management only identifies the HD's I have and no others.
Everything appears cogent and within parameters, yet windows does not recognize the Nano (with exception to operational device drivers), while Itunes does and works just fine.
The issue has something to do with the newest version of Itunes, as the older Itunes version couldn't read the Nano but explorer could.

  • Slideshow woes-not showing on explorer

I used a slide show assets folder from an old post (permission was given).
As my site is on a non-.mac host, this makes it work great with Safari, but when I try it with Explorer, no luck. Any workaround?

    Thank you,

    Welcome to the forums.
You've precisely described a problem caused by overscanning -- the edges of photos (and captions/titles near the edge) get cut off by older televisions. I suppose those tv sets could be adjusted to show a smaller but complete image, but the typical solution is to invoke the "TV Safe" command that adjusts your images slightly smaller to fit on all sets.
An alternative would be to narrate (in iMovie) your slideshows.
