Show keyword hierarchies in keywording panel

In the list of keywords in the Keywording panel, show the relationship of keywords, and show ALL the keywords for the image....
For example, if I have keywords
location
arizona
grand canyon
and I asisgn "grand canyon" to an image, when I look at the keywords for the image it would be nice to see "grand canyon > arizona > location"

Well, there's already an option to show keywords and parents, except that it doesn't show the relationship, so why not have another option to show keywords so you can identify the hierarchy? Seems pretty basic to me, and a lot more useful than a flat, alphaetical list.

Filters don't show a photo if it is at the back of a stack.

I'd like to have an option to use the AND-rule when selecting multiple keywords from the keyword panel.
For example, if I had the following keyword hierarchy:
- Places
- London
- New York
- Subjects
- Car
- Buildings
Now, if I'd like to see cars photographed in New York, I need to go to the find panel and enter the keywords there. If I select multiple keywords from the keyword pane (ctrl-click keywrods "New York" and "Car"), I get all photos from New York and all photos of cars. What I'd like to have is a switch (check box) in the preferences-dialog (*) to chance this behavior to use the AND rule, so that selecting multiple keywords from the keyword panel would result into showing only those photos that have ALL of the keywords, instead ANY of them as it is now.
(*): or perhaps even in the keyword panel as a sort of small icon, like the "add keyword" (plus sign) and "remove keyword" (minus sign) icons.

I would love to see a better solution for keyword matching too. Imagine if we could have the power of regular expressions!
At least we could use parenthesis (for grouping), ampersands (&) for "and", and plus (+) for "or." Wildcards would be nice too, and while we're at it, exclamation mark (!) for "not." Consider the following construct.
((dave & aileen) + (bonnie & steve)) & !pete
Reads like this:
Both dave and aileen, or both bonnie and steve, but in either case, not pete.
Or you could change it like this:
((dave + aileen) & ! pete) + (shannon & dane)
Reads like this: Either dave or aileen but not pete, or shannon and dane.
For even greater power, allow us to store and edit frequent search terms. Then I could easily come up with some elaborate search term, and re-use it later, or change it in some small way for later.
It would be even better if all this were part of a total metadata search. How about:
(keyword:dave + keyword:aileen) & (year:2008 & location:US|California|Los Angeles|Home)
Maybe this is getting to be too complex for casual use, but it really could be quite powerful for searching those catalogs of 10000+ pictures.

Can somebody explain keyword hierarchies?

IN LR, I have keyword hierarchy:
event
holiday
thanksgiving
christmas
hot air balloon
albuquerque 2006
faribault 2004
and I have images assigned..... Looking at an image, the keyword tags pane may look like thanksgiving>holiday. BUT, it DOESN'T have the whole hierarchy thanksgiving>holiday>event. How come? AND, I may also have assigned albuquerque 2006 to the image. But THAT one may look like (in the whole alphabetical list) albuquerque 2006, xxx, yyy, event, eee>fff, hot air balloon, qqq and so on.......
Can SOMEBODY give me the explanation of what its doing, and HOW to get all this stuff to actually show up as hierarchies? I'm looking on line, in the LR manual, AND in a LR book I've got, and I can't find how this works ANYWHERE..... <strangled scream of annoyance>

From my experience, the only time I get a hierarchy (ie, xxx > yyy) showing up in the Keyword Tags pane is if there are more than one "yyy" keywords in my list. For example, I just created this hierarchy:
AAA
BBB
CCC
AAB
CCC
When I assigned
b CCC
to a photo, I got a pop-up showing the options
b CCC > AAA
and
b CCC > AAB
. Instead of choosing, I deleted
b > AAA
and hit enter. The keyword assigned to the photo was
b CCC > AAA
Next I assigned
b BBB
to the photo, and the new keyword list was
b BBB, CCC > AAA
. When I go to the "Keywords and containing keywords" view, I get
b AAA, BBB, CCC > AAA
(because
b CCC
doesn't fully describe the keyword)
To address your initial question directly, I don't think you will ever see your full hierarchy unless your keyword is only one level deep, and it is a duplicate of another keyword. The only reason you see a hierarchy (>) in the Keyword Tags section is to differentiate two identical keywords.
One more thing, it's typically not advised to use locations as keywords. That's what the Location metadata is for. I suppose if you have multiple levels

the "Location" level (your lakes, for instance) you'll need to create keywords. But for most applications, the Metadata takes care of that, which helps to minimize clutter in your keyword list.

Podcast not showing up in iTunes keyword search

I asked Apple support for help with this, but they basically wrote back and gave me this forum URL. Yes, there are other posts on this "keyword" topic, but they seem to be from 2012, and they didn't quite give me the info I was looking for. Would anyone be willing to help me out? I'm still kinda new at this, even though I've successfully posted 42 episodes of my podcast on iTunes already. I feel I might be losing a large number of potential subscribers because the only way to find my podcast is from the name of the podcast itself, not keywords, and not many people are aware of my podcast.
Basically, I am using Google Feedburner with the Smartcast settings. My show is hosted on Talkshoe.com. A friend set up my podcast on iTunes for me last year, but I have total control of the Feedburner account. I have only 7 keywords in Feedburner and the first one is "zombies." The 2nd one "zombie." I'm sure there are tons of zombie podcasts out there, but when I type "zombies" for a keyword search in iTunes, I'm shocked to see podcasts listed there that have nothing to do about the subject. Worse, after a keyword search, I see shows listed that are not even running anymore. It's like a podcast graveyard, but there is no sign of mine, which updates with a new episode every week.
Am I not submitting keywords correctly in my feed? Is it based on popularity and number of reviews in iTunes? I understand if my show can't compete with the big boys, but to have a podcast show up that has nothing to do with zombies while mine stays invisible (even though it's specifically about my keyword search), really baffles me.
Anyone willing to give me some insight with this? Any help would be appreciated. Just tell me what info or details you need. Thanks!

It seems to pull up every podcast with the word "zombie" in the title, and then displays some random podcasts that may or may not have anything to do with zombies. I just figured that "zombie" is my one (and now only) keyword, I'd be in there somewhere. Since I was not the one who initially submitted the podcast to iTunes, I have no idea what information was requested and entered at the time...or if that's even relevant. What I do have control over is my source webhosting site (Talkshoe) and the Google Feedburner site, which I'm told is the only thing that matters, unless there was a keyword entry field specific to iTunes during the initial set-up I do not have access to.
It seems like I can enter keywords at Talkshoe (hosting site), and I can enter keywords on my Feedburner (RSS Feed). I've read online that if the source has keywords, the feed keywords will be ignored. They both have the same keywords, so I doubt that's the issue, but I've erased the source keywords and left the Feedburner ones. I'll see if that changes anything when I upload my latest podcast.
Does iTunes ask for keywords during the initial iTunes application process that overrides everything? If so, that my be my problem. I have no idea what the guy who set up my podcast in iTunes wrote? Is that part of the iTunes application process?

When I click the "Edit Keywords" button, I get a list of all keywords. I just added several hundred random keywords, and they are all visible, when I scroll the list in "Edit Keywords" view.
Have you the scroll bars hidden? You can enable the scroll bars in the System Preferences > General tab: enable "Show Scroll bars - always".

MSI GT 70 ONC: Stereoscopic 3D option doesn't show up in the NVidiaControl panel

I have MSI GT 70 ONC Laptop with NVidia 670M (2GB) graphics card. I also have Sony Bravia 3D TV.
I can play 3d movies on laptop and can watch them on my 3d TV using HDMI cable fine although my laptop doesn't have 3d display.
I am trying to use my laptop which doesn't have 3D display but has Graphics card which supports 3D to play 3d games and see them on my 3D TV.
I checked online and found out that I need to change "Stereoscopic 3D" settings in NVidia control panel but Stereoscopic 3D option doesn't show up in the control panel. Very few options are there. I have updated drivers to the latest level but still can't see "Stereoscopic 3D" option in NVidia control panel. So will you be able to help me out what I can do to see the option? Thanks in advance.

I have got an gs70. Exactly the same problem. Unfortunately this hdmi outputs are connected for the intel graphics cards. And intel does not support 3d.
I was actually very angry with MSI. Because they do not mention in the description. They promot just the gtx card. And forgot to mention about the hdmi connection.
Forget the 3d tv. Or you can buy an external mini pci-e graphics card adaptor.

This would be the correct setting if the AirPort Extreme is connected to a simple modem (one ethernet port).

my program has many sub VIs, i wish to show in the main front panel the progress of each sub Vi; what is the best way to do that?

Why do imported hyperlinks from Word not show up in Indesign Hyperlinks panel?

I am able to copy and paste hyperlinked text from Word into ID and everything works ok-- when exported to PDF the links work fine.
except now client wants to rename the text of the hyperlink- but there seems to be no way to even see what the URL destination is.
None of the Word links show up in the Hyperlinks panel.
I have to find out the URL and delete the original linked text and redo them.

Um. Are you not talking about proper URLs? I kind of assumed you were :)
Actually, hyperlinks *should* import just nicely into ID, not only plain URLs but also those with alternative text. But if they do, they'd show in the hyperlink panel ...
Can you check if they are mentioned in the Hyperlink Destination list in your ID document? That would confirm or disprove they are actually present, at some level.

Biometric device is not showing up in the control panel

i'm using elitebook 8440p. earlier i was using win 8, my biometric device was runnig fine. But when i begant use win 7, it started showing unavailable in the control panel. So I reinstalled it, now it is not showing up in the control panel too...however it is showing in device manager. and also there is no any application naming simplepass is present in my 'program and features' item of control panel. plz help.

Is there a way to clear keywords from a keyword search? I have hundreds of keywords and have to search thru them to make sure they are all unchecked. It takes forever. Is there a key combo for this?

Found it. Hold down option and command and click on a new keyword and it unselects all the others (Same command as iCal)

ANSWERED-Layers don't show up in the layers panel - Photoshop CC

AH-HA! There's a new button to turn on and off layers - I discovered it quite by accident. I will leave the post in case others need to "find" that button. It's at the top of the layers panel to turn layer filtering on/off.
