Show links with news layout set

Hi ,
Can i show edit list and subscribe link for XML items, with newsexplorer layout i was able to get the commands for a single resource but i want to links to folder..I want users to subscribe to and if they have folder permisssion then display edit link.. I tried HTML Collection Renderer, this is not working for Newsexplorer layout. Any Ideas? thanks

Explaining my requirement layout below.

But layout is not working fine for the last row. It is showing extra space between the checkbox Icon and Go Link

TextImage shows links with chainlink image. Why?

The TextImage component shows my links with chainlink image. Why? Even in preview mode, it shows the chainlink image and the links are not clickable.
See the bottom-right of the attached image. How can I fix the links?

Won't recapture with new audio setting

when i initially captured some of my clips in FCP 4, i made the mistake of using the audio setting "mono mix".
since then, i've upgraded to FCP 5. i've also finished the project. now, i'd like to go back and recapture the clips, setting the audio to the proper setting of 2 separate mono tracks, the way it should have been in the first place.
i should note that "mono mix" did not result in one mixed down track; it captured two tracks of audio in a stereo pair, listed in the browser as "1V, 2A" with "1 stereo" but i suspect it mixed them in a weird way because they sound quite low and muddy.
in any case, i've been trying to recapture with a new audio setting. however, nothing seems to work. i've tried making all the clips offline, changing their settings with "modify", then recapturing with the audio toggled to 2 mono tracks... it still comes in as "1 stereo" pair. i've tried the other way, setting the log & capture settings to 2 mono, unchecking the "use current clips settings" box... it comes in "1 stereo". i've tried trashing preferences and redoing the above. i've tried putting the clips in a different project.
any suggestions? thanks.

apparently when you capture in "mono mix" it captures 2 tracks, but makes them identical mixes. so you lose all the phasing and mixing from the field and wind up with two dullish tracks. to unlink them wouldn't change this.
however, i think i figured out a way through a post on creative cow -- i exported a batch list of the offending clips and opened this in Excel. then i went in and changed the audio track column manually, to "2 Mono", then imported the batch list back into FCP. then recaptured using these new clip settings.
seems to work! (knock on wood).

Call logical links with different enhancement sets on the same business role

I am trying to create a business role that contain logical links with different enhancements. I know how to choose an enhancement for the business role but I can't find a way, if possible, that one business role does it.
I know how to give an option to choose different roles for the same user, i'm looking for a way to do this in the same window

My 'open link in new tab' setting opens selection on a completely different page! HELP!

Seemingly out of the blue, when I right click on something I would like to open in a new tab... the selection now open up on a entirely new and separate page. This page then continues to be the 'go to' page for all subsequent 'Open link in a new tab' selections. It is extremely frustrating! Can I please get information on how to change this setting to the original function?! HELP!!!!

Broken links with new EXT HDD

My Aperture library sits on a networked EXT HDD called Pictures HD. I decided the drive was getting a little old so swapped it for a new one. I've copied the entire contents over to the new drive, given it exactly the same name (Pictures HD) but when I open Aperture, all my referenced files are showing up as disconnected. I can't see why this should be as the new drive is basically a clone of the old one.
Any ideas what I need to be doing differently?

If you have already, outside of Aperture, copied all of your referenced files to the new HD (and kept your Library on your system HD), don't use "Relocate Masters". That would have been a better way to populate your new HD -- but that is already done. Use "Locate Referenced Files". This command allows you to tell Aperture to, in fact, locate the Masters of the images in the Library. If you copied without alteration the folder structure of the referenced files, you will be able to simply tell Aperture where one of the Masters is on your new HD, and Aperture will find all the others.
Alternatively, you could wipe the new drive clean with a fresh format, then use the "Relocate Masters" command with both the old and the new HDs mounted.
In general, it is recommended that other than back-up you do all file management from within Aperture. Both "Relocate Masters" and "Locate Referenced Files" work well.

Internet Explorer returns "Page not found error" with new laptop set up

I have a recently acquired Dell Latitude D600 with TrueMobile 1300 Wireless adapter running XP Pro Service Pack 2 and a BEFW11S4 Version 3 Wireless router. I can get the router and laptop to communicate to the point of retrieving an IP address and show that there is Excellent Signal. How ever when I launch IE i get the Page Not Found screen. Once or twice i've been able to connect to the Google Home Page, but it seems random.
I have used the ping command in a DOS window to ping yahoo.com and google.com. Most of the time I get a 50% or less successful ping. I have directly connected the laptop to the router and it works without problem and I have another computer running Home XP via a WPC11 adapter that I have been using for many years.
Anyone have any experience with this symptom or problem?

hi , here is what u do , hardwire the PC to the router first....access the router using http://192.168.1.1 "admin" is the default passowrd.....go to the wireless section and ensure u have selected channel 11....save settings....then go to the advanced wireless settings and reduce the RTS and fragmentation threshold by 40 each....save settings....

2005 Apple Cinema displays not able to show movies with new iTunes

ITunes is giving me the following error when trying to watch movies on my 2005 Apple Cinema display(s).
The selected movie won’t play on one of your connected displays.
This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).
Try moving the iTunes window to a different display. Make sure the entire window is on the supported display.
I called the Apple support, they said my displays can not support HDCP. Can anyone else comment on this?
Is this true to the best of your knowledge?
Is there anything I can do to make my movies play again? Other than buy new monitors of course.

Hi,
Highlight one of the applications that cannot be updated and click File> Get Info. Make sure you are signing-in to the iTunes Store with that Account Name shown in the Get Info window.
Then sign-in to the iTunes store and verify the account information as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1918
If the issue persists, try to reconfigure the security software or remove the SC Info folder as others have in this related discussion: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1939036

Customizing parent folder link options in DiscussionForum Layout set

Hi All,
I have created a forum page with discussionForum layout set.Now, it shows the discussion groups inside it with parent folder link at the top.this parent folder link has some options like view,coolaboration,details etc which I need to customize...
By parent folder I mean like if A has x,y,z discussion groups:
If you click on x then, parent folder link changes to:
A-->x...there is a option menu just besides this link which I need to customize.
Can anyone give a clear idea to this problem??

Pls follow the below steps,
1. Go to sys admin> sys configuration> Knowledgemanagement --> content management -- >user interface.> settings> layout set
2. Search for Discussion layout set and open it.
3. In Collection renderer field, click on the link discussion group bread crumb
4. In the subsequent window, click on the collection command group : discussiongroupbreadcrumbcommandgroup.
5.in the next window, edit the command list field as per your requirement and save.

Search result category with a custom layout set?

I've created a nice little search IVIEW with a custom search options set that will display the document category (taxonomy) in the search result (if the resulting document is categorized, of course.) Works great. However there is one little problem. The categories in the search results are hyperlinked and when you select one, you get a new window with the taxonomy rendered in the default layout set (the ConsumerExplorer I think.) Not good. I need this displayed in a custom layout set.
Any ideas how to make this hyperlink use a custom layout set without changing the default?

Hi Paul,
As per my knowledge of the basic s of layout sets and iviews.
You want to change the layout set of the iview(window) which opens when u click the hyperlink.
You should do this:
1)Make a new layout set by customizing the default one.
2)If the iview opening is a standard iview then go to its properties and change the Layout set value to ur new layout.
Please revert in case of issues.

Flex UI Layout set showing strange results!!!

Hi All,
I am facing a strange problem with the layout set being used for showing KM folder.
Currently the layout is displaying the same results, rendering the same resources TWICE in the same page with same look. The layout set is using GridListLayoutController and a custom developed Collection Renderer. The custom developed is only rendering a fixed number of resources.
What can be the problem? Please help me.

Hello Sandip,
The GridListLayoutController would be used for layouts that, for example, would display subfolders in the grid layout above and files in a list format below. It is also used when an HTML Collection Renderer is involved... the HTML file is displayed above, with a list view of the folder contents below. Just depends on what you need.

Rendering ResourceList with layout set

Hi,
in a custom program I get a list of resources, which i want to display to the user.
At the moment I display the list with hard coded HTMLB elements, which is not really flexible regarding layout issues and also not very comfortable.
So I want to render my list with a layout set, as the KM Navigation iView does.
Does anyone know how i can pass a ResourceList to a layout set, so that the km framework renders my list with it??

Hi,
I can think of two options then:
1. If you're using Trex, then perhaps you can use the Basic KM search iView and manipulate the search option set and search component set it uses for getting the right results. Similar to the 10 Last Documents scenario.

If 1 doesn't work for you could try to implement a namespace filter. the idea is the same as a resource list filter but it works on a repository level. the good thing about it is that you can maintain properties for it. the bad thing is that it will run every time the repository is accessed so you need to find a way to limit it to your needs.
