Show location map (geodata) of photo in iWeb

Hello,
A few months ago I bought my first Mac. I've just (re-)created my website with iWeb '09.
I would like to show the geodata (location info) of my photo's on my website.
On my other laptop (a Windows machine) I use JetPhoto to create webalbums. If a geotag is found, the software adds a "map" hyperlink to the description. When a user clicks this link a google map will open and shows the location of the photo.
In iPhoto I can see the geotags as well (click on the i and the location is shown). In the preferences of Iphoto I have set the option "show location of published photo's". However iWeb doesn't show the location data. I tried geotagging a photo out of iPhoto, re-import and publish to iWeb, same result: no location. I even used HoudahGeo to write the geodata directly to the original image files that iPhoto uses. But without result.
Is it possible to have iWeb show the location of my photo's? Maybe a 3rd party plugin?

I asked JetPhoto if there is a way to integrate their albums with iWeb...
probably not, and I doubt it if anyone in these forums know how to tie KML and iweb.
but it can be done, as you can see in the previous post. it's a complicate process...

Photo shows up on site, but not in iWeb

I have a little issue! I've created this site :

But at the bottom of each page is a photo of trees that shouldn't be there. When I try to find this mysterious photo in iWeb- it isn't there.
I've emptied the cache and republished the site, but I'm still plagued by this image.
Does anyone know how I could get this photo to show up, or where it's coming from?

Its named backgroundimage_2.jpg. The URL to the one on the Links page, for example, is....

Try dragging a text box down the page to see if you can see it.
It may be in the footer area so, do a Shift-Command-L to show the layout, command drag a text box into the footer and drag it down.

Im trying to find my iPhone via iCloud but i does not show a map with its last know location. It only shows the menu options. My iPad and Mac show up but the map of my iPhone does not.

If your phone is turned off or not connected to the Internet, you will be unable to locate it. Last known location is only stored for 24 hours.

Location map doesn't show in iPhoto since update to Maverick

Since I have updated to Maverick I have noticed that the location map no longer shows. The info shows and the drop pin also but no map picture. I also tried Hybrid and Satalite but it didn't change.
Any ideas?

What version of iPhoto do you currently have? If it isn't some version of iPhoto 9.x (11) then upgrading to iPhoto 9.,5.1 will be a required purchase.

Elements 10 - Organizer - Show on Map Missing?

Just upgraded to Elements 10, and unlike Elements 9, I cannot seem to be able to "Show on Map" any photo's.
Has this been removed, or is there some hidden option I have missed and need to turn on?

Well this just stinks. I also recently upgraded to elements 10 and was trying to geotag some photos from a few recent trips.
I wouldn't have bothered with the upgrade to 10 if I had known that geotagging was being dropped. The Yahoo maps interface was, quite frankly, terrible. However, it at least allowed me to location tag without having to go to an external application.

Year view not showing location summary

I have a problem with the new photos app on iPhone6 and Yosemite 10.10.3.
In the "year view" places where the photos were taken can usually be accessed in a map (e.g. "United States, Germany and 3 more >").
I have several years of photos and this does work for most of them, but for 2 years (2013 and 2014) there is no location or countries displayed I could tap on to open the map view so I can see what places I visited in those years.
When I zoom in to collections or moments however, every single photo does have location data.
The photos app seems to fail summarizing my places. The problem is the exact same on iPhone and on the new photos app in Yosemite (turning on or off iCloud photo library doesn't make a difference here).
Also tried the following: I deleted all photos from my iPhone and sync them again via iTunes. When I did this while having the photos app open in the year view, I could see that the years 2013 and 2014 at first have this link to the map but as more photos are synced both disappear.
Any ideas on this? Please help

In the Collections or Years mode in the Photos app and click on the title or date range just above the thumbnails to get to the map with those photos. A map with all of your photos is not available at this time. Don't know if it will be. Send a feature requires to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html to tell them what features you'd like to see incorporated into the Photos app that is actively under development.

When you go to the Google Maps app on the iPod does it correctly find your location? The iPod's locations service uses the location of the a nearby wifi router to locate te iPod. However, not all routers are in Apple's database and as of yet nobody here knows of a way to add routers to the database.

Location Error in New Photos App IOS 10.10.3

After getting the IOS update for my Macbook Pro, the photos taken the day of and after show up in the new Photos App as having been taken in China. How do I correct the location for these images? All over images prior to this update have the correct location information.

I have no idea, I just connected my phone and this is how they are importing. I haven't opened them in other applications.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. They do that already. Publish them to a photos page and when published and clicked on they will open in a larger window with a tray of thumbnails across the top. The slideshow also opens up to a larger size that can be paused to view more at leisure. Here's an example.
To get larger images that what's there you would have to upload a larger version, pixel wise, and then do a text link to each. That's not a good alternative. There may be other 3rd party slidehshow java file add on packages for the slideshow that might produce a larger size.
NOTE: Didn't notice you were using iWeb 1 so the example I gave is from iWeb 2.

How do I control the size of my photos in iWeb?

I wish to ask if it is possible to control the size of a photo in iWeb when publishing photos.
What I want is that people can press on any photo in my collection and see it in high resolution. But at the moment it is messing with my photos. Some come up tiny regardless of them being a 4MB Pixel shot, and most of them if not all of them are restricted to one size...

iWeb resizes photos in the following cases -
When using the of the photograph templates where you drag and drop your pictures:
1) Size is capped at 800px x 800px for the slide
2) Files are compressed, usually ~120KB\
3) New thumbs are created (the small image you click on); those tend to be 35-45KB.
If you add a shadow, reflect or graphic option - odds are iWeb will convert your JPEG into a PNG and file size mushrooms. I've been created very compact banners, but due to PNG coversion the size has gone up by 6-8x...
I have NOT looked into just adding a photo to page and seeing what happens to the file size. Most of my tug of war has been with slide show and trying to understand why the 300-500KB files I was using were looking so bad. Now that I know iWeb is doing, I can sort of work around it.
It doesn't mean I'm happy. I'm going to add a gallery page with my favorites, format for roughly 1000x800 and keep the file size around 400 KB. I do all the file resizing in Photoshop CS2.
To put all this in perspective, i have around 325 picture uploaded - most were resized to 450 KB for the web. That 146 MB just for pictures. Add another 10 MB for web content, etc. I thought ~160MB should be used up on the iDisk. Due to iWeb's compression, usage is only 70 MB for this site.

Cannot see Aperture 3 photos in iWeb

I have a huge problem... I am a photographer and am constantly updating my website, however, I cannot see my Aperture 3 photos in iWeb (the folders that I have created over the past few months don't show up at all). I have had to transfer photos from Aperture 3 to my iPhoto library in order to use them in iWeb, which is such a waste of time (and space). Can someone please assist???

If you have not found any problems using DiskUtility, I would suggest that you might try deleting your Aperture preferences file (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2945) then re-open Aperture and set your preferences up again. That may resolve the iWeb issue as well as your Export difficulties.

so one can add google maps to iweb, can one add a google map with geotagged photos from an album (either from iphoto, picasa or flickr) to iweb? i think it should be possible but i cannot find anything anywhere that can help

Aperture 3 - Places doesn't show the map

Hi,
just a quick question. I'm using Aperture 2 now, and thinking about moving to Aperture 3. I've downloaded the trial version to check out all the new feature. And i love it! Or boy...64bit support, curves.....:)
But one thing bothers me - when i've tried to use Places feature it's not showing any map. Just a white background. My photos have GPS coordinates (the same photos working fine in IPhoto). And i'm just wondering - is it a "feature" of a trial version or some kind of bug?
I remember i had the same problems with IPhoto after the initial launch of Places feature. But now it's working fine.
I'm on LAN connection at home (VPN). I guess that maybe a problem. I'll check other internet connection options as soon as i'll get to my studio.

I have the same problem as Samuel. I updated a few pics from iphoto to Aperture3. The first day I was able to set around 5 pics with no problem. But on the second day the map appeared blank. I do not have VPN, I checked my Lan and wireless, and tested in two different places but with no luck. I reinstall aperture3 and upgraded twice to 3.0.1 patch but still without solving.
Am I missing anything? I looked all the menus but I do not see any configuration for places section.

Location map: only loads partially. Where is the error ?

When I load the location map, either for identifying a new location for my photos or just to view the locations, I only see a part of the map. I see most of Europe but not North Africa, the Middle East etc. I do see the dots marking the location but not the underlying map. I use an imac with OSX.
