Show organization in master item form

Hi all,
I have created new organization and want to assign it items in master item from (inventory), but after creating new organization, I did not find this organization here , how can I find please let me know.

And check that your responsiblity has access to that new organization in case you use "Organization Access" to restrict access to orgs for respos. Check under Inventory > Setup > Organizations > Organization Access.

I am beginner in oracle apps technical
Using Oracle Application 11.5.10.2
I am not able open INVIDITM.fmb( Inventory Master Item Forms)
in form 6i. version 6.0.8.26
Getting a mysterious error that :-
Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
After that I regenerate the INVIDITM.fmb using following command :-
[root@oraapp US]# f60gen module=/apps/visappl/au/11.5.0/forms/US/INVIDITM.fmb userid=apps/apps@vis output_file=/apps/visappl/cus/11.5.0/log/INVIDITM.fmb module_type=form batch=yes compile_all=special
The form is regenerated on the server and copying that fmb file on my local machine.
Now trying to open it in form bulider again but now getting FRM-10043 : Cannot Open File.
Could any body help me out in resolving this error ????
And how to open this fmb file in form 6i ??

Hi,
Performing your action plan by copying all the files from AU_TOP to my local machine and then try to open the INVIDITM.fmb but still the same problem.
Is this the problem of forms version or some thing else?
Because I am able to able the POXPOEPO.fmb( Purchase Order form ) in the same version and do the customization as per requirement.
Could you please suggest any other alternative solution?

There are so many restrictions and special circumstances for creating or editing a custom form for Applications that you should ask this question in the Apps Forum (http://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=3). 1) Steps to Reproduce
Under Application Developer Common Modules responsibility,
1) Query Region MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS
2) Click on Region Items
3) Add Buyer Id and Planner Code attributes with Required checkbox checked.
4) Bounce iAS server and JVM and clear java cache
5) Changes not taking effect
Current Application Release: 11.5.10.2 (3460000)
Current INV Rollup: INV.J RUP22 (9878808)
Current WMS Rollup: WMS RUP19 (9951502)
Product Installation List :
Product Installation: 11i.BOM.J: Installed
Product Installation: 11i.EGO.E: Installed
Product Installation: 11i.ENG.I: Installed
Product Installation: 11i.INV.J: Installed

client needs to make the Buyer and Planner fields under Inventory->master Items form to be required.
He tried using the Application Developer Common Modules responsibility, to find the Master Items Region and added the Buyer Id and Planner Code attributes with the Required check-box set to Yes. He bounced the iAS server and cleared java cache, but the changes do not take effect.
client does not want to use form personalization.
Can you please provide more assistance for using Application Developer Common Modules responsibility?

A forms developer could make those fields required with a CUSTOM.pll extension if you didn't want to use forms personalization. Both are considered customizations to standard functionality and may or may not require rework after patching or upgrades.

Personalization of Master Items Form

Good day!
I would like to automatically pass a value in the 'Item' field of the Master Items form. The value of which is fetched from a sequence I created. I was adviced to use forms personalization. After briefly reading the guide from metalink. I came up with the following:

However, I get the error 'The String =SELECT seq_name.nextval FROM DUAL could not be evaluated because of error ORA-02287: sequence number not allowed here' when I try to click on validate.
Could someone kindly shed some light on how I can accomplish my task.

Personalization Issue with Master Item form EBS R12 -help needed

There is an existing personalization in EBS 11i on Master Item form (INVIDITM) that is ported over to R12. Personalization prevents one responsibility from making updates/inserts.
trigger event: WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE
responsibiity: INV Inquiry
Under Action tab:
Block>MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS>UPDATE_ALLOWED>FALSE
Block>MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS>INSERT_ALLOWED>FALSE
Block>MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS>DELETE_ALLOWED>FALSE (although this is not needed since seeded form prevents deletes)
In 11i this works as intended, i.e. when form is opened no updates or inserts are possible. When block is queried the data is not updatable, no inserts are possible.
In R12 (12.1.3) when form is opened no updates or inserts are possible. When block is queried the data fields become updatable and can be saved. No inserts are possible though.
I thought this is an anomaly.
Has anyone encountered this. If so what is the solution?

Can any Oracle Forms developer show what a master-details form is?

I created a master-detail form in APEX. However, the MD form really made me laugh because I needed to SAVE the master record and the detail tabular form separately. There was one SAVE button associated with the master record and one SAVE button associated with the detail tabular form. A master-detail form should let the user to SAVE the master record and the detail tabular form together - one SAVE button saves everything. This is what we can easily do in Oracle Forms - one master and several details (tabbed). I am just frustrated with all the current thin-client technologies including JDeveloper. I cannot simply tell the users that they need to nagviate between pages many times to finish data entry. It doesn't make sense to have the user requirements to fit the current "limited" technologies.

Not quite Forms functionality but master detail is shown in the Southwind demo on htmldb.oracle.com studio link.
The details need the master id, and hence the save is done prior creating details.
Forms of course relied on top down processing such that the header would be inserted before the details would be.
I know its not exactly what your looking for but it might be the best you can get..

How to hide/show images or master items?

Hi,
Just getting started in pages (on the free trial for now).
So far I like the way items (e.g. images) can be placed as "master objects". I'm using this feature to insert my business logo and address, so that I can send a PDF which matches my letterhead exactly.
But if I also want to print a hard copy onto the pre-printed letterhead, is there an easy way to hide the master objects? It'd be great if there was a toggle somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

That feature isn't built into Pages, but a work-around comes to mind. Assuming your background is white, you could insert a box, change its color to white, remove its border, then size it to cover up your master object. When not in use, drag it away and send it backward.

Old items are not populated after adding items into a master/detail form

Hi,
I am relatively new to APEX. I am creating a master/detail form. It works well. When I add new items the older items are no more populated. Why ?
For example I have an itme which is a select list as a Named LOV. At creation of the row I want the user to choose from this select list. It works well.
But when modifying the record, I don't want the user to change this name. For that purpose, I create an item which is a display only item. This item is conditional and appear only when the record has been created.
And this is where the problem comes. It seems to work but, if I logout of the application and login, then values are no more populated to the items and I get an error when trying to update the form.
I hope I make it clear. I have been trying a lot of times and found that if I add items, then everything goes wrong.

You don't say what the error is that you are getting - this may help us with your problem!
On the form, do you now have TWO fields - one being the original select list and the other being a read-only version of it? Is it likely that BOTH fields could appear on the page at the same time AND that both are connected to the field on the table?
You can set the select list to be read-only conditionally - in this case you could make it read-only on the condition of the primary key field not being null.

Master-Detail-Form; Hide/Show columns in detail form depending on column

i have a master detail form. In the detail form i have the columns:
ID, MASTER_ID_FK, PC_SOURCE, A_C1, A_C2, A_C3, B_C1, B_C2, B_C3
The Column PC_SOURCE should be a LOV with values
NULL
A
B
So if i choose or enter a master record the detail form appears and i can enter one or more detail records.
PC_SOURCE is the first column.
If i choose A, the columns B_C1, B_C2, B_C3 should disappear as there should no entry possible.
If i chhose B, the columsn A_C1, A_C2, A_C3 should disappear as there should no entry possible.
Is that possible?
I tried a little on my own but without success. I tried to put into the first column (PC SOURCE lov) in Element Attributes a javascript call like onChange="do_Refresh('#PC_SOURCE#');"
The javascript funktion do_Refresh tries to catch the column value and set a hidden item P1_SOURCE like document.getElementById('P1_SOURCE').value = v_source;
But this does not work, as there is not the value of the column fetched.
And probably can´t work because of the more than one detail rows.

Hi,
The html for your detail form will be a table of input elements with names f01,f02,etc. The columns for the key fields are normally hidden so your PC_SOURCE column will probably use the name f03. The name for column A_C1 will be f04 etc.
Once you have the input names for your columns you can create a dynamic action (DA) to hide the elements you want.
You want the DA to fire when any PC_SOURCE element is changed so you want the when to be:
Event: Change
Selection Type: jQuery Selector
jQuery Selector: input[name="f03"]
Condition: no condition
The action is to hide an element in the same row if the changed element is a value. So the action should be:
Action: Execute JavaScript Code
Fire when Event is: true
Code: if(this.triggeringElement.value=="A"){$x_Hide('f04_'+this.triggeringElement.id.split('_')[1])}
You then need lots of true actions for each element you want to hide.

File Browse Item in Master-Detail Form

Hi,
This is what I need to do.
I have a master table called Regulations. As part of the Regulation Creation process, users need to upload supporting files. The number of files is not fixed, so I have a detail table for the uploaded files. I was planning to create a Master Detail form and have a File Browse item in the detail region? Is there a way I can put a File Browse item in the detail region of the Master Detail form?
Any other implementation suggestions are welcome.

Null item (pk) in master detail form

Hello
I use two tables to create a master detail form, in the master table I use a PK based on an existing trigger on the db and that same field is used in the detail table as an FK.
When I create a new master detail form I want to insert all the items I need, but after I hit create button to insert the values into the master table, the pk item keeps a null value, so I would not be able to insert nothing in the details table.
How can I resolve this?

Have a look at the update / insert process on submit. There is a place to determine where to return the primary key. Put your primary key item there
P1_PRIMARY_KEY
and the record will stay there after creation.

Make detail items in master/detail form read only

I want to make detail items in master/detail form read only for certain conditions (master STATUS = Closed). I see how to do this on the master record items but not on detail items.

You will need to modify the code, but it should help since a master detail is just a standard form with a tabular form attached to it..

Item Master Data Form Question

I have a user defined table (i.e. Colours) connected to the Item Master Data Form (-150). This table is combo box on the form. Whenever I populate this combo I specify Code (i.e. 1) and Name (i.e. Red) values. Now if my form in the search mode and I bring list of the items by using * for item number (Form 1003) I can see matrix with number of records but unfortunately column with colours displays Code instead of Names. Please let me know whether it is possible to display Name value.

Master-Detail Form (How to pass an item value in Master to Detail field

I have a Master-Detail form. When adding a new record in the Detail section, I expect the primary key in the master record will copy down to the detail record. But, it is not doing that. Does anyone know how to pass the master primary key down to the detail record field.
By the way, query works fine. It knows the master-detail relationship. It is just when creating a new detail record, the key not pass down from the master record.
