Show photo full screen without border?
When I try to show a photograph "full screen" (ctrl-cmd-F), there is a border around the photo which wastes screen space and makes the photo harder to see than a true full screen display would. Is there a way to show photos over the whole screen without Photos adding anything (like borders or controls)? I know you can use the slider to make a single image fit the screen, but of course, that is unreasonable for many photos, especially if you are showing photographs to other people. Thanks.
I found the (sort of) answer after some playing a bit more. It seems that Photos does not enlarge a photo to fill the screen if the photo's resolution is less than the resolution of the screen (or maybe some multiple of the resolutions is used). So if you have a large photograph and show it in full screen, it will indeed take the full screen. But if you have say a 1200x800 photo on a MacBook Retina 15 inch, full screen will show the photo with a border around it.
I've never before seen a photo viewer that does not have an option to expand small photos to fill the screen, but apparently I have now. I assume this omission is in keeping with Apple's philosophy that function is secondary to simplicity (where simplicity is defined solely as keeping options to a minimum). I'd love to be wrong about this so if anyone knows of an option to expand all photos to fill the screen regardless of the resolution of the original image, I'd still like to know. Thanks again

I have several thousand photos in several folders. I have noticed that whenever I want to change the folder used as the side show source, it takes the Screen Saver Preference pane a very long time to respond. It is as if it is scanning all the photos in the currently assigned folder in order to display them in the preview window provided, and it gets so dogged down doing that it can't respond to my clicks on the Choose Folder option.
Assuming you don't want to redistribute your photos into a greater number of folders or subfolders so there would be fewer in each folder to process, you could try a workaround. Try moving your currently-assigned folder to your desktop temporarily, before opening the Screen Saver preference pane. If the preference pane can't find the old folder, it may immediately ask you to choose a new one. You could hopefully then do so, close the preference pane, and then put back the old folder.
It's my understanding that there will be no future updates to Tiger, only security fixes. -
Can't see photos full screen on my Ipod
Uploaded lots of photos to my Ipod - I can see them in the little squares but when I press the center button to view the photos full screen everything just goes blank. THANKS FOR ANY HELP
You probably just upgraded to the 1.0.3 software. This is a bug with the upgrade via Apple. You need to resync the photos. Erase them and resync the same way to put them on your ipod classic the first time and after you do that, they will show up full screen. You only need to resync one time after the 1.0.3 update. Not sure why this happens, but many ipod owners (including myself) experienced this after the 1.0.3 update and it was the only logical reason for all of our ipods suddenly not showing photos. After the resync, all is good again.

How do I make a contact photo full screen when receiving a call
I know this feature went away in iOS 7.1 and turned into the small round bubbles but it appears to have returned in iOS 8 and Apple is advertising it on their site in the Yosemite pictures. Does anyone know how to make my contact photos full screen again?
Scroll down to Continuity: http://www.apple.com/osx/There isn't a setting but there is a trick (at least on earlier iPhones but I suspect the 6 as well). For the photo to be full screen it must be a photo taken on the iPhone and still resident there. If you import the photo to a computer, delete it from the phone and then sync it back via iTunes, it will not display full screen. If the photo was taken on a previously owned iPhone and transferred to your new 6, it will not display full screen. If it is any consolation, I think the circular pictures are better when placing a call as the full screen ones aren't very visible behind the outgoing call screen, at least with my settings.

A file with a .PSA extension is most probably a catalog file from an older version of Elements (up to PSE5). To be able to use it with a newer version (including PSE12), you'll have to convert the catalog to the new format. In the organizer, open the 'File' menu, select the catalog manager (shift Ctrl C) and click the convert button, browse to the .psa file. Your catalog will be converted to the new format.

The option to take apps full screen is still available. Here are the steps on this feature in Yosemite.
Take apps full screen
In many apps, you can expand the window to fill your entire screen. While in full-screen view, swipe to see another app’s full-screen window, to see your desktop, or to see a space you created.
Expand to full-screen view: Click the green full-screen button in the top-left corner of an app window, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.
Move between windows in full-screen view: Swipe left or right on a trackpad or Magic Mouse. For more information, see Learn trackpad and mouse gestures.
Return to standard view: Move the pointer to the top-left corner of the screen, then click the green full-screen button again, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.

I am a keen photographer and I have just bought you SD card reader for ipad. This works well but was winding if there is an app that I can view the images on the SD card full screen without having to import them to the iPad or is there a way to do this on the iPad
The reason for buy this was for when I was out and about to get a better view off my images.

Once I've burned a DVD by exporting photos so a pc can read them, is there a way to view them full screen on my Mac without having to open each one in preview?
You would have to import them to iPhoto, iPhoto cannot work with images that are not in its library.
You might try some of the other viewers out there. -
As per the discussion title, I would like to be able to shoot with a tethered camera that will input images and display right away on my Mac on full screen, with each incoming photo display as such without ever going back to gallery view, and in each instance a .png graphics template is automatically overlayed on each photo that enters aperture such that when I print every photo the graphic template will appear on print.
Is aperture able to do this on its on? If so, how?
If not, is Apple script the only way to make this possible?Would it then be possible to direct aperture tethered shoots to a folder where aperture will hot import, from which I can use action after import via the scrip as you mention?
I've seen it being done with my own eyes but I wasn't able to inquire more... -
Edited photos not showing in full screen
I have edited some photos (crop and/or colour adustments). Although the thumbnail is still visible, it will not load in full screen mode - I'll only see a gree square with an explanation mark.
Even more annoying, a photo book I'd ordered came with grey spaces: again the thumbnail appeared allright, but if I click to view the page I get this screen picture holder. I'll have to ask for a reimbursement, but in the mean time, I'd like to know what to do.

I am having trouble with full screen also but not quite the same. I cannot get a previosly edited photo to show full size on the full screen. It only transfers in the same small size as it is in the Library source screen even though I clk on the preference for "edit in full screen." Any idea what is wrong?

in iphoto I can no longer see thumbnail pictures. I can only see full screen pictures one at a time. Please tell me what I need to change to get thumbnails back. Under iphoto/view thumbnails is grayed out.
