Show picture names during slideshow

Hi all,
is there a way to automaticly show the pictures file names during a slideshow?
Or automaticly number all the pictures?

In the iDVD window where you import your photographs for the slideshow, there is a gear icon along the lower menu bar called "Settings". Click on this and then click in the lowest box" Show titles and comments". Then select OK. Each photograph will now have two editable blocks: one for title and one for comments.
You could also edit the titles in iPhoto before you import them to iDVD.

Won't show entire photo during slideshow

I have many old scanned pics of various dimensions and when I create a slideshow, many of them are not shown in their entirety (think cropped) before the next slide comes. I have selected the "scale to fit" option but that doesn't quite get it done. Resizing them would distort the images, right? If I had small portrait pics in there and a large landscapes, wouldn't they come out looking like Kai's Super Goo projects?

I agree with the original post. I've got fairly regularly sized 4:3 photos, higher resolution than my screen, and I can't combine the Ken Burns effect and any other preference to ensure that I see the entire picture. Usually the top gets cut off - possibly because I have an iMac G5 whose aspect ratio is longer in relation to its height than my photos. The option to 'scale images to fit screen' doesn't seem to do anything either way - I would be happy with black bands at either side if I could get the whole pic but I can't. I can easily do this with GraphicConverter, a much simpler program. I am puzzled that people should be content to have slide shows where involuntary cropping takes place: and there's nothing in the Help file about it. Is it a Permissions problem?

Showing file names in Slideshow mode

Anyone know how to show the image filename in slideshow mode?
I often use Slideshow to help me pic out the strongest images in a set, but it would be really good to be able to see the file name so I could more easily remember them! Seems you can have the stars on ther, but little else, which is a shame

Activate Text Overlays in Overlays panel (right side). Click on ABC button on toolbar below image, choose Filename. Position and size as required

On holidays we took pictures with two cameras and an iPad. I put everithing on my PC. Rearranged them by date, time and or subject putting a number in front of the picture name. I synchronised with my iPad and my pictures show in misselaneous order. Help

You did nothing wrong, but the photo app puts stuff in chronological order.
You can look for another app. Afraid I don't have one to suggest, but I do understand that other apps will sort photos differently.

Slideshow picture names and controls

I am making a slideshow of about 30 pictures
what I want to do is show the names of the pictures and the controls (play/pause, next, previous) on the screen with the slideshow just like in iDVD
Does anyone have any ideas on how in the world to do this

The closest thing I could think of to automating the button and navigation creation would be to creat a chapter index from a template.
create your slideshow, and convert it to a track. create a custom menu template with one big chapter thumbnail button and the navigation. This way, you would not have to set the targets for each button on each menu.
Otherwise, you'll have to set up 30 individual menus with custom text and targets, or create a track from a slideshow and use buttons over video. Unfortunately, there is no way to automatically get the image filenames to display over the image.
Otherwise, do what I do and add a screen instructing users to use the chapter skip buttons to navigate between slides, and the menu button to back to the main menu....

Picture names not showing in iphoto+mail

I recently updated to ilife ´08 and can´t figure out how to get the actual data names to show. I don´t sant to see titles,ratings and keywords.. I want to see the actual names of the pictures. Also when I hit the mail button in iphoto the pictures are put in the mail... without the pictures name. If I drag and drop the pics to a desktop folder the names ar5e of course correct. But many of the people I send mails to are not even aware how to drag and drop. If I send someone an email with 40 pictures to chose from,I want them to see the names underneath the pictures in the email without having to drag and drop. This was always how it worked in ilife ´07 and it makes choosing the pictures and telling me which ones they want in high quality a very easy process. I can´t even figure out how to sort the photos by "NAME". If there is no way to change it then I will be going back to the older version. Sometimes "improvement" is not a good thing.
Does anybody know how to do this?

When you select a pic to Email in the iPhoto Window and hit the email button you have the option to include title and comments with the photo.

In iPhoto you have two concepts that are related:
Title is a name that you give to a photo in iPhoto
Filename is the name of the file that contains the photo.
Which are you referring to when you say "name"?

Show current function name during development.

Is it possible to show the name of the function in which I am at the moment?
In VB6 and Visual Studio the function name is shown on top (see attachment).
Inside long functions this functionality avoid much scrolling.

This is a really useful feature that unfortunately is not available in CVI.
Some months ago I posted a product suggestion asking for its implementation.
You can give a kudo to the idea if you think is useful too.

Gallery and picture names

I trying to create a gallery, lightbox anyone that allow me to display the name of the picture.
Normally I save pictures on a meaningful way that make since (even name, date and number ) So the idea of display the name of the picture during the presentation is so, viewer if interested on that particular picture, he or she can e-mail me that name and I will supply the full version of that picture via attachment.
The way I see in Muse so far, it show picture and maybe the counter xx/xxx (Number picture of so many) but that will mean, the viewer maybe will gave me something like this "picture no xx of the so and so date gallery". That will make me to go to the MUSE design area and count or track it back to see what they mean, hopping I get the right and sent the right original picture.
See my point?
can this be possible in Muse?

Hi, Madhup. Welcome to Microsoft Mobile Community! When you say "stopped syncing the pics", do you mean that you're unable to find the pictures that are saved on your memory card? If yes, have you tried inserting your SD card to another phone so we can further check it? Before doing a factory reset, were you able to create a backup? Note that aside from your memory card, you can use OneDrive to store all your pictures and important files into the cloud. In case you're referring to a different one, do let us know for us to properly address this.

How do i get my screen that show by columns (letf to right) 1) showed Albumn Name then under that showed Artist, next column listed songs on that albumn, next was time (song length), then Artist, Genre, Rating

I imported 2174 songs into my itunes from my husbands CD collection. Then for some reason i was checking out some of itune features. I clicked on FILE>DISPLAY DUPLICATES, Just to see what this feaure was. it changed my page to something that i did not like. I am trying to figure out how to get my itunes VIEW to what it was BEFORE i clicked on the DISPLAY DUPLICATES. My page before looked like: as follows (columns from LEFT TO RIGHT) showed:
COLUMN 1) showed ALBUMN NAME WITH ARTIST RIGHT UNDER THAT, then COLUMN 2) LISTED ALL THE SONGS ON THAT ALBUMN, COLUMN 3) SHOW TIME (SONG LENGTH), COLUMN 4) ARTIST 5) GENRE 6) RATING & 7) PLAYS (WHATEVER THAT MEANS?)
Now the screen: COLUMN 1) JUST LISTS THE ALBUMNS NAME (EACH ALBUMN ONCE, ALL THE WAY DOWN THE COLUMN. BESIDE EACH ALBUMN TITLE IS A (NUMBER...i.e. 13) THEN NEXT TO THAT IS 1 SONG (I AM ASSUMING THIS I HOW MANY TIMES THAT PARTICULAR SONG IS IN MY LIBARY), THEN TIME, ARTIST, GENRE, RATING & PLAYS...

The large text size makes your post almost impossible to read.
Excessive use of bold or capitals (also) makes posts difficult to read.
You can drag most of the column headings left or right, or right-click on the header to turn columns on or off.
Once you've used File > Display Duplicates or Shift > File > Display Exact Duplicates you can use File > Display All or the Display All button at the bottom of the list to restore the display.

IMessage not showing contact names

I just recently downloaded and installed OS X Mavericks on my 2011 iMac and trying to get up and running with the new iMessage app. But there are two major bugs I can figure out how to fix if anyone can help me fix these problems or comment if your having the same issues that would be a big help.
1: When receiving a message from someone in my contacts list/address book, their names do not apper next to the message, but rather only their phone numbers. I have went thought the view options and selected show contacts name and also tried adding a name to the existing number with no results. Does anyone know how to fix this bug?
2: The lag time between SMS/iphone messages and the time it takes to show up in iMessage on my mac is rather long. There is about a 3 minute delay before the text message conversation shows up from my phone to computer. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Re 2).
This is a bit of a "known Issue" with no current fix.
The issue is related to the fact a iOS device seems to get the "first " push of the iMessage and that the Mac only gets "Sync" push which seems to be slower (and for some bizarre reason not always in order)
Re 1) I have seen this reported but maybe not as clearly as your post.
No-one seemed to make it clear the Contacts were in the Address Book (Contacts app) and that it seemed to be ignoring the Names for just the Numbers.
Obviously you can use the View Menu > Messages > Show Pictures and Name (or Show Names)
As you say this should link the ID or iPhone Number being used in the iMessages to the "Real Name" in the Address Card for that person.
The options are:-
A) You are receiving an iMessage from an iPhone Number but the link to the Address Card is not working.
If you make sure you are sending to an Apple ID what do you see ? (Apple ID or Real Name or in fact the iPhone number again)
This may be because you have lost the ability to "read" the saved data for the Contacts app.
B) Check the Contacts app and see if it is Syncing properly with any iOS device (i.e that all items have the Name as well as an iPhone number in the Address Card.)

Is there a way to show file names with the events, in the event library window?

iM is meant for camcorder-imports - cams give automatic file-names with very little information (clip001); the more important info are in the meta-tags (when, perhaps where, after analyzing who, what) .. so, from the intended perspective of this app, there's no need/function to display clip-names.
the EVENT-concept structures on time-stamp, based upon the assumption, you record your movies on some 'daily' basis, think of vacations, city-trips, holidays ...
for your workflow, using 'files', I would suggest to prep all files in Finder, create folders, re-name them, arrange them (you do know, in Finder hitting Space-bar when a file is selected, it shows a preview? video as motion pictures?), whatever to structure them, THEN import to iM for editing.-

Navigational Attribute Filter value selection not showing full name

Hi Experts,
We are having Navigational Attribute TM Responsible. We have created variable in BEX for it. When we are searching for value selection for this in RSRT, its showing only last name and key part. But If I dont pass any values, and display the result its showing full name. Please find the screen shots.
Customer needs full name to be available for selection in filter in above picture 1.
Please suggest what needs to be done.

Hi All,
The issue is resolved. Making display as Long text at Infoobject level and at Query display level was not working. Hence I tried to change the display at Multiprovider level as shown below. This fixed the issue.
Right click Navigational attribute -> Provider specific properties
Made the display as Long text.
This setting resolved the problem.

N8 not showing the name of the contact calling

Hi All,
I have seen a strange issue with N8. I have never experienced this with any other Nokia phones that I have been using. Not sure if others have noticed it. Here is what I have experienced:
At times, I have seen that when I receive a call from the person who is already added in my contact list, the phone is just displaying the number and not the name of the person. When I check the Log, it also displays the number and not the name of the person.
Just so that someone might have a question, I have imported my contact list from my previous handset (Nokia N70) where it worked absolutely fine.
If someone has experienced the same kind of issue, could you please explain me and help me resolve it. It is quite inconvenient to identify the caller without the name and decide whether to accept or reject during work hours and have at times missed some important calls due to that.

Just so you know, guys, you're not the only ones with this issue. It suddenly popped up a week or so ago when I ran the PR 1.2 update OTA. And as to the comment about duplicate contacts, my phone used to show the name that was alphabetically first amongst the duplicates sharing the same number.
Nokia, you've made one the best devices thus far in the N8, and I feel like I can say that because I've used Nokia devices since the 3310, and am a diehard fan in every respect. But the issues I've had on the N8 are totally unbelievable. I still use a 7610 and I find it more reliable than the N8. Also, it's surprising to see how caustic your support team replies are to genuine problems your users are having with their phones, which are UNDOUBTEDLY a result of improperly thought out firmware upgrades and plain lack of user-friendliness. Nokia seems very happy to place the blame on the user, that is, provided they reply in the first place. And as to the solution above, the one that the operator at Nokia support recommended, is just plain idiotic. What exactly is the point of OTA upgrades if one has to perform it by cable anyways? And resetting the phone? Do I have to do it everytime I install something on my phone? Is that the solution to every problem on this great device? I mean, come ON Nokia. I gave up an iPhone 4 for this. Please try not to make me, and millions of others who have done the same thing regret our decision. We're not asking you to perform rocket science on clay tableta or a feat of some improbable technological wonder. We're asking you for things that are ALREADY there for AGES on other phones, and a little bit of consideration that I feel we've all earned. I honestly didnt mean for this to turn into a rant, but this is truly the first time ever that I've had such a troublesome device from Nokia, and witnessed such scathing indifference to user troubles, despite being squarely at fault with respect to buggy and incomplete firmware.

Picture Titles in Slideshow, different from filenames

I want to add a different title to each picture in a slideshow, but don't want to use filenames for this purpose. How do I do that?
My filenames work fine for filing, but are not suitable for enhancing a slideshow.

I'm new to Lightroom, but am trying to set up my slideshow first session presentation. I want the filename to show with each slide for identification purposes. But, I can't seem to find where to turn the filename on/off. I'm sure it's a simple operation, but I sure can't find it at the moment!!!!
