Show 'Processing' message during Submit ?

I have a page that has a number of input fields and a 'submit' button.
I want a "Processing" page to be displayed while the servlet is processing the submit data request. How do I do this ?
I've tried mapping the submit button to some JavaScript that forwards to a Processing.html page and then performing the submit but this causes the servlet response not to be displayed.

I am calling standard program RCATSCO from a report using following code:

                  AND RETURN.
When all data are already transferred to controlling this standard program displays a popup information message 'No data for transfer'. I need to suppress this popup and continue execution of the report. Please help.

One option is to do that check yourself and bypass submitting the program if there is no data to transfer. Another option is to submit the program via job. That way the the message will go to the job log. I see that you are using the option exporting list to memory, which means you want to read the spool after the program is executed. With the "via job" option, you may need to monitor the status of the job for completion and then read its spool.

How to clear grey loading screen and animated gif (Dynamic Action with "Show Processing" on submit)

I have a classic report on page 1. I have a region button called "Export" (defined by a submit dynamic action with "show processing=Yes") that submits the page and then via a branch directs me to page 2 which has a slightly different version of the report on page 1 (i.e. no breaks) which I want to capture as a CSV export. Therefore I've set the report template on page 2 to " Export:CSV".
Now when I click on the page 1 export button the grey screen and loading gif appears indicating that the report is executing and then as expected, page 2 doesn't appear but instead the standard open/save window's dialog box appears asking to open or save the generated CSV file. All good..but the grey loading screen remains. How do I clear this loading screen and get back to the context of page 1 ?

Hi PPlatt,
We would love to help but you left out one crucial part of the puzzle: namely how does your CSV report get exported. With the way it is setup (a redirect to another page), I'm going to assume you do that because you have some PL/SQL on that page that prints the CSV.
Now there are two questions that are crucial here:
- How do we stop the icon from bugging us on the screen
- How do we communicate with the browser that it should no longer display the loading icon
The first question is rather easy, two simply lines of codes can do that:

But when do we use this code? Quite simple when the document is downloaded. When is it downloaded? At the end of the PL/SQL code that prints the document to the browser.
What you could do is at the end of that code give an application item a certain value. For example :AI_PRINTED := 'Y';
Then all you need to do is let the browser ask for the value. You could do this by using JavaScript to continuously fire AJAX to the server using a JS timing event:

Better would be a Server send event, but since you left out another crucial piece of information: your browser, I will not go deeper into this.
Start this timing event when someone asks for the document, and end it as soon as the process returns that :AI_PRINTED equals 'Y'.
Despite the lack of information, I hope I have given, or at least inspired you to get to the solution.

I get that the preview file got corrupted somehow. Is there some way to fix this problem without building a new catalog?

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. You will see a folder with the extension .lrdata. You need to delete that folder and then start Lightroom again. Lightroom will generate a new previews folder.

First of all, this is completely normal behavior, although it's a bit irritating, I know. What happens is that when you close Firefox, despite the window disappearing right there and then, Firefox keeps running for a little bit until the whole closing procedure is completed. This can take a fraction of a second on fast computers, or can take a few seconds on slow computers or when Firefox is storing a large session (if you save your tabs). All you have to do is wait a bit until Firefox closes, and then open it again.
To see if it's still running, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and then, under the Processes tab, you can see if firefox.exe is still there. If it's taking an unusual amount of time to close (which happens very rarely, and only if the browser freezes on exit), you can force the application to terminate from this application (task manager).
Firefox 4.0 will reduce by 97% the time it takes firefox.exe to close, so this problem will be basically erased for Firefox's next version.
Until then, I can recommend you this extension, which helps you restart your browser more easily and without bothering about closing times:

Running on Windows XP SP3. No problem whatsoever before upgrading to 27. Sending this from Chrome as I cannot open Firefox at all.

Thanks jschaer2000: after starting it once in safe mode, I closed Mozilla and tried several restarts in normal mode. So far, all worked:-)

Still the automatic update process bothers me: it took me several days to discover the reason to the malfunction, since when I removed the problematic version from Add and Remove Programs, I didn't pay attention at first that it was another version, not v26 which I installed from my folder.
In addition, I like to save the installation files before I run new programs and if I didn't have v26 exe file, I couldn't have operated Mozilla at all. Not that it was fun to remove and install again each time v27 didn't react, but it was better than nothing, I still prefer Mozilla over its competition.

"iTunes has stopped working" error message during syncing

I've downloaded the latest version of iTunes, and just started to download Podcasts. But now I get the error message during syncing....almost everytime. Is there a solution out there or update that I haven't downloaded??

Same problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! I am getting ****** of to spend hours at the computer and reading those lame advises which do not help at all! I have my own things to do except reading your support websites. You could do this.
For that what you will have to do, is break your page into frames, or include iframes in your master page.
With framed solution, you could display in frame1 while frame2 is processing, and when frame2 has completed processing, it would change the content of the frame1 to show processing complete.
With iframes solution, you would submit the information to the iframe, and then keep showing the message, and then change the message after iframe has completed processing.
