Show Quick links under portal favorites

Dear friends,
I am integrating BI reports into SAP Enterprise protal 7.0
i have a scenario like after opening a report there is a button called "SAVE AS" . on clink of this i have to provide the description of the report and on click "OK" it should save it and the description part will go as a quick link under "protal favorites " of navigational pannel.
Could any body come across this scenario ..please provide your valuable inputs ..

Adding transaction under PORTAL FAVORITES

Hi all,
We have EP7.0 at our place.
We have integrated SRM in ENETERRPISE PORTAL and users see all different menu in Portal as pe rthe roles assigned.
Now for one of the roles,under "DETAILED NAVIGATION",users are able to see all transactions which are included for the corresponding role in SRM backend system.
However the requirement now is to allow users to add transactions themselves under the link PORTAL FAVORITES.
How can this be achiveed??

How can i add a new link to Portal favorites?

Hi,
I have created a portal application and configured it to a porta frame work page byy adding iViews and portal pages.
I would like to display an iView as a link in the portal favorites. I have added it to portal favorites as related link. But nothing is displayed in the portal favorites when i logged in as application user.
How can i add a link to the created iView just like the "DeveloperContent" link shown in portal favorites when we login as portal administrator?
Your help and suggestions solicited...

Hi Sudheesh,
The Related Links option is for Content Administrators to add links that they think will be useful for a certain page or iView...an end user can't add their own links to the Related Links iView. Also, you don't need Knowledge Management installed in the Portal for the Related Links iView to work. Also, Related Links will be available only on the pages/iViews that the Content Administrator has created them.

Portal Favorites is a nice option for end users to decide which iViews or pages they would like to be available from every Portal page.
To open new iViews/pages in a new window, rather than in the current Content Area, adjust the Workprotect mode of the portal (either the user can do it for their preference or the Administrator can do it for everyone):

I need to add a new link (like the current page in the portal) with java... but without using the menu tray bar.

/userhome/<userid>/Favorites/
So using KM APIs, try to add a link in to that folder and you can see it.

Open link from portal favorites

Hi all,
When we add some KM Navigation iView to portal favorites and try to open it from portal favorites link it opened with wrong layoutset (not the same layoutset that declarated in original iView). How can we change it?

Hi Ola,
we had the same problem, that we want to open the KM Folder in our customized layout and not in the standard user layout.
The only way we found to realize this, was to overwrite the standard user layout with our customized layout.
You will have to decide, if you want to change the standard in this case... a better solution we haven't found

Clicking a link in portal favorites opens in a new window?

I added few pages to my favorties and when i click on the the link in favorites, it is opening a dialog with "download" and save buttons. I donno why it is happening like that.
could some one help in this regard??

we have the same problem. We are on EP6 SP13, IE 6.0.
We can't solve it. Eighter with client-caching nor without caching.
On click on a favorite the ie-dialog ist coming out for open oder save the destination. When I choose "open" nothing happens.

Organize Entries option in Portal Favorite give 404 internal error

Hi All,
I am able to save the page under portal favorite. Under Context Menu for Portal Favorite Iview I get 3 options ( Open in new window, Refresh and Organize Entries). The first 2 options work fine i.e Open in new window and Refresh.
However I am facing issue with the 3rd option, Organize Entries. If I click on the organize entries option a new window opens up with 404 Error (page not found).
I tried to locate the page which the organize entries option is trying to open but am unable to find it. Also tried to run HTTP Trace for it, it s gave me URL http://<localhost>/unauthorized/userhome/<username>/favorites?Starturi... .
Kindly assist you have know the resolution for this.

I was able to resolve this on my own. Under system admin > system config > KM > Content Management > Global services > (Show Advanced Options) > URL generator services.
Here make sure you have the correct URL mentioned for Navigation Servelet and explorer servlet. That would be /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtrrot/com.sap.km.cm.navigation

BI Bookmarks in Portal Favorites

Hi
I am facing an issue with opening navigated and saved reports via Portal Favorites.
In the integrated BI report in the portal, I enter the variables in the variable entry screen and run the report. After the report loads, I click on 'Save As...' button and give a description and save it in Favorites tab.
When I need to access this report again directly without entering the variable values again, i click on the corresponding link in Portal Favorites. Although I would expect it to show me the report directly, it shows me the variable entry screen again.
But the bookmarks opens fine from within the Bex Report using 'Open' button next to the 'Save As...' button.
What am I doing wrong? Is there something that needs to be setup in the KM folder for this purpose?
Any help would be appreciated.

I am tired with portal favorites

Hi,
We have installed enterprise portal and added a couple of favorites,
scenario: I logged in as a super admin, went to user adminstration tab and added "create user" page to the Portal favorites. so I was able to see the corresponding link in the portal favorites iview. when i click on that link,
a file dialog window is opened asking to save or open
and when i click on "open", it pops up open with dialog asking to select a webservice or to open using existing program and I selected internet explorer, but it doesnt open
and when i click on "save", in the file save dialog, this doesnt have any file type.
I already tried for the solution in different threads in sdn forum, but my problem is not solved. many of them tell that it might be a problem with browser settings.
I can say that there is no problem with my browser, becuase i accessed two portal installations, one installation (sneak preview edition) works fine with portal favorites links where as not in when accessing ep 6.0 sp12 installation.
I am in urgent need of this as you know that favorites are important for any user.
P.S: URL links works fine in both installations.

Hi Koduru,
I read your other post also (clicking a link in portal favorites opens in a new window?).
I tried many setings at many places but could not reproduce your error. But it seems to be a portal problem rather than anything else.
But few things i can suggest. When you say that the Portal Fav works with other installations on your same machine, then you can do the following.
1) Edit both the portal fav iViews and compare the iView properties one by one. My be you will get something here.
2) Also check whether this behaviour is only for Portal Fav iView or any other iView in Dynamic Navigation. Attach some other iView in Dyn Nav and check. I mean you can create a custom (new & diff id) Portal Fav iView and attached in Dyn Nav and check.
3) Or attach the portal fav iView in content area of a custom page and check.
4) Check the Dynamic Nav iView from Portal Framework page and check its properties and compare it with the one which is working.
These are a few things which i can think upon right now.
May be this will not solve your problem quickly but will help in searching for the exact culprit.

Delete portal favorites

My user run the report in portal and save the result in Portal favorites.
Now user want to delete the portal favorites. how can i delete the portal favorites. pls hlp ?

In Portal, the user favorites are saved in KM repository, userhome -> <Login ID> -> Favorites.
If the user wants to delete the favorites he must be having a Portal Favorites iView on the left hand side. In that, there is quick link for "Organize favorites". Click on that and the user will be able to delete the favorites.
If user is unable to delete the portal, the content admin is able to delete it.
For content administrator, the navigation will be:
Content Administration -> KM content -> userhome -> <login id> -> favorites
and delete the required favorites.

Music is NOT part of the iPhone backup process. It would be redundant and make the backups very large and take too much time. Music should already exist in your iTunes library. If you're syncing on a regular basis, purchased items should be copied to iTunes automatically. If they are not, you can use File>Transfer Purchases in iTunes to transfer them.
Go into your account in iTunes. You may be able to re-download purchased music from there. It is not possible to do so in every country yet. Backing up your media is your responsibility.

Hi Vinodh,
Quick links are shortcuts to iViews and pages. Each quick link is a string that you add to the default portal URL in order to navigate to a specific iView or page.
Quick links provide a meaningful name for iViews and pages to which users may want to navigate.
Quick links are created by setting the Quick Link property of a page or iView. They can be assigned to any page or iView navigation node to which navigation is possible.
To view the page or iView, append a slash (/) to the default portal URL, followed by the quick link
The quicklink will appear like below
http://<hostname>:<port num>/irj/portal/<created quicklink>.

If possible you need to upgrade OS X. However, what you can upgrade to is dependent on what your Mac hardware and configuration is which you have not provided in your profile.

If I reset my PC to factory settings and I delete my TV Show files, can I retrieve my shows under the Purchased quick link or the Cloud?

That's my question. I want to know because I'm a novice and know nothing of Apple in general and so I don't need to back up my shows on a USB and waste space.

If you Purchased the TV Shows via iTunes, and your country allows you to re-download past purchases, then you would be able to re-download them from the Purchased under Quick Links:
