Show Reporting Activity values in Visual Composer

Hi everybody,
i add a Reporting Activity to my current BPM Process. My purpose is to show the report in Visual composer.
Unfortunately i don't know how to import the BPM Reporting Activity into VC?
Could anybody help me with a how-to-guide or a detailed description?

Hi Sid ,
In Visual Composer, choose Model Open... .
A list with all available models appears.
Browse the model structure and in the context menu of a model, choose Open Model.
The selected model opens for editing in the Design board.
Choose View->Task Panel -> Search to search for BPM DataSources.
The Search dialog appears.
From the Select provider dropdown menu, select BI Data Sources.
From the System destination dropdown menu, select BI (Sql) Portal.
In the Search for Table field, enter the name of the generic process or process context DataSource you want to find. You can use an asterisk (*) in the search string as a wildcard to search for a partial match. Choose the Search pushbutton.

Real-time analytics enables you to report against an operational system without using a BW system. Real-time analytics allows reporting on a subset of both generic process data and process context data. When performing real-time analytics, data is consumed and reports are displayed directly in the Visual Composer of the local system.
Reporting data is provided as DataSources to VC and you use the VC BI Kit to display the data.
Discovering BPM DataSources in Visual Composer:

...but per my understanding, in order to be able to select "BI Data Sources", because all BPM Data Sources can be accessed from this choice only, you need to have BW, and you need to configure the connection between your BPM and BW??
Also, your own custom BPM Data Sources can be created only with the "Reporting Activity" in NWDS, Process Development perspective??

How to identify active layer in Visual Composer 7.0

Hi Experts,
I am using a model with several layers and a link tree navigation control.
Is there a way to find out on which of the layers the user currently is?
For example: If the user opens Tab 3 can I then get the information tab = 3?
I need this for guard conditions and for a button to open a hyperlink where the url depends on the layer.

Hi Markus
Instead of using the Navigation Control "Link Tree" I would set Navigation Control to "None" and model your own navigation with a form view containing buttons to navigate between layers. You can then use a Data Store with a field called "Tab" and default value Tab1. When you trigger the event to navigate to other tabs update the Data Store field Tab with the target tab value. You can then base guard conditions etc. on the Tab value in the Data Store.

i have been working with VC for 3months, i want to create hierarchies or see the tree view for an organization .its not posssible , its gng only uppto one level, is there any way tpo go to third level hierarchy .

Hi all,
i also try to report hirarchies with the visual composer.
I created designed my model as described in the How to... paper.
But i get following error message when i try to drill down.
An error returned form the back-end system: URLDecoder: Illegal hex characters in escape (%) pattern - For input string: "#I"
Is this a known issue?

SAP Visual Composer tool

Hi,
My portal team is currently developing some reports using the SAP Visual Composer tool. How do we make a BW cube or ODS available for VC to see?
They can currently see only a few of the cubes, but we don't know how those are visible to VC and not others.

i dont believe we can see cubes or ods thru VC, but only queries. if what you say is true, then its probably due to the user authorizations on BW. the userId you use in portal is normally mapped to a userId in the BW system. chck the userID that you're mapped to (in BW bckend) has the relevant authorizations to view those cubes etc.

Portal Activity report through Visual Composer

Hi all,
We are implementing the activity report model in Visual Composer as described in the Wiki:

We are able to find the required webservices and drag them onto the storyboard. But when we try to test the webservice Getcontentstat with correct input we receive an error:
Portal request failed. (Could not execute webservice, consult your administrator).
We guessed this was some sort of authentication error, so we defined a differerent user for the webservice in Visual Administrator and then we receive a different kind of error:
Portal request failed (Fault returned from server: )
Any suggestions are very welcome.

I facing the same problem when i try execute this webservice from soapUi client.
What did you did for to solve this problem?
The message is:
The User Authentification is not correct to access to the Portal Service com.sap.portal.prt.soap.ActivityReportWS or the service was not found.
When i execute from VC, returns no messages.

Visual Composer 7.0-Change the Y-axis from decimal scale value to integer

Hi Experts,
I'm new in Visual Composer 7.0, my report is work fine, but when I want to show the data in bar-chart, the values on y-axis are 0.0, 0.4.0.8,1.2,1.6.2.0 but i want like 1,2,3,4.
Normally, this happen when values on y-axis less than 5, if more than 5, it will turn to 1,2,3,4. (which i expected)
Inside my function module, I set all the data as integer already..
I read through some suggestions in the forum, they suggest using 'Fixed range' and set the interval size, but need to include min & max value. But, inside my program, min value & max value has to be automatically adjusted, ie i can not set the values for those.
Please suggest solution for me, need it urgently..

Default Value in Numeric Input Field in Visual Composer Application

Hi All,
I have developed a visual composer application which has a numeric input field for Hours.
It is mapped to a backend module.
We are using portal 7.31
The problem is that the deafult value of this input field is "0", but the rquirement is to display as "0.0"
The functionality has been tested with input values in decimals and works fine. The problem is when the screen first populates, that field should show "0.0" .

I don't know of an agreeable way around it. You could have a textual input, but then it doesn't have the numeric control behavior, plus you need to handle incorrect typing (alphanumeric notes).

Items with zero stock quantity show negative stock value in Stock reports

When running Stock reports for controlling the stock value towards the GL accounts, some items appear with zero stock quantity, but the report still shows a stock value (negative value in my case)
How can this happen, and how can I correct this situation ?
System parameters are : negative stock is not allowed, Items with zero cost price not allowed. On item level average cost price method is used.

Hi Johnsen,
I believe you have checked the" Manage Inventory by warehouse". I have noticed this issue in SAP B1 2005B but this is rectified in 2007B. The system behaves in this way as the system maintains item cost for the item for all warehouses and even if the stock is not present in the warehouse, the system would still show you a value for the same. CJI5 commitment line item report not showing po gross value

Dear All,
system is showing only net value in CJI5 report, actaully gross value of po must be reflected in CJI5 report and this happening in all po's like material, service's etc. example is as follows.
Example:
po net value: 1000
st 10%: 100
po gross value : 1100 (inclusive of all taxes, ed, disc. etc)
what could be the reason for not showing po gross value in commitment line item report.

As far as i know the commitment report will never show you the value that is inclusive of taxes. It will only show the net value of the PO.
I just tried a scenario in my system by creating a PO for a net value of 3000 GBP and based on the tax code i entered system calculated a tax of 525 GBP. However when i check CJI5 report it shows only 3000 GBP as commitment and not 3525 GBP. This is how the standard system behaves, i believe. You can cross check this in the table COOI. The COOI table also shows the net value of the PO and does not include the tax amount in commitment.

the only way I know is manage the attribute descriptiona s a property and then enable the pivot table option "Show properties in tooltip".
But I'm interested in what you mean with "using
"OLAP pivot table extension" is an option". How this works?

Value Help for Date inverval in Variable Form in Visual Composer

Hi all,
I have created a variable form which has Date interval with value help as one of the parameters.
when i click on the value help and select any date interval then it is displayed as say '20081015:20090101' but when i submit this value i get an error "INVALID_VARIABLE_VALUES".
this variable is working fine when i manually enter the interval as '10/15/2008:01/01/2009'.
is there any way where we can input the date interval value as '10/15/2008:01/01/2009' using the value help.
any help is highly appreciated.

Hi Ramakrishna,
Value help is considered as a popup iview in visual composer. You can change the fields in popup iview like normal iview. Drill down the popup iview of the value help and change the date format using DSTR function.

Asset report S_ALR_87011963 is not showing the asset values for perion 08

Hi,
The internal order number is 400011.The amount 38,300 were booked on this order. I have settled 38,050 into 7 assets hence the balance is 250 in this internal order (Work in progress 100050).
When i check the Asset expolorer, there it is showing me this remaining value. But when i run any asset report, say Transaction code - S_ALR_87011963(Asset balances) with report date as 30/05/2008 for period 8, the asset 100050 is showing as NIL Value. But if i run it with date as 30/09/2008 for period 12, then it is showing the balance amount.Our fiscal year is frorm Oct- Sep.
I don't understand why this difference is coming. It should show the balance 250 at the end of period 8.
The last input on this internal order was in March 08 when I transfered most of the costs to the assets.So no reason to have a difference depending on the date of the report.
The internal order 400011 is having status as Released at present.
Can anyboday help me on this. Points will awarded.

Could you please me How to Upload the GL or Open Item Balances on Month to Month Basis? for this we still use FB01 for Initial Upload?
My Client is giving the balance for last year Monthly with daily Transactions with past Posting dates obviously,do I need to Upload with same Posting dates or with Current Posting date?
For reporting Purpose My Client would like to see Monthly Balances of Open items for Initial Upload,"is this same as Month to Month Upload you advised above"?
What is the Difference b/w Month to Month ORr Just one Amount as total balance uploaded to SAP? which is Best Practice before Initial Upload?
