Show Scroll Bar set to yes leads to exit form

We have converted our forms from Forms 5 to Forms 6 with Patch 7. If in any of the blocks the "Show Scroll Bar" property is set to Yes then the moment the form is executed it exits. Why does this happen ? Any solution !

Select the entire line that follows (triple-click to select it), then control-click, and from the contextual menu that appears, select Services > Reveal in Finder:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
Drag that file to the Desktop, then restart the Finder by following these instructions:
OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
If you determine that does not help or causes other problems you can undo the effects of the above by dragging that file from the Desktop to its original location.

Text doesn't show, scroll bar does? using Flash CS3 Please help!

A little background: I made text box, typed some text, converted it to a movie clip, named etc. Used a purchased and proven scroller component ... followed directions to the letter, including referencing/linking the files. However, when I tried to test the scroll bar .... the scroll bar appears, scrolls and works perfectly except the text does not appear. I have tried making a scroll bar with the UIscrollbar same thing happens. I made an other attempt and put pics along with the text in the movie clip ... this time the pics appeared and scrolled, but the text still would not appear. PLEASE HELP. I am on a deadline and can't get past this scroll bar issue. THANK YOU!

Thanks for the tip. I did embed the text, but still not showing. Currently, I have the text box set to the following: Dynamic Text, Multiline, Border Around text, Anti-Alias for Animation (but I have tried all choices and embed the text each time).
Here are the original instructions with the FTscrollbar which I followed exactly.
1. Drag the component (FTscrollbar) from the components panel to the stage.
2. Create a new movie clip to be scrolled:
     a. create a textfield on the scene and type in a few lines of text
     b. select the text fields and covert them to a move clip symbol having the registration point top left. (I did top right since my scroll bar is on the right).
     c. give the new movie clip an name in properties panel.
3.Select the component of the stage and configure its parameters in the parameters panel or component inspector panel.
     a. Instruc the component to scroll the new created movie clip as the targetMovieClip
     b. Set the viewAreaHeight and viewAreaWidth
     c. set snapMode to snapToView value
     d. leave rest of parameters unchanged unless you want to adjust.
4. Test Movie (contol/test movie)
On the FTscrollbar, I have the targetMovieClip set to the movieclips name the only other parameters the instructions said to change were veiwAreaHeight=100 veiwAreaWidth=150 which were the defaults. When I change this numbers the scroll bar goes away and the text still doesn't appear? The scroll bar is 16 x 140, the text box to be scrolled is 130 x 143 and the entire flash page is 500 x 550. I am not sure what the viewAreaHeight and viewAreaWidth are for ... or if that could be the problem? I have never had problems with scrollers but I used MX. I just recently purchased the CS3 and I am not sure what I am not selecting or not selecting but if feel it's probably something simple I am overlooking. So any more ideas are MOST APPRECIATED. If you need more info from me to help solve, please feel free to ask. THANKS!

The "Always show tab bar" setting keeps unchecking itself.

I'm using Firefox 4 on multiple machines all running windows 7 and synchronized with built in Sync and one instance on Android. I've noticed sometimes when closing all but the last tab that no tabs show in the tab bar (which is on top, I like that!). I go into "options" - "tabs" and see that "always show tab bar" is unchecked. I check it and get back to daily routines, only few days later the same thing happens again. By the way, I've noticed the same on my girlfriend's computer, also running windows 7, but not synchronized to any other computers. It's not a disaster, just annoying when it happens- as if someone sneaked in and changed my settings. Please help. Thanks.

First check to make sure that an add-on is not interfering with behavior, to do that follow the procedure in the [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article.
If it is not caused by an add-on, as a test you can create a new profile. Firefox stores user data and in profiles, creating a new profile will confirm if there is a problem with your current profile. Everything was maximized so that wasn't it. When I went into another project schedule it did not happen at all.
This was a dumb user error problem. :-( The horizontal scroll bar disappeared because all the columns fit on the screen so there was nothing to scroll. However I wanted to stretch out the most far right column (the Notes column) so that it would print
nicely on legal landscape paper and it wouldn't let me. Of course I fixed it by widening a different column which brought the horizontal scroll bar back.
What's weird is I never had this problem with MSP 2010 (probably just coincidentally) so of course I wanted to blame 2013 since I just got it. :-)

Scrolling - I want my site to be central on screen, so I have pined it, yet if the screen using to view is smaller than mine, it wont scroll? even though it shows scroll bars.

I have designed a wide site so the background fills the screen on all size monitors. However because I have pined it to the top and central it wont scroll on smaller screens. How do I keep the site central when first opened and allow it to scroll vertically?

That is a default behavior where the page content is wider but the resolution or browser window is smaller, then browser will add auto scroll.
I have checked the site with a lower resolution and I can scroll down the page vertically and horizontally , is that you see the issue with any specific resolution or browser ?

How to attach scroll bar to my form in oracle forms 10g.

i read it.
and i set my Window's Show Vertical Scrollbar property to Yes.
Though it is not being displayed.
When i Set my Block's Show Scroll bar Property to Yes and Scroll Bar Canvas Property to CANVAS6, Scrollbar is displayed byt it is not activated.not clear, but if you are trying to scroll the canvas and see the items then you have to set the canvas's horizontal scroll bar to 'yes'.

Do preferences in other programs run in this account stick? That is if you change a Safari preference or Finder preference in this account does the new settings remain?
If in System Preferences you change Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps does it stick?
Try this:
restart you machine holding down the option key while the machine reboots. You will be presented disk icons which allow you to choose which drive to boot off, select the Recovery HD.
Once the system comes up in Recovery mode go past the language select screen and the select the Utilities menu item at the top of the screen. Select Terminal.
In the open terminal window type resetpassword and press return. The Reset Password window will open. Select the root HD, then select the user account that is having the problem. Then at the bottom of the window select Reset Home Folder Permissions and ACLs
Then quit Reset Password, quit Terminal then quit Mac OS X Utilities. The restart the machine.
Try the System Preferences report back if that didn;t fix the problem.

Scroll Bar in forms 6i

I have the following requirement-
to create a form based on table columns of a customized table as per bissuness requirement and register it onto oracle apps 11i. the table has around 80 columns. so horizontal scroll bar is required to scroll thru all the columns. and it is also required to display 10 records when the form opens. so vertical scroll bar is required to scroll through the records.
i tried lots of combinations like - seting show scroll bar - yes, scroll bar orientation - vertical on the DataBlock property pellet. and show horizontal scroll bar on the canvas property pellet. the canvas i created from the Datablock is a stacked canvas only.
please suggest if i am missing anything, as scroll bar is never showing up. neither vertical nor horizontal. atleast m able to see the vertical scroll bar on the canvas layout editor. but its not coming on the Apps Forms window.

1. Create your main canvas Type will be CONTENT.
2. Draw a stack canvas over it
3. Set the Viewport width and height property of the stack canvas to visible area (Press F4 by selecting it or Right click Properties in Object Navigator).
4. Set the Canvas Width so u can put all your field in that canvas.
5. Set the Horizontal or Vertical scroll bar property of the Stack canvas.
Note: Canvas width and viewport width both are different things. Viewport is the visible area of the canvas

Forms 6i scroll bar

This is a form running in Forms 6i and Windows 2000.
I have a block on a Tabbed Canvas. I want to activate the scroll bar on it.On the Block property,
I set Show Scroll Bar as Yes
Scroll Bar Canvas - The Tab Canvas Name
Scroll Bar Tab Page - The Tab Page name
But in Runtime, the Scroll show , but they are not active. The Window Canvas is active though(because there were some items in the page which went beyond the screen). I resized the window to a smaller size and the Window Scroll bars disappeared - which is what it should do. But I wonder why the Block scroll bars never get activated...
Even when I set I set the block scroll bar property to No, the scroll bars on the block are visible thought not active...
Anybody have any clue why this is happening...

Hi,
There are two kinds of scrollbars. The one you are talking about belongs to the block. This is used to navigate between records in the block. The other scrollbar belongs to the "window" object. Unfortunately that scrollbar will become active only if you have a canvas of type "content". If you have just a tabbed canvas the scrollbar is not active. You can try the following solution suggested by Oracle on their Metalink site

The only problem with this approach is that even when you have a big screen or high screen resolution,the window will come up in small size with the scrollbar. If you have allowed the end user to adjust the size of the screen then they can increase the window size and make the scrollbar to go away. Scroll bars in Lion

How do I adjust the scroll bars in Lion? I want the scroll bars to be visible always, and wide (like they were in previous operating systems).
In Lion, when I open a file, the scroll bar is invisible. To get the scroll bar to appear, I have to stab blindly for the thing, until I get lucky and hit it. Then, when the scroll bar does appear, it is excruciatingly narrow, and I have to really focus all of my mental powers in order to hit the darn thing.

How to get rid of scroll bars in sub panels when displaying a VI which is part of a class?

I am writing an application that applies different analyses to a set of data. The program must be flexible configurable. To not clutter the GUI with too much elements I ended up with the idea to load the needed user interfaces for each specific analysis dynamically into a single sub panel when needed. This works well without any problem.
Due to the fact that all analyses share some common functionality I have decided to use LabVIEW classes for implementation. Each class has one VI representing the user interface to show in the sub panel.
This works also well BUT the sub panel always shows a horizontal and vertical scroll bar I don't want to see!
I have already learned that I need to change the user interface VI to a custom "Window Appearance" and disable the "Show scroll bar" properties. But this seems to work only for "normal" VIs but not for VIs that are part of a class.
Any ideas?

Thanks Pixar, this was the right tip!
Although: there seems to be a difference between "normal" VIs and VIs that are members of a class.
For "normal" VIs it is sufficient to set the property to "Off While Running" and it works as expected.
VIs part of a class need the "Always Off" setting" which is only accessible via right click on the scroll bars but not via the VI's properties box.
