Show stage and start playing sooner before loaded

I am making a flash game - right now, the swf is 3 megs in size and will probably be much bigger by the time it's done.
I have preloader code on frame 1 to show a progress bar and animation  that waits for the entire movie to load.
However, the website doesn't display the SWF until it's almost completely loaded so by the time you actually see the progress bar, it's at 75% or so.
The preloader doesn't have any sound or graphics, just a progress bar and text field.
Is there a way I can force th webpage to show the flash swf and start playing it as soon as frame 1 is loaded instead of waiting for the entire thing?
I tried to create an external movie loader, but that causes problems with all the code that I have written so far, plus I think there is a requirement that I can't do that as I need to only have the 1 swf file, and 2 would be a no-no.
Thanks

ok, I moved everythign to frame 2, so frame 1 has a blank keyframe on all my layers. No code or assets.
I then set the publish settings to export on frame 6 (after the preloader prog bar and such)
problem is the embedded fonts are still set to export on frame 1 (while all the other classes are now frame 6 as set by the publish settings)
I can uncheck the export in frame 1, but then none of the embedded fonts show up.
is there a way around that?

Is there a way that iTunes can act as a Radio Alarm Clock?
I have found the radio station I enjoy listening to in the iTunes Radio List. Is there anyway iTunes (and my Mac) can be set to come-on from Sleep mode and start playing that Radio Station at specific times of the day?
Any App or plug-in that does that?
    Many thanks

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
    1.  In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
    2.  Export the playlist (as .m3u works well).  Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
    3.  In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
    4.  Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
    5.  For "alarm" select Open File.
    6.  Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open.  It will probably be some default entry (like iCal).  Click on it will allow you to select "other."  Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time.  You don't need to keep iCal running.  If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do.  Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button.  Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

  • ITunes 10.7 turns on and starts playing anytime iMac is moved?!

I downloaded the new version of iTunes yesterday, and now anytime my iMac is jostled or moved, iTunes turns on and starts playing. My iMac is 9 months old, and I never had this problem until yesterday. iTunes can be triggered if I just bump my desk; no other programs start up. I have tried restarting my computer, and this helped for a little while, but then the problem started up again. If I move the computer once, iTunes turns on and starts playing. If I bump it again, iTunes stops playing. If I bump it again, it resumes playing, and so on. Is this a software or hardware problem? Should I try downgrading to the older version of iTunes to confirm if this is a result of the upgrade? If so, how would I do that? If it could possibly make a difference, I had my iPad USB cord plugged into the back of my computer, and after just now removing it, I can't seem to recreate the problem (it dawned on me that iTunes automatically loads when I plug my iPad in, so maybe it had something to do with the cord). Is it possible the USB cord was triggering iTunes? Any thoughts that anybody can provide would be tremendously appreciated. If at all possible, I would like to avoid lugging my computer to the nearest Apple Store.

Is there anyone out there who has suggestions for a fix on this?  I can't believe that this is such an obscure problem that none of the power users in our community can't help us out.
    Thanks, folks.

Just a quick update with a couple more details before I go to work:
I left my phone plugged into the wall charger all night long but the Apple logo is still blinking on and off. However, when unplugged from the charger, the screen goes blank and the unit does not respond to pressing/holding the buttons at all. Likewise, flipping the mute switch does not cause the phone to vibrate as it normally would, which made me wonder if power was being disrupted somewhere else in the unit before the battery. I just finished disassembling the unit down to the battery, looked for any loose connections etc., and did spot a suspicious looking spot on top of the #5 ribbon connector that I had not taken notice of before in my first disassembly. I'll take a picture of it and post a link for your consideration later on today when I have a spare moment, although I fear the worst.

My MacBook Pro 10.6.8 prompted me of a new itunes update this morning, so i downloaded it. Since then itunes has been starting up randomly on its own, and starts playing the first song on the list. I pause the song, and it resumes it on its own again. I'm not joking. So, I end up quiting out of itunes; but, it starts right back up again on its own. After quiting out of the app a few times, it eventually stops reopening; however, about an hour later (or less) it opens again. HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP? I'm just about to delete itunes, because I've had enough of this crap. I hope someone can help. I've restarted the laptop, and it seemed like that fixed it, then itunes started up doing the same thing again an hour later. ituneshelper is unchecked; bluetooth is off; i only have speakers and a mouse plugged in (also charger).

Read this Apple Discussion Thread and possible solutions. The audio jack has been the main culprit, also certain sync and automation settings including connected remotes.

  • Re: iTunes keeps opening by itself and starts playing music

I have something really strange going on.
My iTunes keeps opening by itself and starts playing music. I cannot figure this out. I turned off the "Sync Via Wireless" on all my gadgets, but this continues to happen. This has woken me up in the middle of the night until I got so tired of it I just shut my Mac down.
Anybody hear of this? Know what to do?

I had the same problem - and as well as opening by itself iTunes was skipping from track to track like crazy. But then I found a post from a few years ago that fixed this.
Connect your iPhone to your iMac and uncheck the box that says 'Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected'. Problem solved!
    Hope this works for you.

You don't. That is how it works. It is a verification process. Would you like anyone that picked up your phone to be able to make purchases? I don't think so.

  • Why does my itunes turn on by itself and start playing music without me clicking on itunes or without hitting play on the keyboard?

My itunes will automatically start playing music when im on the computer away from the computer or across the house.  I am not accidently hitting play on the keyboard or anything.  I even quit itunes to close it completly down and still will open back up and start playing music on its own.  i need some help on resolving this issue as it is annoying me to death! lol

Open Finder> click Go> hold Option and you'll see Library, then browse to the iTunes and iTunes Plug-ins folders.
To get to the other folder click Go > Computer > Macintosh HD > then browse to the iTunes and iTunes Plug-ins folders.
Close iTunes and try moving add-ons not manufactured by Apple temporarily to the Desktop to troubleshoot the behavior. iTunes stores these plug-ins and scripts in the following locations:
    Mac:
    /Users/username/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/
    /Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/

  • I just downloaded itunes match and started playing one song (country) and in the middle of the song it started paying another song.

I just purchased itunes match, started playing a song and in the middle of the song it started playing another song (not on my playlist) still showing the image of the original song.

  • Stop and Start play from iPod - fine from HD library

I use an iMac G5/2ghz/1.5G at my office. I installed upgrades this morning for both iTunes and Tiger, and now, when I connect my iPod to play through iTunes, I get the stop and start stutter play.
I ripped files off the iPod and put them into the hard drive library, and those play fine, but anything that's playing through the iPod is stuttered.
FYI - it's a third gen 20G iPod, connected via Firewire, with v2.3 software.
This Mac is authorized to play everything on my iPod, and it was all working fine before the upgrade - so, any ideas?
(Please help - I can't stand listening to local radio with commercials, and the bandwidth police will close in on my for listening to streaming...)
    Thanks.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this atwww.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
