Showcase Photoshop Designs directly in Edge Inspect

Hi there,
I'm wondering if there's a possibility to show designs made in Photoshop directly on Edge Inspect-connected devices without setting up an Edge Reflow project.
At the moment I use a workaround with Chrome plugin, a locally set up web server and an HTML template which scales an exported image to full screen width. But it would be awesome if I could send my artwork to the mobile device directly from Photoshop.
Cheers
czery

Hi Ryan,
thanks for your reply. There is not much more to say about this topic than
this: I would love to instantly preview a Photoshop design of an app or
website directly on my smartphone without having to create a Reflow
project. Just mirroring Photoshop stage fullscreen to my android phone.
Anyway, if you would like to ask some more questions, I am happy to answer
them via phone (+4917620126602) workdays until 5pm CET or via email anytime
Cheers
Jerry

  • How to download Adobe Edge Inspect?

    It maybe weekend woes, but I find it impossible to download Adobe Edge Inspect. For starters, I would like to test the free version.
    This is what I'm doing
    1 )install the Edge Inspect Extension on Chrome
    2) sign up for Adobe Create Cloud
    3) go to apps
    x) edge tools & services does not include an icon for Edge Inspect
    Following this blog post:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/edgeinspect/2012/10/23/how-to-purchase-edge-inspect/
    5) Go to plans page to select "getting started"
    x) the button is disabled
    Trying on the main edge inspect website
    http://html.adobe.com/edge/inspect/
    6) click on edge inspect
    7) click on getting started
    x) I'm back in the cloud apps section, without the edge inspect icon
    I then downloaded the Adobe Application Manager
    x) When running there is also no option to download edge inspector
    Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong?

    The Learn More link for Adobe Edge Inspect directs you to different pages depending on if you are signed in or not with your Adobe ID.
    If you are not signed in you will go to here http://www.adobe.com/go/edgeinspect which redirects you to here http://html.adobe.com/edge/inspect/. This is information on Inspect.
    If you are signed in you will go here https://creative.adobe.com/inspect and be able to download Inspect. If you are not signed in and try to go to https://creative.adobe.com/inspect you will be redirected to https://creative.adobe.com from where you can sign in or create a new Adobe ID.

  • Problems downloading edge inspect

    I have downloaded adobe edge inspect cc on my computer and the creative cloud says it is up to date and the icon is on my toolbar and it says it is open but does nothing. When I try to connect the adobe edge inspect plug in I get the message: cdnewhire 1, waiting for a connection. I want to view my captivate projects in inspect but for some reason edge inpect is just not working.

    Hi,
       Did you install all the application components required? Please follow these steps to get it up and running.
    Make sure your computer and devices are all on the same wireless network.
    Start the Creative Cloud desktop app and login with Adobe ID.
    Ensure that port 7682 is not blocked by any other application e.g. firewall etc.
    Start the Edge Inspect application on your computer. Click on the Inspect icon and check whether your Adobe ID is displayed in the menu. Also, start the Edge Inspect apps on each of your devices.
    Let the devices discover the computer via Bonjour, or manually connect them by entering the IP address.
    Enter the passcode for each device in the Edge Inspect Chrome extension to perform a one-time pairing process, then begin previewing and inspecting.
    For details you can refer to this document: http://www.adobe.com/inspire/2012/12/web-designs-edge-inspect.html
    Please let me know in case you need more information. I will be happy to help.

  • Adobe Edge Inspect CCのインストールができない

    当方の環境:Mac book pro OS X(ver.10.9.1)

  • How does Edge Inspect emulate on device?

    I'm not asking how to hook everything up and get what I'm seeing on my desktop to show on my connected device. I've got that part down.
    Basically, I'm trying to decide between building a web app and building a hybrid app. For design and QA testing purposes, I'm trying to figure out how Edge Inspect is rendering the device. I know the Chrome extension has to be installed for this all to work, so is it displayed on the device with Chrome's rendering engine? Or is Edge Inspect tapping into the device's OS rendering?
    This matters because a web app would require testing on various mobile browsers for a consistent experience, but a hybrid app would require just testing on a few different OS that you choose to support. If Edge Inspect is emulating more like an app would, I will most likely go with a hybrid app. If not, I plan to try the web app route.
    Tips and advice are appreciated! Thanks!

    Edge Inspect doesn't emulate. In both of our device clients we've built in the appropriate web components (WebView - Android / UIWebView - iOS) and display the web pages in those components.
    So, when you browse to a URL in Chrome, we grab that URL and send it to the connected devices. On the device we take the URL, tell the web component to browse to it and display it, and we do the injecttion of javascript for remote inspection, etc. Edge Inspect doesn't do any rendering, we leave it up to the web components. Mostly what the clients do is manage & remember the connection, handle commands from the Chrome extension, inject javascript, and take screenshots of the page.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Edge Inspect not available for download (mac)

    I've check the system requirements, and as far as I can tell I have what it takes. MBP i7, 8GB RAM, OSX 10.8.2. But Edge Inspect is not available for download/install neither in the creative cloud webpage, or in the application manager. Whyy?

    The issue should now be fixed. The direct link that you should be taken to for download is https://creative.adobe.com/inspect. From there click the Download button. Edge Inspect will not appear as an Install link in the Adobe Application Manager, you need to get it from the website.

  • Using Edge Inspect on Apple Watch for prototyping

    I'm curious if there will come an update for the iOS version of edge inspect to enable support for the apple watch Or is this technically  impossible, because it hasn't have a native browser? At the moment I use edge animate mainly for prototyping and it would be nice to test my apple watch designs on the the apple watch.

    The two networks can talk to each other.
    That port 7682 is open on both.
    These two steps can mean three things:
    Mobile device can reach computer initiating connection to it using TCP port 7682 (mobile device is a TCP client, computer is a TCP server)
    Computer can reach mobile device initiating connection to it using TCP port 7682 (computer is a TCP client, mobile device is a TCP server)
    Both mobile device and computer are TCP server and TCP clients simultaniously
    Based on previous information in this thread I would stake on #1. Am I right?

  • How To: Use Visual Studio, IIS Express, and Adobe Edge Inspect to view local projects

    You CAN view a Visual Studio project with Adobe Inspect. The work around takes a little bit of time.
    This involves using IIS Express to run your Visual Studio project, which is mainly a setting in Visual Studio, a Firewall change, a few command line and IIS Express config change.  It isn't actually all that bad, but will make your life A LOT easier.
    Here are the steps. (Note these are steps I used for Visual Studio 2012 and your project is part of a solution project.  Windows 7 or Windows 8)
    1. If IIS in not turned on, turn it on.How to: Enable Internet Information Services (IIS) - this should install IIS Express as well.
    2. In Visual Studio, find the port that Visual Studio will be using for your project by Running your web project (Debug), and note/write down/save the port number that shows up in the browser when the project launches. (ex.  http://localhost:12345)
    3. Add a NetShare Reservation (process for this will be different for Windows XP)
    Go to your Command Line (CMD) in Windows and in c:\Windows\system32> type in
    netsh http add urlacl url=http://yourIPaddress:yourPortNumber user=everyone
    (ex. netsh add urlacl url=http://12.34.56.78:12345 user=everyone)
    Hit Enter key. You should be a successful add reservation message
    3. Go to your Windows Explorer (File system) and go to c:/Users/YourName/MyDocuments (or Documents)/IISExpress/config/ and open 'applicationhost.config'
    In the 'applicationhost.config' file find your site in the <sites> section.
    Example:
    <sites>
    <site name="WebSite1" id="1" serverAutoStart="true">
                    <application path="/">
                        <virtualDirectory path="/" physicalPath="C:\MyProjects\TestSite" />
                    </application>
                    <bindings>
                        <binding protocol="http" bindingInformation=":12345:localhost" />
                    </bindings>
                </site>
    </sites>
    In this section ADD 2 new lines to the <bindings> section. Note add your own IP address and your own Computer Name
    <binding protocol="http" bindingInformation="*:12345:12.34.56.78" />
    <binding protocol="http" bindingInformation=":12345:MyComputerName" />
    Save the config file.
    4. Open up your Windows Firewall and go to 'Advanced Settings'. Here you want to create an Inbound Rule.
    Right click on Inbound Rule and select New Rule
    - Rule Type select 'Custom'
    - Program leave this
    - Protocol and Ports > Protocol Type select 'TCP' then Local Port select 'Specific Port' and fill in the port number you got from VS.  Leave Remote Port alone.
    - Scope
    There are a few ways of doing this. Typically you would go the the Remote IP address and select 'These IP addresses: and select ADD > select 'Predefined set of computers' and choose Local Subnet.  IF this does not work leave Remote IP addresses > Any IP address option selected instead.
    - Action leave this
    - Profile select Domain and Private
    - Name put IISExpressWeb for the name
    Select 'Finish'
    5. Go to Visual Studio. (Note if you have multiple projects in your solution, choose your start up project. Right click on your project in Solution Explorer in VS and select 'Set as Start Up Project' )
    Right click on your start up project again and you should see an option to 'Use IISExpress'
    In the DEBUG dropdown (from the main menu bar at the top) select 'YourProjectName Properties'. Mine was the last one in the list with a wrench icon next to it.
    This should open an new tab in your project, You should see a left hand list of option and a right hand column of options.
    In the left column select 'Web' and in this tab select Use Local IIS Web server and select 'Use IIS Express' and type in your IP Address and port number (same as before) in the Project Url text box.
    Save.
    NOW, you should be able to run your project in Visual Studio and use Adobe Edge Inspect on your device and view new results in Chrome. You can develop from there.
    If you still can not see it working, please be sure your device is on the same SubNet or Wireless network as your computer.  If you are in a large network but the domains can still see each other, the Firewall Setting detailed above to allow Any IP Address in your Scope section.

    Hi CMosqueda,
    Thank you for taking time to share this information with other users.

  • Is there a limit as to how many devices you can connect with Edge Inspect?

    Is there a limit as to how many mobile devices you can connect with Edge Inspect?
    Also, do we need a dedicated wi fi hub for all these devices? Are there any wi fi limitations with connecting more than 20 devices and connecting to wi-fi?
    Thanks

    The free version of Edge Inspect limits you to connecting to one device concurrently. (You can certainly disconnect from that one and connect to another if you wish, but it's just one at a time.)
    If you purchase an Edge Inspect subscription, or have a paid Creative Cloud membership, then you can connect an unlimited number of devices concurrently. (Note that I have seen up to 35 connected at once.)
    For info on purchasing options, see this blog post: http://blogs.adobe.com/edgeinspect/2012/10/23/how-to-purchase-edge-inspect/
    It does not have to be a decicated wifi router, although it certainly can if that makes sense for you. For example, at my home I have a single wifi router that I always use for my laptops and video streaming devices, with my desktop computer connected to the same router on Ethernet, and I can connect my 5 tablets and 2 mobile phones to Edge Inspect on the same router with no issues.
    My router says it can support up to 250 connections at once (Ethernet + wifi); however, I have nowhere near that many devices so I could not put that to the test. I think a more reasonable limit is around 30; however, that is just based on having to share bandwidth. You might want to check what your router says is its limit.
    Just keep in mind that the more devices you have downloading data, the slower the performance will be.

  • Adobe Edge Inspect App won't launch on MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.5

    Hi there,
    I can't get Edge Inspect to launch on my MacBook Pro. It works fine on my iMac with the same OS.
    We I click on the launcher icon nothing happens (it doesn't even bounce on the dock).
    Any idea what's causing this?
    Thank you,
    Giuseppe.

    Edge Inspect desktop has no UI and only Inspect icon will be visible in the menu bar. Also, you need to be logged in with Adobe ID in the app.

  • Can't get Edge Inspect CC to work

    I am using OSX Mavericks, Chrome 34, and Edge Inspect CC and I can't get the Chrome extension to talk to the (running) Edge Inspect.
    Don't know if it helps in the diagnosis, but I do have Chrome Canary also installed on my system.
    Suggestions?

  • Submit form doesn't work in edge Inspect

    I have a contact form in my web and when i submit a form that doesn't work in edge inspect. Edge Inspect after a short time program stops working unfortunately. Form is not submitting and email also is not send. I have a form and i use AJAX to send form data with email to client.

    To be clear, where are you clicking the send button, in Chrome or on your Galaxy 2? And the application on the phone locks up? For example, you can't click the button in the upper right and see the menu?
    Thanks
    Thanks
    Thanks
    Thanks
    Ok
    Give this a try... open the page up in Chrome and wait for it to show up on your phone. Without clicking the send button, press the button in the upper right corner of the Edge Inspect client on your phone and choose the "Open in Browser" option. That will open a new window in the native browser on your device. When your page shows up there, click the "Send" button and tell us whether it works or not and describe what happens.
    Also, can you zip up the necessary code to repro this problem and send it to me at mrausch (at) adobe (dot) com ?
    Thanks,
