Showing as unavailable in iCal

We have recently migrated to Exchange 2010 and are testing out the integration with it and iCal. We have run across a problem whenever we add any invitees to a meeting it shows them as unavailable. Also for some reason our default work hours are set to 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and changing the work day preferences on your local iCal doesn't change anything. We checked the same function in OWA and Outlook and they show the correct busy/free time.
I saw an earlier post that someone elese had with this same issue with Exchange 2007 and iCal but there was no solution posted.
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This may be a shot in the dark but I saw in another thread that someone else had a problem with syncing until they selected the preference to turn on Time Zone Support in iCal. It's worth a try I suppose.

If you're running Mountain Lion (10.8.3), reminders is now a separate app. Launch reminders from your applications group and you will be able to access File>New Reminder.

It depends on what you mean by "barely one year old". If the iMac is only a couple of days out of warranty, Apple's been known to make exceptions and extend the warranty, though it's by no means guaranteed. If it's several days or more out of warranty, then Apple will fix it, if it's a hardware problem, but the repair won't be free. This is no different now then it would have been with a Mac purchased back in the 80s.
Why the drive failed, if indeed it has, is impossible to say. Could have been a static shock, a weak component that failed when power was applied, or a mechanical fault in one of the tiny parts used in optical drives and hard drives that finally broke.

When you go to the Google Maps app on the iPod does it correctly find your location? The iPod's locations service uses the location of the a nearby wifi router to locate te iPod. However, not all routers are in Apple's database and as of yet nobody here knows of a way to add routers to the database.

So after reading other's threads on this issue, I learned that by turning icloud's calendar sync option off and then on again, it re-sets your calendar and pesky old things go away like magic. Thanks to others on this forum for sharing their expertise! I'm all set now.

Setting shows "bluetooth Unavailable" and greyed out

looking for possible reasons, why iphone shows "bluetooth unavailable". sometimes it jumps to "bluetooth off", sometimes to "bluetooth on" and then unsuccessfully searching other devices. iphone is very slow and touch stream reacts with delay.
Any clue, if this is a hardware or software issue? How to fix?
Reset + restore not successful. iOS 4.2.1
Have not recognized the problem under 4.0 - but not sure, if upgrade is the cause of the issue.

How to show whole year in iCal

iCal is configured to shoe day, week and month but can one get iCal to show a whole year, like a wall calendar. If not then perhaps there is some add on software that will do this?

Aside from the fact that it takes third party software (no longer available) to do this, I don't really see what the need would be. Time, date and month change often enough that the would be necessary to keep up with but the year? Every 365 days?
Besides, you can click the time in the menu bar and it will show you the year.

IPod not showing all Calendars from iCal

I just got a new iPod classic and when I hook it up to my MacBook and sync my calendars from iCal not all of them show up. I have tried syncing all and some selected, but if it didnt show in all, it wont show even checked off. Is this a bug in the system?

Hello Kristen,
Have you double checked the media type of these TV Shows in iTunes? To do so, locate the TV Show, right->click on it and choose "Get Info" from the Shortcut Menu. When the window pops up, head over to the Options tab. There should be an option for *Media Type* with a drop down list next to it. Make sure that is set to "TV Show" and nothing else. Then hit OK when you are finished and sync the updated changes to your iPod.
Another thing to check is the settings you have configured from under the *TV Show* tab for your iPod in iTunes, when you have it plugged in. It may be set to sync all "unplayed" episodes. You will want to change this to something that is more fitting.
I would start with these two possibilities, and then we will go from there if need be.

How do I show events preview in iCal?

I recently purchsed a MacBook Pro w/Retina and am in the process of making the change from Windows to OS X.
On the Windows OS, I had Outlook installed. In the bottom left corner, it had a small preview of this month and the next month, much like iCal, but unlike iCal the dates would be shaded if I had an event or such like scheduled on them. I found that this feature was a great, quick and easy way of seeing an overview of upcoming events.
Is there anyway to get a similar functionality in iCal?
This is the thing I'm talking about:

I had the older version of iphoto and whenever I downloaded photos off of my camera, they would go directly into events.
And they still do
Most likely your camera date is incorrect (correct on the camera - and for photos already imported by selecting the photops and using teh adjust time/date command) or your event sort is incorrect (correct by the view menu ==> sort events)
The photos are showing if I click on "last 12 months" but they are not showing up in Events. How do I get them into events?
Last 12 months is just one of many views of the photos in your library - events are another view - every photo in one view is also in every other view - you are just looking in the wrong place (see above)

iTunes prefs > Store.
Tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
If it's not there. log out then log back in.
Now go to Movies and you should see your purchases with a cloud icon next to the items that are not on your computer..
Click the cloud icon to download the movie.

Google calendar event color tags not showing up in IPhone iCal - any fixes?

I have an iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1.1) and am trying to sync my google calendar to the built in iCal app. The events sync both ways, but the color tags I assign to each event does not sync. It used to bother me that the only way to color code events in google calendar was to create multiple calendars, but it seems as though google calendar has added the ability to change the color for each event so I'm going back to google calendar. For example, my classes are in blue, exams are in pink, meetings are turquoise, etc.
I synced my google calendar to the iPhone iCal (via settings, turned on calendar tab listed under gmail account that I use for my google calendar), and all the events sync correctly (can add events on google calendar or iPhone and it syncs), but the colors do not sync. When I view my iPhone iCal all the events from my google calendar are the same color, even if they have different color tags when viewed online. Also, when I add an event on the iPhone iCal, the event syncs to the google calendar but there is no option to change the color tag for the event and it shows up as the default grey color when viewed online.
Is there a way to fix this? Or is this something that google and apple have not resolved?
I would prefer not to use a third party app, but I might consider it if there is no other fix. Thanks!

Hello lulu and welcome to the Palm forums.
I don't know of a way to make the color codes from iCal sync with the color codes on the Palm Z22. The Missing Sync for Palm OS has more features than Palm Desktop, but I also don't believe it will sync the category color codes.

Calendar app showing wrong date for iCal feed.

Has anyone else noticed that when an iCal feed publishes an event that is after 0000Z, but still on the previous date in local time, it's added to the calendar on the wrong day?
Example: Your phone is being used in Chicago (CST). An ical feed you subscribe to publishes and event for 0300Z on November 5th. That event should then actually be on November 4th at 2100 CST, however, the phone will enter the event with the corrected time of 2100Z, however, won't correct the date which should be on the 4th (CST = GMT -6 hours).

I have my Mac's calendar auto-adjusting to time.apple.com. After coming back from Asia, now my calendar shows that November 11th, 2014 is a Wednesday; it is supposed to be Tuesday!
