Showing grid lines as dashed lines

Dear All,
i am using a waveform chart to plot my data .. i want to insert grid inside my chart .
There are 3 different options for inserting grids in d chart .
is dere any way i can change the style of lines of grids ?? i want to see them as dashed lines rather than a continous line ...
Thanks
Ritesh

Hi,
the solution to it was a bit complicated .. i had to search for examples to get my data on the wavefrom graph...
thing is like dis. i have to store the data of different channels on different clusters and join the clustes using Build Array ...
Now dat i am able to show the data on graph(atleast) its not showing it continously .. the graph is plotting all d data at the starting point, i.e 0 and not moving forward ..
I am posting the Block Diagram as well as the Output that i am getting ..
Regarding Block Diargram - I am reading a text file containing the waveform data.. it has N number of rows.. each row has 4 columns containing data of 4 different channels .
i read the file "line by line" and store the data in 4 diff arrays(b,c,d,e). then i cluster these 4 arrays separately and build array using dese 4 clusters .. and d output of the array is plotted on the graph den..
Pl. have a look at it and see if dere's any solution to it ..
Thanks

  • Line Tool: dashed lines

Can I make a dashed line using the line tool? if not, does Photoshop allow one to make/get a dashed line? How, please.
    Thanks.

    >you can set your brush spacing in the brushes palette and stroke a line (or path) created with the line tool. that's how you do dotted/dashed lines in photoshop.
And you can change the Angle Jitter to "direction" so the dashes follow the direction of the path. Works well with curved lines.
STILL... best is to use Illustrator.

  • Dashed lines in windows

I am occasionally getting odd display artifacts in the application windows. The artifacts typically show up as pink dashed lines. I can scroll the lines out of the displayed pane but they are still there when I scroll back.
Any ideas? Are they an indication of impending failure? My G5 iMac is a Rev. 2 (Ambient Light Sensor) that falls into the last set of serial numbers listed under the extended warranty for the logic board/power supply issues.
    Thanks
    Arne

I ran the TechTool Deluxe application that came with my Apple Care. The RAM test failed. Everything else passed including the video RAM. The Tool then provided a troubleshooting check list I will perform tonight. I will have to boot off of another disc and run the tests again. If I dig out the restore disc for this process, I can also check out the hardware diagnostics.
At least I have my Home directory backed up. It only took a couple of tries. The iMac locked up overnight because the OS crashed. The fans were on full blast and the power light was on steadily. I was able to shut the computer down with the power button since the computer was not responding to the keyboard or mouse.
In any case, the artifacts are still there. And, one fan is starting to sound like a model airplane buzzing around. Oh joy.

  • VSAN link to DR shows as dashed line in Fabric Manager

We have a 9509 at our HQ site and a 9216 at our DR site.
We have a single VSAN configured from HQ to Dr that accries all of the replication traffic to DR.
We recenlty had a situation where the fcip link to DR was down with:
    "2007 Aug 21 06:46:10 lkld-9509-01 %PORT-5-IF_DOWN_TCP_MAX_RETRANSMIT: %$VSAN 50%
$ Interface fcip1 is down(TCP conn. closed - retransmit failure)"
The link has been up fro a week now, but it is showing as a dashed line in Fabric Manager. The connection shows "Up" and all traffic is making it to the VSAN at the DR site.
Before, I could see the link as a solid yellow line when I would look in Fabric Manager.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Thanks,
Everything seems to be stable now, but is it possible there could be an issue with a port configuration?
I have been here for almost 5 months and it happend one time for those hours I mentioned, nothing since.
I have head that this has happened before.
I have heard that these could be an issue:
Buffer credits - not sure what to do there
Interface not configured for the 45Mbps DS3 link we have.
It seems if those were issues, we would see this more often that once every few months.
    Anything I can look for?

  • Dashed line showing up on placed psd in indesign

Please help! I created flyer in indesign and placed some PSD graphics into the indesign file.  However when those files are placed on top of a "dotted" line—after printed a white "dashed" line appears.  (the line does not appear in digital file at all—only in print file, so I had to post a crappy scan, but I think it gets the point across).
    Any insight to this issue?
    Much Thanks!

Okay, another (probably bad) suggestion: Make a new 'rich black' swatch and change all your problem objects to use the new swatch.
This screenshot is using a mix of C=20 M=10 Y=10 K=100 that I threw together for a sample. The left block is the 'rich black' and the right is 100% K only. InDesign displayed both as the same color, but when exported to PDF, the difference was visible (from which the screenshot was captured).
Other mixes I've found referenced elsewhere are:
    C=80 M=80 Y=70 K=90
    C=35 M=45 Y=35 K=100
    C=45 M=35 Y=35 K=100
If you were using an outside vendor, I'd suggest getting in contact with them to find out what their preferred blend is. Otherwise, since you seem ot be doing things in-house, you can make a test page with a variety of mixes to determine which one produces the level of black that you want from your Konica.
If you are using a Mac, you may be able to locate an applescript code on the forums which will allow you to globally change all objects using the [Black] swatch with another swatch in your list.
    YMMV

And Peter responded while I was messing around. Lots of combinations.
Aaannnd.. perhaps I should have read the remainder of the posts instead of jumping into this... ^_~
Hope it all helps get this resolved for you, anyway!

  • Why are my vector lines showing as dashed lines in my artwork?

This is the jpeg generated from my file. What are those dash lines doing there?

    Hi,
It depends which is the "front" device as it were for the ID that you are using and whether the device he sees the iMessages on is actually getting a  sync version.
Lets say he has an iPhone and an a Mac.
To go one stage further we will say he Sends, when starting a conversation, from the iPhone Number on the iPhone and the Apple ID on the Mac. (this not actually important but used to pint out we are talking about two IDs on Two Devices)
When you send to the iPhone Number the iPhone is the receiver and the Mac is the Sync Device.
The reverse is true when you send to the Apple ID as the iPhone becomes the sync device.
Now lets presume you are sending to the iPhone Number but for some reason the iPhone is Off line (not connected to the home Wifi, no Carrier service at home, Powered off as using Messages on the Mac and so on)
In this situation the iPhone is incapable of telling the iMessages servers it has received the iMessages with the pic.
On the other hand the Mac version gets the Sync.
As a Sync it does not reply to the server that it has received it or whether it is read or or not.
The reverse is true if the Mac is shut down and they are iMessaging on their iPhone.
The issue is that in this case "Sync" is only "Display on All devices" and not a linked service that you might get with other messaging services or anything like an IMAP server being used by two computers with email.

  • Draw a continuous dashed line

I suspect the answer is simpler than I expect, but it has been eluding me none the less, so I've been wondering how to draw a continuous dashed line, as per the title. I'm cleaning up a photo I made a while back and would to create a flowing line and set it to be dashed as you can do in Adobe Illustrator, where you could draw a line and edit the line type to be dashed, or dotted, or a bunch of snowflakes or what have you.
I can hear you asking, "why not just use Illustrator?". Well, I do not have it. I used Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 in an art class senior year of high school, but it has been a little while so I'm trying to re-learn the ropes a little bit.

I was able to use Filter - Other - Minimum with a particular set of parameters, followed by a Median filter to smooth the results, to get something not unlike what you showed, but given that I derived the parameters empirically from your very limited image, at exactly the size given, I wouldn't be surprised if the characteristics of this sequence of operations are way off from what you want.
In any case, if you'd like to see this "proof of concept" action to understand what I did, here it is:
    http://Noel.ProDigitalSoftware.com/ForumPosts/BlackFindingAction.zip
Keep in mind this will be VERY sensitive to the thresholds and sizes chosen for the various steps, and is crafted to work at an image with just the resolution you showed above.

  • How do I create a dashed line growing longer?

    Hi all,
I want to create a dashed line that grows longer. I made two keyframes (at frame 1 and frame 15) with dashed lines of different lengths. Motion or Classic Tween just makes the small line move to the right and then turn into the long line immediately at frame 15.
Shape Tween gets me the closest (actually shows a line growing), however, it turns into a solid line in the intermediate steps.
My next idea is to create a mask that slowly reveals more of the line. Is that the best solution?
    Thanks!

yes, use a tweened mask.  that's the easiest solution.

  • Dashed line in Health app?

    Hi,
I tracked a run today using Endomondo that posted the calories burned into Health in iOS8. However, the chart is sowing a dashed line as opposed to a solid line as it has done in the past
Does anyone know what this means? The calories have been shared with all the other connected apps, so I'm not too concerned, I'm just curious!
    Many thanks,

The dashed line corresponds to gaps in the data, spanning points in time where you did not log any activity.  For example, I cycled on Oct. 16 & 17, so the Week view shows a solid line between those adjacent days for which there was recorded activity.  I did not cycle again until Oct. 20, so there is a data point showing that day's activity on the 20th and a dashed line connecting to the previous data point (on the 17th).
This is actually to prevent confusion about the meaning of the lines spanning the points.  The dashed line makes it easier to see that I did not cycle in those intermediate days, while still allowing me to see at-a-glance that my activity on the 20th was less strenuous (since the line slopes downward) than that previous point back on the 17th.

  • Can Flash create dashed line with blunt not rounded dashes ?

    Hi,
    using Flash8
I can select line tool and dashed line in properties and draw a dashed line and get a line of sausages. How do I get a line of dashes without rounded ends to each dash ?
Line option has end caps option with None (gives straight or blunt tip to line, round gives rounded tip .
Draw a line with None and its got blunt ends, select it and choose dashed line option and it gets round ends to the dashes, the end cap option is greyed out !
Are dashed lines with blunt dashes now possible again with CS4, a forum poster also found that CS3 no longer gave blunt dashes ?
    Why do I ask:-
I am trying to bring a map into Flash8 from Illustrator (Illus version 10 as it allows blunt tip lines to remain blunt it was said on the forum)... which has blunt ends to roads and has blunt type dashed lines. The roads remain blunt..GOOD !..but the dashed lines become what looks like a solid line. BAD !
I do a right click - break apart,  then double click one of those now solid lines that should be dashed, and I am able to select a portion of the line, it is no longer a continual line as drawn in Illustrator. Properties shows it as solid line. Flash8 obviously having a problem with supporting Illustrator 10 dashed line then !
Select dashed in properties box and I get a portion of the line as sausage dashes, but working my way along the line doing each bit sees a far from correct dashed line result as sausages dont start stop evenly as each line is a separate entity and ignores the previous line.
Looks like I shall have to try and draw the line as one long line again in flash but unless I can give it blunt dashes when done, there is no point even trying that method, hence my question.
Would the latest Illustrator and Flash versions (CS4) allow blunt type dashed lines to appear in Flash ?
This is crucial for bringing maps into Flash.
    Envirographics

I noticed one problem with my solution.
If you look, very carefully, at the end of the stream, it's flat. Not rounded like it should be. After a bit of trial and error, I tried a different brush:
Note that, in addition to the rounded rectangle (done with the new corner controls in the latest version of Illustrator CC that just came out) and the three circles, there is also a rectangle, with no stroke and no fill, to provide a space at the end of the three dots. Here is the result:

  • Can I change the dashed line between pages in 2up Display mode?

Did anyone ever figure out an answer to this query: Remove dashed page lines in two up mode?
Or did it get fixed or modifiable in a later version?
I'm viewing a pdf in two-up mode and I hate the dashed line Acrobat uses to indicate the gutter line between pages.
I don't want to export as spreads from the indd doc because it ruins pagination.
I wouldn't mind changing it to a solid hairline. the dashes are really distracting.
I don't like Showing Gaps between pages either.
Anyone have a way to modify that dividing line in regular two-up mode?
    Thanks.

Is there a way to change this?
    No.

  • Dashed Line Setting Not Working

I have a graph (I've ungrouped it, it is no longer a graph as far as AI is concerned) that I'm trying to get a dashed line:  it doesn't work.  I'm uploading screenshots to show I'm not completly crazy.

BTW that is a very small segment of a path?
But if thge Dash feature is not relly working and you do not have two strokes applied to one path then perhaps the preferences are corrupt.
    Try this
    1. Quit Illustrator.
2.Go to User/username/Library/Preferences/ Adobe illustrator CS6 Settings and trash the settings folder, the whole folder not just the contents of the folder..
    3. Start Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.

  • Dashed line between pages

Is it possible to avoid the dashed line between pages when "Show Gaps Between Pages" is unchecked? In other words is it possible to have the 2 pages join seamlessly, no gaps, no dashed lines?

"I would like to export the document to PDF using the spreads option, so that the spreads are combined into 1 page.
However, is there a way for the PDF to recognise the page numbers originally specified in InDesign?"
When you combine pages in a spread you make one page in Acrobat. I can't see how you would expect Acrobat to see this as
    two pages.
