Showing no music on IPOD but it says 21 gb used. Help please!

I went to play some music on my 32gb ipod touch today and when I pushed the music button it says there are no songs on my ipod. So I went into setting and it also says there are no songs but then it says there are 7gb empty space left and I know there is over 20gb of music that I put on there. What happened and how do I fix it? The only thing I did differently when I put the last songs on my ipod was that I just took out the cable instead of ejecting it.
I need your help please. I'm going away for the weekend this afternoon and need some tunes in the car.

It sounds like the data on the iPod touch is corrupt. iTunes may have been syncing the iPod when you disconnected.
Try resetting the iPod.

The apps and other content on the iPod did not transdfer with the purchase of the iPod. The lience to use them remains with the original purchaes. You should connect the iPod to your computer and restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and purchase and sync you own media.

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

New White Ipod touch. Went to add music & about half show up on my ipod but cannot be played

Just got the new, most recent white ipod in the mail. Followed directions, plugged into itunes and transferred songs. For some reason, when I unplugged and went to go listen to music, about half of the songs are showing up on my ipod but in a light grey and they cannot be clicked on or listened to...? I tried to re-transfer everything and still no luck. Any ideas what this could be?

This sometimes happens with ios5 (at least from my experience from beta) The sync "finishes", but you must keep the ipod plugged in to get all of the songs.... (you can still use it while it's transferring though).

Purchased songs show up on my ipod but will not play!

I am about ready to drive over my ipod with a car! I have the 80GB ipod and it was working fine until recently. For whatever reason, songs that I had previously (as in months ago) purchased on itunes show up on my ipod, but do not play. All other songs (ones that I downloaded from cd's) show up and play. I have tried everything I can think of but it still won't get them to play! HELP!

iPod does not play content purchased from the iTMS.
If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:
1. Deauthorize the computer.
2. Create a new user in the system.
3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

Trying to sync music onto iPod but iTunes 11 keeps crashing

I am trying to sync my entire iTunes library music onto iPod but iTunes 11 keeps crashing (using Windows 8 laptop)
I have tried to do it manually in little chunk and also tried the auto sync method too.
I have restored my ipod to factory setting 12 times now and retry but just when I think I'm getting somewhere iTunes freezes in the middle of the sync and then tell me it "cannot copy because of unknown error (-50)"
From then on my Ipod refuses to accept any more syncing, it may do one and then it freezes again, iTunes says there is an issue with iPod, so I run a scan fix, it is repaired but then iTunes wants me to "restore to factory settings" again, it's a never ending circle, I get it fixed, iTunes crashes and then I have to fix, restore and start all over again just to have the same thing happen all over again
I have read here and there that there seems to be a bug in iTunes 11 when it comes to syncing.
I don't know what else to do, except revert back to iTunes 10 but I don't know how to do that either.
Anyone else had same issue syncing their library over to their iPod and how I fix it?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Trying to restore ipod but itunes says no internet connection. Uninstalled and re-installed itunes but still have same problem. Trying to restore because I uploaded songs from Yahoo music jukebox to ipod but they won't play. They are listed as "other" and I can not access them to delete or play. Tried to delete through music jukebox but now it say " error reading content" so I figure restoring ipod is the only way to fix problem.

The media collection is on an external drive. And on my older Snow Leopard machine, the newly imported movie also shows up (with artwork) as it should.

Wait - I meant to say that on the older machine the newly imported move shows up correctly using Front Row, not in iTunes.
