Showing only a particular level from a hierarchy on a report

Hi,
I'm creating a crystal report on top of a BW Bex Query.
In that BEx query I have a hierarchy on Profit Center with 6 levels, where the first level is the Area, the second one the Country, the third one is Plant, ...
In my crystal report I only want to see the Areas in a table together with some key figures.
If I use the Profit Center characteristic on the report, I get all values existing in the hierarchy, so not only the Areas, but also the countries, the plants, ...
How can I manage to always see the Areas only?
Lieven

Lync 2010 doesn’t have the feature natively.
With Lync Server 2010, by default, the contacts from federated domains are added as External Contacts.

  • Show only subset of labels from a data series

I'd like to show only a few labels from a given data series.  I saw some work-arounds posted from 2010 (e.g., add a new series with just the items to be labeled; turn off all labels on original data series).  Was wondering if it's possible to deal with each series-label individually now, thereby avoiding having to add extraneous series to my data.
    Thank you.

Thanks, Jerry.  Very curious --- when I hide rows on my original table, those data aren't removed from my chart.  So I built a new chart with new data and hiding rows on this new table does indeed remove those data from the chart.  So something seems to be happening with my original data table.
But this is actually separate from what I was asking about.  I'd like to keep all the columns in my chart and just have a few labeled.  Was seeking a way to do that without adding a "For Labeling Only" column to my table (Excel let's one deal with column labels individually; figured Numbers might be able to do that, too). Here's how the workaround looks:
    Thanks again for responding.

  • How to only display specific members from dissimilar hierarchy levels?

    Hi,
I have a Business Partner that routinely wants to build a report that displays members from dissimilar hierarchy levels. For example, she wants to display member "210_UNASSIGNED EXP/ACC" from level 8 and member "E090_ADVISOR SERVICES" from level 1. When she filters on just those two members, the reports displays as such:
She then must manually expand the "E020_CORPORATE AND EXECUTIVE" member 7 times to see "210_UNASSIGNED EXP/ACC":
Is there anyway to make her life easier and have the report display only the "210_UNASSIGNED EXP/ACC" member and the "E090_ADVISOR SERVICES" member, even though they are from different levels?
    Thanks,
    Michael J Titera
    BI4.0 SP8.3
    SQL Server 2012

    Hello Michael
Displaying information from mixed hierarchy levels without the context of the parent members is a reporting workflow best suited to WebI and CR. The AOLAP content can be exported as an Analysis View and then this becomes a data source for WebI and CR.
Our previous product Voyager used to allow member selection from mixed levels without the context of parent members but it caused a lot of confusion and misinterpretation of the data, which is why we deliberately do not have it in AOLAP.
Worth noting that BI4.1 was a big release for AOLAP with many enhancements. One is "Expand to Level". So instead of having to click 7 times to expand the hierarchy, it now just requires one mouse right-click to do the same thing.

  • To calculate average of a measure for particular level of calendar hierarchy across all years

    Hi All,
Let say Data is available for 10 years: from 2005 to 20015
Calendar Hierarchy: Year -> Quarter -> Month -> Week -> Day
Let say Measure Name is : SalesAmt
Now, I want to create a calculated measure for calculating: Average of SalesAmt for Calendar Hierarchy at particular level (for all the 10 years). Means, if somebody selects, Jan, 2014 it should show Average of all the January’s data (coming from all the 10
years like average of Jan -2000, Jan-2001, Jan-2002......Jan-2015), similarly if somebody selects 1st Quarter, 2012 it should show Average of all the 1st Quarter of all the 10 years (average of 1st quarter 2000, 1st Quarter 2002....1st Quarter 2015).
    Kindly suggest.
    Thanks in advance.

    You should use ParallelPeriod. Ex:
    SELECT ParallelPeriod ([Date].[Calendar].[Calendar Quarter]
       , 3
       , [Date].[Calendar].[Month].[October 2003])
       ON 0
       FROM [Adventure Works

  • Showing only key photo from events within an album using iphoto 11

I'm using iphoto 11 and want to show only the key photos from events in an album. I don't want to see every photo from every event in the album, I only want to view the key photos from each event in the album. When I drag the event into the album every photo from each event is shown in the album.
I do have some events in an album with only the key photo showing but can't get all the events to display this way in the album. Any suggestions?

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • Display a particular node of Hierarchy in the Report.

    Hi , all
I have an urgent requirement that i have to  display only a particular node(5) of Hierarchy in the Bw Report , I have tried different options available in the Hierarchy tab (That is Expand to level 5 , Position of lower node - Above , Value of posted node - Hide ) . But stil it is displaying 5 and then 4 node , but i don't want that 4 node .
Can anybody gine me some useful suggestion .
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Akash,
    - To show only particular nodes of a hierarchy in the Excel sheet:
Step 1: include the base characteristic
Step 2: select the hierarchy (properties of the characteristic) - (display key only)
Step 3: user restrict (from context menu of the characteristic) on the nodes that you want to display.
Step 4: expand to level: 1 (properites of the characteristics)
This should serve the purpose.  I know it is a little late, but it might be helpful in the future

  • Browser shows only 19 items

Anybody having problems with the browser only showing 19 items? Yes, I have more than 19 items. When I disclose a bin that has more items, the browser shows only 19 items starting from the top down. No, scrolling down is not working. Yes, I have expanded the browser to full screen height, the only result being 19 items with a lot of empty browser beneath.
Very frustrating, I can't figure out what the deal is. Have trashed prefs. Have the latest updates. Problem replicates with other projects.
I need to see what's in my browser. I consider this a major bug.

I know this thread is over two months old, but I'm having the same problem.
I have been capturing 63-minute DV tapes in their full form, then breaking them into subclips as an easier way to log and capture (at least for what I'm doing).
I placed 94 markers on the latest tape with the intention of breaking it into 94 subclips, but my browser will only scroll down to the Marker 64. At least it's not 19, but I need to be able to have access to the other 30 markers so I can turn them into subclips. This seems like a bug.
64 isn't some kind of magic number, is it?

  • Hierarchy authorization details show only last level

    Hi,
I am facing on a hierarchy problem displayed on the Bex: The hierarchy has 9 levels, e.g. the organisation structure of the company from level 1 to level 9.
I made from the transaction RSSM :
Authorization from the hierarchy i entered for each level from 1 to 9 :
Type of authorisation : 1 (subtree below node)
    Hierarchy level       : blank
    Validity period       : blank
Node variable default value : blank
I made from the transaction PFCG :
Created a role for the user with the authorization :
Sap Business information warehouse - reporting (RSR)
    value : 8055 (company code)
Unique ID for authorization : level_3
I need to authorize the user to execute a querry of his level (exemple level 3) and all the level below him (to the 9th level)
When the query is generated,(the query is using a variable hierarchy ) I get the lowest level displayed and shows only 2 key figures and values.
    Any ideas ?
    You assistance will be appreciated.

    Hi,
How to get only the last level in Oracle SQL Hierarchy Query?Depending on your requirements:
    WHERE   CONNECT_BY_ISLEAF  = 1
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only), and also post the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
If you can show what you want to do using commonly available tables (such as scott.emp, which contains a hierarchy), then you don't need to post any sample data; just the results and the explanation.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0). This is always important, but especially so with CONNECT BY queries, because every version since Oracle 7 has had significant improvements in this area.

  • Possible to Have ToC Default to Show Only Top Level (collapse sublevels)?

    Howdy!
I'll bet I'm not the only one wishing for this.  Let's say you're using Captivate 4's Table of Contents feature with a longish movie of Cp slides, which is chunked into bite-size sections content-wise.  In the ToC, though, you can't mimic that same organization scheme; at least, the learner would first need to collapse all the ToC folders you've created so they see only the top-level listing.
This can be a critical issue:  keeping the at-first-glance list in the ToC brief enough to be inviting to learners, yet allowing learners to drive which details are currently visible.
A movie's topical hierarchy could be along these lines, for example ...
    Section 1 - National Brands
    What are National Brands?
Why Are They Important to Our Business?
    Working with Nat. Brands
    Practice Your Knowledge
    Section 2 - International Brands
    What are International Brands?
Why Are They Important to Our Business?
    Working with Intl. Brands
    Practice Your Knowledge
You'd like to organize the ToC to show only the section titles (1st level) and to suppress the 2nd-level detail (slide titles) until the learner chooses to expand the folder to see those details.
I've tried things like grouping the slides into sections in the Storyboard view and organizing the slides into sections strictly within the ToC -- both to no avail.
Has anyone solved for this need yet?
I'm all ears, and you'd be doing learners of the world a huge favor.
    Thanks!

    Hi, Jim.
Thanks for being 'on the case' and looking into this so quickly.  Your
findings are encouraging, although my user base is generally working with
    IE 6 and FP8 or 9.
Since the only thing I may influence is getting  IT to help push out FP10,
    I'm hoping it's more of a player- than a browser-version issue.
I'll test things out by Monday and let you know the results.  Wish me luck!

    Dave,
I just tested this on my local web server and it worked fine.  I created a
blank project with 8 slides.  Created my TOC with grouping... 2 slides in
each group.  I turned on self paced learning.  I tried with and without the
widget and it picked up where I left off in either case.  See

I published using FP10 and IE8 to view.  Notice any difference between
    your project and this one?
    Thanks,

  • Modify Chart Legend Data Behaviour to show only lowest level of drill

I have a chart with a legend in OBIEE 11g.
When I click on chart data or legend it drills to the next level of the hierarchy which is what I want.
However the legend show all levels of the hierarchy in the legend data like this:
    "Level 1"."Level 2"."Level 3".
This is very cluttered and redundant as Level 1 & Level 2 are the same for all items.
What I want is that it only shows the lowest level of a hierarchy that has been drilled to eg.
    "Level 3"
Is it possible to do this? I've already tried the user guide, on this forum or on google search.
    Thanks in advance.

Not sure its doable out the box,
You could hack the popchart JS files I guess, John Minkjan's blog describes some changes , in particular on mouse-hover activity but they should show where to start.

  • How to make the report shows only top level steps

    HI,
I use many subsequences in my tests.  I have no interest to see them in the report.  How can I force the report to show only top level steps?
    Thanks
    Rafi

I needed to prevent 'Skipped' steps from appearing in my reports.  One way to do this is to override the SequenceFilePostResultListEntry callback in the model.  You do this by clicking on Edit and then Sequence File Callbacks and then find SequenceFilePostResultListEntry in the list and click the Add button.
Edit your new callback in your sequence file to check for a pre-condition.  In my case I checked for Parameters.Result.Status == "Skipped" since that parameter is set to Skipped, Done, etc. based on the result.
If the condition was true then my only step in the callback was to set Parameters.DiscardResults = True.  The TestStand model will then throw that result away when it processes the report.  You could add a step for every type of data you wish to discard.
A second method that is easier to implement, but time consuming, is to select each step you DON'T want in your report and bring up the Properties for that step.  Under the Run Options tab, deselect the Record Results box.  That will keep the results of that step out of the report, but you have to do this for EVERY step you don't want to have reported.  The first approach I provided acts to filter the results.
If you aren't sure what the Parameters.Result.Status will be, then set a breakpoint after that step is executed and scan the parameters when the sequence is halted there.  You can then detect the actual text used as a result for that step, such as "Done" and can set your pre-condition appropriately.

  • How to derive new attributes from the levels of a hierarchy

    Hello,
I have a hierarchy based on object XYZ where each level has a specific meaning, for example: Continent, Country, Region.
I would like to create new attributes to this object XYZ that would be derived from the hierarchy levels.
    Can anyone provide some help?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi.
If I understand correctly you want to fill an attribute of XYZ with information on where in the hierarchy the particular XYZ-value is placed?
If so, I guess you would want attributes on XYZ for each "thing" you derive from the hierarchy levels, but at any rate, you can look up the level each XYZ value belongs to in the H table so, /bic/Hxyz. Fx value 123 is on level 5 and you get the parent ID as well.
Keep checking the parent ID and which level it is on in order to know when you have reach the next logical "thing" and then read the value of the node and put it as an attribute of XYZ.
    regards
    Jacob
