Showing page footer or showing page no. at every drilled level

Hi Friends,
Tool - Crystal Reports XI R2
I have 5 groups in reports which are perfect in drilling. Now the I am required to show page footer on every drilled level containing a thin line and a Page N of M.
I tried and added line, page no. in group footer but drilled levels are having very few lines, hence dispalyed in the middle of the page. I want to show it at the bottom of the drilled page. Is there any work around for this...
Any suggestions on this are appreciated.

Hi Ashish try this
go to file> report options> check the option "show all headers on drill down" which shows you the headers and footers. If you don't want to shoe the headers then use suppress condition using drilldowngrouplevel=1.

    "Clamp Page Footer" option can be used to remove extra space at the bottom of the report. This option can be used such that  each page  height varies.

    when we selecting pieview and print after entering paramter it's showing error: page header plus page footer too large for the page. error in File.rpt page header or page footer loanger than page. and it's not showing print layout format if i connect another printer it's showing layout designe. and some times it's showing letter formate and if i give print it's taking default lamdscape but we setup defual setup for printer 10*12 inches in particular printer.please guide me how we can solve this issues.

    This is a really hard post to read. See if you can take a bit of time to reword it, but one thing I do understand is that you are getting this error:
    page header plus page footer too large for the page.
    Typically, you can trust that if the error is thrown, it is true. E.g.; this is not one of those errors that says one thing, and means another. I suspect that you have some field(s) in the header(s) that grow, depending on the data. If there is too much data or the data is too long ( a text for example), the error will be thrown. To resolve this, see if placing the field(s) into a group footer / header will help.

  • Page Footer on Cross Tab Reports

    How do I get the page footer to show up on all the pages of the Cross-Tab.  I have a report where the columns spill over to the second page, but nothing from the footer prints on the second page.  It is only printing on the first page.

    I also have a similar problem on cross-tab reports when the rows result in additional pages. 
    If I place the page numbers in the page footer, it only appears on the last page of the report.  If I place the page numbers anywhere else on the report, it doesn't show up at all, on any pages.   Where can I place it so it will print all the pages, regardless of the number of pages that result because of the growing columns or rows?

    BC site search does not show results on search_results.html page.

  • Why is my Page Footer not displaying correctly??

    I am trying to customize a quote report in Tigerpaw and I am having an issue with the page footer. My report is structured as follows:
    Cover Page
    Product List
    Grand Total
    Simple right? So the page footer has the page numbers, printed date, etc and I want it to print onto every page. That is working fine on every page except for the cover page which happens to be the Report Header. There is a blank white space where the page footer is supposed to be but nothing is displaying there page footer has gray background).  What gives? Am I trying to do something I cannot do?

    Hi, 
    If you right-click in the Page Footer margin and go to Section Expert, are there any conditional formatting formulas set?  Any options that have been changed from the default? 
    If you right-click one of the fields in the Page Footer and go to Format.  In the Common tab, does the Suppress option have a formula? 
    The Page Footer should be seen from the Cover Page unless it's been told to suppress somewhere.

    I am designing Crystal report with multiple page footers.Initially I have suppressed all page footer. Each page footer is un suppressed against a specific Test Id (db Field). I have done this with formula for each page footer.
    The problem is when Page footer is suppress it occupy space in report.
    Provide solution plz.

    Can you recreate the entire footer as a formula field?  If so:
    1.  create the formula field using an if-then-else statement to poplulate the field:
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    IF PageNumber = 1
    THEN 'text' + text data + (chr(9) + totext(numeric/date data) + chr(13) + 'text data'  + etc...
    Chr(9) = tab
    Chr(13) = next line
    2.  Place the formula field in the page footer using as little space as possible. 
    3.  Enable the formula field's "Can Grow" property.
    4.  You could try setting the formula fields conditional suppression to PageNumber <> 1.  Not sure if this is necessary, but it can't hurt.
    This may do the trick for you.

  • Page footer absolute position issue - Crstal Reports

    I have a page footer section in the crystal report.
    There are 2 sections Page footer A and Page footer B.
    Here I am displaying Page Footer A in the first page and Page Footer B on all the pages.
    Here the issue is, as I applied a suppress condition on page footer A in order to display only on frist page. This is working fine. But in the second page the page footer B is displayed a bit above the end of page as the page footer A is suppressed.
    Can we set absolute position for page footer B? So that, the page footer B will be displayed at the same way in all the pages as like the first page.

    hmm .. what i would do is
    - create a placeholder column
    - create a field in the header and one in the footer
    - have the footer field reference the summary column
    - have the header field reference the placeholder column
    - create a fromat trigger on the footer field to
    store the value of the footer into the placeholder column
    so when the report is executed and the footer field is formatted, the format trigger stores the current value of the summary in the placeholder. then the pagebreak occures and the header field is formatted .. printing the value.
    there might actually be an easier way, just reference the two fields to the same summary column and in theory, since there is nothing happening between the time when the footer is formatted and the header is formatted, the values should be the same .. however this is a theory and i have not actually tested this. since reports does all kinds of fancy optimization this might have unexpected results, but it's worth a try.

    I could not able to show a scalar value in Page Header/Group Header of the report which is returned from Sub-report. But I am able to display it in both Group Footer and Page Footer.
    I used shared variable in formula filed of both main and sub report and both are placed in the main and sub-report.

    You can only show Shared variables in main report in a location after the subreport has executed.
    If you want to show values in page header or group header you must place subreport in a section above these. This is unlikely to be possible so you will have to live with displaying results in Group/page footer.
    Alternatively you can execute subreport twice, once where subreport is hidden in a section above page/group header and pass summary figure you require and then again where you currently have subreport so you can see details as required.

    Hi ,
    IF you are showing each page based on group or number of rows.
    If you don't have any group then you must create on group based on number of rows as
    Group expression =Ceiling((RowNumber(Nothing)) /5)
    this will create group of 5 Rows, you can increase it.
    After adding Group Remove Group Column not Group.
    Just add Group footer and merge all the columns in the group footer, add the Text in the group footer.

    I am having the requirement to capture the error from a PL/SQL package and show the error in OAF page with meaning full error.
    Assume i am having the create and review page.
    The create page having the employeeLOV input field (non mandatory field).
    (i have the package which will check whether this LOV value is filled or not.. if not given then the user should be able to see a "understandable message.)
    to achieve the above scenario am following the below steps
    In my CO,
    with in try catch i called the am method which will invoke the XX_CUSTOM_PKG.
    so, from the catch it is giving me the message as shown below.

    for Date field as below.
    Review Error: oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Exception in insertData:java.sql.SQLException: ORA-20500: Date field should always greater than sysdate. ORA-06512: at "APPS.CUSTOM_UTIL_PKG", line 702 ORA-06512: at line 1
    But i need to display only the message "Employee field is required" or "Date field should always greater than sysdate" in the screen.. as information.
    Could you please help me to achive the above message? any sample code will be great help for me.

    - I have a report
    - this report can be filtered with a selection-list
    - the selection list is based on dynamic LOV and has a null-value
    - I added the code of the report the following, to filter the report after choosing a value of the selection list:

    This works very well.
    But my problem is: When the user logs out and the next time, he logs in, the selection list shows " --- show all values --- " (my null-display-value) and the report is empty "no values found".
    ---> I want to show the first time, the page is selected ALL the values of the report. (this is now only possile if I press the button which belongs to the selection list)
    I hope, somebody understands my problem.

    The first time it's probably NULL.
    So what you can do in your where: (instr(type, decode(NVL(:P8_FILTER_type,'%null%'), '%null%',type,:P8_FILTER_type)) > 0)
    Off topic: I also wonder if that where clause can't be simpler? Do you rely need the instr?
