  • Colour coding slices of pie chart

    Hi,
    I'm generating a pie chart from a list of traffic light colours (red, amber, green) and would like to colour the pie slices to match the colour reported i.e. the red segment should be red etc.
    I've seen an example here:
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:32
    which I have got to work but this only works if all of the colours are returned i.e. each of the status indicators have a value greater than zero. If any of the status indicator values have zero occurences then the coulours get mismatched. I assume this is because the slices are coloured in order of display. I tried to correct this by forcing each status to be selected even if the occurence was zero but this seems to give me bizarre results with the pie chart displaying the top portion in the wrong place.
    Has anyone got any ideas that might help resolve my problem?
    Cheers,
    Andy

    Hello,
    What you can do is set a hidden page item to the proper css using some plsql to output the css you want based off of a query.
    And then use that item in the custom css area as an Item substitution.
    Example
    set page item value SVG_CSS using some plsql logic to
    #data1 ,rect.data1 ,path.data1{fill:#f00;}
    #data2 ,rect.data2 ,path.data2{fill:#0f0;}
    #data3 ,rect.data3 ,path.data3{fill:#00f;}
    and in the Custom CSS attribute use &SVG_CSS.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Apparently the problem is that I enterd in the data vertically instead of horizontally. So, nevermind.

  • Can't group slices in pie chart

    I used to be able to shift click on a number of pie slices and group them and then drag (explode) the group from the rest of the pie. Doesn't seem to work now. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for the confirmation. It was such a cool function! Disappointed to see it gone. I will post feedback. Unfortunately it seems that if the file gets opened in the '13 version it won't let you go back. When I try it says I ned a later version of Numbers!
    Thanks for the help!

  • Is there any way to scroll pie chart labels

    is there a way to have a scroll bar for the pie chart key
    Many thanks

    Hi,
    I haven't found how to make legend scrollable but I can suggest to put list box with color alerts. The listbox will  show each series of pie chart and color alerts will indicate the color of each slice.
    So, simply instead of using pie which can't support scrolling in the legend put listbox which supports it.
    In addition, I believe you have already been asked for showing values on each slice of piechart. On this week, service pack 3 have been released. By using this service pack, you can start to show values on the charts.

  • Pie Chart slice breakup

    Hi Experts,
    I am having a requirement in OBIEE 11g of showing data as Percentage in a Pie Chart,the chart will be be having two slices(SLICE 1, SLICE 2).
    And the SLICE 1 breakdown needs to be displayed as STACKED BAR CHART.the bar chart should also show data as percentage.
    I am using a common measure for both the charts, in PIE CHART i have shown the measure count as Percentage,But in Staked bar chart i am not able to show the data in percentage.
    A SLICECODE column i am using for the SLICE 1 and SLICE 2 breakup in the PIE CHART, and in the BAR CHART i am showing only SLICE 1 data by placing the SLICECODE column in the Section, and set the "Maximum number of section slider values" as 1 in the section properties
    .Plz suggest me how to show the data as percentage in the bar chart

  • Mouse Over Value in Pie Chart

    I have two questions -
    1. How do i restrict the no. of decimals in the Mouse Over values for Percentage in a Pie Chart ? The numeric values i can control but the percentage (which the system calculates) seems to be set at default two decimal places.
    2. While displaying the labels even though i am using the ouside end, inside end etc options - i can't seem to control the overlapping of a few labels. Offsetting is something that i need to do by hit and trial. too slow. and not all need to be offsetted. Can i selectively offset for a data point ?
    Please help....Cheers...

    Hi:
       For question1, do you mean the "Data Label->Percentage" right? I think the "Mouse-Over Values" could be set decimal places easily from  "Appearance->Text->Mouse-Over Values", but for "Data Label->Percentage" there is no direct way to show its decimal places. You can use "Label" component to build your percentage you like manually.
      For question2, if all position setting could not fit your need, you can also use label component to build your custom Data Labels.

  • "Pie chart in pivot view  showing only the first column's results" in obiee

    Hi,
    In my pivot view(pie chart view+pivottable),i'm getting only the first column's result in pie chart..
    I have added a column named *'A*' in rows and '*moneyspent*' in measuresfield and the '*period*' in the columnsfield in the pivot view.I'm calculating the sum of
    the rows and columns..
    I'm not getting the sum valueof moneyspent in the pie chart..instead i'm getting only the first column of period in the pivot table in the pie chart.
    can anyone tell how can i get the sum value of pivot table in pie chart?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Prash,
    let me try to give you an example based on the paint sample:
    Use Markets.Region, Products.Brand, 'Sales Measures'.Units
    choose a pivot view to display the result: region goes into the rows-section, Brand goes into the columns-section and Units into the measures-section
    In the columns-section add a total using the 'add total' at 'Measure Labels' level
    the result is a total column on the right side of the pivot.
    looking like this:
    Units
    Brands
    Region Enterprise Magicolor Mccloskey Valspar Units Total
    Central 1032.....
    Eastern 1485......
    Southern 824.....
    Western 580
    What I am looking for is a new column 'Units Total pct'.
    If I duplicate the measure to show the values in percent, I'll get a second column per Brand (showing the absolute and percentage values) - that's what I don't want
    Regards

  • To collect small slices into a secondary, callout pie chart in SSRS 2005

    Hi Guys,
    There exists a property in pie chart in SSRS-2008 which can consolidate the small slices on pie chart. But I am unable to find the same property in SSRS-2005.
    Is this property only available in SSRS-2008 ? If yes how can we achieve the same functionality in SSRS-2005 Pie Chart ?

    Hello,
    Based on my research, the CollectedStyle property that collect small slices into one signal slice or a secondary, callout pie chart is available from Reporting Services 2008. So it is not supported in Reporting Services 2005.
    For example, you are using the query below to return the SECTION and DIVISION fields as the chart fields: SELECT SECTION , DIVISION FROM TEMP, and you want to collect small slice COUNT(DIVISION) smaller than 5 as the callout pie chart. To work around this
    issue, we can create two charts on the surface, one as the big and collected slices chart, another one as the secondary, callout pie chart. For more details, please refer to the following steps:
    We can use the query with some conditions like below to return the fields for the main chart:
    SELECT CASE
       WHEN COUNT(DIVISION) <= 5 THEN 'Other'
       WHEN COUNT(DIVISION) >5 THEN SECTION
       END  AS SECTION, COUNT(DIVISION) AS DIVISION
     FROM TEMP
    GROUP BY SECTION, DIVISION
    We can use the query like below to return the fields for the callout pie chart:
    SELECT CASE
          WHEN COUNT(DIVISION) <= 5 THEN SECTION
       END  AS SECTION, CASE
          WHEN COUNT(DIVISION) <=5 THEN COUNT( DIVISION)
       END  AS DIVISION
     FROM TEMP
    GROUP BY SECTION, DIVISION

    i was just thinking (yes, you should be afraid - smile)
    it would make life much easier if there was a link in the forum message toolbar that linked to the submit idea form in the idea place and included the link for the message thread from here at the bottom of the request. that way the developers could also see what other people think about the issue. what do you think?

  • Pie chart in combintion with a Slider control in Dashboards 4.0

    Hi,
    Following the my requirement for creating a dashboard.
    1) i have to display employee count for different regions in a pie char for a particular month.
    2) This month needs to be selected from a slider control(Horizontal).
    3) The slider control needs to show Month and year (MON-YYYY format) for the last 13 months.6 months above the slider and 7 months below the slider.
    4) So when a user selects a particular month by dragging to the particular month in slider, then the pie chart should display employee count for the selected month.
    5) And Also the slider control by default should show last month employee count in pie chart when the dashboard is opened every time.
    So Any body knows how to implement this requirement please send me the solution in a step by step approch.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Nanda Kishore.

    Hi,
    Set up your data like this
    For the months we just use 0 for the selected month and we mark our min & max.
    (I just took a few months, just as test, in real, you have to have all your months, off course)
    Link the slider component, data to B2, min to B3 and max to B7
    Create combobox, link labels to cell B3:B7
    setup of data insertion, see screenshot below. (destination: j4:J7)
    for behaviour column do as follows...
    Your pie chart component
    results in
    now you have to put some makup on your dashboard, (hide the combobox - hide the values -6,0and 7), create some textcomponents to show the correct months (create a key row (-6 >0>7) and a month-text row), you can use vlookup or via a combobox to fetch the correct month-text
    Have fun with it

  • Add Custom Color to pie-chart

    I have requirement to add specific color to each element in pie-chart.
    Below is my code for pie-chart with static json.
    Instead of the default colors given by the viz charts, I want to have red, green, orange and blue color in the pie-chart.
    Has someone changed the colors successfully?
    var oModel = new sap.ui.model.json.JSONModel({
         businessData : [
                   {Country :"Canada",revenue:2410.87, color: "red"},
                    {Country :"China",revenue:638.29, color: "green"},
                    {Country :"France",revenue:487.66, color: "orange"},
                    {Country :"Germany",revenue:170.23, color: "blue"}
    var oDataset = new sap.viz.ui5.data.FlattenedDataset({
             dimensions : [ {axis : 1, name : 'Country',  value : "{Country}" } ],
             measures : [ { name : 'Revenue',  value : '{revenue}' } ],
             data : { path : "/businessData" }
    var oBarChart = new sap.viz.ui5.Pie({
              width : "80%", height : "400px",
              plotArea : {
                       'colorPalette' : d3.scale.category20().range()
               title : { visible : true, text : 'Revenue By Country' },
               dataset : oDataset
    oBarChart.setModel(oModel);
    oBarChart.placeAt("sample1");
    Thanks,
    Shashi

    After lot of permutation and combination, I figured it out how to change the color.
    Changing colorPalette to 'colorPalette' : ['#00B050','#CCFF66','#FF0000','#FFC300'], it worked
    var oBarChart = new sap.viz.ui5.Pie({
              width : "80%", height : "400px",
              plotArea : {
                       'colorPalette' : ['#00B050','#CCFF66','#FF0000','#FFC300']
               title : { visible : true, text : 'Revenue By Country' },
               dataset : oDataset

  • Using negative percentages in Pie Charts

    I am having a devil of a time creating a visual pie chart based on the data I am getting from my spreadsheet.
    Here is what I am trying to do:
    I want to see a visual representation of how many calories I have left to consume before I reach my goal for the day. I have created a spreadsheet that tracks daily caloric intake and gives me a total value. This is a numerical value, like 1600 to 2300. I then have a "goal" caloric value, which remains unchanged. This value is 1800.
    The pie chart sees these numbers as positives, so when I put them in you can imagine the result would be close to 50% for both sections of the chart. Obviously, I am inputting garbage values that the pie chart is interpreting accurately.
    The next logical step I thought of was to take the "goal" caloric value and subtract the actual "caloric intake" value - this way I come up with a balance of the two - positive or negative. I then used this newly created balance value as "calories remaining" and compared it to "caloric intake."
    This seems to give me accurate results, except when I get a negative number in calories remaining. For some odd reason, the pie chart sees this negative number as a positive!?!? For example, if I have a -400 calories remaining compared to 2200 consumed, the pie chart would see this as 400 to 2200.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks in advance!

    You have the option, in the Chart Inspector, to format the labels any way you like. You don't have to use Percentage. In fact, you can add text to your labels, like this:
