EM Packs with Oracle Standard Edition

Hi,
1) Enterprise Manager Packs like Diagnostic, Tuning, Change and Configuration Management Pack can be licensed only with Oracle Enteprise Edition (according to sales people)
2) I can manage Oracle EE and SE databases with Grid Control 10g (from technical perspective)
3) With Database Control or Grid Control i can use the EM packs features with EE and SE (from technical perspective)
Questions:
1) Does anybody know what is the way to license EM packs to use with Oracle SE?
2) For example if i have one Oracle EE and 3 Oracle SE in my shop: Does anybody know if i can license EM packs with my Oracle EE and use them with my 3 Oracle SE?
I know that they are sales questions but maybe someone has an answer.

You are right these are sales questions and I'm not a sales representative, so I can't give you an official and legally binding answer.
1) Technically spoken (you are again right) in many cases it's possible to use much more features than licensed.
But If you have SE and you want to use the EM management packs you have to contact your Oracle sales person to buy the proper licences.You do this in the same manner as you would do for any basic software.
2) If you have an 'out-of-the-box' licence agreement this is not possible, you cannot mix EE and SE licences. But talk to your sales representative, Oracle has more different licence flavours than one can imagine. I think it's possible to reach an agreement,which fits your needs.

Problems while uploading Task List - Service Pack with LSMW

We are trying to upload General Maintenance Task List using LSMW. We are using Standard Batch/Direct Input method with Object 0490.
We need to upload task list header, operations, maintenance pack, component and service pack for operations.
We have created separate files containing data for different structures and they are linked using Group, group counter and operation number according below

We have multiple operations per task list and multiple services per operation. The service pack is required only for a specific control key - PM03. As per the configuration this screen (PROGRAM - SPLMLSP, Screen Number - 0200) is accessible only when the value PM03 is entered in the operation. We are able to upload all other details except service pack details. We have tried using structure IBIPBDCD for the same.
While uploading the task list in foreground, when control key is entered as PM03 in an operation, service pack screen is displayed with error u201CNo batch input data for screen SAPLMLSP 0200u201D. The data provided in structure IBIPBDCD does not get processed at this time.
On exiting the screen using back button, the data in IBIPBDCD structure is passed incorrectly to fields in screen 3400 (SAPLCPDI)
Are we doing something incorrect? Is there a way to use this standard functionality to upload task lists with service packs?

Hi,
When loading the tasklists you need to define a source structure as per the IBIP structure. You have different levels for example level 1 - header then below that level 2 - Operations, Header Long text then below that you have level 3 - Operation Long text, Operation Package assignments, operation component allocation.
For each of these levels you need an identifier that links then together. In your source file specify identifier 1 for header, Identifier 1 and Identifier 2 for operations, identifier 1 identifier 2 and identifier 3 for packages. This way the system can create the correct structure when it reads the data from the text file.
The identifiers are numeric and will dissapear once the files are loaded. specify then in the source structure as 2 characters and remember to set the xcel file up to have a 2 character field.
For the header file each line will be a new identifier 1,2,3,etc.
The operations are assigned to the header and have 2 identifiers. The first corresponds to the header identifier the next is a sequential number stating at 1 and incrementing for each line e.g Header 1 op 1, header 1 op 2, header 2 op 3, header 2 op 4, header 2 op 5 (this would be 2 header records. The first with 2 operations on it the second with 3 operations)
The package is assigned to the operation and as such needs to have a third identifier. Header (identifier 1), Operation (identifier 2), Package (identifier 3) Example Header 1 op 1 pack 1, header 1 op 2 pack 2, header 2 op 3 pack 3, header 2 op 4 pack 4, header 2 op 5 pack 5
I have a loading file for each of the items i.e. Header file, Operation file, maintenance package file. This is then assigned to the respective source structure.

Can I use InDesign Ver 3.0 and the PM plug in pack with Vista?

I am a long time Pagemaker user and am still using PM6.5 I needed a new computer and of course, it is the Vista OS. I have an original version of InDesign CS (Ver 3.0) with the Pagemaker plug in pack. I never learned to use it cause I was so used to 6.5. Anyway, I installed the InDesign on my new Vista computer but it won't install the PageMaker plug in pack. Says that the OS doesn't support the installation. Can anybody tell me if there is a fix for this or how I can get this to work. InDesign seems to hard and I have thousands of old PM6.5 files I need to use. Thanks!

OK well im using vista 64 bit ...and everything the so called community experts say means i should not be able to install this Adobe indesigne CS Page Maker edition....and its Page maker Plug-In pack
But I did with little complication.

and i right Click Setup
Select properties
now select second tab at tob COMPATIBILITY
check run this program in compatibility mode for:
then make sure drop down says Windows XP SP2
then hit ok
then and i right Click Setup And select run as adminstrator
hit allow if it prompts you and go thru the normal setup like you would with XP had no issues here works great........

IDoc packing with PI 7.1 EHP1

how does IDoc packing (EHP1) work within a IDoc sender channel? Has anybody already tried it? Can I simply recieve "collected" IDoc from ECC (e.g. invoic IDocs) which are not splitted by IDoc adapter? So that I do not have to use a collect BPM any more?

Yes, you do have to create an IDOC sender channel. The IDOC packaging option in the CC distinguishs a standard idoc channel from idoc channel with packaging.

Replace unsealed management pack with sealed

Hi,
Reaching out for some advise. We have some business services imported from SCOM DA:s via an unsealed management pack and would need (for dwh/reporting purpuses) to seal this management pack so that data is correctly transfered to DWH.
Is there any way to seal the management pack and import it without removing the unsealed management pack? If we export the unsealed mp - seal it - remove unsealed mp from SCSM - import the sealed MP - we loose all information about the business services.
Any suggestions?

You cannot replace the unsealed MP with sealed one. What you can try is to export/import operations using csv files.

Is it mandatory to purchase the $29.97/month data pack with a new smartphone?

I'm wondering, if I'm buying a smartphone (this one is a 3G smartphone) and don't want to use the internet or email on it for the first several months, can I just buy the $29.97/month data package at a later date in order to save money now?   Or am I forced to buy the data package now with the phone in order to get the discount price listed for the phone?
I'm wondering because it says "data plan required" next to the phone.   But what if you don't want internet or email right away?

you must get the data pack.
if you dont want it, dont get teh phone
if you buy the phone on ebay or someplace else, verizon will add the datapack when you activate the phone

Remove SCSM Management Pack with dependencies

I's trying to delete a couple of MP's from Service Manager 2012 R2 that I no longer need. They all show that the MP "Service Manager Configuration Management Configuration Library" is dependent on them.
The MP is unsealed but is an MPB. How do I remove the dependency from an MPB?

You've stumbled into a tricky situation. (Sorry, Thomas, I'm stepping on your toes yet again! ;) )
MPBs are basically "zip files" that contain an XML management pack and any resources (dlls, images, etc) that are needed for that management pack.
You can export the XML MP, but you don't get the resources. You can export the MPB, but it's not easy to extract the resources and XML.
But it can be done (I had to do it last week and it was annoying..if there's a better way to do it, I sure would love to know what it is.)
There's a second option that I'll describe in a bit, but it's still pretty annoying. There's also a third option that, if you need resources (images) from an SCSM MP, is even easier.
Edit: Go with option 3 if you're modifying an out-of-the-box MP and you have the authoring tool installed. I had to do option 1 for another MP and didn't have its resources anywhere else. Since you're modifying an SCSM MP, I don't think you'll
have to worry about all the option 1 stuff at all..but I'm leaving it here in case anyone's interested.
Option 1) Extract the MP and resources from the MPB. Modify the MP. Re-bundled the MP with its resources. Import that new MPB.

That's only half the story, though. The last sentence of that article describes using the GetStreams() method of the ManagementPacks property. Once you use that, all you have is a big list of Streams. You need to write some powershell to actually convert
those streams into files. I don't even want to show you the powershell I used because it only worked for a very specific set of resources that I knew existed in the management pack I was trying to modify. It would not work for any other management pack
or any other resource. But, Google can show you plenty of examples on how to convert a stream to a file using powershell (I found an example on StackOverflow that I adapted

After all that, you'll have your resources. Now you can export the MP from Service Manager as just an XML file. Make your changes to it. Use New-MPBBundle.ps1

Option 2) Remove unnecessary references using C# (Maybe powershell?)
Using the SDK, retrieve your MP. Remove the reference. "AcceptChanges()". Done.

Option 3) If the MP you want to modify is an out-of-the-box SCSM MP bundle, get the resources from your authoring tool installation..they're all in there. (the png images, not the DLLs)
Then you can just export the MP XML, modify it, then re-bundle it with new-mpbfile.ps1 and re-import it into service manager.
All of these options of course require that _nothing_ in the management pack actually uses that alias/reference you want to remove. So if you still have a view that references that MP, you won't be able to remove the reference. Option 2 would be more
annoying if the reference you want to remove is still being used..you'd have to use the console to remove the views, or templates, or whatever else might be referencing it.
Option 2 gives me an idea for a quick little utility I could write.. "remove unused references from all unsealed MPs"..maybe I'll do that this weekend :)

Multiple packing is femiliar with single level packing but here more that one packing materials will be involved.
I will explain with your example Colour TeleVision.
Packing materials are :- Carton box,Pallet and container.
Step 1.You create material masters for Colour Tele Vision,Carton Box,Pallet and Container.
Step 2.You do the packing related settings to the carton box,Pallet and container in the IMG path is
SPRO>IMG>Logistics execution>Shipping>Packing
-->Define Packaging Material Type
-->Define Material Group for Packaging Materials
-->Define Allowed Packaging Materials
Step 3.Assign the packing material type in the respective masters.
1.Assign carton Box packing material type to Tele Vision master >Basic data 1>Under packing material data.
2.Assign Pallet packing material type to Carton Box master >Basic data 1>Under packing material data.
3.Assign Container packing material type to Pallet master >Basic data 1>Under packing material data.
Now you create delivery for the colour television in the delivery you can able to pack the TV in to carton boxes then in to Pallets then in to Container.This called multilevel packing.

we have different orders for a customer with different payment condition.
Pick and pack joins the two orders into one single delivery, the result is an invoice with wrong payment condition applied.
Is there any way to generate two delivery documents as it happen when shipping address is different?

Hi Stefano,
within the P&P it is not possible to distinguish between the payment terms of the sales order. The only way to guarantee that a separate delivery is automatically created for a particular sales order is to modify the ship-to address. You might consider this as a workaround.
Alternatively, you could use the 'Priority' to indicate a non-standard payment term & thus alert the P&P operator. This would however depend on the judgement of the operator to execute.

E90 problem installing foreign language pack with ...

Hi everyone, I am unable to install the language pack which needed for the billingual dictionary to function with, my E90 already have 2 foreign languages including English.
Do I need to remove one of the other language that came with the device because it exceeds 3 or a 4th can also exist? Has anyone done this before or can offer some advice? thanks.

The pre-installed dictionary you are refering to is the simplified chinese dictionary.
I have tried looking for it in the entire nokia website and cant seem to find it anymore, however i found some in the download option on the phone
Its under the Download > Fun & Activity > MOT dictionary > there are a few languages for you to choose from.
However the files on the download may vary from country to country.
You may also try getting it from www.mosh.nokia.com

ComponentWorks Plus Pack with 3d Graph OCX

Hi all,
Does anyone remember the ComponentWorks Plus Pack? The one with the 3D graph control?
Well, we've been using this is our main data acquisition application for a few years now. Recently I was forced to upgrade my PC and while setting up my app dev environment I realised that I no longer had the installer for the PlusPack (called cwpluspk.exe).
No problem, I thought, I'll contact the nice folks at NI. Hah! They appear to by uninterested, and keep saying I should upgrade to MeasurementStudio - something that I cannot do since I have a several-thousand line application depending on ComponentWorks.
So, does anyone out there have a copy of the PlusPack installer that they could email me? I find it odd that I h
ave to be asking this since you'd have thought that NI would be happy to supply this - it was a free add-on!

as I said in my e-mail, the cwpluspk.exe is not on our servers anymore since the cwgraph3D and the datasocket components were wrapped up into Measurement Studio.
This was NOT a suggestion to upgrade. Simply the reason it had dissappeared from our servers, and hence the reason I couldn't send it to you.
I searched our servers in the UK, and the servers at our headquarters in Austin (the search took over 5 hours). I checked our CD packs in the office, and asked if our sales force had any old CDs.
Unfortunately I was completely unable to find the requested file.
I hope you understand that I did as much as I possibly could, and did not advise you to upgrade at any point.
It is not technical supports policy to blindly suggest upgrading to the
latest version of anything, since we deal with many companies out there that have to maintain their software for upwards of 15 years.
Hopefully some kind soul out there on the discussion forums will have a backup of the cwpluspk.exe file that they could attach to this thread, and then I can put it onto our servers in case anyone else requires it.

Showtime Anytime Not Working with Uverse

I just tried setting up Showtime Anytime through my Xbox 360. It gave me the activation code and the website to sign up on ShowtimeAnytime. But when I choose Uverse in the drop down menu, it says "I don't have Showtime Anytime with my account', which I do. And the odd thing is, I'm not even logged in. It doesn't even give me the option to log in. I tried clicking other tv providers and every single one of them offered a log in screen, but Uverse didn't and just kept reloading the same page that said Showtime is not on my account and doen't give me the option to type in my login information. Is this a problem for others and how can they fix this?

I been trying to watch Showtime Anytime on all the following devices: Apple TV 3rd generation, Apple iPad Air 2, iPad 2, iPad mini 1, Nexus 7 2nd, mac mini, and Window 7 PC with no luck.
History Summary Quickly:
U300 Option, don't have HBO
ATT customer support no help for ~2 days, trying to blame the Showtime Anytime app, my home connection, ect...
Had Sean Ford from ATT Tech arrive today and we think norrow it down to my to my account causing the problem for some reason???
We verifyied that using my information none of the following apple apps would work using my correct information ***@att.net from AT&T: Showtime Anytime, Watch ABC Family, Watch ABC, or ESPN, but using (Sean) his U300 account info and password with Showtime Anytime and ESPN he was able to log in, with out getting stuck at the Log In screen (Light grey sceen).
He spent over 3 hrs with AT&T higher end techical support texting back and forth. They reseted, tried multiple things, deleting the apps, reinstalling, reseted modem, upgraded to a little higher band width, tried logging in from AT&T tech support site using my information all NO GO!
So now it getting transfer to the next level of support and hopefully they could figure out the problems.
From reading here I understand I'm not the only having issues with AT & T service on moble devices.
I'm so glad that Sean had the same U300 subscription and proved that my account is causing the problems and not Showtime Anytime, ESPN, Family ABC, ect.. Also that he arrive today, just think of the nightmare I would have gone through on the AT&T phone line with people must less experience then Sean.
