Shtting down OMS host

We need to shutdown the host running OMS and repository. Do i need to also stop the agents on all target hosts or can they stay up? I assume uploads will fail, but as long as they reconnect after OMS restart we should be OK.

I have not tried this but wanted to get some input if i can do it etall. I have two different OMS servers. I'm planning to install additional agent on each OMS and monitor other OMS---meaning...
OMS1 - has its own agent OMA1
OMS2 - has its own agent OMA2.
Now i want to install additional OMA on OMS1 that is target of OMS2 and install additional OMA on OMS2 that is the target for OMS1
I want to do this so OMS1 agent is monitored by OMS2 and vice versa..for addtional monitoring.
Can this be done or will there be any conflict between the two OMAs being on the same OMS?

What you are asking about is standard procedure whenever there are multiple OMS hosts.
Just make sure you come up with a naming convention for the OMA homes so you know which is which.

Oms host ip addr change

Our OMS host ipaddress may change within the next two months. What EM configuration files do I need to update to reflect the new ip? Is this currently supported or do I have to deinstall and reinstall the OMS again?

Dont understand what i should put down for host name for creating an email account?

Do you have your email account set up on your computer e.g. on Outlook on a PC or Mail on a Mac ? If you have then you should be able to sync the settings from that to your iPad via the Info tab when connected to your computer's iTunes. Or you could just look at the settings for the account on your computer's email program and copy them over to the iPad manually.
The incoming and outgoing server names are the servers that your email provider uses for your account to recieve (incoming) and send (outgoing) emails. A lot of accounts should be covered by the options that are listed on the 'Add Account' screen - for my Yahoo based accounts I just chose Yahoo! and the settings were set for me. If you have an account that isn't covered by those types then you could try logging into your account via a browser and see if they have any help for what settings you need to use. Different account providers have different settings, so if your can't find anything on your provider's site if you say on here who your provider is there might be somebody else here who has the same provider and can tell you what settings to use.

Migrate 12c OMS to new host

I need to migrate existing 12c OMS host only from smaller resource host to large resource host with the same repository database. From all the docs I have understood to follow below steps:
1.Shutdown OMS on existing host
2.Install OMS on new host with connection details to the same repository db
3.Migrate all agents to point to new OMS by modifying the <AGENT_HOME>/sysman/emd.properties file
If anybody has performed similar OMS migration please let me know if this is the right approach or I am missing any steps?

I tried to explore the "monitoring credentials" option but it seems to be something different but not sure I went to the Weblogic console where it has the option of lock&edit and change the admin server host. Do you know am I at the right place?

The agent can not upload the xml file in the repository of the OMS

I install an agent 10.2.0.4 HP-UX v.11.23, 64 bit, which has an Oracle database v.10.2.0.4.
The OMS identified a single server, but no database.
I uninstall the agent and remove the server from the OEM (html).
I install agent again with the patch 6409645.
Configure a security key to the agent (emctl secure agent).
However, it generates a file error emagent.trc, when i start the agent:

DLSw problem whith two connection to the host

Hello every one,
My name's Mostafa CHAKIR,I am a technical ingeneer in the CBI Networks Morocco.
We have a dual connection to a IBM Host via two 7206 routers called CPA1 and CPA2 in the central site.
In the remote site we have a 2610 routers connected with Public Frame-Relay, and anohter link with ISDN as backup.
Two peers dlsw from the remote site are configured, the first with CPA2 and its backup with CPA1 ( as you will see in the configuration).
when the link go down (FR), the peers stay in stat connected in both site until there is a SNA trafic, and the ddr is made from the remote site.
The problem is when the two link go down, the Host always see that the remote site is connected, the router CPA2 don't breack the circuit, and when the ISDN link come UP first, it open a circuit with a CPA1 even if the CPA2 is active, the HOST don't accept the second circuit cause it says that there is another circuit opened in the CPA2 with the same IDNum IDBlock. I tried to resolve that with the "dlsw timer sna-cahe-timeout" command but it have no effect.
i search some solution to this problem.

If i remove the keepalive 0 from the configuration of the remote site's router, the ddr will be made immediately after the primary link goes down (FR), it will stay active all time, because the dlsw is the intersting trafic for the ddr :access-

Encounter another error when adding host target in EM 12c

Hi, all
After installing EM 12c successfully, I then tried to add target to the EM, I encountered such error:
Error Message: The Oracle Management Server (OMS) host and port specified via OMS_HOST and EM_UPLOAD_PORT is not available. Pass in a valid hostname and port number for the OMS to successfully deploy the agent.
Exit Code :1
Again I am sure that my host name is reachable and port number it complains is open.
I also opened the SR with oracle support, the SR is 3-6060170341.
I would appreciate if anyone can help and shed some light on this issue.

As i mentioned earlier if you need help from Oracle pls open a Service request (SR) with oracle support and upload the following logs:
<OMS_INSTANCE_HOME>/sysman/agentpush/*.*
Share the SR number.
Can you also ping the oms host from agent host and vice-versa?
Do you have any firwall ?
While deploying the agent using Add host wizard, keep the port input field blank and it will pick up the next free port automatically. There is some env setup issue which is causing this in both install types.
Once you log an SR, Oracle support will help you, they will look into your env and find the root cause. Posting small snapshot of failure in forum can’t be debugged further without logs or a web conference.

Silent installation of Cloud agent 12c failed on a windows 2003 host

I've done multiple installations by silently installing the cloud agent 12c using a response file. However, the configuration portion failed on this one windows 2003 host.
Has anyone seen this? I've searched on metalink and see other problems like TZ, service already exists, incorrect PERL settings etc..but found nothing that helps so far.

Integrating BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 with Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.1 - Different host

BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 is installed in Host A and Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.1 is installed in Host B.
All the samples and steps given in the oracle doc explains how to integrate them if they are in the same host.

Bi publisher cannot be integrated with EM 12c is its running on a different host
Below are the scenarios
For Standalone OMS setup
BI Publisher can only be installed only on the 12c OMS host in case of standalone OMS setup
For multi oms setup
BI Publisher can only be installed only on the Primary OMS in a Multi-OMS setup.

Cloned OMS - WebLogic Admin Server not available....

We are working our way through an active active R4 OMS setup, and we just successfully cloned oms1 to oms2 via cloud control, and executed the post install steps. We now need to access each of the OMSs WebLogic Admin Server Console to confirm LDAP settings, and the oms2 WebLogic Admin Server Console is unavailable. The oms2 clone has the same WebLogic Admin Server details as oms1 (see below).
Is that by design, i.e. only one WebLogic Admin Server Console with two load balanced OMSs?
Which files do we need to edit on oms2 to get oms2's WebLogic Admin Server on-line?

The WLS admin server only exists on the first OMS host. Usually an SLB is used for load balancing.

PURPOSE
GRIDCONTROL을 사용시, GRIDCONTROL이 모니터하는 각 TARGET NODE에는 AGENT가 설치되어 필요한 정보를 OMS로 UPLOAD하게 됩니다. 그러나, 어떤 사정에 의해 OMS에 대한 연결정보 (HOSTNAME 및 IP)가 변경되는 경우, AGENT는 자신이 UPLOAD할 TARGET을 잃어버리게 됩니다.
이 NOTE는 아래 2가지 경우에 대해, 해결방안을 알려드립니다.
(이 문서는 Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 2에 대해 작성되었습니다.)
1. REPOSITORY는 변경되지 않은 채, OMS만 변경되는 경우
2. REPOSITORY 와 OMS 모두 변경되는 경우
EXPLANATION
1. REPOSITORY는 변경되지 않은 채, OMS만 변경되는 경우
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(1) Agent service를 Stop합니다.
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl stop agent
(2) Text Edit를 사용하여, AGENT_HOME/sysman/config/emd.properties 를 open하여 REPOSITORY_URL 항목을 새로운 OMS 접근 경로로 변경합니다.
REPOSITORY_URL=http://<OMS_HOSTNAME>:<OMS_HTTP_PORT>/em/upload
예)
REPOSITORY_URL=http://mgmthost2.acme.com:4889/em/upload
Secure Mode를 사용하고 있어 https 가 언급되어 있더라도, 일단 REPOSITORY_URL은 NON-SECURE (http) URL로 설정합니다. Secure mode를 원하는 경우, 작업 후반부에서 이를 다시 설정할 수 있습니다.
(3) emdWalletSrcUrl 및 emdWalletDest 항목도 변경합니다.
emdWalletSrcUrl=http://<OMS_HOSTNAME>:<OMS_HTTP_PORT>/em/wallets/emd
emdWalletDest=<NEW_ORACLE_HOME>/sysman/config/server
예)
emdWalletSrcUrl=http://mgmthost2.acme.com:4889/em/wallets/emd
emdWalletDest=/private/oracle/em10g/sysman/config/server
(4) emd.properties 화일을 저장한 뒤, Close합니다.
(5) 다음 디렉토리 내의 모든 File을 삭제합니다.
AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/upload/
AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/state/
(6) 만약 Agent가 Secure mode에 있었다면, 다시 Secure Mode로 동작하도록 설정합니다.
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl secure agent
Agent Service를 Start합니다.
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl start agent
Agent가 OMS로 Upload를 하도록 시도해봅니다.
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl upload agent
10~15분 뒤 NEW OMS에서 AGENT와 HOST정보를 확인할 수 있습니다.
2. REPOSITORY 와 OMS 모두 변경되는 경우
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(1) 먼저 OLD OMS가 위치한 HOST 내 기타 TARGET 정보를 모두 제거해야 합니다.
(아직 해당 HOST Target 및 AGENT Target는 삭제하지 않습니다.)
(2) 화면 오른쪽 위의 "SETUP" >> "EM 10g Grid Control Management System" 탭으로 이동하여 다음 정보를 확인합니다. 여기서 TARGET이 모두 삭제되었는지 확인할 수 있습니다.
--> Management Services and Repository
--> Overview page
--> General section
--> Deleted Targets: < click on the digit listed here >
"Deleted Targets" 정보내에서, "Time Delete Completed" 컬럼의 값이 작업시간과 일치하는지 확인합니다.
(3) Target Host의 Agent를 Stop합니다.
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl stop agent
(4) OLD OMS에서 Host Target 정보를 삭제합니다.
(5) OLD OMS에서 Agent Target정보를 삭제합니다.
Targets >> All Targets >> [pick Agent from list] >> "Remove" 버튼
(6) 앞서 언급된 <1. REPOSITORY는 변경되지 않은 채, OMS만 변경되는 경우> 작업을 진행합니다. 다만, 주의할 것은 emd.properties 화일을 저장하는 것까지만 진행해야합니다.
(7) Agent를 CLEAN START하도록 조치합니다.
아래와 같이 작업을 진행합니다.
rm -r $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/state/*
rm -r $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/collection/*
rm -r $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/upload/*
rm $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/lastupld.xml
rm $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/agntstmp.txt
rm $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/blackouts.xml
rm $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/protocol.ini
(8) 다음과 같이 AgenT를 초기화시키고...
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl clearstate agent
이전에 Secure Mode로 동작중이었다면 원상복구 시킵니다.
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl secure agent
만약 emctl secure agent 단계에서 Error가 발생한다면, OMS 정보가 emd.properties 에 정확히 반영이 된 상태인지 다시 확인합니다.
(9) Agent를 Start시킵니다.
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl start agent
(10) Agent가 Start 완료될 때까지 1분 정도 대기한 뒤, Agent가 OMS에게 Upload하도록 조치합니다.
$ <AGENT_HOME>/bin/emctl upload agent
10~15분 뒤, NEW OMS가 새로운 Agent 와 Host의 정보를 확인하게 됩니다.

Open up your site definition (double-click on the site name in the File panel or choose Site > Manage Sites > Edit) and go to the Remote Info category. There, click Use Firewall (if it isn't already selected) - press Test to try the default firewall settings. If that doesn't work, click Firewall Settings. You'll see two relevant settings about 2/3 down - Firewall host and Firewall port. If Firewall port is 21, there probably is something blocking the port.
On Windows XP, you may have the Windows Firewall installed and blocking. Here's how you get to it:
To open Windows Firewall
1.
Click Start and then click Control Panel.
2.
In the control panel, click Windows Security Center.
3.
Click Windows Firewall.
Once you have that open, you'll need to set Dreamweaver as an exception to blocking:
On the Exceptions tab, click Add Program.
In the list of programs, click the name of the program (Dreamweaver) that you want to add, and then click OK. If the name of your program is not in the list of programs, click Browse to locate the Dreamweaver.exe in the Program Files folder and then click OK.
