    Hi all,
I know it's possible to shuffle answers in a quiz, but is it possible to shuffle questions? I would like to shuffle my questions so that users are presented with quiz questions in random order.
    Thanks!

    Hi Rod,
Never thought of using the Question Pool, but that's a great suggestion. I think that may do the trick!
    Much appreciated!

  • Shuffling Questions won't work

    Hi there,
I'm using Presenter 7.0.6 and I have the following problem:
I have a group of questions (30 questions), and I choose 25 out of these 30 questions for a quiz.
    So far, so good.
But: I also chose: "Shuffle questions" in all the fields I found, but still each time I (and others) open this quiz, it's always the same 25 questions and always the same order.
So, they are not shuffled at all...
Also, the viewser.xml correctly shows shuffleQuestions="1"
    What am I doing wrong???
    Cheers,
    Blik

    Dear Shubhi,

  • ITunes Party Shuffle - Questions

I have read several discussion but have not found one exactly on point with regard to the following:
    1. If I choose any Smart List as my source for the shufle (say Hip Hop/Rap), it plays album in their exact orders. It does not shuffle b/w albums. Example: it will play just Beastie Boys.
    2. Sometimes when I pick a playlist as the shuffle source, I get the following error message "The playlist __________ does not contain any songs playable by Party Shuffle." Why? What does this mean?
    3. General, non-Party Shuffle question: why is it that in my Library some songs are checked (the box is checked), while other songs are not checked? What is the significance?
    Thanks everyone!

    1. Check your shuffle settings to make sure you've got them enabled the way you like. Edit > Preferences > Playback You can shuffle by song, artist, or album.
    2. Are the songs on this playlist checked? They won't play if they're unchecked.
    3. If you want songs to play and be part of shuffle, etc. they need to be checked. ITunes ignores them when they're unchecked.

  • Some songs can't be loaded on 2nd gen ipod shuffle (question with answer)

I'm getting the following message when trying to load some songs on to my 2nd gen iPod shuffle:
"Some of the items in the iTunes library, including 'Allegro', were not copied to the iPod "iPod" because they cannot be played on this iPod." When I click on the details triangle I get "Allegro" was not copied because the audio format is not supported by the iPod "iPod".
This is happening for many songs that were previously loaded on this iPod. The songs were all loaded into iTunes from CDs. I have tried the iPod reset utility, deleting all songs and reloading, selecting a single song to sync, no luck.
When I do a "Get Info" on these songs they say they were encoded with either iTunes 6.0.5 or iTunes 7.0.2.
OK. Even before I was able to post the question, I found the answer. If I select the songs and from the "Advanced" menu select "Create AAC version", the AAC version can be copied to the iPod. Get Info shows the encoding has changed so AAC and iTunes 9.0.1.
Hope this helps someone else with a similar problem.
    david.

You can't "sync" that is automatically update an iPod from multiple libraries or computers. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply.

  • Playlist Shuffle question - M Zen M: 3

Hi - have a question on playlists and shuffling them. I have several playlists ranging from around 75 to 500 songs. I tend to play them in shuffle mode, and have noticed that some songs get played a lot, and some almost never. I assume that there is some sort of glitch in the randomizer that determines shuffle order that makes it not truly random - I've seen that before. So I get that this is hard to fix, so I'd like to fix it myself by simply loading a playlist on my computer and shuffling the order of the playlist, then saving it. I figure that the randomizer will still have the same glitch, but the playlist order will be different, so I'll get different songs played often. So I can manage the list this way every time I get bored with the sequence. I've used this technique before with another player I had (Archos Jukebox) and it works fine. Problem is that when I load the playlist on my computer it will only allow me to change the position of track at a time (even if its multiple tracks, its a block at a time). I'd like even to sort them in alphabetical or size or artist or duration sequence, since I think that would solve my problem, but it doesnt seem like this is an option. Any ideas? Thanks?Colin

    Anyone?

  • Playlist shuffle question

As a new Ipod Nano owner I'm having a problem with the shuffle feature. I currently have three playlist loaded and I can't get the Nano to only shuffle one playlist. If I'm listening to "Blues" I get songs from "Classic" or "Christmas". Is this normal or am I not setting something right? The songs do shuffle Ok but they also jump playlists. Thanks

    Hey there,
    Try this:
Head to your iPod's "Settings" menu and scross down to the Shuffle option and change the settings for it to "Albums" and then head to the playlist you wish to listen to and see if that helps.

  • Random library shuffle Question

Is there a way to "force" the library to be played all the way through, randomly, before repeating? On my laptop 273 songs have been played more the once while 799 songs been played once leaving 1957 songs that have not been played at all. I'm hoping not to hear the same song twice until I cycled through the whole library. I know that only 273 songs were played more then once but it just sounds to me that I'm hearing the same handful of songs over and over again.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks'

    Yes.
Create a Smart Playlist with the condition of 'playcount' is 'zero' or 'less than 1' or whatever you need. Also check 'live updating' so the playlist will continually remove any song that is fully played.
Use that Playlist in shuffle mode, rather than the Library, or direct the Party Shuffle to use that playlist.
As you get to higher playcounts for songs in your library, you may need to adjust the constraints.
Or, you could reset all playcounts to '0' once you have heard them all and continue on...

  • New Shuffle question - please help

I have a large music library and am currently using a touch with 32 gigs. I want to get a shuffle to run with. Is there a way that I can use the two Ipods easily? How do I control what goes onto the shuffle without disturbing how the music/videos are organized on the touch?

    Hello Bromley123,
There are several ways to handle multiple iPods with one computer. One option is to set up a playlist with all the music you wish to sync to the Shuffle, and then set your Shuffle up to only sync that one playlist.

  • Song Shuffle question, how to make it more random?

80GB Classic with latest (I think) SW downloads.
Whether using playlists or listening to the complete song listing, the shuffle does not appear to be giving me a true shuffle. I have maybe 3500 songs, some are played the next day, some haven't been played in two years. Playlists exhibit the same tendency, some songs with over 30 plays, some with less than five.
I tried setting up an exclusion in the smartlist where I told it to not put the song on the smart list if it had been played in the previous 20 days. That worked sort of OK, but I had to dock the iPOD every day to keep that working.
Is there a better way to get more random music selection? I have the randomness setting at max (no chance of playing same artist twice). Or at least I thought I did, but I cannot find that setting now.

Make sure you have *Live Updating* ticked in the smart playlist.
On the iPod, start playing a new playlist, then go back to the original playlist and it should be updated (dropping of the recently played songs).
Also, when starting a playlist, go to Music -> Playlists, scroll to the name of the playlist you want and press Play, (not Select).

  • Shuffle questions (im in the market to buy one)

Im in the market for an ipod and I would like to know a few things before buying them.
I dont listen to music too much...im not addicted so im thinking a shuffle. It holds 120 songs? are the songs on the ipod permanently or can you take songs off and put new ones on...
i hope to here from you all with lots of help
    -emily

The small one (512K) holds about that number of songs and yes, you can indeed change the contents around as and when you like.
You can do more than that, though. I spend as much time listening to podcasts on my Shuffle as I do to music, and am just getting into audiobooks (which also work amazingly well).
I'm using half of my Shuffle as a flash drive, moving files and other media content from system to system. That only leaves the other half of the 1 Mb for music, etc., but I've found that to be enough for me.
I've also picked up an inexpensive set of external powered speakers for it and am using it for portable entertainment in the garage, the shop, while working, etc., not to mention it's a breeze to take on travel. I use the speakers to recharge it when on the road (no laptop).

  • Ipod Nano 7th Gen Shuffle question...

Hi, ive just purchased an ipod nano 7th gen, when i use the shuffle function and turn the ipod on the playlist starts back at the begining (i.e 1 of 400) not where i turned it off at (say 30 of 400).
is there any way to correct this so i can get all the way through a shuffle playlist?
    thanks, Rob.

    Hi Raynlis,
It sounds like a frustrating situation with your iPod nano not allowing you to play in shuffle mode. You have already done some of the troubleshooting I was going to suggest - resetting the iPod. The next step would be to do a restore of the iPod. See this article -

  • Shake to Shuffle question

Is it just me, or does the shake to shuffle only work when your phone is not locked? When I'm driving or even sitting at my desk, I would love to be able to just pick the phone up and shake it rather than having to unlock the thing to go to another song.
My phone locks after 1 minute to save power.
    Ouch

I think a lot of people are looking to use shake to shuffle to go to another track without having to be in iPod mode with the screen unlocked. The problem with using shake to shuffle for this is that once you have the iPod controls up, you might as well hit next.
And, it would not be the end of the world to have shake to shuffle work while locked, because you can disable the feature while running.
I think the purpose of this feature is not the above though - the purpose I believe is to be able to shuffle while in a mode that is not shuffling songs (i.e. going in order). This is indeed how it works - the problem here is that it only shuffles within the current album you are on!!! If could quickly skip you to a new album or artist, it might be somewhat handy. This function is pretty close to worthless as I understand it.
I feel the same way as many other posters - I want the ability to switch songs easily without having to push buttons or even take it out of my pocket - Apple needs to come up with something similar to change tracks while locked.

  • General Shuffle questions...

I'm thinking of getting my Mom a Shuffle ... On the plus side the user interface is very nice and I think the clip feature would be very helpful for her, and iTunes would be easier than dealing with MS MediaPlayer. On the negative side, it seems like any iPod will have to chose either machine to load from whereas regular lowly MP3 players could be loaded from multiple places, multiple Operating systems. (She has an older WinXP machine and my dad has an iBook... and a Mac Classic
What are the differences in the iTunes screens for the Shuffle vs. other iPods? Do you still have an Audiobook section and everything? Are there any options to control the Shuffle - like the volume limit or the thing that levels all volume levels to the same loudness.
Is the sound quality from a Shuffle the same as from other iPods?

Sorry, I did not explain myself very clearly.
What I meant was, once the songs are on the shuffle, and you are out listening to it you can't choose what song to listen to (easily). Not really an issue for me I like the randomness of the shuffle and I usually sort the list in contents by song, so if I switch from shuffle to order, I can usually guess what song is next. My daughter does not like it because if she wants to listen to a particluar song, she needs to hit next until the song comes up - she doesn't know when that will be.
