Shuffle's Button/Slider becoming Flimsy/Loose!

Ok i have noticed my iPod Shuffle's button/slider on the back, become a little flimsy/loose.
I usually always go from OFF to Shuffle. Of course not in one move, but a gentle way. Anyways so now when i place my thumb on it and gentle nudge it, it moves slightly up and down, as if its becoming more loose by the minute.
It was definately not like this afew months ago.
Does this happen to ALL iPod Shuffle's???? If so why has Apple not built them to be more durable???
Or do i have a faulty version???
Thing is my Uncle got me my iPod Shuffle 1GB as a gift when he was away on vacation. And he didnt give me the invoice (why should u, its a gift) and i dont think i would qualify for RMA. But hey the iPod Shuffle hasnt even been out for a year (so technically that should mean no date of purchase is required, right?)

try pushing down hard on it that might work maybe it was not installed correctly if there is an apple store near you go there and ask about it(you might have to go to the genius bar)

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

When I am using powerpoint, if I linger too long on a slide the projector looses the signal from my mac. How do I stop this?

When I give a powerpoint presentation, if I linger too long on a slide, the projector looses the signal, moves to a grey screen and scrolls through its menu.
I have tried lengthening the time my Mac has before it goes to a screen saver. It is not that. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening?

Remove the darn shuffle play button!

Hi, I tried out your new design, which I have mixed feelings about, but nevermind that. The most annoying thing I come over in the new Spotify (for iPhone by the way) is the dumb, big, overlapping, unnecessary shuffle play button that pops up everywhere. Is this a bug or is this on purpose? Could at least had add an option for it. Also, it doesn't look streamlined at all with the current design. Did it even occur that not everyone wants a shuffle play button?

So this is what happened: With my last update of my iPhone app, there has appeared an annoying presence of a giant green button called “Shuffle Play” on each and every page containing songs I would like to play. And I cannot stand its presence. Yes I do like to shuffle my playlists sometimes. And I’m sure there was a firm reason deducted by you to put this button up there. But this emphasize to me is very degrading to music in the form of albums. There are more people out there like me who spend hours curating playlists and then putting them into the right order. Many people like me would like to listen to albums “as they are”, that is, as the original artist intended. If Arcade Fire wanted us to shuffle their albums, they would not number their songs on their Funeral album. And in the shuffle vs. not shuffle argument, I have always opted for the latter. And I assure you I’m not alone in this. Shuffling is a part of the work. So let’s just put it there as a mere option just like repeat, etc.
Spotify is supposed to be a music player for everyone! It’s for that girl in Philippines who would like to listen to K-Pop while dry-cleaning and it is also for me who passes by your office in Birger Jarlsgatan in Stockholm thinking how cool would it be to visit the office. And the reply was more than disappointing: “My favorite artists are usually the ones on Spotify top list!” That for me equals “I don’t even like music”. Music for her is a filler. But that is contradictive to what you really are. That is contradictive to the fact that people find a rarity album from a forgotten garage rock band that they had never heard of and discover their music through you. So what does this big shuffle button imply? Shuffle everything? Forget about the tracklisting and the artist and shuffle it all regardless.
Can someone please set me free from this disturbing thoughts in my head and clarify the existence of such button? I take you with me everywhere I go. I encourage everyone to be active and share their favorite music. And then I get this feeling that I’m not a favorite user of yours, that you’d rather go with the girl who chooses the top list over discovering good music and literally puts zero effect into her music streaming experience.
I want you to acknowledge the presence of people like me in your community. I’m not expecting much of you. But I am worth your attention. I have tried almost every other streaming service out there and you outrun them with by a great distance. So I’d rather stick with you and drag all my music friends with me. Thank you!

What do I do when my Nokia n96 slide becomes loose...

I've only had this phone for about 2 weeks, and I've realised that the slide of my nokia n96 has become loose, I know it's something that has happened to most n95, but the n96 is obviously new. How do I fix it? It's under warranty, can I get it fixed free? It's annoying to hear the vibration and the creeks of it!

It depends on how loose it is. Most slider phones loosen up the more you use them.
All you can do is take it to a nokia care point and ask their opinion about it. They may say it's perfectly normal or they may be able to tighten it up under warranty.

Volume buttons on iPhone 5 loose and clicky

My iPhone 5 (black) has been having problems, the side buttons (volume) have been really loose. When I first got the phone (December) it didn't make that noise or feel like how it does now.

Shadows darken when I grab any adjustment slider, become normal on release

This started happening recently, and it's driving me crazy. Basically, clicking and holding any adjustment slider causes the image to instantly become darker, and then it goes back to normal when let go. The adjustments still work, they just appear to be happening to a darker version of the image until you let go. It's really weird. It happens whether you make an adjustment or not, and seems the most prominent in shadow areas. Look closely for instance at the back of the lady's jacket on the left.
I've only got RAW files in my library, but from several different cameras and it's the same for all of them, new or old. Changing the proofing settings doesn't make a difference. Any ideas? Latest version of Aperture (2.1.2), all updates installed etc. My monitor is an Eizo CG241W calibrated with ColorEyes Display Pro and an X-Rite DTP94B.

You don't need to upgrade your software. But if you're struggling with Spry, IMO you should cut your losses and switch to something better for the longrun.
If you have a budget to work with, I highly recommend Project Seven's Pop-Menu Magic 3. It's easy to use in DW CS4, 5, 6 or CC. More importantly, it's bullet proof and works in all devices.

Mute button wont become unchecked

Hi. my mute button on my mac mini will not become unchecked. so the sound is not working:(! please help!

I have a mid 2007 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo that has suffered the same problem. For the longest time it was intermittant, and usually would return after a reboot. Now it seems to be a hardware issue, as System Profiler reports "No Built-in Audio."
Any advice on the ease of repair for this problem? If I crack the case, is there some wire to wiggle or connector to push on?

Track Button Slide Activation

I can't get this to work with my RECORD BUTTONS. Mute, Freeze is OK when I slide my mouse across several channel strip buttons - but not the record buttons. Can anybody help?

It works for me for all buttons except the record enable ones - I guess this feature changed along the way (or it might be a bug instead.
Of course, for rec enable I just slide my finger across the rec enable buttons on my Mackie Control instead, which is essentially the same thing...

Help Choosing specific image for a button - slider not precise enough!

I am using an image from my movie as a menu button. The slider is not giving me enough precision to seleect the image I want. It seems to move a few frames at a time. Is there anyway to make the slider more precise as it scrolls through the movie?

I've tried the arrow keys but that moves the cursor either to the very beginning of the movie, to the middle or to the end. I also tried arrow keys with option. control and command keys pressed down.
There must be a more precise way of locating the still image for the menu button. Perhaps I could go back to final cut, creat a still image and import that as the menu button...but it seems like there must be a simpler solution within iDVD. Help.

I have tried it using the following code but its not running on eclipse I have no idea what "not running" means, but I'm assuming you are having trouble reading the image files.
Read the section from the Swing tutorial on [How to Use Icons|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/TOC.html] for the proper way to read images so that is works in all environments.

My Firefox interface is messed up. When I hover over or click a button it becomes all pixlated, the blocks move around, and lines appear around the buttons.
