Shuffle songs every 10 seconds

Hello. Is there anyway to shuffle songs through iTunes every, say, 10 seconds? This will enable EvilLyrics to keep finding lyrics for my music collection without me having to actually play the enitre song before it naturally goes to the next one. Thanks.
Jason

go to settings on your ipod then go into playback and audio crossfade should be on, turn it off and your problem should be fixed..

  • IPod needs to be reformated every "second use"

    Hey
I am German so pleas excuse my spelling and gramma ;-(
I just reinstaled my Computer a cupple of days ago, so it´s clean, before i reinstaled it everything was working just fine.
So here is what happens, i plug in my USB conection in iPod and USB slot, it takes some time untill i get toled that my iPod needs to get reformated for use with this computer, i do reformate it, it works, i put the ~1600 i have on it, disconect it properly - and the next time i conect it we are back to waiting a while and having to reformate it...
I can´t imagin that is is healthy for the iPod to hammer it with 1600 songs every second day wen i want to put a cupple of songs or a playlist on it (aside from it being anyoing no matter how bad it is for the hardware...)
It would be great if someone could help me fix this.
I am not a profesional so it might be issues with wrong instalation of the USB ports (software wise, i did not change any hardware) but i think i got al the drivers on the computer properly.

It is telling me that i need to reformate it for use on this computer so i am pritty darn shure i can´t just put the files on it like i would wen it would work like it suposed to work (and did work sinc i bought it in september)
Again. brok down so everyone hopfully gets what i am fighting with
    1. I conect the iPod
    2. the i pod tells me it needs to be reformated for use on this computer.
    3. i reformate it.
    4. it works just fine, i can put all the songs on it like i should be able to.
    5. the next time i conect my iPod to the VERY SAME computer there is minutes of it only being the USB harddrive, than i get a mesage that i need to reformate it for use on this computer (wich, yes, like formating usualy dos, deletes all files)
help would be awsome becaus after 3 days of this i feel like having a creative jukebox would be better, and that should be telling you something sigh

  • My IPod no longer shuffles songs within playlists that are clearly set to shuffle.  It is about 3/4 full so I thought of maybe compressing the files to get more space.  Do you think that is the problem and if that might help?

My IPod no longer shuffles songs within playlists that are clearly set to shuffle.  It is about 3/4 full so I thought of maybe compressing the files to get more space.  Do you think that is the problem and if that might help?

Storage space on the iPod would not affect shuffled playlists or playlist shuffling, though substantially full iPods may wind up skipping songs on larger playlists after a while, and require a restart.  As for compressing the files themselves, you can automatically re-encode files to a lower bitrate by checking the box on the summary page when your iPod is connected to your PC/Mac.
As for the shuffle problem, after restarting your iPod (hold the center button and Menu for a few seconds, until the Apple logo appears), make sure you're telling the iPod to shuffle the songs in a playlist by repeatedly clicking the center button until the Suffle Menu comes up, then scroll to the right to turn it on.  From that song forward, the playlists' contents should be shuffled every time the playlist ends, or is accessed from a new song.
Shuffle does sometimes turn itself off, I've found, so double-check the setting is still on.  Also, iPods shuffle by randomly assigning a playlist order for your songs, which is different from traditional shuffle (on, say, iTunes or Windows Media Player, where the new song is determined at random upon the current track ending.  The iPod only chooses a random order of songs when you shuffle, to conserve battery life and queue up songs coming up on the playlist in the event of a shock).

  • Shuffling songs on a single Album

When I set Settings | Shuffle to "Songs", my iPod Classic does indeed shuffle all the songs for an Artist or Genre. But when I select a specific Album, it always plays all the songs on the album sequentially -- always beginning with the first song.
Tech support and user forums indicate that Shuffle "should" also work for a specific Album, but it fails to do so on every Album I've tried. Again, it does work for Artist, Genre, etc. -- but NOT for a single Album.
Help...? Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated!

  • How do I get to 'Shuffle Songs' after picking a track?

I am just getting to grips with my new iPod Classic 160GB (replacing a Sony NW-HD5H Network Walkman that simply didn't have enough capacity for my collection). There were a few functions I liked on my Sony that I can't seem to figure out on my iPod (apologies if the answers are obvious, but I've looked through the User Guide and they didn't answer them).
I like to play my whole collection randomly, so have selected 'Shuffle Songs' in the Music menu. Likewise, from the Main Menu I've selected Settings>Shuffle>Songs so it states Shuffle Entire Music Library. However, I sometimes like to pick a particular to play (selecting it through Music>Albums menu for example), and then presumed that after playing that track it would go into Shuffle mode from all tracks on the iPod, but it just keeps randomly playing the tracks from the Album I've selected. To get it back in full Shuffle Mode I have to go back to the Main Menu and click Shuffle Songs. Is there any workround I can do so my iPod will automatically go back into full Shuffle Mode after I've chosen to play a particular track?
Secondly, if in Shuffle Mode it plays a track and I then want to play another track from the same album, is there any quick way of getting to that album, rather than having to go through the Main Menu to do Music>Albums and having to scroll through hundreds of albums to get to the one that's already being played in Shuffle Mode?
Apart from these, I'm having great fun acquanted with my iPod. My Sony looks like a bit of a dinosaur in comparison!
    Thanks in advance!

To answer your first question, that is how it works. When you go into a playlist of some sort, either one you made in iTunes or going into an Artist list, an album, etc. when you play from that list it will stay in that list. If your iPod is set up to shuffle songs, then it will shuffle just that list you are in. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to go into a list, pick a track then have it automatically jump out of the list and start shuffling the entire library.
Unless you go to Music -> Songs which shows ALL the songs in your library and find the track from that location. Then it would shuffle the list you are in, Songs, so is a round about way to play a track you want then continue to shuffle through your entire library. But the hard part is scrolling through thousands of songs to find that one you want to start with.
As to your second question, I assume you mean if you are shuffling the entire library from "Shuffle Songs" item off the main menu, then the answer is no, you can not easily jump from a randomly playing track to a listing of the other tracks of that album. You would have to jump up to the main menu, Music -> etc.

  • Video in Shuffle Songs

Okay, I could be completely wrong here, but bear with me.
I seem to remember, months ago, when I clicked shuffle songs, it'd play the music videos as well and actally show the video.
Now when I click shuffle songs, when a video plays, it shows like 5 seconds in as the album cover and plays the audio, but the video doesn't work.
Am I just imagining that it ever did? Or is it supposed to play music videos? If yes, can someone help me fix it?
    60gig 5g ipod   Windows XP

You're imaging it. To watch the actual Music Video, you have to go straight through the Videos menu. From the Main Menu, go to Videos, Music Videos, and select the MV you'd like to "watch." Shuffle Songs just shuffles Songs, meaning, Main Menu > Music > Songs. If you were to access those same MVs via the Songs list, the video wouldn't play. Make sense? Probably not.

  • Itunes will not shuffle songs

I can't shuffle songs in a playlist anymore. I used to be able to do it, then one day it just stopped. I clicked the icon, went to "control-shuffle songs", held down the alt button and clicked the icon, and even hit F5 as stated in the trouble shooting guide. Still no shuffle. Any suggestions? This isn't an idpo issue, its an itunes issue.
    5th gen   Windows XP

Thank you for posting this problem and solution. I had the same problem and couldn't find much help elsewhere. I tried your solutions and would offer a slight change that made it worked for me.
I completed steps 1 through 6. Then iTunes tried to sync with my ipod shuffle. It wasn't communicating with the ipod so the software was frozen for several minutes. I switched to Device Manager window to "Scan for hardware changes" and the iPod showed up under Storage volumes, but with a yellow circle with an exclamation mark in it. Clicking on the device properties showed that it was not working properly. After iTunes finally gave up trying to synce and reported the "Required disk cannot be found" message I returned to Device Manager and uninstalled the device (ipod). Then I followed the directions in step 7. to "Scan for hardware changes". Windows automatically installed the hardware, but then wanted me to reboot. The first time I pressed "Yes". That was the wrong choice. The second time I pressed "No". Then I followed step 8. and returned to iTunes and the ipod was working again. I deselected "disk use", switched to the content tab and clicked on Autofill and it worked.
    Thanks again for your solution.

  • Shuffle Songs vs. Albums

What do these three terms mean on my video ipod:
    Shuffle: Off
    Shuffle: Songs
    Shuffle: Albums
I hoped "Shuffle: Songs" meant that playlists were shuffled while albums were not. But when I my albums are also being shuffled.
    Thank for your help,
    Chris

    Hi,
I do not believe this is correct. What do you mean by "every song you presume to play through"? I disagree that there is a shuffle mode that plays album songs in alphabetical order.

  • ITunes causing a "pause" in my PC every second or so.

    Thanks for anyone reading this.
I have a "pausing" problem when iTunes is maximized or in a window (problem goes away if iTunes is minimized). The problem also goes away if the display on the top portion of iTunes is the graphical equalizer instead of displaying the track info. Basically whenever iTunes is running and the track info is displayed my computer gets this pause every second or so in every application even just moving the mouse on the desktop (dual monitor setup). If I minimize iTunes or change the display to the equalizer that little annoying pause goes away. obviously I can just keep it minimzed or on the equalizer but sometimes I like to look at the disply to see what song it is and I hate to have to go thru so much work just to see the song title. Just curious if anyone has experienced anything like this??
Thanks in advance for any replies or suggestions .....

My situation wasn't ever this bad, but I noticed that the larger my library was, the slower it seemed to navigate. Anyway, my mouse never really paused every few seconds, but the best I can guess is that you're computer's resources may be being used a lot just to display and navigate iTunes. Don't quote me on this, but if this is indeed the cause of you're problem, you might either have to put up with the pauses, or buy a more powerful computer.
Actually, if possible, you might want to try closing all programs you have open except iTunes. If that helps, then you can just use iTunes in that way. However, that would also confirm that your computer's resources are being used up.

  • How to add a marker every second in Adobe Premiere CS6

I have a song with a beat every second. I need to change footage every beat.
Is there a way to generate markers automatically?

If by "every second,"  you mean literally every 30 frames (or whatever timebase you're working in), then you could add a series of 1 second clips to a track and either use them directly in one of several ways or, if using markers is really key to your workflow, then hit Down Arrow (i.e., Next Edit Point) and then "M" repeatedly.
There's also a way you could use Prelude, but that would involve navigating by clip markers in the Timeline, which you can do in CC but not in CS6. Let me know if you'd like to hear more.

  • IPod stuck on same starting shuffle song after sync

I have the iPhone 3G with the latest 2.2.1 firmware but this is a recurring problem. After each sync, I notice that when I play music, it always starts with the same song every time (it's on shuffle mode always). If I remember correctly, it didn't work like that before but somewhere along the firmware upgrades, something changed and now this is the default (and annoying) behavior. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

don't have a workaround - but its a me too

  • After 4.3.3 upgrade ipod does not shuffle songs

After 4.3.3 upgrade ipod does not shuffle songs. The stop shuffling after any interruption occurs. So If play in the card, get a call, answer it then go back to the music, I have to manually select shuffle. This did not occur prior to the IOS update.

WEP and Apple products are only somewhat compatible - as you are finding out. If you create your own passwords, then you have to follow specific rules - 48 bit, 5 characters, 128 bit, 14 characters. Shorter or longer, the password won't work.
If you are stuck with WEP (I'd update the laptops with a USB wireless stick before I used WEP, but that's your decision) try the following:
    1. Use the 128 bit setting
    2. Either create a 14 character password or use WEP key 1 (that's the hex key) in place of your password on the touch.
You could set up a second wireless access point and, as long as it used a different SSID, setup to run WPA2-AES encryption. That would take care of your modern devices.

  • Shuffling songs in "genre" or "artist"

Why won't my new i pod 30 GB 5th gen shuffle songs within a particular genre or by an artist ?
For example, when in "punk", I don't want it to play every Clash song within that genre in the same order all the time, then The Jam, then The Ramones and so on. I want it to randomly select, like my creative MP3 does. Similarly, I don't want it to play my 200 Bob Dylan songs listed under "artist" in the same order every time. I want it to randomly select from the list.
This is the only drawback I find in an otherwise great piece of kit.

Thanks Jeff, funnily enough I'd just sorted it. The problem I had was that in "settings", the top of the list was "EQ". I didn't realise "shuffle" was up there if I scrolled up instead of down !
    Doh !!
    Cheers

  • Classic 120Gb shuffle songs

My 120Gb has close to 3000 tracks but when I put it on shuffle songs it is not unusual for 3 or 4 tracks from one album to play in a 2 hour period. Doesn't seem very random to me, could there be a setting causing this?

Similar complaints have been posted on these forums - there is no setting on the iPod that will change this behavior.
The best thing to do is create a smart playlist with one of the parameters "Last Played not in the past 7 days" (the last played duration can be set to whatever you wish). Then you can limit the number of songs on the playlist to, say, 500 songs which iTunes can select at random. When this is further shuffled by the iPod, you should be OK.
Every time you sync your iPod, the playlist will update itself with new songs that have "aged" appropriately, and recently played songs will be removed from the list.
    Hope this helps.
