Shuffle won't hold charge

I plug it in my computer. Everything seems normal. It charges to a green light. I eject it and then NOTHING. No lights of any color. When plugged back into the computer it functions as though it is fully charging itself again.
Is my battery shot?
I was given a shuffle as a gift in April. I used it pretty frequently until the end of May. I moved and didn't have access to my computer to charge it, so I stopped using it until about a month ago when I realized that I had this problem.
I've tried updating, but that hasn't helped. There's no way that I charged it 150 times already.

If you are getting no lights at all when you turn it on or try to play it, and the battery test light does not come on, the battery may have shorted out (which is most often caused by moisture getting in the the Shuffle). You can exchange it here:

iPod touch 2nd G won't hold charge. Restore does not help. Removed all apps and it still discharges even if not turned on and used for anythig. What gives?

If it is warranty, bring it back to the Genius bar and insist on a replacement.  If out of warranty, you can get a replacement iPod with a new battery for $79 at the genius bar.

If you are having issues with your 2nd Gen iPod Shuffle, you may want to try the steps in the following Troubleshooting Assistant:

  • Brand new ipod shuffles won't hold a charge

I've bought and returned 2 ipod 4th generation shuffles because they won't hold a charge for more than 1.5 hrs after I charged them overnight. Those were brand new ipods and I use them for the gym. Why aren't they holding a charge? Has anyone else had these problems? They are supposed to have a long battery charge.  I don't want to keep buying and returning ipod shuffles. My other ipod shuffles haven't lasted long either. The battery quality is very low. I might try a 3rd shot but I'm very frustrated.
Can anyone recommend another brand other than Apple?
    Thanks

When you are excercising with the Shuffle do you have it protected with a moisture resistant sleeve or case?  If not, there is a good possibility that moisture is making its way into the Shuffle and deteriotating its internal components including the battery.
You could test this out, by replacing the Shuffle a third time, charging it over night, and then seeing how long it lasts on a full charge without using it for exercise.

  • Ipod 3rd Gen won't hold charge

I got a 3rd generation Ipod used for my sister for christmas, but it is having problems that I'm worried about.
First of all, it won't charge through the usb cord hooked up to the computer. It does recognize it in ITUNES but it won't charge. I hooked it up to a wall charger, and it charges fine but it won't hold a charge for more than 10 minutes!!! Any help?

3rd generation iPods don't charge over USB.
If the wall charger is USB, it won't charge the iPod either.
You will need to purchase a Firewire wall charger.

  • IPod Touch (5th Gen) Battery Won't Hold Charge

After the last update my iPod Touch 5th Gen will not hold a charge. I haven't had any problems with it until this 8.1.1 update. Yesterday I charged the battery up to full charge and  used it briefly to listen to music in my car however here it is the next day and the battery is dead again. It is NOT playing while not in my car. Meaning nothing should be running the battery down because it's not being used.  I know it's not playing because the volume is set to half way so I'd undoubtedly hear it if it was playing.  It just won't hold a charge and for no apparent reason. Any suggestions?

  • Ipod classic won't hold charge

My apple ipod classic which is just a yr or two old won't hold a charge.  The battery icon has a lightning bolt in it so it says its charging but it won't hold a charge.  Any ideas?

It sounds your iPod's battery is shot and in need of replacement.  You can have Apple service it at a flat rate or you can find a third party repair site who can do it for much less.

  • Torch 9850 won't hold charge after OS update

I updated my blackberry last Wednesday with the latest OS (7.1), and since then, my phone won't hold a charge.  I started noticing it on Thursday, and it's progressively gotten worse.  A full charge will last only about 4 hours.  I've changed the battery out for a new one, but to no avail.  The phone won't hold a charge.  It will, however, still charge with either battery (the old and the new), and after it's charged (after being totally dead) it will turn on, andit will connect to Blackberry desktop software.  It just won't hold the charge.  Please help...what can I do???  Note: I live in Mexico, and have no warranty, so I can't return the phone.  So please, someone help with ideas that don't include getting a new phone, if it's possible.  Thanks!!!

  • Satellite S55-A5255 Battery won't hold charge

Like the title says this S55-A5255 won't hold a charge. From what I've been reading and stuff that this battery isn't "user replaceable". Which can be done. The trouble I'm having is trying to find a battery for this laptop. I can't find it no where! All major retailers and computer techs tells me that they have no idea where I can purchase this battery. Toshiba sells the laptop but tells me they no longer replace the battery if it comes in to be repaired. Plus since this laptop is out of warranty I don't want to spend several hundred dollars to get one battery. Does anyone know the manufacturer that sells these batteries or know anyone that sells it?

  • IPhone won't hold charge

I have had my iPhone for about six months, suddenly it won't hold a charge. I have tried charging it using my computer and also through the usb to the outlet. The charge symbol appears but my battery icon continues to be red?

If the phone is hacked, this could interfere with the phone's ability to charge.
If it's not hacked, you'll need to either call AppleCare or make an appointment at the Genius Bar in an Apple Store.

  • HT201401 baby tossed iphone in toilet now won't hold charge

My 18 month old daughter tossed my iphone 4 in the toilet.  After drying it out for a couple of days, I tried to use it again.  I thought it was fixed when it came on, and even was able to make calls.  All seemed fine, until i realized that it will only hold charge to around 10%.  Then when it ran out of battery, it wouldn't charge again.  It would show the apple logo, the turning circle thing, then off again.  So, I dried it out for another day or so, then charged it, and it came back on, I could use it, placed calls, etc.  It, again, would only charge to 10% or so.  I have ordered a new battery, but I'm wondering if this will fix the problem.  If not, does anyone have any suggestions other than to never leave my phone where my baby girl can get to it.  lol  Thanks.

Your best bet is to not change the battery and take it to Apple for a replacment unit. It will cost you 149 but the phone will work/look like new. As it was water damaged more could be damaged other then the battery. If you replace the battery then you won't be able to replace it with Apple for 149 as it won't have the origninal parts or it's been opened by a 3rd party.
