  • Ipod shuffle wont charge - 2yrs old , dead ?

my ipod shuffle wont charge the orange light just blinked (front light)
    when plugged in, for hours
i upgraded the software and reset the ipod
now when plugged in no light ??
it is 2 years old, is the shuffle battery dead ?
it still shows up in itunes and transfers music etc.
    mic

my ipod shuffle wont charge the orange light just
    blinked (front light)
    when plugged in, for hours
While the orange light blinks it'll NEVER turn
green UNLESS whatever is causing the light to blink
(access by iTunes, used as data storage drive, ...)
stops. IF you EJECT or UNmount or "safely remove
hardware", it might display a solid orange...
i upgraded the software and reset the ipod
now when plugged in no light ??
NO light? That means it's not receiving power from
    the USB port.
it is 2 years old, is the shuffle battery dead ?
It may very be. What happens when you press the
battery status button on the back? Does the LED show
    anything?
it still shows up in itunes and transfers music
    etc.
Yeah, but what good is it if it won't play when
    disconnected?
first thing this morning (after a overnight rest)
    i got a red light
when i press the back light now
    i get nothing,

  • Shuffle wont charge

my shuffle wont charge. The orange light is solid and won't flash like it used to while charging. Also it only flashes for about 10 seconds and then it says that apple update complete, OK to remove i-pod. What do i do???

that's what it should do check the status light card in the box it says a solid amber light means it's gharging and a flashing amber light means it's updating i have my shuffle in the USB port to charge and it has a solid amber light and the battery status light has went from flashing orange to yellow so that is to be expected so...don't panic but if you do have any other problems just post it.

  • USB DVD Burner connected to Portege 3500 is not recognized properly

I am trying to connect an HP DVDv 940e DVD Burner to my Portege 3500.When I connect the device it is not recognized and the device manager list it as an unknown mass storage device without driver. Where can I get this driver?

the solution to the question is: find a computer which will accept the external burner, look what the driver for the mass storage device is called. in my case usbstor. search your computer for "usbstor". there should be at leat 3 different files (.sys .inf and another one),copy these onto your computer, and when you try to install the mass storage device in the device manager, direct the hardware assistant to these files. it should accept the driver it did with me. If there are more problems after that use the same method, find the working drivers on the other computer and copy all files of that name to your computer, showing the hardware assistant where to look.

  • Shuffle wont charge - help?!?!

I bought a new 2.0 usb/firewire card and have windows 2000 with service pack 4. I installed the current ipod software (1.1) and the latest itunes, yet when i plug my ipod in, it just flashes orange the whole time, and wont charge. ***? any clue as to whats wrong?

I have the same problem, but it just recently started. When I plug the shuffle into the USB port, it does nothing, unless it is turned on, then it flashes a fast blinking green light. It will NOT show up in iTunes either. This shuffle is 4 months old, and just started this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything. The only thing I can't do is restore it, since it keeps prompting me to plug my iPod in, whether or not it is already plugged in.
BTW, I have two shuffles, and both do this, however the other one blinks a fast orange. The iPod mini works just fine.

  • Ipad wont turn on and the reset will not work. when i connect to computer, it is not recognized. what next?

my ipad will not turn on and I have tried the reset process and I have tried to connect it to my computer but it is not recognized by the computer. Not sure what else could resolve this issue and get my ipad to reset?

Did you try to get it working on another computer, see if that does it. BTW have you re-charged it using the 10w power adaptor, it might be out of power.
there's also a possibility that it may be a battery issue. contact apple if problems persist.

  • IPod shuffle 4th generation is not charging, not recognized by my computer and laptop (Windows 7) and does not show up in iTunes

I have done all the troubleshoots and reset functions but my iPod shuffle is still not working. Every time I plugged my iPod it only shows red light that lasts for about 3 seconds and will disappear after some time. I've been using the same computer and laptop back then, and it stopped working since the last week of October.

  • Mac Mini 2009 not recognizing second display

I have a Mac Mini (late 2009) and I have connected two monitors via a VGA splitter. Both screens are working and displaying the image of the screen, but I want an extended desktop and when I try to change the display preferences it says "the arrangements pane has been hidden because you only have one monitor connected". Detect displays does not work, and neither does restarting the computer/turning screens on and off. Help!

Hi, a spitter won't work for this, it simply "splits" a single signal out to monitors for mirroring, the splitter look like one monitor to the computer.
Which port do you have it/them connected to now?

  • Nokia c3-01 charger not recognized message

Bought nokia c3 -01 in Malaysia when i plug in charger here in australia  get message charger not recognised? have done update and tried different chargers but still have problem.how can i fix this?

    wondershade:
Does your charger plug into an electrical socket or does it plug into a computer via USB cord?
If your charger plugs into an electrical socket, then you may need a power plug adapter.
If your charger plugs into a computer via USB cord, try plugging the USB cord to a different USB ports. If that doesn't work, plug your phone into different computers.
    Kudos if this helps.

  • Mac DVD Superdrive not recognized in Encore CS5

I'm trying to burn a DVD using Encore CS5 on my new Mac Pro.  I already spoke with Apple to troubleshoot to see if it was the drive.  It was not the drive.  Therefore, there is a problem with Encore not recognizing the drive.  In the destination window in Encore, where it says "Recorder" in the build tab, it says "None Found".  Anyone know what the problem is?

Well, in the WINDOWS world some software will cause Encore to not be able to "see" a drive, so read the links below... I don't know if the same kind of thing happens in the MAC world
Things and Software to AVOID when authoring/burning a DVD
    Start --> http://forums.adobe.com/thread/608660?tstart=0
#2 here has WHY Explained http://forums.adobe.com/thread/607390
    Plus http://forums.adobe.com/thread/562941?tstart=0
Again in the Windows world, if the user can't or won't remove the offending software for some reason, the solution is to have Encore build the project to hard disk (folder or create an ISO) and then use 3rd party software to burn the folder or ISO to DVD
    Added
In fact, just go ahead and tell Encore to write the project to your hard drive and then use other software to write that output to a DVD... if that works, you know that "something" is getting in the way of Encore being able to communicate with your drive

  • Dual Display on Mac Pro (2011) not recognized after Yosemite Upgrade

I have  Mini Displayport-to-HDMI adapter that used to work fine until I upgraded to Yosemite (now running 10.10.2).  Now during boot up the main display flashes looking like it 'notices' the 1080 display resolution then quickly ignores it and the HDMI output is not recognized in the System Preferences Display window.  This Mac Pro has two Mini Displayport ports and both behave similarly.
The main display powered through the DVI port works fine
    Any suggestions to resolve ?

Not sure how critical your dual display is to your work life, but if it is you may want to consider using a Matrox product. Google it and search their site for "DualHead2Go" adaptor. I've used their stuff since 2008 when I bought my MacBook Pro. Their software is always kept up to date with the latest Mac OS. I have been VERY pleased over the years. Food for thought if you can't get your current system to function properly.

  • Mac App Store not recognizing previously installed Apple applications

Mac App Store is not recognizing previously installed Apple applications (Aperture 3; iLife'11; iWorks'09) as already purchased and installed. These were installed either via download from the Apple Store or from install discs. Prior to the 10.6.7 update, at least some of these applications were recognized as already installed by the Mac App Store. This is no longer the case.

However, it now says that the software that came with my Mac Book Air (iLife) and other software must be re-purchased!
No, it doesn't say you must re-purchase them. You can continue to use those apps as they are. There is no requirement for you to re-purchase them. If you wish to have lifetime updates, you can purchase the version on the app store which will give you that. However, you still have the same license to use those bundled apps the same as everyone else.
This is wrong, at least for the Mac Book Air 2010 and forward purchases because of Mr Jobs announcement back in October.
What did he say that makes you think that?
No! Apple must make good on this. Why should Apple give me iLife with an MBA and tell me that I'm getting an App Store and then deny those software to be excluded from being "installed"? This is wrong.
No, you are wrong. You received the standard bundled apps that were bundled with every other Mac. The App store only reports on apps actually purchased from the app store (apparently correctly, now). Your bundled apps were not purchased from the Mac App Store. They were bundled with your Mac.
    Apple reps (you guys here)
They are not, at least the ones you wish to talk to.
MUST escalate this issue for computers/software purchased from that October announcement and understanding.
Why? You didn't buy a "Mac App Store" bundle with your Mac. As I explained above, you received applications bundled with your Mac. They still work. You have not been cheated in any way.

  • IMac powers up fine.  Wireless keyboard and tracking pad not recognized. Power lights blink twice, repeatedly. Any ideas?

My iMac was off during a recent thunderstorm. When I power up the computer all is fine.  However the wireless keyboard and track pad are not recognized by the computer.  Their power lights blink twice, go off, then blink again. Any suggestions?

Turned out that I had to disconnct the keyboard from the new iMac in order to show in the old iMac.

  • Ipod Shuffle wont charge up

i cant seem to charge up my son's ipod shuffle (4th gen). both of my sons have them, they are identical and the 2nd one charges no problem. it has been run down so that the battery is dead (i think) but it wont turn on and no light comes on when i plug it into either usb or mains. (the other one charges up in the same usb port no problem). if anyone has had this problem and has a quick fix i'd be grateful for suggestions. many thanks

I may not check this thread again, but I wanted to let you know I just bought a computer that has 3.0 usb hubs and they do not charge my ipod shuffle. If I plug it in something that has the common 2.0 usb hubs, it works. You may be trying to charge yours on a 3.0 usb hub. If that isn't what the case is, the common way they don't charge, and you may know this, is if your computer goes into sleep mode or is not on (most computers), it will stop charging. If it isn't charging at all, it could be your usb. If you have a cable box, xbox 360, ps3; try those usb ports. I hope this helps!
