Shut down computer now won't connect to my network

the computer has been connected to my wireless network for a few days, then last night i shut down the computer and when i started it back up this morning, it could not connect to my network and gave me an error saying "There was an error joining the airport network "__"." (where __ is the name of my network) Other computers in the house are working just fine, what can i do to fix this? (i've tried restarting and shutting it down again and that didn't work)

Plugging in USB shuts down computer - now it won't start up

I have this USB cable that connects mics and other instruments to the computer. I'd used it before without a problem - but yesterday I plugged it in and the computer immediately shut down. I was clearing some dust out of the port and the computer started up. I guess some sort of short has taken place.
The bigger problem is that the computer will no longer start up all the way. I get the gray screen with the status wheel - but it doesn't get past that. It will stay there for a half hour if you leave it - but it never fully starts up.
I unpluged all peripherals. I tried the CommandOption+RP, but nothing.
Any ideas how I can get my computer back?

can not believe it but did a system restor on windows vister and got it all back you can chose the date you want to restore you computer too and it worked sooooooo happy love it.

MacBook Pro (retina late-2013) randomly shut down and now won't turn on again

I recently bought a MBPR a few days ago and was working seamlessly. Today I had taken it off charge to watch a couple videos and talk to a few people online. While I was doing this, the MacBook Pro was rested on a couch so I'm certain ventellation was fine.
Then at one point it shut down unexpectedly. I was able to turn if back on, thinking it might be battery but as it booted back up I saw that it was on 65%. I then continued to use it and by the time it reach ~60% it shut down again. This time I wasn't able to boot it up again at all. I pressed the pwer button, plugged it into power and pressed it again and even tried an SMC reset. The AC's indicator LED flashed from orange to green (as it is suppoed to with SMC resets) but it would still not turn on after I pressed the power button again.
Please help, this computer is brand new and I am not sure what could have caused this.

I have picked up my brand new MBPR on the 4th as well, and last night restarted for the first time after software update ( mavericks ) and after 3 hours hours of grey screen with spinning wheel called APPLE who again never knows what they are talking about because they keep saying " we never heard about that " when I called about the same issue on my 17 inch 2 months ago. So I called 3 times this morning and when I let them know that I am quite " puzzled " that every time I mention a Maverick Issue suddensly my call gets disconnected, and nobody calls me back when THEY SWEAR they took notes of my call bacl number. Last call a few minutes ago, I spoke to a supervisor and talked for 45 minutes about all issues and when he expressed concern about me recording the call I told him " You guys record my calls, so where does it say where I couldn't record yours if I wanted to ? " and the supervisor hung up on me... Way to Go APPLE!!! I've been an apple devotee since I first got my apple lisa in 1984 but they have only been going to " s*** " the last 2-3 years.

My MAC mini looses the wi-fi connection to a Belkin N wireless router when it goes to sleep or shut down. I have to re select the network when restarting or waking the computer up. I think this just started with Lion. My iPod and iPad have no trouble.

Thank you BGreg. That is what I have been doing, and then it works just fine. I think it was doing the same thing in the previous version of Lion. I may be incorrect about that. I upgraded to 10.7.3 a few weeks ago, and then last week I reloaded the combo update, hoping it would help. Not so. Thank you for letting me know it is a common problem. I have tried permissions in Disk Utilities, and in Macaroni, both at least 4 times, plus numerous restarts. Nothing Improves. It still can not find the internet when it wakes up or gets up.

They said I need it to erase my hard drive but I have too many family pics on it.

Please advise, it's like five years of family pics I don't wanna loose them and I am worried.

I really apprecate your very quick respond, Its too late to back up as of now, my hard drive wont load at all so I cannot follow your instruction to back it up. Learn a hard lesson but I will from now on following your link.
Also my hard drive it is not available to do the free exchange program.
I read the OWC instruction on how to replace the drive I was just wondering if the 2TB would work on it instead of the 1 TB they offer, I specifically asked for the Seage Barracuda because I had great experiences with it on PCs.

i put that i held down the home button and all that... sorry, should of made my message a little clearer hun.. but i did try that, ive been searching video's on the net trying to figure out how to fix the problem, but nothing seems to be working... ive just tried pluging the usb lead into my phone while holding the home button then connecting it to my computer to see if itunes fires up, but even that didnt work... i dont know what else to try.

Your only option is to connect your iPhone to your computer via USB (as the diagram indicates) and restore using iTunes.
