1. I want to develop Form having 2-buttowns,1 for shutdown 2nd exit button.
2. When I click on shutdown button it ShutDown my Computer System.
3. If it is possible, then plz reply.

I don't use the OC4J but may i can give you some tips.
i can't give any support or guarantee. You have to decide your own if you try this:
First you have to convert the startinst.bat (e.g. 9.04 %develper_home%\j2ee\DevSuite) to an .exe file.
This can be done with Bat_To_Exe_Converter.exe (i think it's free to use and it is german).
look at: [http://www.winsoftware.de/bat-to-exe-converter,155,31119.htm]
After this you can use the install service tool instsrv.exe (i think it is free too)
download: [http://www.dondie.de/dbdats/tools/INSTSRV.EXE]
you can install the new startinst.exe as a service with the following command:
instsrv oracle_oc4j %develper_home%\j2ee\DevSuite\startinst.exe(replace %develper_home% with your forms developer folder)
and with net start oracle_oc4jyou can start the service in a command prompt. The prompt will not come back. press CTRL-C.
the new service is not running, but in the task-manager you will find a java-process and
you can reach the oc4j via port 8889 and your forms application (may) will run.
On my machine, it works.
after a system restart the service also is not running, but oc4j is reachable via port 8889.
with
instsrv oracle_oc4j removeyou can drop the service again.
Think on: NO support or guarantee
may you try it on a virtual pc with snapshot on !

Connecting to R/3 System through Java Web Dynpro forms.

Hi,
I have a requirement in which I have to send data to R/3
from Java Web Dynpro screens.
I will design the Java Web Dynpro screens and write a RFC Model.
I will write a RFC in se37 which will connect to the RFC Model.
Before creating the RFC in se37, I will create ztables in se11.
I will write a ABAP Report to see that all data enters the ztables.
I need some guidance with regard to this.
Do, the RFC Model have the access of the ECC(R/3) System.
What are tasks to be told the Basis guy so, that RFC being called from through Java Web Dynpro?
Please provide me some documents with regards to this scenario.

Hi Neha,
The steps you provided is clear enough to connect to a R/3 system through the WD forms.
On creating the model you need to give two inputs such as
logical system name for model instance
logical system name for RFC metadata
there will be 2 default values, also you can create your own JCOs in the <servername>:<port>/devinf of the server or u can ask your basis team also.
Before creating the JCO , the SLD (System Landscape Directory) needs to be configures, that your basis team will know.
other than that once you create the functional module in se37 make it RFC enabled , and once you import the RFC model , you can give your ECC system user name and password and search for RFC you have created from the list of RFC.

Not converting the logical system through BDLS

Hi Experts,
I did the system copy of BI system from production to developemnt
To change the logical system in RSA1 --> Source systems
I have choose client role as test in scc4 and in tcode BDLS i have given the old logical system name new logical system name
after completing the job RBDLSMAP i checked in the RSA1 there is no change in logical sytem
i got the following message

Hi experts,
I have done the system copy form Production to Developement.
Transfermations and DTP(Data transfer process) are still connected from Produciton R3 which should be from developemnt R3.
I have tryied to change the logical sytem name through BDLS. But the logical system name is not changed
i got the job log which is in above conversation in my thread.
Please let me know how to change the logical system name in Transfermations and DTP in RSA1

Can't login, the system through me back to the login window.

I need help. Once I tried to login under admin account but the system through me out after accepting a psw. It happens like it checks the psw shows the blue screen and then return to the login window. Meantime I can succesfully log in under another user account. I tried to change psw and login but it doesn't help. The system is friendly accepting the admin psw for all the possible aims but not the login. Before that happend the system was blaiming me for overfulled hard drive. Now I cleaned it but that doens't help. What shall I do, in order to log in, what is wrong?
I have a time machine copy but recovery of admin user folder didn't help. Many thanks in advance for your assistance!

You can use the install DVD to reset the password, repair the disk and repair permissions. If you don't have the install DVD you could try the following.
Print the following and then follow these instructions very carefully - at each stage wait for processes to complete - spaces are important:
1 - shutdown
2 - start in single user mode by holding command (Apple key) and S while it starts
3 - type the following and hit the return key to repair the disk
/sbin/fsck -fy
4 - type the following and hit the return key
/sbin/mount -uw /
5 - type the following and hit the return key
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
5 - type the following and hit the return key
shutdown -h now
6 - start the Mac
7 - The above tricks the Mac into thinking it is starting for the first time. Follow the various processes as normal but DO NOT use a name that has been used on the Mac before. It will set up a new admin account without removing existing accounts with different names.
8 - Use the new admin account
9 - If necessary enable the root user (see Mac help) to reset passwords on other accounts.

View BLOB content through Forms 6i URGENT... URGENT...

I have a table which stores word documents as BLOB. My database is on UNIX machine and I access the database through a Citrix machine through Oracle Forms. My client wishes to open the word document in Forms which is stored in BLOB in the database. My database version is 9.2 which supports me to import and export files from file system to BLOB and vice versa using DBMS_BLOB and UTL_FILE packages. But, my only concern is regarding opening the word document through Forms 6i. Is that possible through OLE or any other means? I've tried all the sources. I know I can do it using Webutil, but it will not work for Forms 6i. Please help me in this regard. I have an urgent release tonight. Please. Please. Please. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

I know that OLE can solve the problem. But issues is my word document is stored as BLOB in the database. My database is in UNIX. So, I can't export my files into UNIX and open them. I can't view them either from Forms. Please let me know if you have any alternative. Please can you guide me with step by step procedure as to how this can be done if we can do it using OLE.

Issues in calling Sql Loader through forms developer (10g)

I am developing a form(in 10g) ,in which I am calling sql loader for loading data onto a oracle database table from external source (e.g. data file is a .CSV file).
But , somehow the sql loader is not getting executed.
Here , I am giving the environment settings , approach i am taking;
This is a distributed system , both the application server,and database server are mounted on two different servers.
The form is delpoyed on the application server.
The database table , and the sql loader are configured on the databse side.
I am using host(<sql loader command>) command to invoke the Operating System command through forms.
The sql loader is working ok , and the data is getting loaded successfully onto the required database table when I am executing the sql loader command on Unix prompt , but through the forms , it's not working.
Do I need to change some environmental setting to make this work...
Any quick help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Error is system copy form 64 bit to 32bit

Dear All,
I am facing problem in system copy. we have the offlince backup of PRD(64 bit) and the test server is 32 bit.
1. oracle is up and when I try to start sap dispatched get stop in Trans log ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied.
The sid is same as PRD .
2. when I am trying to run oradbusr.sql ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56319]

There source system is 64bit and target system is on 32bit.
In Sap system copy there is upgrade your database from 32-bit to 64-bit but not form 64bit to 32bit.
Do I have to add the same in the control. sol file.

1. If you want to upgrade your database from 32-bit to 64-bit, add the following lines at the bottom of
the CONTROL.SQL file:
shutdown immediate;
startup restrict
spool utlirp.log
@?/rdbms/admin/utlirp.sql
spool off
alter system disable restricted session;
Till no we have restore the database the oracle is up and running but when starting sap dispatches is getting stop.
It is possiable to do system copy form 64 bit to 32 bit . by any process like R3load.
So Please suggest is there any way .

Tunning through Forms?

I am the student of Oracle Developer forms 6i.
I am using Windows XP O/S and 10 G database with forms 6i.
With regard to SQL Tracing I would like to ask the following please suggest me :
1. I want to enable SQL Tracing through forms 6i, in this regard there is no clear concept coming in my mind that how should I enable SQL Trace for a particular Session from forms 6i.
I read in another book that ifrun60 command with statsistic= yes on command line would enable forms 6i sql tracing. If yes then how should I automize this command in my forms application. I mean where should I place this command in forms 6i in order to start sql tracing of this form application. As well as what should we do if I want to enable tracing for a particular session from forms 6i and the output of a SQL Trace file would be generated on forms screen.
I know there is a Sys.dbms_system.set_sql_trace package and Alter session command available for enabling Sql Tracing, but how should we do that via forms 6i.
I will appreciate if someone on that forum please suggest me and give me the clear picture about what I am wanting. I know there are several GUI tools available in Oracle but I have to do this through forms.

You can turn trace on or off in a form by doing this:
Forms_DDL('ALTER SESSION SET SQL_TRACE = TRUE');However, I don't know of any method for displaying the results from Forms. You have to switch to your operating system commands to view the output. Here are the notes I use on my Windows XP platform:
Run TKPROF:
from Windows:
start cmd.exe window.
CD C:\ORA92\admin\ORA92\udump
-- find name of newest file in window
TKPROF ora92_ora_???? TKOut explain=scott/tiger
view file with Notepad or PFE: C:\ORA92\admin\ORA92\udump\tkout.prf

What have you tried so far. Could you give us a code example? Also, what version of Forms and Reports are you using? Forms 6i through Forms 10g have the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT() built-in which is the recommended way to run a report, however you can also use the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT() built-in to call a report. There are examples of how to use both in the Forms Help system.

Startup/Shutdown database through java code

I am trying to shutdown/startup my database 10gr2 using a java code.
I am able to shutdown db through EM dbconsole .. so there should be way to perform these steps using java prog.
Issue I am getting is that "shutdown immeidate" is not a valid sql statement.
do "shutdown" command strickly belongs to sqlplus only
[ shutdown/ shutdown immeidate/shutdown abort ] .. nothing works

Problems with the System.Windows.Forms.Timer

Could some one help me please? I'm having a problem using the System.Windows.Forms.Timer inside an ItemEvent, the timer event just doesn't works...give a look in my code:

Unfortunately you cannot use a Forms.Timer without using a windows form (ie not a SBO form). Have you looked at the other 2 timer objects in .Net, the System.Timer.Timer and System.Threading.Timer? Here's a link to a web page that goes through the differences between each one:

Unable to Open forms Through Forms session

All,
We are having a strange issue with Oracle Forms, recently we have applied CPU patches and after that we are unable to open 'PO CHange History' form through forms session and also we are having same issue with our Custom Form as well, below is the error message
Error
You are trying to access a page that is no longer active.
- The referring page may have come from a previous session. Please select close window to proceed.
We are on Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 version and the issue we are getting in windows 7 system.

How to bring 'Firm' Purchase Orders from legacy system through PDOI

Hi
we are interacing the purchase orders from a legacy system through Open Interface i.e PDOI.
Here i have to enable the Firm_Flag for all these PO before converting to oracle. I found that there is a column firm_flag in po_headers_interface table , but when i am populating taht column to 'Y' also, the firm flag at the PO window , by clicking the Terms button, is not reflecting.
Please let me know why PDOI is not picking up the value at the header table. Any help is really helpful.

Problem in downloading a file from AS to client through form using webutil

I am running oracle 10g sever & devloper 10g in the same machine. Almost every thing is working properly from a client PC in the network except the following aspect :-
From client pc, through form, I have created one export(dmp file) which is being saved in the AS. Now I want this file to be downloaded from AS to this client PC.
I have tried webutil_file.copy_file(server_filename,client_copy_name) which is not working. the error trace file says "Unable to open source file in server" & "Unable to read WebUtil configuration file".
I have also tried webutil_file_transfer.AS_to_Client_with_progress
which results in unsuccessful from server to client.
I modified the webutil.cfg file as :=
transfer.database.enabled=TRUE
transfer.appsrv.enabled=TRUE
transfer.appsrv.accessControl=FALSE
transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot=D:\temp
transfer.appsrv.read.1=D:\temp
transfer.appsrv.write.1=D:\temp
