  • Camera no longer works on shutter button

Just updated my phone to 5.1, when pressing the shutter button for quick way to take pictures, it now takes 30seconds for camera to come on screen then flickers and won't take a picture. Is there anyway I can reverse this upgrade as it has not improved anything on my phone, it is still very hard to hear when ringing or playing music and now I can't take pictures correctly. Thanks in advance.

Hi tonywam, welcome to the community!
Follow @Phy's advice and keep us updated. If it doesn't work then you can try running a software repair on the device as that is likely to help.
You will need to download PC Companion.
Note: a software repair will delete all user data, to back
    up your phone:
    1. Go to Support to install PC Companion on a Windows
    computer.
    2. When installed, start PC Companion on the computer.
    3. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
    4. Click Start under Backup & Restore.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
(Exactly what contents will be backed up may differ
    depending on phone model.
You can view detailed information about this as you follow
the steps in the Backup & Restore wizard).
Running the software repair on PC Companion:
    1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
    2. Phone Software Update.
    3. Start.
    4. Repair Phone
    5. Continue
    6. Accept data removal
    7. Next
    8. Wait for prepare
    9. Select Phone
    10. Follow the connection steps

  • The camera on my ipad cannot be launched, the shutter appears closed and the button for taking a picture is not there. When tryying to use intsgram the message camera cannot be launched appears .tried to restart but problem still there

My camera is not working .shutter appears closed.tried to restart ipad but problem still there.no problem with photo booth problem with istangram

Try closing the Camera app via the taskbar and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Camera app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camera app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
And by restart do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear (you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot). If not, and if closing the app doesn't fix it, then you could try that.

  • Asha 503: Use lock screen button as shutter button

    Feature request.
I mean, why not? We can already adjust the zoom level using the volume buttons, so why not go for the full package and use the lock button as a shutter one.
It'd feel so much more natural when taking pics while holding the phone horizontally, and it saves the user the annoyance of having to tell people "Just tap anywhere on the screen to take the photo" when asking a passerby to take a photo of you and your friends since most phones have a physical shutter button nowadays.
Chime in if you want this to be implemented as well!

Since you have had your iPhone under a year if you take it to a apple store and go to the genius bar they should replace your current iPhone with a brand new one for free.

  • Suggestion - 5D3 minimum shutter speed for auto ISO

Hi, I would like to make a suggestion to Canon on the 5D3 camera, with regard to the minimum shutter speed for auto ISO. Currently I find that most of the selectable shutter speeds are on the low side (mostly below 1/125), and this may not be useful for handheld photography, or for fast moving subjects. I would like to suggest the following:
    - More minimum shutter speed settings faster than 1/125 including in-between speeds e.g. 1/160 (between 1/125 and 1/250)
    - Automatic shutter speed based on a multiple of lens focal length e.g. 2x lens focal length (for both prime and zoom lenses)
I hope that Canon can come up with an updated firmware that does this. Thanks.

Good idea, you can add it to the thread "Firmware Update Wishlist", and "Canon dSLR Wish List?" because a proper, configurable, flexible auto ISO is much needed and would beneficiate all cameras, not only 5D3.
I am not sure what Magic Lantern can give you on that issue, but you can take a look at their page.
Now, as a short term solution, on 1D4 I have put the cfns for 'shutter speed range' and 'iso speed range' in MyMenu, and when I need I change the max ISO (usually 1600) and a min shutter seepd (depends on lens and subject) on the fly. Not very practical (many button push needed), but it works.
    I hope that helps

  • Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 shutter button

The shutter button was broken and fell out. How can I replace it? Thanks.

The DSC-H2 and H5 have a serious design flaw, the shutter button posts are about 1/32 of an inch thick and break ALL THE TIME. Don't waste your money buying another one from Sony for $25+ because it will just break again.
You want an aluminum post so that it will NEVER break again!! Sony doesn't sell them and won't admit there's a problem with the camera design. They will charge you $171 to fix the camera if you want to send it in to them though! Not a very good deal if you ask me.
The only place to get a solid aluminum shutter release button post is from Darntoothysam.com and the complete repair package is only $70 if you want to send it in for repair.
$25 for the same plastic post that already broke, or $25 for a solid aluminum one with a lifetime guarantee it will never break again?

  • Camera shutter button problem?

    Hi guys,
Just got my new Xperia Z3, and the physical camera shutter button seems odd to me - wondering if this is a fault on my device, or just a strange design I'm not used to / wasn't expecting?
It has absolutely no soft click feedback unlike all the other buttons on that side of the phone, it just progressively moves further inward until its flush with the housing.  Gentle pressure on the button performs the autofocus, but in order to activate the button fully (i.e. to wake the phone up into camera mode, or to take a photo), it seems to take a substantial amount of pressure.  What I mean by that is that there's no way I would be able to push it without opposing force from the other side (i.e. strong grip), and when held like a normal camera, I have to squeeze it sufficiently hard that I can no longer quite keep the phone still (i.e. it moves or my hand starts to shake!) - which I'd have thought would make taking photos at night a nightmare!
Just interested to know how other people's work, similar experiences or is mine clearly different and I should get it changed?
    Many thanks,
    Greg
    Solved!

Thanks for the reply Thommo.  Your reply inspired me down to the phone shop to confirm for myself what I was wondering.  My phone is very definitely not right when compared to a normal one.  The Z3 has a very definite two click level button  (as did the Z1 compact and the Z2 on display that I also tried), that requires only a gentle pressure to activate each.  Not sure how my description sounds fine at all now I've tried it on another phone!?  Anyway, the woman in the shop agreed, as she actually struggled to even be able to press the button at all.  I know you can get around using the button, but I've missed its existence on my HTC, and still images is exactly what I want it for.
EE are sending a new one out for tomorrow, taking away the old one at the same time.  Fingers crossed for that one!

  • N8: Shutter button after a 1000 photos?

I must have taken about... 2 000 photos by now. I have recently noticed that the two-phase shutter button is misbehaving. Unless I push it exactly in the middle, I can not achieve the second phase, that is, I can focus but not finish the shot afterward.
It's almost impossible to hit the exact middle of the button all the time, by neccessity one sometimes presses a bit to the left or a bit to the right. It used to be possible to finish the shot even if the finger is not in the perfect-middle position.
    This is annoying.
    1. Does anyone else have this problem with the button?
    2. I have a two-year warranty and I'm six months into owning the device. Does this warrant a replacement?
    N8 / RM-596

If the phone has a fault it should be covered by the warranty, take it to your nearest Nokia Care Point and get it repaired, can't imagine them replacing the handset for a faulty button !

  • Canon Eos 1 V shutter button problem

Hullo ! I recently bought a Canon Eos 1 V camera. Is a great body and very functional to me. I've found out a "problem" with the shutter button. It seems to be to "sensible" and never blocks the focus and the exposition. I tried all combinations possible - specially the Av Mode and so on. The lower button for vert. takes is instead perfect - locks AF and AE very well. The button seems to be too soft and has lost the "2 pressions" feel. Sometimes instead gets very hard. Is it more mechanical or software issue ? Is it a well known problem or I've got just on my camera ? The film counter shows an 750 count.
Here in Italy Canon repair service is getting very fussy about repairing non-digtal bodies.. Any solution or indication ? Do I have better sending to UK Canon Service or to Usa Canon service ?
Thank you and congratulation for the forum.

  • Rebel T3 1100 D shutter button is "freezing" or "locking up"

Practicing with my Rebel T3 1100 D outdoors and my shutter button is locking up making the picture impossible to capture.  This is happening intermittently, meaning, I haven't seen a pattern.  Eventually, after turning the camera off and on a few times, I can refocus on another "subject" and capture a shot.
I was wondering what I'm doing wrong.  The manual does not cover this particular problem that I'm having.
A younger friend, he's a nurse who does photography on the side, shot with my T3 last week and he encountered the shutter button "freezing up" or "locking up", so he was unable to take the picture.  He said it shouldn't do that, but isn't familiar with the EOS cameras.  He suspected possibly it's a problem for "warranty" to look at or something set somewhere in the camera that I haven't figured out.  Because, later on, he shot more with it, and then all of a sudden he couldn't get a picture again, he thought it might be an actual camera problem or bug.  Advised me to send back while my warranty is in effect.
You push down on the shutter button, subject comes in focus, then you push down further to capture the shot and the button does not function.
Please help if you know anything about a shutter button problem with the EOS T3.
Thank you so much for your time.
    Julie

AF is controlled by the camera UNLESS you turn the AF / MF switch (located on the lens) to MF (manual focus). From the way I'm reading the info you've added you are trying to shoot in low light, which is very taxing to the AF systems on most cameras, especially with consumer grade lenses. You'll often read the term "fast glass" or a "fast lens" which refers to lenses with wider max apertures, which allows more light in for the AF to work with. One of the more common work arounds is to set the camera to use ONLY the single center AF point. When that doesn't work it's time to use MF but without a focusing aid (such as the split prism used before AF) it's tough to hit aa perfect focus regularly.

My safari menu bar is missing.  The menu bar for desktop, HD, and apps appears, but when I click on Safari, it disappears, so I can no longer see my buttons for History, etc.  I think my husband (pc user) clicked it away when borrowing my computer.  Any ideas how to retrieve it?  Thanks.

I too was having the same problem However, I could access both the menu bar and the dock by hovering my mouse over them so it wasn't a huge problem but I prefered having it there anyway. I was not in full screen mode and I could still go into full screen mode if I wanted to.  I found the easiest solution was to just quit safai and restart it, but it might not work for you considering you couldn't access you menu bar either way.
I found this article that allows you to hide/show the menu bar and the dock through TextEdit (didn't work for me) http://www.mactricksandtips.com/2009/07/hide-the-menubar-or-dock-in-specific-app s.html It is pretty old so it might not work for lion and a bit risky if you don't know what you're doing so I wouldn't really recommend doing it this way.

  • How do I disable "Exceptions" button for "Block pop-up windows" in Content tab?. I am able to Disable other Exception buttons in this tab using about:config preference.

Need a way to disable "Exception" button for "Block Pop-up windows" in Tools-> Options -> Content tab. I want to be able to do this for Locking Down Firefox preferences.

That button doesn't have a pref associated with it, so you can't disable that button with a pref on the about:config page or a lockPref call.
That only leaves the choice to remove that button with code in userChrome.css

  • How do I create a submit button for my form? I would like it to send the completed PDF to an email address

    Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded to Adobe XI and I can't find a "submit by email" button for my form. I created a button and tried to set up some actions but, I can only get the button to direct the user to a URL. How do I make it send the completed PDF to our designated company email address? I'm not too familiar with JAVASCRIPTS so I haven't tried that plus I heard it may not work with users with adobe reader.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Thanks for the input. I think you might have a different version of LiveCycle than the copy I have since it looks a little different. However, I found the answer in Adobe help. I had to type "mailto:" before the email address to indicate it's an email and not a URL. See below.
To collect form data as attachments to email, type mailto: followed by the email address. For example, mailto:[email protected]

  • I am having the problem when trying to take a panorama picture.   It may only take the first frame or doesn't even start at all when I press the shutter button. even though when i  hold the phone straight up and down, so that camera is at the top

I am having the problem when trying to take a panorama picture.
It may only take the first frame or doesn't even start at all when I press the shutter button.
even though when i  hold the phone straight up and down, so that camera is at the top on the back and the home button is on the bottom on the front.
    This problem is irritating me....?

    To take panorama
    - ensure that the panorama option is on
    - press the shutter button once
    - you will see a line with an arrow
    - move around in a circle  ( I keep the camera steady and turn myself around in a circle)
    - as you do this you will see the arrow moving across the screen as it captures pictures
    - at the end of the capture, you will be able to see your panorama picture
I hope that this helps, do report back.
